when you get at least 1 confirmation you can be moderately sure that bitcoin is send to that address. with more confirmation you can make sure that the transaction is not a double spend. that is why some places accept the transaction after at least 3 confirmation or more. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Confirmation

i had no problem in "using bitcoin" so far. but problem with bitcoin, i think i can say the price volatility and lack of mass adoption is the biggest problems. Too big blockchain, too slow synchronization.
use an SPV wallet like Electrum, problem solved!

discovering bitcoin gambling just held me back from reaching my goal of having more bitcoin in my wallet that i wanted to. because i lost them in gambling. and all of it is because what you said, gambling with bitcoin especially in dice sites is too easy and fast so you get addicted easily.
|
|
|
not all are playing some are just making friend and waiting for some tips(if ever had) in chatroom from player who won a lot..
that would be begging , and it is not allowed anywhere in dice sites. besides you always have to have some minimal amount wagered to be able to chat or the big players to tip you.

You want to gamble ? you feel somthing inside you telling you "You will win" or "lets just try for fun" or "i dont need this money" or you say: "i will play with this amount and the other i'll save it" well, if you hear these words it might be too late for you to stop.... Please do something urgently and stop gambling cause :
Gambling = losing, please stay away , anyways i know oneone will listen cause i used to laugh at threads like this .
if you are going to reply to say this guy just lost his money and he is angry ... Please just dont my friend.
this is a harsh statement but it is sadly true. gambling can be very addictive and people who get into gambling always lose a lot of money doing it. it can be very fun while you are doing it and are unaware of how much you have lost in total, but the truth will come out in the end.

I wouldn't tell anyone how much Bitcoins do i have. Once you say that in a post or thread that you have xxx amount of coins you will be spammed heavily and hackers might target you.(Send you link or file with viruses etc..) That's why there's a poll to give anonymous answer. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Yes, hackers can target much more the people when they know exactly how many coins they have. That's why the best thing to do is to own a Trezor or to own a second computer just for crypto movements. Even if you don't brag, having any one of those two is very smart thing to do. This can be some older computer as well. Then they can send you as many links as they wish. the cheapest way is to make a live linux on a USB disk and install a wallet on there and keep your coins there. or if you can , creating a paper wallet is a good cheep way

i wonder if u got proofs that NSA/CIA/FBI/Cartoon-networks/... are watching bitcointalk's members will U still use it!
Thank u.
i don't see why not!! since i am not doing any criminal activity and not planning on doing any criminal activity, so i don't care. let them watch me ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) thats the mindset of most people I've talked to about the nsa, "if i'm not doing anything wrong then they can spy on me all they want" Well, 2 things to consider: Do you value privacy? If not, then would you hand over your emails & passwords to complete strangers? I doubt it. AFAIK unless Theymos(?) is an agent of nsa or whatever place they don't have access to my email and / or password. besides i will never use my main email in any forum because of the possibility of spam. Secondly, do you value how your tax dollars are spent? Do you really like the idea of busting you butt, only to have billions of tax dollars spent to monitor your every waking moment and piece of communication? I doubt it!
if they are spying on bitcointalk users then it would be US citizens tax dollars not mine ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

i think is most secure online wallet blockchain.info
not the most secure but it is for sure the easiest wallet that anybody can use while having access to your private keys.

maybe if bitcoin becomes more of a currency that everybody from any country can use to purchase their day to day needs, rather that just an investment. also i personally don't know where (if) is the donation address that i can donate to the developers.
|
|
|
So If using cryptocurrencies become a crime, will you be a criminal AND use it?Note: Before you reply remember CIA/FBI/NSA/South-park/... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) if it becomes a crime which is still not a crime and is not going to be. so don't worry too much about it bro.

Increasing block size is necessary thing, but XT schism is harmful for the whole bitcoin ecosystem. This is just attempt to coup and impose their rules for btc protocol ignoring opinions of the rest of core developers.
In case if XT takes 50% of hashing power, bitcoin will be wasted. Everybody will start dumping btc until the price reaches zero.
i agree with the first part of what you said, increasing the block size is mandatory but bitcoin XT doesn't look like the solution. and the second part is not correct IMO. if bitcoin XT is going to have more percentage of the hashing power it will eventually replace core so the price is going to just take a small hit because of some dumps that already happend and might happen too but i don't see it reaching 0 because of this

So are you holding your bitcoins for future events such as halving or you more like to spend your bitcoins when you get it? I personally like to spend it for digital goods usually...
yes. of course i am holding all the bitcoin that i have for the future. because i believe that bitcoin has more potential that what it is showing right now, so the price will go up eventually. then is it time to spend bitcoin.

well the signature campaign rates have always been a competitive scene. new campaigns always have either higher rates or some new feature like bonuses. and then old campaigns adjust themselves in order not to get emptied out of participants...

I want to create a faucet with increased payments based on refferal count.
I need help with development and promotion.
I have a limited budget of 5 BTC for this project
Best Regards.
one of the best ways of promoting your faucet is what you are currently doing (putting it in your signature). but to really attract more traffic you have to be different than other faucets. like paying more or have good features like lottery or dice (like freebitco.in)

you should add methods for verifying the downloaded wallet file's signature to the part where you say "Do not download any wallets that they are not listed here Bitcoin.org - Choose your wallet" this is important too, because you should always check to see if you downloaded the right file with their signature.
|
|
|
you should advertise your business on bitcoin related forums, for example here in the services section you can introduce your service. also reddit/r/bitcoin or similar subs that might be relative to your service might be a good place for promoting your service. as long as the prices are competitive and you sell products that has any customer you can be successful

i am still using windows 7 and have no problem so far with it. and as far as your concerns go, you can always use offline wallets and only broadcast the signed transactions on your online pc.

but my very first bitcoin or better said satoshi came from faucets, so i played around with that small amount and after that i bought the very first bitcoin and put it aside in a safe place.
