6942  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC worth $1M confiscated in Canada ruling on: April 19, 2019, 12:11:21 PM
Only proves that bitcoin is not that anonymous as everyone has thought it to be in its early years. The guy uses it to buy guns in the darkweb and he thought the can get away with it. Unfortunately, many undercover authorities are also roaming the darkweb that's why he was caught. I wonder though was going to happen to his bitcoin, perhaps the government of Canada will auction it.

We all know that Bitcoin is psuedo anonymous.

So just reminder for criminals not to use bitcoin at all cost  Grin, you may never know that you are dealing with undercover cops and just a matter of time before they will caught you.

They don't care, as long as they can sell anything and be paid, then at the end of the day its business. As far as the confiscated Bitcoins, the government can do whatever they want. They can kept it in cold storage, or they could do a public auction.

I also see this one in reddit yesterday:

Argentina, Colombia, and Kazakhstan just reached the All-time highs for their weekly Bitcoin volume on LocalBitcoins

source: (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/be5935/argentina_colombia_and_kazakhstan_just_reached/)

Interesting to another South American country slowly getting into the picture and have huge volumes in recent months. But then again, we can't be certain of this numbers though, but is the adoption of Bitcoin around that country is that significant? I'm not from those countries so I'm very curious about it.

Today i received a message on my email for invest in a site https://bitfalcon.info  .I do not understand the process about this website .Is this website really pay or legit .May i get an suggestion.

Ok I'm glad that you asked the community's opinion first before thinking of putting your hard money in these kind of websites. But if you used your common sense, something will tell you that this is a pure Ponzi scheme. Stay away and don't you bother to invest on that site because obviously, it's a scam site.
6945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 19, 2019, 04:53:13 AM
Another one of my favorites, Tsitsipas was beaten by Medvedev, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Djovokic had a easy day, disposing Fritz, 6-3, 6-0. Thiem is fighting hard in the first set, down 0-5 against Lajovic. While Nadal up 6-0 in the first set against Dimitrov. Fognini vs Zverev in the next 40 minutes.

I was a bit concerned about Nadal, since he is coming back from injury but it seems he is back to his old clay tennis patterns. I didn't manage to see him live yet so I am judging mostly by results and few points I saw replayed.

Yes, from what I see he is still not 100%. But knowing Nadal's competitive spirit, he just simply ignore what his body is telling him and enter this tournament. Hope though that his body can still hold the gruesome wear and tear.

By the way he was never 6:0 up against Dimitrov. He won first set 6:4 and never had more than one break advantage in first set. Looking good to finish it shortly.

Thank you for pointing that out. I must have been excited to see him play high level tennis again.

@Royse777 - hey bud, we are back, Monte Carlo Masters is heating up, round of 16 an QF are already here.  Grin
6946  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has no practical use and could be damaging to the economy! on: April 18, 2019, 03:03:27 PM
It seems to me that Bitcoin has an impact on the economy.  Because as soon as they legalize him, he can supplant Fiat.  I think this will change our lives a lot.

In what way? So does it have a positive impact?

I don't know but so far we have seen the impact on countries like Venezuela and Zimbabwe and used Bitcoin as an hedge because there local currency has lost to much value. Those who countries who said it can damage their economy are usually those governments who doesn't want to give much power or control to their population.
6947  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which are the best cryptocurrency Exchanges in Australia? on: April 18, 2019, 02:52:31 PM
Jinance.com.au? It sound likes a rip-off of Binance.  Grin

I don't know if you are aware that Binance is already going down under (https://www.binance.com/en/blog/314949990117445632/Binance-Goes-Down-Under-Launches-CashtoCrypto-Service-in-Australia). So in any case, I would just got and try Binance, we all know their reputation and it's bringing it to your backyard.
6948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal Board Member: Bitcoin May Grow 250x on: April 18, 2019, 02:33:07 PM
Well its okay for me for him to say that but I would rather stick with what I believe in. For that large rise it could cause mayhem in the financial system so a slow movement would be best for all.

For those who have been here in 2017 and see the price grows magically to almost $20000, I would say that a slow movement is much better. It might be a long hard grind ahead, but if it will bring some sort of stability to the price then I certainly will go on that direction.

He is from Xapo and he is keeping bitcoins which is no doubt about that.
Why do you think he will spread this kind of news?! Grin

Just to shill and see his portfolio grow overtime. Who wouldn't love to see our investments grow by just shilling?  Grin
6949  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Make a guess, how much did Bitcoin volume change on LocalBitcoins after Apr.1? on: April 18, 2019, 02:08:40 PM
There are even reports that Argentina, Colombia, and Kazakhstan have reached all-time-high in their LBC transactions as well:

So I'm not surprised by those numbers because it's pretty obvious that the spike last April 2 has a domino effect whether you trading online or OTC or using your localbitoins.
6950  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We should build a seastead on: April 18, 2019, 02:00:06 PM
Sorry for the almost necropost, but just saw this piece of news about Elwar and Summergirl. There's a photo and more reports, but this is probably the first one online: https://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/national/30367834

If it's true that Elwar's in hiding, whatever our opinions about seasteading, we've got a Bitcoin early adopter and someone who actually did something about seasteading. Let us hope he's okay, and that this plays out in a just and appropriate way.

Yep, it's all over the P&S as of late and I hope that Elwar and his Thai girlfriend are doing ok. I really don't know what the Thai government suddenly thinks that Elwar is a threat specially his pet project about seasteading. Threat to national security? WTF is that? And this news suddenly flips the whole seasteading thingy around the world.

6952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on an insect fight? on: April 18, 2019, 01:45:08 PM
I used to bet on this kind of games, but it was just a friendly bet as me and my buddies are fond of collecting insects and have them fight during summertime when we were kids. So I'm not sure if there is a community or a fan based on insect fights. I know in Asia it's predominant, but how about any parts of the globe? I don't think though that I'm going to bet, for me it's just a friendly game and should not involved huge money, IMHO.
6953  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-18] World’s Largest Bitcoin Exchange Wants to Help Rebuild Notre Dame on: April 18, 2019, 01:36:26 PM
We have to look at what incentives Binance will get from sponsoring or helping restore Notre Dame. Right, they are doing it so that they could be in the headlines of a major newspaper. Good marketing ploy? Yeah, so let's see how crypto enthusiast will react to this. CZ is really pushing the boundaries, as per article:

6954  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ShapShift delisting BSV on: April 18, 2019, 01:31:14 PM
So I doubt that they will exercise they kind of power again.
Sure, but I'm uncomfortable they even have that power to begin with. The whole point of crypto was to move away from money being centralized, and other people having control over your funds. Now sure, these are private companies and can delist whatever they like, but having such power over the market with no oversight makes me a bit uneasy.

Exactly, I'm worried that exchanges have so much power to kick out coins right now. It may have set a precedence.

I can't see BCH ever being delisted unless Ver goes wild like CSW has. Coins which are even scammier than BCH like Bitconnect and EOS haven't been delisted on the basis of "scaminess" alone. It took CSW trying to sue people over nonsense for SV to be delisted.

I agree that we all hate what Bitcoin Cash did to the ecosystem back in 2017. But it's unlikely, even if that online petition gain traction to suddenly delist BCH as well. Roger Ver is not that stupid as compare to CSW to make a sudden move that will cause Binance to delist them as well.
6955  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC To 9K$, China Banned miners on: April 18, 2019, 12:49:20 PM
We cannot know if bitcoin will rise after the move of china to ban the miners but the good thing is bitcoin still in a $5k level and ready to break the $5600 goingbto $6000, lets wait for another month if the increase will continue or it will going to dump this time.
The price is going at the right path, it's going to reach $6000 soon, just watch it, it has never back down and will certainly break the resistance soon.
We stayed at $5000 long, time to move up as that's the right move in the bull period.

If we are going to look at how it affects the market after the news has been released, no negative impact has been seen. On the contrary, the market is really doing good as the price is now breaking another big barrier at $5200 and yeah it could be heading to $5500-$6000 and we could be back where we used to be before the actual massive sell off because of the Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin SV hash war. So I guess there is no negative effect so far and we have to thank the market for not really taking this news seriously.
6956  Economy / Economics / Re: How adoption will happen on: April 18, 2019, 12:42:37 PM
Is it going to start with poor countries and their dictators?

Dictators wants to control everything. So it's pretty obvious that they won't operate it under his regime because it will give too much economic freedom for his constitute so this is not the way for adoption.

Is it going to start in the USA with their SEC and ETF and everything?
Discuss.

We haven't had any approval yet so I won't factor the two. What we need is people using crypto to pay and merchants allowing it as payment system, whether crypto-crypto or crypto-bitpay-fiat.
6957  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you see cryptocurrency 10 years from now? on: April 18, 2019, 12:27:08 PM
Hey guys,

I was watching some documentaries the other day about our monetary system.

May I know what documentaries did you watch? I'm just curious.

I'm convinced that crypto currency is the future money and fiat currency will be erase in the future. How long do you think can it take?

Thanks!

No, it won't erase fiat system. It was not Satoshi vision if you are going to look at the whitepaper. What he wanted to was a alternative payment system. So I don't think that crypto will accomplished that in the next 10 years. Maybe there could be tip of the balance in favor of crypto. But I don't think that institutions who have been with us for hundreds years will simply disappear because of crypto.
6958  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who sell? / How this happens? on: April 18, 2019, 02:47:08 AM

Lucky for those who do able to buy that cheap and unlucky for those who sell. This is indeed an error setting up the parameter with a bot.So theres no actually new thing on here but hope these post do already clarifies out this curiosity.

Well, it could really turn out to be gold for those who were able to bag lots of Waves at that cheap price. And if this is a mistake due to bot's wrong parameters, then it just shows that bot are not for everyone to used or for people who doesn't like to double check everything, another disadvantage of bot lovers out there. That's why I'm against using bot specially if you are a newbie in this crypto sphere. I don't think there is manipulation here, you willing to sell your assets for a cheap price? I doubt that.
6959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Gaining Interest From Investors, VCs and Tech Companies on: April 18, 2019, 02:39:03 AM
So far, Bakkt has raised  funds from venture capitalist, but for me this is a still a far cry from what we are expecting. Anyways, it hasn't yet been approved, but once it's going to be a given a go signal from CFTC, we might see institutional money, VC, or top tech companies started to pour their cash on the ecosystem.

Nishikori is out of the Monte-Carlo Masters losing in straight sets to unseeded Pierre Hugues Herbert. From what I have seen watching Nishikori matches recently he doesn't seem to be the same player and I think that he is still not 100% fit from the injury he sustained in the Australian Open. Have you guys noticed that he hasn't been in good form since then? Maybe he should take some time off to get himself 100% fit and healthy.

Yes, I've noticed that there's a big drop on Nishikori performance and I must say that it was due to his injury. He is not yet 100% healed that's why it is really affecting his performance, he can go to the qualifiers but when the competition gets tough, he usually losses big time.

Auger Aliassime is a great player but it seems that he's not mentally prepared yet to put a great performance in a Grand Slam. He had a huge chance to reach the final in Miami but he choked in the worst moment and made 3 double faults in a row serving for the set. Now it was different because Zverev is definitely better than Isner and Auger didn't have a chance.

He is still a kid, that's why I also route for him whenever he has a game. Although he has choke as you pointed out, he has still a lot of leg room to improved and has the potential to be one of the best players in the future so I say give him a chance and just watch the kid grow.
