^^ Yep, we discussed all about his sudden comeback and that basing on his performance on the next tournament he entered, we come to the conclusion that Andy hasn't fully recovered. But if he is going to rest for about a year or so. Just maybe it can healed properly, and then he resumes again, just joining small tournaments and gauge how his back is doing and probably could go max 80%-90%. A slow and hard grinding, anyways, wish him the best. Grin

Was there some new press conference from Andy's team? Last one I saw was the one where he broke in front of press and said his career is over. He really sounded like he doesen't have the will to fight with injuries any more. He even said something like he is doing rehab only to have better quality of his after tennis life.

No press conference but just a video which I posted earlier showing him swinging (and some updates on his injury). That's why there is a big buzz that he might come back this year or early next year to try and revived his tennis career. We just have several discussions that Andy might or might not have that itch inside of him to return and play great tennis again. So we will see.

The clay court season is underway with many tournaments starting with the tournament in Houston and Marrakech. No big name players are playing yet but there are some players we know playing in the Houston tournament. I'm just waiting for the big names to start playing as they are more interesting to watch.

I'm yet to decide on who to bet on in this years French Open, I'm thinking about have several bets like I did last year. Thiem I like on clay for an outsider but its hard to go passed Nadal if he is fully fit and ready to go. Djokovic is another that can challenge Nadal and win and I haven't heard any news about Federer playing yet? There is a chance that he will play if this is his final year.

Yes, I posted the tournament schedules about a week ago. But I would rather watch the game in the round of 64 or 32 so that it gets more exciting and maybe we can see some upsets.

Thiem is a good underdog because of his performance last year. Of course Nadal will still be the favorite specially if he is 100% physically and mentally ready. Djokovic has started this year at the wrong foot so maybe he is preparing hard in this tournament. Roger hasn't decided to play, but I think he will enter this year.

Alexander Zverev lost to unseeded Jaume Munar in three sets at the Grand Prix Hassan II which was somewhat of an upset. Alexander Zverev is another player I was thinking about betting on for the French Open but after this performance I'm just not sure. He is up and down with form and is very hard to know when he will win or not as when he is the favourite to win matches he ends up losing a lot of the time against lower ranked players. Right now I am thinking of putting some money on Thiem, Djokovic and if Federer does play I might also put a bet on him as he has been in good form recently.

Oh well, the typical Zverev,  Grin. The most consistent, "inconsistent" player in the tournament.  Grin. That will be a good choice, Thiem and Djokovic and then let's see if Federer will enter the as well.

Monte-Carlo Masters is already heating up, I see Tomic is already out, lost to Ymer in the qualifiers but there are a lot of familiar names who made it to the round of 64.

Finally, clay court season is here. I always love first tournaments after court changes from betting perspective. Usually there is some value odds that we can take advantage of. Especially first set handicaps against players playing their first mach of the season on clay.

Djokovic is already thru to the next round as he defeated Kohlschreiber, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Khachanov, Čilić and Tsonga lost though. Interesting match going on right now, Auger Aliassime vs Zverev. Quite surprised to see Zverev had a love set on the first, and he is up 1-0 on the second. I'm expecting a 3 setter here, so let's see if Auger Aliassime can rise to the occasion and forced a 3rd set.

Auger Aliassime is a great player but it seems that he's not mentally prepared yet to put a great performance in a Grand Slam. He had a huge chance to reach the final in Miami but he choked in the worst moment and made 3 double faults in a row serving for the set. Now it was different because Zverev is definitely better than Isner and Auger didn't have a chance.

Nishikori is out of the Monte-Carlo Masters losing in straight sets to unseeded Pierre Hugues Herbert. From what I have seen watching Nishikori matches recently he doesn't seem to be the same player and I think that he is still not 100% fit from the injury he sustained in the Australian Open. Have you guys noticed that he hasn't been in good form since then? Maybe he should take some time off to get himself 100% fit and healthy.

I've noticed he's level of playing has dropped a lot since he's injury but I don't know if a break will help him become better. The only way we could get back to his form is if he continues playing until he finds that rithm again that got him so high in the ATP, same as it happened to Wawrinka.

You could be right mate but I'm just not sure if continuing on if he does have a injury is the best thing to do. Just take Nadal and Federer for example, when they both got injuries they took time off to get their bodies 100% fit and when they came back they were just as good as before they sustained their injuries. Murray is another example of a player coming back too early and playing after sustaining an injury and I also think the same can be said for Wawrinka. Anyway I just hope Nishikori can get back into top form as he is a great player to watch when he is in good form.

Yes, I've noticed that there's a big drop on Nishikori performance and I must say that it was due to his injury. He is not yet 100% healed that's why it is really affecting his performance, he can go to the qualifiers but when the competition gets tough, he usually losses big time.

Auger Aliassime is a great player but it seems that he's not mentally prepared yet to put a great performance in a Grand Slam. He is still a kid, that's why I also route for him whenever he has a game. Although he has choke as you pointed out, he has still a lot of leg room to improved and has the potential to be one of the best players in the future so I say give him a chance and just watch the kid grow.

Another one of my favorites, Tsitsipas was beaten by Medvedev, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Djovokic had a easy day, disposing Fritz, 6-3, 6-0. Thiem is fighting hard in the first set, down 0-5 against Lajovic. While Nadal up 6-0 in the first set against Dimitrov. Fognini vs Zverev in the next 40 minutes.

I was a bit concerned about Nadal, since he is coming back from injury but it seems he is back to his old clay tennis patterns. I didn't manage to see him live yet so I am judging mostly by results and few points I saw replayed.

By the way he was never 6:0 up against Dimitrov. He won first set 6:4 and never had more than one break advantage in first set. Looking good to finish it shortly.

Yes, from what I see he is still not 100%. But knowing Nadal's competitive spirit, he just simply ignore what his body is telling him and enter this tournament. Hope though that his body can still hold the gruesome wear and tear.

By the way he was never 6:0 up against Dimitrov. He won first set 6:4 and never had more than one break advantage in first set. Looking good to finish it shortly.

Thank you for pointing that out. I must have been excited to see him play high level tennis again.

Hey I was bit surprised to read that Tsitsipas was beaten he’s been in good form lately, so was counting on his victory going ahead I hope he wins more matches. I’m not surprised that Djokovic had a walkover he’s been in great touch, and he just keeps on improving with each and every match. Also I was expecting Nadal to be at his best despite his recent injuries, and he didn’t disappoint me at all I hope he continues to play like this.
