6941  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Merit "trading" - buying and selling Bitcointalk merit on: February 27, 2018, 12:26:49 AM
And it looks like a bunch of guys are abusing it as well. But just like most of the posters here says, sooner or later the full hands of the law will fall on you.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3024695.0

So let this be a lesson that trading/abusing merit will not work. In the end it will bite you in the ass and its gonna hurt as you will be negged for it and your account totally worthless.

Damn that was a shit load of bitcoins that Craig has stolen if proven guilty. So he is in very deep and serious trouble here. But I don't know its too early to speculate,  I guess the family has the real intention to claim what's their rights on bitcoin, or maybe they are driven by something specially that bitcoin rose exponentially specially last year.

It's going to be a long battle for Craig and I'm sure we will unfold the truth here. Although if I may say that Craig really live a lavish lifestyle and has a lot of money eversince.
6943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain BitCoin to someone who is not tech-savvy? on: February 26, 2018, 11:50:06 PM
How would you explain what BitCoin is to someone that is not tech-savvy?
Please share your ideas here.

Take a look at this few website:

What is Bitcoin? - "A Simple Guide for Non-Technical People."

What is Bitcoin? A non-technical explanation.

What is Bitcoin

How to Explain Bitcoin to Your Family

Personally, I just compare it to Gold. Everyone knows that Gold is being mine just like bitcoin and I'm sure that they can gauge that concept of it by comparing it to Gold and tell them that bitcoin is the digital gold.

6944  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you sick of cliche trading advice? on: February 26, 2018, 11:24:35 PM
I've been in cryptocurrency trading for a while, and one of my pet peeves is hearing the same regurgitated advice.  The two most frequent are "Buy low and sell high" and "Buy the dips".  When the market corrects, "You should have taken profits."  When it recovers, "You should have hodled."  It gets old.  What do you think?
You have been hearing this old adage, because its very effective and it will never gets old. And its not only applicable to crypto but to stocks as well so you need to follow that kind of advice and see how it works on your end.

And unless you have something new to offer to challenge that then there's no need to be tired of those old sayings.
6945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP #BTC in 2018 on: February 21, 2018, 12:48:12 AM
Many trader in this period talk about  the TOP value of bitcoin in 2018, somebody talk about  50K someone  think is 60K  other say 100K...
So it means that no one can say for certain what will be the top value of bitcoin isn't it?

But to be honest, I wouldn't put too much stress on my self to see what will be the top price and then it fall beyond my expectations. I would rather wait and see how will it goes this year.

No one expected that we can even cross $10K last year but we witness something out of the ordinary when bitcoin almost touch $20K. So for this year? Sky is the limit.
6946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is currently cannibalizing altcoins on: February 21, 2018, 12:21:05 AM
Bitcoin dominance is slowly increasing. It was at 34% a few days ago, now it's at 39.5%. Most altcoins are red.
Bitcoin is currently more than twice the market cap of #2, Ethereum.

Do you think that altcoin hype is finally fading?
I don't think so. Maybe people are shifting funds around, going to bitcoin because its started a rally. Well, at least that's how I read the market and bitcoin's dominance.

And I don't think that the altcoin hype is finally fading or dying most specially the top 5 - 10 altcoins. Yeah, they have their days under the sun, but I'm sure that in the next coming months most of them will increase as well even getting into all-time-high. What I don't like though is that those altcoin fan boys shouting that bitcoin dominance will be over. It will not happen. Sorry to burst the bubble to you guys.
6947  Economy / Economics / Re: If you achieve your target in crypto field then what you are going to do next? on: February 21, 2018, 12:01:03 AM
in my opinion is it will convert to half of money and another half again reinvest. what is your opinion and let rock together with my topic.?

If l achieve my target in this cryoto field l will invest my own business for my kids for their assurance in the future to have their income. This will give a very sure income until the next generation of my family. Because my dream is to give each of my kids an own business so that they can stand on their own because I'm not on their side forever. So I will do my best to succeed.
Yes, that's one good goal to set upon yourself one you reach your target for your crypto activity but it doesn't mean that you will totally dump it in favor of another business or another investment portfolio.

I will put up a business and then continue with trading or investing. At least you have a fall back in case something happen to the market which we all know are very volatile.

Or probably find other ways to diversify your portfolio. Diversify means do not put all your eggs in one basket. Maybe you go on traditional investments or buy real state like condo's and apartments.
6948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 20, 2018, 11:16:47 PM
After the all-star and everybody have settled down, let us go back to business. The Cleveland Cavaliers will wreck havoc with their new line-up and take that number one spot from the Toronto Raptors. The Cavs have now the young guns that can help Lebron James took that championship trophy.
It will not that easy for Lebron and his younger team mates though. Although I like the momentum shift and the East are really shaken by it. Its a whole new ball game and Toronto and specially Irving in Celtics knows how competitive Lebron is.

Again, its not going to be easy. One thing that's with them is the experience that Lebron can bring to the Cavs as compare to Toronto or Celts which don't have much experience specially going into the playoffs.

Let's see how it goes, gonna be exciting as the second half of the seasons resume.
6949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now or later? on: February 20, 2018, 08:03:46 PM
Dear friends. Newbie here. Tell me, is it true that the bitcoin for a few days/weeks will be able to achieve cost 20000$? A lot of people writes about it. Is it profitable to buy bitcoin now or is it better to wait still?
Please, don't expect something big in bitcoin or crypto because its not a get rich scheme. Those who think it is got burned easily. Specially the irrational buyers last December. Eventually though we can get to $20K, but don't say that we can get there in few days or weeks. You need to have patience mate. There is no right time to buy bitcoin, but its better if you bought it a few weeks ago during the bottom, however, if you are in for the long haul, then buying at today's price shouldn't be an issue.

In the fall, before the strong growth of bitcoin, I already advised my friend to buy bitcoin once and he did not regret it. Will my advice be relevant now?
Of course your advise will still be relevant because bitcoin is currently on a rally. What price will the rally end? Nobody knows. But you have to stick through thick and thin and not panic sell.
6950  Other / Archival / Re: [NEWS] [banned mixer] — Fast, Secure and Reliable Bitcoin Mixer (since 2016)! on: February 20, 2018, 07:51:06 PM
I am using your service for a long time now and I am very satisfied with it. But lately I have been investigating possibilities to track transactions which were send over mixing services and I found two possible attack vectors to cluster transactions which were mixed with your service.

The first one is less effective but there is still a decent risk. The transaction fees of your service are constant when the transaction has the same size. For example three transactions with one input and two output addresses had the same size of 42.598 sat/B. Obviously the fees vary when there are more input addresses but most of the time I received transactions with one input two output and the fees were constant.

The second is more severe. Let's say we have a setup of x-forward addresses and all of them are differently delayed in time. Normally you should think that this setup is bullet proof but it isn't. As the delay steps in your service are hour based and your service is sending the transactions at exactly the same time just hourly shifted (for example: 01-01 21:10:21, 01-01 14:12:20, 01-01 03:12:18) it is easy to cluster all transactions which are connected to one mixing step. With the help of the first attack vector the analysis becomes even more effective.

With the help of those information it should be no big deal for future blockchain analysis techniques to track down the source of mixed coins. This is a big risk for a mixing service which should offer a high grade of privacy.

My advice to improve the privacy of your service would be:
First attack vector: Add a small randomly chosen amount to your transaction fee. This hides the fact that a transaction is send by the same service/wallet.
Second attack vector: Offer the functionality of choosing the delay on minute basis OR add a randomly chosen delay (for example +- 10 minutes from the chosen hourly delay) to your transaction time.

I have given merit to your account since I'm been also using cryptomixer for a long time and I have notice the same specially the second attack vector.

I would love to see it being implement a delay of -/+ 10 minutes will be OK I guess on my end.

These improvements sound reasonable. We are constantly improving our algorithms and believe there is never too many measures when you deal with security and privacy. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for your fast reply. I hope that we can see this implemented in the future release of cryptomixer and more power to you guys.
6951  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese New Year - Effect On Crypto on: February 20, 2018, 06:47:43 PM
Hi everyone, as it was Chinese NY on tbe last Friday I was wandering what peoples thoughts were on its possible effect if any on the market place. This holiday obviously effects a number of countries in Sth East Asia not just China; I would think that this period could potentially see a huge number of individuals cashing in for the festivities.

What are peoples thoughts on what to expect !?! could be a lowering or market cap & another / even better buy position for your Onions..
My thought is that it will bring new faces to the ecosystem and the old investors going back as well. So that's what we are currently seeing, the price has been increasing specially after the Chinese New Year, current price now: above $11700.

So the previous trend still holds as of now. But we shouldn't account everything from the Chinese New Year itself. Maybe investors from other parts of the globe are also flocking again the pushed the price to this levels. Let's see. But it looks that we are now out of danger of a slide.
6952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what are people doing? on: February 20, 2018, 03:27:28 PM
THIS IS SO INTERESTING TO ME!!! so whats the word??
what are people doing?
HODL?? PANIC SELLING?? COMMENT BELOW I'm curious as to what everyone is doing during the current CRYPTO LANDSLIDE??? LET ME KNOW!!
In times of crisis, its better to just Hodl and don't do panic selling. Why? The moment that bitcoin or other altcoins suddenly bounce back you will be happy that you decided to just Hodl on your coins.

That's why in this industry, you don't need to be emotional. You have to learn you to control it, otherwise you will not go further and not get the maximum profit that you can get.

So for me just Hold, and you control your emotions, don't check the price regularly. I think twice or thrice a day checking is good to see how the market price is moving.
6953  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-20] Bitcoin Users Hunted by Police in Bangladesh on: February 20, 2018, 02:32:52 PM
They just declare bitcoin as illegal so it makes sense that they will hunt them down. But the question is, can they find all the bitcoin users in their country. I'm sure that those bitcoin enthusiast knows how to hide their bitcoin and the only way they can tracked them is that if they change it to FIAT.

And it will took a lot of efforts from the authorities. Is it worth though? Really sad to see them suddenly banned bitcoin but if they think that they can stop it, they are 100% wrong.
6954  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dark use of Bitcoin on: February 20, 2018, 02:11:53 PM
1) Are you used Bitcoin to buy illegal staff Huh

2) which better to buy legal things  Bitcoin or Normal Bank system (PP,payeer, cash ,.............)

I'm not using bitcoin for some illegal stuffs , and I don't want , we all know that bitcoin can either use for good things and for bad things , it depend on a person on how he/she will use the bitcoin. And to the second question just like I said it can be both buying legal stuffs by bitcoin it can possible if , if it's legal on your country.
Of course no one will self admit that they are using bitcoin for illegal means like purchasing drugs or even worse funding terrorist activities. But all we are fun loving, just trying to earn bitcoins in our own little way. But for those who thinks that they can get away with it, you are wrong. Sooner or later the authorities will caught you through blockchain analysis.

I'm been lucky enough that I'm living in a country where bitcoin is totally acceptable by the government. I can freely buy/trade/invest on cryptos and I would not take advantage of it.
6955  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC on another breakout on: February 20, 2018, 12:59:57 PM
I’m not expert trader here but I like to share my technical analysis on you would love to hear your analysis regarding the new development on Bitcoin.

Based on fib retracement the 0.382 mark was already break if it continue to move upward it will certainly go up to 0.618 mark which have the equivalent of 14K USD. And if the resistance persists it will continue to break the 1 mark equivalent to 19K USD. What I’m seeing here is another breakout is for BTC. Guys like to know your thoughts about this.

I'm no expert trader myself, I just read countless threads in the speculation board and hear others with much Technicals as far as crypto is concern and they are now pointing to the same argument as yours, bitcoin price is going uptrend and may moved towards $12K-$14K but with some resistance.

I guess its really time that we see the market goes into a positive trend. I'm tired seeing red in the last couple of months. If you Technical Analysis is correct then we are going to be happy to see bitcoin marching towards a new all-time-high.
6956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple founder has sold all his Bitcoin on: February 20, 2018, 12:55:01 PM
Where one whale steps aside another will take its place. I would not consider this to be really big news to affect bitcoin yes some bigger investors are getting out but if markets take an upward spike I'm sure they would get back in.
Exactly, he is just one whale in the ocean. Oh and just like that, new whales get into into scene.

https://www.investopedia.com/news/anonymous-cryptocurrency-enthusiast-bought-400-million-bitcoin/

Shoo Steve W. you have been replaced already. Only your money then because you are so dumb to dump your coins. We can't blame you. You have bought it very cheap and sometimes investors takes profit. I just hope that you will not regret your decision.

I think , we'll never discover really truth about his bitcoin)He expressly says that for the price falling. He's not stupid man, dudes)))
So this is another fake news to bring fear to the investors? I doubt that they succeeded because we have been in the rally for the past couple of days.

S. Korean Gov’t Official In Charge Of Crypto Regulations Found Dead Of Heart Attack

A ranking official in South Korea who has been developing policy measures against cryptocurrency speculation was found dead at his home in Seoul, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Feb. 19.

The WSJ reports the official was Jung Ki-joon, the 52 year old head of economic policy at the Office for Government Policy Coordination. Ki-joon was reported to have died of a heart attack while sleeping on Sunday Feb. 18.

In November, 2017 South Korea’s government started weekly meetings of vice ministers to regulate cryptocurrency operations. The deceased official was in charge of integrating opinions of different ministries and offices for meetings headed by Hong Nam-ki, minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination.

The official’s colleagues noted that he had been under extreme pressure over the last year due to holding a stressful post in charge of regulations development against cryptocurrency speculation.

The police have launched an investigation into the sudden death of the official, though it was described as natural.

South Korea, the world’s largest market for cryptocurrencies, has experienced a lot of confusion regarding cryptocurrency policy. On Jan. 11, the Ministry of Justice proposed a cryptocurrency trading ban, which was subsequently misinterpreted by some media as the announcement of an effective ban. The South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance later reported that it did not agree with the proposal.

On Feb. 14, the government of South Korea responded to an online petition against crypto regulations. In a released statement, Hong Nam-ki declared that there would be no cryptocurrency trading ban. However, he emphasized that “the government is still divided with many opinions ranging from an outright ban on cryptocurrency trading to bringing the institutions that handle the currency into the system.”

I was shocked to read this news. Maybe the guy was really under heavy stress since to come up with regulations that contributed to his demise. I'm not blaming anyone or even the Government, but since South Korea, together with Japan took and carry the torch from China, they want to put up something that is a win-win for both the government and their citizens.

Rest in peace.
6958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin finally hit 20K on: February 20, 2018, 12:23:02 PM
I think also that bitcoin will reach 20k in this year we dont know what happen in the few months but wil holding on my faith that bitcoin will reach that peak and all of us will celebrate.
I will be positive here and say that it can go $20K between March-April this year. The confidence is back, and we might see new investors again getting into the picture and flocking the ecosystem. But this time they know that bitcoin is not a get rich scheme so they will not just panic sells like we have seen in January. They have learn their lessons well. I'm very optimistic and looking forward to see we see new ATH well above $20K and then $60K at the end of the year.
6959  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT'S TIME TO BUY BITCOIN ?? I SAY YESSSS on: February 20, 2018, 12:17:22 PM
Bitcoins has reached it lowest since the beginning of this year, and from all indications, this is just because of bad news. I believe this is the best time to buy Bitcoins and hopefully by the end of the year, it will be around 100,000. Buy Low and Sell high.

hi bro, you are right, today BTC is going above $11500 and will go up much higher.

For my opinion, by the end of 2018, it will reach $30,000 or $ 50,000, if not $100,000.
No one can say for certain what will be the price at the end of the year. But to be honest, I don't see it going to $100K, but I will put it in the range of $50K-$60K.

There's a lot of resistance in the $12K levels. We have broken $11K already twice in 2 days but it seems we are having hard time getting above $12K. I'm hoping to see that we can overcome this and go and try $15K and see how it goes. And by March-April we may set ATH again well above $20K.
