We got an offer to be listed on Mercatox for 1btc, and although I could see us counteroffering 0.10 btc for the listing, according to these reviews they appear to not honor peoples withdrawals:

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/mercatox.com

(65% say problems withdrawing coins).

So I think we will need to pass.

I'm traveling this week so I'll be a little less available than normal but things are still happening in the morning (development wise).

Let me give a quick update on what changes are coming and updates on a few things:

1) The BiblePay external CPU miner is almost ready for testing (you can test against production or testnet).  I am formulating a strategy for our future, as related to POW/PODC/POG.  From a high level, one thing Im dissapointed about is the lack of increase in new users.  I want to see at least one new user per day.  Ive decided that maybe we were a little too stringent, trying to appeal to Christians only, when really we should appeal to everyone - and expose the everyday people to the gospel of Jesus over time.  Actually this is what Jesus wanted to do anyway - why do you eat with tax collectors and sinners?  Because we are to spread the gospel to those *in need* of it not those who already know the gospel.

In light of that, I think a "more user friendly" strategy for biblepay is to lower the ABN, to something more affordable for one.  The poll was all over the place (and relatively neutral overall).  So lets talk about this in a few days, if lowering the abn to 5000 would help onboard new users.
Moving on however to my more important point, Im thinking we code in a server side GSC campaign for Rosetta, using our new GSC system, and vote on it once completed to consume a certain % of the POG budget.  Im thinking we remove POG and switch back to Rosetta - simply because - I feel that people are very apprehensive to tithe (give to the foundation to mine) - I think they find it very unusual to be coaxing people to give to the foundation in order to receive POG rewards.  However I think some people do like the 'interest' component of pog, so what we can do is vote on 'how much of pog would be rosetta' and leave a few % points for interest.  For example, maybe we keep cameroon-one as-is, leave 5% for healing, and with the remaining 45%, we go with something like 40% for boinc and 5% for interest bearing balances etc.

One thing this would do is allow us to simplify the requirements as far as unlocking the wallet and requiring a "payment" to go to the foundation, we just need the daily update to be sent.  Im thinking we look into 'free transactions' also, as it may be possible to send those with a locked wallet to simplify those updates.

Then soon in our next release, we will also have chainlocks.  The Sanc reward is going up a little and the heat mining down, but this should work perfectly with chainlocks as security is guaranteed in the next branch.

Regarding the plan for the external miner, I will be posting binaries for linux (x64) and Windows x64 tonight.  I have no idea how the benchmark will compare to our inbuilt miner so this should be fun for all of us.  In order to use the new miner, you must also upgrade biblepay-qt (as there is a stratum call in the next version you need).  Ill post instructions on how to run the miner also.  If people need binaries other than these two, lets ask MIP to jump in and see if he can help release some extra build scripts.

We just got listed on Needyex.com.  Ive sent them the addl collateral, so feel free to test the exchange out.

Ive had a few exchanges reach out to us this week, some with very high offers that are out of the ballpark - thanks for initiating these Togo.  So far, gate.io declined to list us for "an unknown reason" but invites us to reapply again next year.  Ill summarize these asap.

Please look forward to BBP leisure upgrade for mining in a few hours  - we can test the new external miner.

Regarding GPU/Asic, once we start mining on this new external miner (bbp-miner.exe), we look forward to anyone who has GPU capabilities to try to port us to GPU (or asic).  I want to see transparency here in our project - I want a good honest white hat hacker to give it a shot.  There are interesting dynamics here - due to the low POBH reward, but nevertheless we need to know if anyone can do it for the sake of the whole community.

On a side note:  in this phase the external miner will *only solo mine* you cannot pool mine with it.  The goal is to benchmark it, and if its faster than the core client, I will move on to making a stratum pool.  I still want the stratum pool to handle future scalability and maintenance in BBP, to replace the c# server side pool code.  We will just keep the orphan letter writing in the pool, and then move that to DSQL when we have time - then we can take down pool.biblepay.org, and just have p2pool and DSQL running.  Then volunteers can make Nomp or whatever pool they want later off of p2pool as a template (or simply run more p2pools) etc.

volodaj´s wallet is here, i tried all, no chance find that BBP in wallet, with backup wallet.dat too

what is this?

Actually the evodb corruption error means the erase chain was not done (evo db should have been cleared along with blocks).

Try this:

./biblepay-qt -erasechain=1

Let it completely sync before looking the balance; ensure it is actually synced to the top block.

im using wallet ver. 1.4.9 64bit / win10(64bit)

My biblepay.conf:
Code:
gen=1
genproclimit=3
minersleep=0
pool=https://pool.biblepay.org
workerid=zupernovato1
workeridfunded=zupernovato2

I have been receiving an error since last week, no way to fix it:
Code:
Assertion failed!

File:dbwrapper.h, Line 549

Expression: dbTx.IsClean()

I haven't been able to mine since or sync since it started. Any suggestions?

It means one of the database files, most likely a block file is corrupted, please restart with:
./biblepay-qt -erasechain=1

This is relatively rare but can happen during an ungraceful exit - while database is exiting it cant flush its state to disk and probably wrote some junk over the last sectors etc.

So if you are all wondering what the devs are working on -- I'm working on a new BiblePay miner.

Just to explain the situation a little more, a year ago when people asked me about possibly separating the miner program from the core wallet, I didnt really like the idea because I felt we would be on track for continually modifying the mining algo to be impossible to run outside the core.  However, I feel that our POBH algorithm has matured to the point where its no longer changing - so as to reduce the risk of someone trying to port it to GPU or ASIC, I feel this is a good time for us to make the move - to make a standalone miner - and give any new devs out there the chance to enhance POBH.  This will also allow us to add stratum support and standardize our pool to be p2p/stratum compatible.  The bbp-miner.exe must be outside of the wallet primarily to fulfill the stratum protocol request (as putting stratum inside the core wallet violates the code of conduct for exchanges).

So, I decided to go ahead and start creating a bbp-miner.exe, and at the very least we will test its performance with solo mining.  Then if it offers an edge over the core wallet, we will then look into making our pool(s) stratum compatible and standardizing the miner to be a code-branch, the pool to be a branch of p2pool, etc, to be compatible with the bitcoin and dash specs in the latest evo code base (for future maintenance).  This part is also important so that we can attract more blockchain devs to the project and to allow us to clean up legacy code and be more fast/lean.

So far, I have ported the KJV bible into bbp-miner.exe, a cross-platform C program, using the AES256, base64, SHA256, X11, MD5 and our getblocktemplate rules.  The miner will work on all platforms, of course.

I'll let you all know as soon as a I have a working solo miner, so we can test it.  If its performance is worthy, then we will move on to making the pool compatible with dash and bitcoin, etc (with p2pool) and stratum.

This sounds good. How does it work with all the ABN weight stuff? I haven't mined since PODC so I'm not exactly sure I am up to date on how it all works right now

It can probably support ABN in the end, although I have to go in baby phases.
First the solo miner, and that will honor the wallets state itself (IE require a valid ABN).
Once we do that, while we are working on the pool software, we can look into making a special stratum call that allows funded abn's (but I have to investigate that more closely, because the p2pool environment is not the same as a centralized pool - the p2pool runs in a more decentralized environment sharing the share chain among a small number of friend nodes - so Im not 100% sure yet on funded abns + p2pool).

But, to simplify things, Im looking into a 'funded pool address' and a non-funded-pool-address.  Then the miner could just point to the correct pool or not and that would simplify setup.  It would probably break the 'hybrid' option we have now, for the sake of simplicity for bbp.

Price wise, I think theres just an overall downtrend with entire cryptocurrency/altcoin space

Even with Dash's recent developments and getting listed on Coinbase, they still went down
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dash/

Ive seen a lot of coins down 10-30x,
BiblePay in comparison has held stronger than most

Ive noticed the various sections I visit in this forum are even quieter these past few months

I think the lesser of two hidden harbingers affecting crypto:
The commoditization of digital currency on various places in wall street classic (bit shares, cftc futures and ETFs).  I feel in general the wall street traders dislike crypto (although I think futures traders dont mind btc), and - this is just my opinion - I think some of the richer stock traders probably short bitcoin for fun and brag about it.  I have this imaginary belief that when it goes over 10K they add to the shorted position.  But this is all speculation; as we get closer to bitcoins half price in what 300 more days it may blow through 20K, we have no real idea.

I think the other bigger harbinger, was the release about the cracking of crypto keys by googles quantum computer.  What whale with $1Bn+ in crypto wouldnt be scared?  Of the possibility that a backroom hacker in google is going to 'pop' their key?  So I think there is an uneasinees in the whales minds right now that we dont really know about.

I was even going to offer BBP to write a quantum proof bit extension to future proof our wallet from quantum hacking, but the downside is then every place we have a private key we would be incompatible with bitcoin.  So I think we leave this on the back burner for a while longer, and keep thinking of alternative solutions.

Its a shame we have some type of liquidity bot running on SX.
After expirimenting with it (the last day our volume was over 100MM), I found that its basically placing orders (faster than humans) at 1 sat below our price, and any BBP it successfully buys it puts an order in to sell the same BBP immediately 1 sat higher than our price (prostituting us).

What this has done is created a very bleak future for us, as all coins sold cheap always get bought by the bot, and we now have this 90+ MM deficit in the order book to be sold (before we are free again to move around).

In contrast to real buy and hold investors - in the old environment - who used to get our cheap coins and hold on to them.

Hopefully this liquidity bot will cease to be active on our ticker.  I like it the old way where we had a free market.

The other thing people probably dont realize is I think 95% of the order book buys on SX are actually bot orders (IE they dont have intention to buy BBP, those orders are in just to prostitute us).  Basically meaning our real order book is only about 1 MM bbp (a tiny figure).

Hopefully, some angel investor will come and buy 90MM bbp and clear it out, but id rather see the bot shut down also.

If we go down 1 more sat, maybe the bot will sell half its holdings if its close to bankruptcy etc.

The other thing that concerns me is (this is speculation) most likely, Tokok users are buying cheap and selling on SX (feeding this machine) to make the environment worse (as I saw the problem increase quickly since Tokok came online).

Hahaha!

I have been following the Kanye Sunday Services a little, and I read a review from a Messianic Jew that attended the last one and he gave it a quite favorable review.
He said for 2 hours they really gave their heart to Jesus in the music, and were all extremely talented, and Kanye was an extension of the musicians rather than the main guy to receive all the fame.

I watched a prophecy a couple weeks ago about Kanye, and the lady said in the dream, the Kanye Sunday 'era' hes going through isnt really glorifying Jesus, but eventually he will come to Christ in a stronger way.  She basically said Kim K is not at all Christian and Kanye is trying to become a Christian and being held back by her.

Im not here to judge anyone so more power to him that he got this off the ground.  People cant become college Christians overnight anyway, we all have to go through baby steps as its a true change of heart.

How do we get BiblePay to go viral?

Slovakia could hold up a BiblePay banner along the highway?

I randomly googled about billboards, in Dallas TX it costs $1,250-$2,500 to rent a large billboard for 4 weeks

Lol, this has got to be the funniest comment since the early days!

that smart contracts=POG working with bugs

No, its not a bug, its user error (I believe).

It is not a bug, just takes some extra reading to understand.

Rob -- I take it isn't easy to gather up all the PoG tithes from 149055 to 149259 and pay it out on 149260?

I don't know, but out of curiosity why would we "gather them up" and do it?

Some peoplae are confused by PoG tithing and the reward timing. If the Smart Contract Reward pays out soon after tithing (e.g. tithes from 149055 to 149259 are paid out in 149260), that is easier to grasp for people. Do you agree?

Well, the current GSC superblock ruleset is this way to prevent fork risk; it cannot be modified; what can be done is things can be done to make it easier to understand; like what block range people are in, etc.

So, I couldn't get the wallet to fully sync, so I used Rob's command addnode 198.46.160.252 onetry and that certainly got me attached to peers and finalized sync'ing. Thanks for that Rob. However, my new problem is that each backup wallet.dat I attempt to use all show 0 BBP and no transactions in my list. I've already tried rescanning for lost transactions and such in the wallet. Any thoughts on where to begin to get that fixed again? Sorry for late replies. I've been on the road all day today driving all over the state I live in for work.

Edit: I have used wallet.dat backups all the way back in August before I had troubles even.

Edit2: I may have fixed it. Found another set of backups and the file sizes were much larger. I'm syncing one of them now and it looks promising.

Sure, no problem, let us know if that didn't fix it.  The only thing that comes to mind here - is please ensure you use the wallet.dat that was brought over from biblepay classic to Evo - as we had to manually move the wallet.dat when we all upgraded to Evo.  If you already moved it, then disregard this notice.

P2PB2B just another fake volume exchange getting exchanges doesn't increase value better off getting the word out there using ads or something else than to pay another big listing fee

Yeah, unfortunately we have to pay off the Tokok deal for a while, so the budget for a new exchange is 0, unless we find some really killer deal.

I agree, we need to get down to our roots now and appeal to the masses Smiley.  Its time for a grass roots effort for growth.

We got a listing offer from p2pb2b exchange,
Ive posted details in Pre-Proposal section of the BiblePay forums
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?board=12.0

=

Our Exchanges:

- SouthXchange (Argentina, Spanish support, no KYC)
- Tokok (British Virgin Islands, Asian support, just listed)
- CryptoBridge (U.S., changed update policy on us so trust is low, now has mandatory KYC)

Shutdown:

- CoinExchange.io (shutting down Dec 1st)
- C-CEX
- QIEX
- CoinsMarkets (exit scam)

I replied with my 2 cents.
I appreciate you trying though; but I think we may need to let the exchanges cool down for a while, unless someone has a heart to list us for free.

But the contention is that if we cap coin*age with any type of limit then it could be gamed.

Anything can be gamed, but make it hard enough and hopefully you'll get a 80/20 split (80% of people will not intentionally cheat).

"Is it better to be clubby with no users" or "be with a botnet and a lot of new users"

If you want to make it easy for people to participate, remove the barriers. New BBP member should be ready to go in less than 7 minutes after wallet download and sync. No ABN, no set up for pool mining. Provide a default biblepay.conf that has everything they need to start mining. GSC could be easier to setup too, but it'd be at the cost of other features. Documentation is good up to point, but making it so easy documentation is minimal.

Well... This is going to sound funny but I have never even known of these guides that were out there and have been part of the community for close to 4 months.

Let's put a readme.txt that points to all the relevant links. Include this in the same folder as biblepay-qt.exe is. Last part of the Windows installation is a checkbox (default on) that asks to open the readme.txt

Put FAQ items on a screen on in overview. Mining yes/no, abninfo, solo vs pool mining, hash per second, current abn weight (exec getabnweight 125000 1), etc.

Here's a sample biblepay.conf I would use.
Code:

# -------
# mining
# fill this in explaining what each settings and numbers mean
# ------
gen=1
genproclimit=-1
minersleep=325

# -----
# generic smart contract (gsc)
# -----
disablegsctransmission=1
pog_coinagepercentage=-1
pog_foundationdonation=-1
healing_coinagepercentage=-1
healing_foundationdonation=-1
cameroon-one_coinagepercentage=-1
cameroon-one_foundationdonation=-1
gscclientminerfrequency=43200
changequantity=10

I agree with everything in this post after the first sentence, I think this is a very good post and very valuable advice.

However I have a very strong disagreement with this:
Rob: But the contention is that if we cap coin*age with any type of limit then it could be gamed.
Sun: Anything can be gamed, but make it hard enough and hopefully you'll get a 80/20 split (80% of people will not intentionally cheat).

No, we cannot do that.  The element that you underestimate within that logic allows one single bad actor (and they will come) to circumvent the entire reward set for all the rest, and that ends up lowering the integrity of the entire coin (and once that happens it has no value at all, and then people dont trust you).

Right now, we have fully reconcilable emissions going in a hard way to sanctuaries who provide service, to heat miners who officially mined real POBH blocks, to POOM miners who really sponsored children, and finally to POG users who really tithed.  All coin*age given back is reconcilable 100%.  So the environment is 100% trustworthy right now.  I would never want it any other way.  However, the environment has the barriers you mentioned above, and the financial entry barriers.

So another words, I assert that a coin distribution model cannot be "leaky" or "hackable" with any less than 100% integrity.  Im still open to ideas for spreading the money from the rich to the poor (similar to the coin*age cap idea etc), but so far there hasnt been any.

Also, on the "anything can be gamed" comment:  Not true.  We cannot be gamed right now, because the model is not flawed.
