701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need some Altcoin to hold longterm :D on: January 31, 2018, 01:13:38 PM
Hi everyone,
Im a newbie, i just known about Bitcoin in 1 month. I decided to spend my money that i have saved for a long time in Bitcoin. Please tell me some name of Altcoin, i want hold it until i marry.

Thanks for all response

Just pay attention at VeChain — VEN and Raiblocks — XRB. These altcoins are not as popular as Ethereum, but they can make a great jump up this year. Certainly, invest into ETH and NEO. Ripple is supposed to strengthen its positions although it is not a real alt.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Total bitcoins limit on: January 31, 2018, 12:59:24 PM
Is total bitcoins limit is a software limitation, or there are mathematical barriers to make this limit bigger?
if I'm not mistaken there would only be a total of 21M bitcoin to be generated via hash or the miners. Not sure what would happen to the value by then.

As I suppose when this limit is reached, Bitcoin will not die, but it will be not so expensive like now. Yes, BTC will live on the market of crypto, but its positions will be weakened by more powerful crypto, for instance Ethereum.
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm officially sick of the bitcoin price right now... on: January 31, 2018, 12:56:02 PM
.. so I've been watching and reading about btc technical analysis almost daily now, and I'm kind of sick of being in this current triangle.  I've only been in btc since September so I really don't have that much history, but for those who have been in btc much longer - how much longer do you think it will take before btc goes back on the upward trend again?  It just seems like a really long sideways movement.

On Dec 17th, it reached its high of $20k, and it has taken almost a month and we're still below those numbers.  What is your estimate for when we can be above $20k again and onward to what people predict for this year ($50k-$100k)?  Another month?  March?

I know nobody knows for sure, but just looking to hear about what people's gut feel is (and only from those who have btc experience over a year please).

Thanks.
I am still hoping bitcoin will increase its price again this year for about $20k, but don't expect too much. Expecting too much can hurt you in the end. Just stay focus in the average price of $20k ATH's before expecting more than that. No one knows when it will rise again hopefully by February or March.

You are right. I am also not so very much happy with BTC fall, but I am waiting for its 20-25 thousand rates in 2018.
704  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: January 31, 2018, 12:53:35 PM
By reading all these post I am depressed. I hope it won't happen as stated in some posts. I take these are precautions to keep in mind.

Right - keep this information in your mind, but never be depressed with it. Just go ahead with crypto currency: trade! Sooner or later you'll get the profit.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bloody Markets on: January 31, 2018, 12:49:28 PM
most of cryptocurrency are red for now and down in USD terms,, especially bitcoin
at this moment bitcoin price down below 10K USD depends on coinmarketcap data

is this the best time to buy more bitcoin ?

Yes, this is the best variant. I am sure this is the perfect time to but Bitcoin and most of altcoins that you were going to deal with before. Just use this moment as soon the market will be up and   the price of crypto will jump.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice for Newbies - Day trading VS Long Term - POLL on: January 30, 2018, 09:19:54 AM
I know this has been looong way discutated arrund here but I did not saw a poll for this and to know how the bitcointalk community.

A few words for your choise will also help, cheers!

The best option for a successful trader is the long-term investment. However, here you should prepare to be VERY patient. Once you can see your altcoin has grown, you can wish to sell it. Try to restrain yourself and wait for the bigger profits.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain BTC values to co-worker on: January 30, 2018, 09:14:20 AM
Hey guys I'm pretty new so forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this; recently in my office my coworkers started talking about crypto and Bitcoin. All of them knew about it but they didn't really understand why it is so expensive, I explained them that it's basically supply and demand and that there is a limited supply but they didn't really understand how someone can put that much value onto a currency which is backed by a corporation or government. Do you have any idea how I can explain them better that Bitcoin is representative for crypto and it's gonna be changing a lot of our daily lives?

The value of a cryptocurrency is defined as the value of any other commodity that can be exchanged. Everything depends on demand and on supply. While the number of people wishing to buy grow more rapidly than rates of mining, the price is growing.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most important member of a team in an ICO on: January 30, 2018, 09:06:23 AM
I think everything is important, because to succeed an ICO, all aspects must work together for the development of a project, but I think that the role of an ICO is a successful marketing expert, because they ICO got investors for development

But you need a successful product to market in the first place though. So it's kinda hard to say.

This is a very curious question. I can guess that there is no one person in an ICO that can be called the main one. CEO will not do anything without blockchain specialists, and financial experts should also cooperate with them. ICO the successful one must have a team of professionals that work all together.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin future on: January 30, 2018, 09:01:50 AM
For some altcoins 6 month of holding is not the time enough to get profit. Which alts do you hold? Some coins, especially Cardano and Qtum gained a LOT during this period. Ethereum is also a good gainer. Alts will be widely used in future in my opinion!

Try to use the simplest words and comparisons. If you know blockchain technology pretty well, draw a scheme and show it to your co-worker. You can offer him to watch one of YouTube videos for a newbie, for instance this one:

711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTuber's using marketing schemes toward bitcoin on: January 30, 2018, 08:53:14 AM
Youtube is the number one place for bullshitters to shill their holdings. You know they don't have as much money as they claim because they choose to put multiple ads in their videos. If they had as much money as they say, they wouldn't count on ad revenue. Also, once they post a video, a massive pump (depends on their audience) is created. It's frustrating.

To my mind, these guys earn well on their videos as they advertise different stuff. However, I often find very useful information exactly on YouTube. Bloggers are the first people who react on different changes in the world of crypto.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees.. on: January 30, 2018, 08:50:15 AM
Hi, Do you think is tehre any interest to reduce the transaction fees for bitcoin? Many alts are focusing on speed and low fees while bitcoin has made little effort.
The lightning network will come soon and the speed of the transactions will rise and the fees will be low.
Its just a matter of time.

I have been hearing this for quite some time now (around three months?). I have lost my confidence in the core team. First, they went back on the NYA and sabotaged the SegWit2X implementation. And then they delayed the implementation of the lightning network. The fee remains extremely high, and as a result Bitcoin is losing its market dominance.

Naturally, the fees for Bitcoin transactions should be reduced. It goes without saying. Exchanges do not do it, but I hope that cryptobanks will solve this problem, and BTC operations will be cheaper.
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Litecoin die? on: January 30, 2018, 08:46:07 AM
I do not think so. Litecoin is a very good and fast crypto, and many traders have already got their profit dealing with it. Some experts believe that LTC price can be tripled even. The similar information can be found in this video:

714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most overvalued coin? on: January 30, 2018, 08:44:53 AM
In my opinion, All hard fork coins of Bitcoin are the most overvalued cryptocurrency, copying Bitcoin source code and labeling it with another name that has "Bitcoin" on its name, with almost whole supply are pre-mined that are being distributed to all people that holds Bitcoin so that it will have a value coming from thin air, especially Bitcoin Cash that is trading over $1000 without having any use. Another overvalued cryptocurrency is Stellar Lumens, it is just a copy of Ripple so I can't see any special about this cryptocurrency, and it is now #6 in market cap lol.

I will not agree with the viewpoint of the author of this post. Ethereum true price is larger, and it is not undervalued. In my opinion, Bitcoin Gold is the cryptocurrency that should not cost so much.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero on: January 29, 2018, 09:02:06 AM
I see that Monero is trading over $300 and there's only 18 million coins. I would assume that it has a chance to run up to $3-$5 grand per coin. Is it a good buy at its current price and where do you see it going? Thanks!!

Monero is going up very quickly. It is gaining constantly, and even during the market fall the altcoin did not lose much. Hurry up to buy it otherwise its value will be great, and you will be late. XMR has brilliant future.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swap bitcoin to alts on: January 29, 2018, 08:57:31 AM
Most of traders that do the same thing (deal with different altcoins) get more profit than those guys, who invest only into Bitcoin. I might also swap some of my BTC into alts, picking the most promising ones, NEO, LEND, Waves etc.
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy and Hold 100 Cryptocurrencies for 5 Years – Official Thread on: January 29, 2018, 08:53:20 AM
Hello Everyone,

I started an experiment on cryptocurrencies and I will be posting on this thread the updates.

As the title says the experiment consists of buying the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap and holding them for 5 years. I spent $1000 and bought $10 of each.

You can see the main article about the experiment from https://buyandhold100crypto.com/buy-and-hold-100-crypto-for-5-years-the-experiment/

The latest article was made yesterday, where after 10 days the gain on the initial investment was doubled Day 10

Feel free to suggest me anything

Thanks a lot

I remember I have already read something like this. Probably it will really work. Suppose that there is 80% probability of a success here. However, there is also the simplest way to pick alts: check their cap and hold top-10 of them. Or top 20.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Freedom for ICOs?!?! on: January 29, 2018, 08:52:37 AM
Although I cannot imagine the situation when cryptocurrency is regulated, these ICO project must be controlled. Too many people have already lost millions of dollars as they invested into scam projects.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: January 29, 2018, 08:36:19 AM
DID EVERYONE SURVIVE THE GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION OF JAN 2018???

Yes, I have survived. Moreover — I decided to buy the altcoins I trust most of all (NEO, Cardano, Ethereum, EOS, IOTA, Qtum). I am sure their value will sufficiently grow close to spring (suppose, it will be May).
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Helping a Beginner on: January 29, 2018, 07:02:44 AM
Someone I know wants to meet with me to talk about BTC and crypto.
want to get into it.
What would you recommend be the step 1? for them to approach?

My recommendation is to become an active user of this Forum: here many experienced traders share their experience with the other guys. You can also go to YouTube and subscribe to one of channels devoted to crypto, for instance, this one:
