7001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 18, 2018, 10:29:04 AM
Breaking news as Mourinho has been sacked. We all saw it coming at the end of the season but right now before January? 2 games away from mid season is not really wise but then again, hard to find worse situations than to keep a toxic wound festering. Probably amputation now is best.

Not much news and no quotes but I wonder if it's too much to think Zizou will come to manage? Man Utd go for big names rather than unproven visionaries.
With their results, it's not surprise that Mou was sacked before Christmas. I didn't believed that he can stay in his job until the end of season.
MU announced that now they're looking only for caretaker for remaining part of this season, probably it will be Carrick. But for the next season Zizou name comes first to my mind also.
7002  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: December 18, 2018, 12:44:02 AM
I think Wetsuit does not prefer users signing into Freebitco.in with Gmail accounts, because they are very easy to create and they are also frequently hacked. I have seen several people complaining about security exploits on their accounts, when they use Gmail as their webmail provider. <A lot of the bot accounts also signup with Gmail accounts for services like this.>

So, it is actually better if people use more secure email providers to protect their Freebitcoin accounts... right?
How did you got that conclusion about Gmail. I suppose that majority of freebitco.in users had signed up with gmail, and it's not strange as Gmail is the most popular email service in the world. It's easy to create gmail account, but it's same thing with all major email services like Yahoo, Outlook and others - accounts creation is easy on all of them. What you're offering to use, because I don't see any difference. I only remember one problem with Freebitco.in and emails - Mail.ru blocked email messages from freebitco.in and users were forced to change it. For abusers probably it would be easiest to use services like Yopmail, but I'm not sure that this email is allowed on Freebitco.in
And I'm not sure why you're saying that Gmail isn't safe. It's unsafe if you don't care about security and use weak passwords, no 2FA and etc. But in such cases you're always unsafe, no matter which email service you're using Smiley
7003  Economy / Reputation / Re: Begging merit via PM. Really annoying to me. on: December 18, 2018, 12:30:36 AM
Does these people really expect that someone will give them merits after they beg for it via PM?
Personally I also get some messages from merit beggars, but I don't bother to report it in public. I rather send them message with some offensive words or I just ignore these beggars. Merit begging isn't that big issue in my opinion as scaming or account sales for example, it's just annoying.
7004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: December 17, 2018, 04:02:59 PM
Well, things aren't that fancy in Europa league draw. Probably most interesting pair is Lazio vs Sevilla. Meanwhile Chelsea and Arsenal got probably easiest possible opponents. There are few other pairs which looks pretty interesting, like Sporting - Villarreal, Zenit - Bayer, Celtic - Valencia or Galatasaray - Benfica, but these teams aren't among main favourites to win UEL.

Zenit is playing vs Fenerbahce, Bayer - vs Krasnodar.

Yeah, my bad, thanks. Fixed.

@tomahawk9, I really can't understand logic of these LFC fans. Maybe Bayern aren't that this season so far, but it's strange how they can feel relieved after drawing this team. It's still top class team, even if their results aren't perfect so far. There are almost 2 months until match, lot of things can change until it as you say.
7007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: December 17, 2018, 11:47:00 AM
So, Champions league round of 16 teams were drawn. My thoughts and predictions for it. Team which will advance further in my opinion is bolded.
Schalke vs Man City - Simply no questions there.
Atletico Madrid vs Juventus - Juve are favorites, but I wish that Atleti would advance further. Very interesting pair.
Man Utd vs PSG - I don't see how current MU can beat PSG.
Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund - We can expect beautiful matches and lot of goals in this pair. I think Dortmund will win, because Tote usually failing in playoff stages.
Lyon vs Barcelona - Barca is obvious favorites.
Roma vs Porto - Roma, but I wouldn't understimate Porto, they collected biggest number of points this year, but they played in weak group.
Ajax vs Real Madrid - Real should advance further, but Ajax is very dangerous team and Real is very unstable this year.
Liverpool vs Bayern Munich - best pair in this round. It's difficult to predict something. Now Liverpool looks better, but things may change until February.
This year round of 16 looks very interesting, because there are any small teams advanced from group stage.
Europa league draw will begin in 15 minutes.
7008  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which is the best and safest bitcoin wallet?? on: December 17, 2018, 12:06:18 AM
The second best thing to go is of course desktop wallets which are also free like electrum, at least with this kinds of wallets you can trust to hold your BTC for long term purposes.
You're right that desktop wallets are much better choice than online wallets. But still, it's not safest. You can lose all your BTC that you hold if your PC will be infected with virus or malware. I would say that paper wallets would be better choice if you're planning to hold BTC in long term. And offcourse, if you have a lot of BTC and you're planning to use it - get a hardware wallet. But if you have only $100-200 in BTC, then it's not worth to buy hardware wallet.

Sorry for posting here as you expect replies from Newbies only. But I'm surprised that there are 0 replies on this topic 5 hours since you started it. And then people complaining that's difficult to get Merits, there is discrimination against Newbies and etc. Now they have great chance to get easy Merit, but seems that nobody whant to get it. Why? Maybe these people who are usually complaining don't have any quality posts to show...

7011  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: malwarebytes detecting trojan on bitmain.com on: December 16, 2018, 12:13:39 AM
I have checked Bitmain website recently on several browsers both on my PC and smartphone and I didn't this warning (I use Avast antivirus). Maybe they already solved this issue. Are you sure that your device is clean?
7012  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Importance of having a proper campaign manager on: December 16, 2018, 12:09:20 AM
The rule is simple: Forum should have their own set of dedicated campaign managers who are allowed to manage a campaign. Any rank below Hero member should be restricted from managing campaigns.
I agree that only managers approved by forum staff should be allowed to manage campaigns. But I'm not sure that users below Hero rank should be permitted from managing campaigns.
The signature campaigns are getting deteriorate day by day,so we don't need any more new campaign managers and the current best managers are very free at their management services for now.

We just need the managers who can completely avoid spams but most of the bounty managers allows that to happens so having new one will make the conditions more worse.
You're probably right if you talk about Bitcoin paying campaigns. Number of Bitcoin paying campaigns are getting smaller and smaller eventually. New campaigns appears rarely and it runs for short time only. There are several long term campaigns left which are running for years. Probably such type of advertising isn't that effective, considrring big expenses. Especially when you can pay for advertising with tokens made from thin air.
Now there are enough professional managers and way too many "managers". The problem that mostly ICO projects prefere to hire "managers", probably because their services are cheaper. But it's likely that in future they will lose this job - we see number of ICO's getting smaller every month, and there are less money collected in these ICO's. But I wouldn't be surprised if ICO markets will revive if new bitcoin bull run will begin.

7014  Other / Meta / Re: 🌎 Bitcointalk international 🌎 on: December 15, 2018, 12:41:19 AM
Interesting numbers. I knew that Russian is the most active local board in Bitcointalk, but I'm really surprised that almost 50% of non English posts where made in this board.
I thought that Philippines is one of the most active nations on Bitcointalk, but it's strange that their board isn't that active as I expected. Maybe it means that they're mainly posting in English boards, even if they don't know this language very well.
South Korea and Japan are very advanced and crypto friendly countries, their markets have big impact to crypto world in general, but it's strange that there aren't many people from these countries on Bitcointalk. Maybe someone knows why?
About China - 8.5% is probably not bad numbers, considering that Chinese people have to pass The Great Firewall of China - it's not very easy as I had read somewhere.
7015  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Lets have a dedicated sub-forum for crypto exchanges on: December 15, 2018, 12:17:34 AM
I'll agree with you that the altcoin section could do with more categories to be able to better organize the section, and make it more viewable. However, it does have quite a few already, and this is a Bitcoin forum after all. However, I'm not sure if the inactivity of the Exchanges section is because of lack of visibility. I don't know about you, but I know almost every single section, and their child boards, and I could probably recite the order from top to bottom. Excluding local boards.
Lack of visibility may be one of reasons why this section aren't very active, I predict. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.
About altcoin board - I think it's too messy, because everything is mixed here in one place. I think that having more specific board in altcoin section would help to improve this board. Now all altcoin services are posted in one place - exchanges, various coin ranking services, ICO listing, tools related to bounties and etc. I don't even talk about Altcoin discussion board - if you want to start serious topic with technical questions, your topic soon will be burried by generic altcoin threads. Yes, it's Bitcoin forum, but you can't deny fact that Altcoins is important part of forum and whole crypto industry. Even theymos said that he isn't against creating more specific altcoin child boards, but I'm not sure why he still didn't made it.
Personally, I rarely visit Altcoin section mainly because of mess here. To find something interesting there I have to search hardly.
7016  Other / Meta / Re: The forum now has more than 2 500 000 users! Congratulations! on: December 14, 2018, 03:19:19 PM
Why are you here then of you hate it so much? It is not perfect and not with pretty grafics but it is a place for many coins to start their new journey. Good people can be found too, you know. I hope you see them even if you are buried under a ton of your cynicism.
Well, he just stated a fact - these 2.5 million registered users aren't real number of forum users. Bots, banned accounts, alts, brand new users with 0 posts... I don't know where you see hate in his post. It would be interesting to know how many real users Bitcointalk have. And offcourse, despite some negative aspects, bitcointalk is the best crypto community on internet.

7018  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi Desktop on: December 13, 2018, 11:58:46 PM
If it's true what TryNinja posted, it's great news. People waited for Coinomi desktop wallet for years. In my opinion it's a great option for users who can't afford or don't want to buy hardware wallets for some reasons. There aren't many multi currency desktop wallets in market. Basically, it's only Jaxx and Exodus. Now there will be another choice.
7019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: December 13, 2018, 11:52:17 PM
Biggest surprise in Europa league so far - Milan eliminated after group stage by Olympiakos. They lost to Opympiakos 3:1 in decisive match. Also, Rangers of Steven Gerrard eliminated by Rapird Vien, but I'm not sure that we can call it as surprise.
There are few surprising results like MOL Vidi 2:2 Chelsea or Dudelange 0:0 Betis, but it's mainly because big clubs played in reserve squads today.
And IMO biggest disappointment in tournament - Marseille, last place in group with 1 point only.
Draw of UCL and UEL playoffs will be held on Monday.
