7021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN on Move Again !!! on: January 15, 2018, 07:49:50 PM
What would be the price of bitcoin in the end of January, Will bitcoin make another record or this would be a small pump???
Opinions Needed..?

My prediction is 20k $ again or above ..!!!

Still early to tell dude. Its just above $14K last time I checked coinmarketcap. Looks like just a small pump. However, it could be another consolidation leading up to another bull run. Let's see how it goes if it crosses $15K in the next few days, I think we are in for another rally, however, if it continues to move around the $13K-$14K then this looks like a small pump. Investors just constantly moving their funds around from bitcoin to altcoin ecosystem.

I am agree with you but Bitcoin will be 50k$ soon now bitcoin stable and altcoin pump.So just wait for 6 month bitcoin play game again and break all record

LOL. Let's just be realistic here. I say let's target $20K. This has been a big barrier to break, if we ever surpass it up to the end of the month, then it will open up a lot of possibilities in the future.

Hi,

The exchanges I saw till now demands a copy of my ID card to let my buy or sell anything. Is there anyone that dont ask for it? Im not happy with let my ID through internet, and I dont know how can they do with it. Is it possible to do antoher way?

Thanks

Its for you own safety and I doubt that the exchanges will share its database to another party. Well there's are exchanges that don't require you to submit your ID, like Binance for example.

I don't think that they will share you ID from third party because it won't bring any benefits on their end.

Its possible but only upto a certain extent. Like Most of the exchanges have 1 BTC withdrawal limit for unverified accounts. While for some exchanges like Binance the limit is 2 BTC. Except that you can prefer decentralized exchange if you aim to trade higher amounts but decentralized exchanges have their own demerits ranging from low volume, poor interface and lack of customer support.

I don't think that I can get to withdraw even 1 bitcoin so Binance is a safe play for me to trade, although lately they seems to be laggy. As for the decentralized exchange, yes it has advantage and disadvantage specially the lack of customer support.
7023  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: my ether wallet can be hacked??/ on: January 12, 2018, 10:27:04 PM
With the massive number of people joining the crypto sphere, hackers and online criminals are really targeting us. MEW already put up a lot of advisory on their website on how not to get hack. However, they are still users complaining that they MEW wallet has been compromised. If they just followed every steps, I don't think that a hack can be possible.

The first thing to check before entering your private key is the website itself. Better bookmark it, so that it can prevent you from typing it directly, which 5 out of 10 you will get it wrong. And don't just click anything you see interesting in the Internet. Chances are, you are going to be phished. Its really up to us on how not to be hacked, its our own responsibility.
7024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices have decreased sharply on: January 12, 2018, 10:07:21 PM
what exactly did the south korea government decide ?

Its still up, and I don't think they have made the decision to turn it back to crypto. So there's a lot of FUD surrounding their decision. Last time I heard, there was a petition among locals to the South Korean government not to ban bitcoin. Although we can't deny that something is going on with the South Korean trading exchanges. They are almost at a premium price. That's why government is likely looking at that issue and the decision hinges on what they are going to find out.

We have this seen this before. When China suddenly suspends its trading platform around March and investigate if there's serious manipulation behind. I just hope that South Korea government though doesn't follow the footsteps of its neighbor and suddenly shutdown everything related to cryptocurrency. We are going to be affected by it for sure.
7025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should focus more on saving bitcoins than selling your bitcoins on: January 11, 2018, 07:20:33 PM
I believe bitcoin will increase in value and that is definitely a reason to hold. However in the long term there is a risk that too many people hold and new comers won't invest in bitcoin, retailers won't adopt bitcoin, and then what is the point of a currency you can't use? Bitcoin needs to be available to buy and trade if the currency is to survive.

That's why bitcoin is really turning to be just another investment platform. At the beginning no one would thought that the price could go as high as $20K? And when the big whales and big boys join the market, suddenly the rules has changed. It now becomes a store of wealth.

But for us casual investors who have small amounts stash in our wallet, I believed that its better to hold for long term and not sell our coins. Because we are small and we want to really earn a huge financial profit. We can only see this happening if we will just hold and save some, but at the same time have a extra coin that we are going for trading purposes only and do not touch the coins that are for the long haul.
7026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LITECOIN WILL SKYROCKET TO THE MOON! on: January 11, 2018, 06:50:53 PM
I don't think that will be happen bro.. Skyrocket thing past, that was $70 and you had to catch it that time. I got from $70 and sell from $313 when LTC founder Charlie Lee announced that he is selling all his Litecoins. So i think to buy LTC now would be a big mistake.. Anyway good luck to all..

I also bought at 70$, but I am still holding. Why would it be a mistake to buy now? Charlie Lee sold all his LTC, but I still believe he has done it with good intentions.

He is involving himself to another project that's why he sold all his Litecoin and he even confirmed that its not a big chunk of Litecoin. He is moving to another project that will conflict with Litecoin, another reason for his departure. Although its really hard not to speculate that the price of Litecoin will go down when he exited, which is what we are seeing right now.

I also bought Litecoin around $40, I just had a hunched that its going to be pump but I have also exited at the top price and didn't bother to invest on it again because of the Lee departure.

But yeah, its really very fast based on my experience, it bitcoin could be like that, the price of it could be beyond $20K but today. Anyways, let's see how it goes for Litecoin. it has huge potential, its just a matter of time again before it will be pump and push the price to new all time highs.
7027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cash on: January 11, 2018, 06:20:00 PM
BCash is fake bitcoin, which supported by Korea, it`s... copper? Look at markets, where Bcash is trading now... Bithumb! BCASH = very big pump, no more.

There are a lot of supporters of BCH not only South Korea. Its just the trading platform their is conducive to pump and pump coins like we have seen lately in Ripple. That's why coinmarketcap delisted South Korean trading platform to it's global average price. South Korean exchanges listed almost all coins at a premium price.

Where will be BCH if Lightning protocol will be applied to BTC ? Who will need it , or buy it ? I doubt bitcoin cash have a good long-term perspectives , but this is crypto , so everything could happen .
Lightning won't make any miracles overnight.
Its a slow process companies like coinbase, bitpay, coin payments etc should enable lightning network support if the wide adoption wants to take place. I'm not a BCH fan but still lightning won't solve all problems instantly.

Of course it will not resolved everything in an instant. I'm sure that if its deployed, so much questions needs to be answered. But it will at least a good direction to begin with. A lot of stakes is already in the line if we can't find a solution to the every growing issues of high fees and slow confirmation.
7028  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia whats up? on: January 11, 2018, 05:47:54 PM
interesting. so does that mean some of us small traders are irrelevant to the industry?

No, we, casual traders are relevant as big whales, small or big traders have a way to contribute to the booming of cryptocurrency. So think that we are immaterial as far as trading volumes is concern.

I do not know why Cryptopia has suspended LITECOIN markets, but what I do know is that a lot of exchanges have scaling up problems and cannot cope with the demands and new wave/influx of people coming into these cryptocurrency trading markets. I suspect they may be doing this to free up their trade engine for the more highly traded markets like Ethereum and Bitcoin, this is my take on this matter.

This is also what I'm thinking. Litecoin had it's day. But Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are now the dominant trading coins. Maybe they are just freeing up their engine to accommodate those big 3 right now. Although Litecoin is still at high price, its values keeps going down. Just my assumption. Maybe we can here what's the reason behind in the coming days.
7029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth is pumping incredibly, Should I sell or hold tight? on: January 10, 2018, 02:59:59 PM

Hello Everyone,
I  feel so happy when ethereum price pump! I have some eth,  I don't know is this the right time to sell? or need I hold for more time?

Please suggest me. Thank You everyone

No one for sure when to know what the top price not just of Ethereum but just like other coins. The best thing to do is to look and read news about Ethereum. Bitcoin is going down, and for sure those who are dumping it and moving to Ethereum. That's a good sign for me. However, when you see that there's a lot of FUD surrounding Ethereum, better be prepared to sell it because FUD scares people away.

I still have some Ethereum as well and I was quite surprise that I have like gain 1/3 of my initial invesments. And there another wallet that I have that have dust amounts, like .08 ETH that has gain value overtime as well.

But I would advise to just really hold on it long term. Ethereum is shaping to be the best coins for me so far, not unless bitcoin solves its scalability issues, Ethereum will always a good coin to invest long term.
7030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Business pressing Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2018, 02:08:37 PM
According to some sources, Microsoft has restored the bitcoin payment after reaching an agreement with their provider (most likely Bitpay).
source: http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/technology/microsoft-restores-bitcoin-payments-after-working-to-ensure-lower-amounts-would-be-redeemable/news-story/1c875957f470944709497dcfa6ec5fd2
but of course, this won't get a lot of press coverage because the media only cares about the negative news about bitcoin.

Either way, with all the problems bitcoin is facing, I doubt any big company wants to implement bitcoin as a payment method. And not only BTC but also other cryptocurrencies since most of the time the usual statement against adding bitcoin (aside from high fee and long confirmation times) is volatility, something that every cryptocurrency faces in the crypto market.

If this is true then Microsoft is really pushing bitcoin to gain mainstream. Them stops accepting bitcoin just a few days ago took the market to another dip, although its says that is only temporary. Maybe this is want they are doing behind, working with provider, which I have to agree that it will be Bitpay.

Steam as I have said that volatility and the high cost of transaction was the main reason behind shutting down it acceptance of bitcoin. But if they would do the same route as Microsoft (trying to give a service provider), I'm sure that they will start accepting bitcoin in the future.
7031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft Removes Bitcoin on: January 10, 2018, 12:15:28 PM
why Microsoft Removes Bitcoin as Payment Option for Microsoft Storew?

Yes, the stop bitcoin as payment because of the same reason that everyone here is bitching about, high cost of fees and very slow confirmations. I can't imagine any companies now accepting bitcoin because of that issues. Even Steam, who have been an advent supporter of bitcoin stop its support because its not viable business wise.

However, as I understand it, Microsoft decision is only temporary. However, if the dramatic increase in the fees to process a transaction can't be answered, there will be a lot of business that will driven to make the same move as Steam and Microsoft.

I'm not aware though if they would open its doors for altcoins such as Litecoin or any other coins in general.
7032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherium crazy growth!!! on: January 10, 2018, 10:56:38 AM
Have you ever been worried about the crazy growth in the Etherium transaction price?

Of course, we have seen this before in bitcoin market, around the first two weeks of Dec. last year to be precise. So its somewhat very scary because we all know what's gonna happen next, there will be a serious dump causing the price of Ethereum to plummet. I'm not saying that you should sell right now, but you need to be vigilant and watch how the market will move in the next couple of day. I myself have already profited and I'm still holding some stash (< 1 ETH) that's why I'm watching a close eye on it.

But we need to understand that ICO's are mostly Ethereum and ERC20 token which is based on Ethereum as well. That's why the price keeps going up. But I don't like the idea that the price surge is due to the ICO's. There are a lot of companies looking at Ethereum smart contracts.

Just be watchful guys and you don't want to be trap when it goes down. Just my .2BTC.
7033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin expectation end of 2018 on: January 09, 2018, 10:43:38 AM
A trader just made a million dollar bet that Bitcoin would be over $50k by the end of 2018  A large trader (or traders) just plopped down a million dollars betting that Bitcoin would hit $50k sometime in 2018.

1 million dollar is nothing for those big whales, they have tons of money to begin with and I'm sure that if even bitcoin didn't get to over $50K by the end of the year, they wouldn't budge a bit. But it we are going to pegged the price of bitcoin to lets say $10K, it would be x5 and it looks like its possible to be met within this year.

$ 20000 is the highest price to date. I think bitcoin is in need of stability and upgrading because the bitcoin trading speed is slow. If possible in 2018, the bitcoin will reach $ 30000.
By the end of this year, bitcoin will be at 20,000 dollars easily but if we talk about next year, bitcoin is going to cross 25, 000 dollars easily by the mid of 2018. By the end, it will be more than 30,000 dollars because the investment into bitcoin is increasing day by day and so are its prices. It is not a big deal for bitcoin to go beyond 30,000 dollars next year. I don’t think so it needs to be stable in prices at all.
I don’t really know, but I still think it will be possible. Just like in 2017, we never expected Bitcoin to reach up to that rate of $19000. Beginning of the year 2017, it was at the rate of $1000+, but within a short while, it started rising till it reached its highest and then went for a fall.

Yes, that's why I said that its really hittable. 2017 shows us how bitcoin to it, I know that its not safe to assume, but if you look at how bitcoin suddenly reaches all-time-highs last year, you will think that it will be easy for bitcoin to go to $50K or more this year. Maybe it can surpass it mid-year, when everyone started to renewed their interest on bitcoin and push its price to levels who never think is possible is short amount of time. Let's wait and see.
7034  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price prediction on: January 09, 2018, 10:19:26 AM
it will go up and down in jan?
In current market scenario is fluctuating in this month. January is not a favour for Bitcoin price. It is decentralized cryptocurrency so whatever should happens in the market. I think it will reach 18k us dollar is possible at end of this month. In majority of the competitors are invest in Ethereum. So that coin only raise in current status. Bitcoin should be raise in slowly in market. But after April month it will reach above 25k us dollar.

If I'm not mistaken, last year, bitcoin was also stagnate around this time, but then again we can't compare last year to today's market because times have change then. I started to think that the price would start to pick up and the price are expected to rise when we touch $17K earlier this week, unfortunately it went sideways then down as of the moment.

So its really hard to predict how the market will goes, although it still dominates more than 30% of the market, there's couple of coins that are also rising very quick like Ethereum and Ripple. So for bitcoin to really remain as the top crypto's we need new sets of investors to flock and pour more money into the market. But the question is when? At least one positive news like Lightning Network implementation, as this presents the long awaited solution to the high fees and slow confirmation that we are facing right now.
7035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sold my ETH for ADA. on: January 09, 2018, 09:42:54 AM
was this a good or bad choice lol?

What the hell did you do that? Ethereum has been mooning lately and I don't know what the future of ADA is but its really a bad moved on our part. I have been lucky to get into Ethereum when it was below $500 although at that time the price is too steep but I take my chances and now its above $1K.

What did you find in ADA that would make you to decide to shift to it? Maybe you can share your thoughts so that we can see where you are coming from regarding your decision.

It doesn’t look like a healthy decision truth to be told. Ada is a risky coin to invest normally and selling your ethereum to invest in a risky coin is not good at all.

Its risky indeed, but I wanted to understand why the OP did it though. Maybe its a bad's decision on his end, but then again he see's something in ADA what we don't know. For know let's give me a slack.

Well jumping from coin to coin is never healthy process. Ether had even room to get bigger. But still ada isn't good coin. You shouldn't worry. I would suggest you to diversify more.

Exactly, it has still more room to grow this coming year. I'm holding on it for at least 6 months and see where it goes. I thought that the initial jump is purely a pump but when it hits all-time-high and surpassing 4 digit mark this year, its really hard to ignore and I'm happy was able to get in before it surges up until this moment.
7036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it required to sync desktop wallet with currency network? on: January 09, 2018, 09:12:59 AM
Hi,

Is it required to sync desktop wallet with currency network. Reason for asking is that I am syncing for Dash and its taking too much space.

Thanks and regards,

Rizwan

Did you download the official Dash Wallet? If yes, it would need to sync and you have to download the entire Dash blockchain because its uses Dash masternodes.

I think you should have used the Dash Electrum Wallet. Similar to bitcoin Electrum wallet, its lightweight and easy to used and you don't need to download the full masternodes and setup is an instant just like its wallet counterpart in bitcoin.

Dash has a mobile wallet apps as well, much convenient if you are travelling although you need to be careful to backup everything because the keys are stored on the device.

And then there's a third party wallet like:

  • Exodus
- Which I personally used.
  • Jaxx
7037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: McAfee Coin of the Week!!!! on: January 09, 2018, 08:04:20 AM
He definitely has an effect on the price of the coins....I was watching the market when his twitter feed got hacked, every time they mentioned a coin it spiked and once all his twitter followers realized he had been hacked the prices all took a pretty hefty dive. Probably best to do your own research and play the long game HODL....

Isn't he claimed that his twitter account has been hacked?  McAfee Warns of Advanced Hacking After Twitter Account Hijacking. So I don't know if we should believed everything from his twitter account if what he claims is true. I was also surprised to find out him making those bold predictions on a certain coin.

And it looks like he is now what we called manipulator as well. Previously, he only called bitcoin and his very bullish predictions on it. And even bet that he's gonna eat his disk on public if bitcoin didn't reach $500K in 3 years!. I haven't been following his tweets though, but it looks like he(hackers) has swayed a lot of investors on his favors, making millions in short amount of time.

So just be careful guys, watch every tweets coming from that account. You don't want to be trap as well if you follow every tweets as to what coins everyone should get in right now.
7038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple coin on: January 07, 2018, 07:42:55 PM
Any idea about the prize of xrp at the end of 2018?
Will it be the best coin in this year? Shocked Shocked

Good question. Here's a link for the [XRP] Ripple Speculation. You can find a lot of good posters in there and what they think would the price will be.

Personally, they just started with less than a dollar last year and started to climb as high as $3.50 and now sits as the second top coins in terms of marketcap. And they continue to have a breakout year this 2018. But there's a lot of questions regarding its actual used because for now it is setup to work as a centralized coin. And gears toward banking system or financial system usage.

However, people are really looking for bitcoin alternatives because of the current scaling issue. So Ripple might one of the options that's why investors keeps pouring money on it.

I don't have any idea how or what would be the price of Ripple at the end of the year though. If you are a investors of course you want it to grow, but I'm skeptics about its current price, seems to be overvalued to me.
7039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone is selling Electrum vulnerability script on: January 07, 2018, 05:58:32 PM
If you haven't updated already, you should do so immediately.

This was shared a few minutes ago on Twitter:  http://satoshibox.com/j5tc6hwdbp2tbs2z4h8uhcxs

I don't know if it actually works and I don't have 0.05 BTC to test it.  But I thought it may be useful for some developers to investigate.

This is to be expected. Usually, if the vulnerability was discovered in a large company's software, the trade would be on the dark net. In the case of electrum, the sale is being offered on twitter itself.
The basic safeguard most of us should take is store bitcoins for the long term on hardware wallets, or definitely not in a wallet which we use for daily use. Vulnerabilities may still be discovered, but are less likely.

Was really quite surprise that there's a vulnerability discovered on Electrum, I immediately moved my funds out as I was using a old version of Electrum. Luckily when I opened my wallet earlier, my funds is still intact but I can't moved it. I just shut it down immediately and just go online again after a few hours and successfully transferred my funds then.

This is to be expected though, usually once a vulnerability is found or exploits, it will spread like wildfires because everyone was in for the MONEY. Let's see how it goes though, I already moved everything but I haven't upgraded to the latest version. Thinking of moving to GreenAddress unless Electrum devs can tell the public that everything is fix already.

Edit: Vulnerabilities have been fixed already.
7040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About ICO on: January 07, 2018, 05:24:52 PM
Please show me how to evaluate a new ICO code. Newspapers say a lot, but I want to learn more from your experiences. Tks all.

Newspapers? You still reading newspapers up to now? Its already outdated, we have Internet. LOL.  Grin

Maybe what you mean Whitepaper? Of course, from my experience this is the first thing that you need to read. You must understand what the project is all about, like it is a unique project? Who are the teams behind? What are their roadmap? How much is the token is? Whitepaper should answer this kind of question. Another tip is always stays on the forum and see other people's evaluation of the ICO that you wanted to invest. Because there a lot of experienced investors or Legendary members like Gleb Gamow.

Just used Google my friend, you will find a lot of websites that talks about any incoming ICO and there review on it. I doubt anyone will spoon feed you with all the information. Its better you do your homework as well.
