7041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k USD in February? on: January 05, 2018, 06:05:40 PM
I think ETH can reach $ 2000 USD in february 2018 even I believe ETH can reach $ 3000 even $ 4000
As I have said in the previous thread, bitcoin can easily hit $2K this year. We don't know what time though, but for sure its possible for this year. But lets not argue when it gonna hit or even surpass $2K, it will be just a matter of time. Just continue to HODL Ethereum, not need to dump it because it has change a lot. Looks like good for long term hold similar to bitcoin.

If bitcoin does not start its run of bull again to the moon, then Ethereum can actually reach 2 000 in a couple of months. But, if bitcoin again approaches 20,000, then I do not know what will happen to the other altcoins. It all depends on bitcoin, I think.
Disagree, Ethereum has its own set of investors or shall we call fanboys. Both of them can have bullruns in the next coming weeks. Which means that investors are again flocking into the market because FOMO. As far as bitcoin getting to $20K? Its really possible, and it looks like its gaining momentum once more. Its possible that in Q1 alone bitcoin could have surpassed $20K already.
7042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETH get to? on: January 05, 2018, 05:41:25 PM
As ICO reamains hot, ETH, as the token, finally breaks $1,000 for the first time, what's you explanation for the target price? Share your analysis below.

Original analysis from Kuang Ren:

The ability to move against the overall downtrend during previous oscillation pattern at high level makes ETH the leader in this round of uptrend among major coins.

Currently, ETH is the only major coin that sets a new all-time high and moves in an independent way, which can be explained by the increasing application scenarios. ETH will fall only when ICOs stop being crazy.

Original by Kuang Ren, translated and posted by AICoin Jami.
I haven't heard of Kuang Ren but is the guy legit? I mean does he's analysis hits the mark or what?

As far as Ethereum goes, nice to see if it actually breaks the 4 digit mark, because its currently stands at $997 though in coinmarketcap, maybe other trading platforms already surpasses it. I guess it can reach as high as $2K or even more in this year. Not only banking, but a lot of institutions and ICO's are pushing the price of Ethereum specially the beginning of December. So its look like this is a different landscape for Ethereum, although I  thought that it can really break into the 4 digit, but for me its too early.

Let's see how it goes though, their seems to be a renewed interest in this coin and it looks like smart contract is slowly sipping in different sectors specially in banking industry.

Should I purchase more bitcoin and or litecoin before the new year hits or after? suggestions/opinions

also what is the cheapest/free exchanges to deposit us currency via bank or debt card
It doesn't matter when you buy bitcoin or any other altcoin. But you have to remember that you should be buying when the price is low, meaning its going red so that you can get it at a discounted price. So in this case you should have been bitcoin when the price is around $12K-$13K. Because if you are thinking of booking it today, you may have lost your chances of having a good profit because bitcoin is again going up as we speak.

Should I purchase more bitcoin and or litecoin before the new year hits or after? suggestions/opinions

As long as you think that you will profit 5x and above then go buy. Buy cheap sell high, don't you dare you sell it below the price you bought it. Be wise enough to think always and be strong enough to face some troubles especially when the price will go down don't panic and destroy your plans but be patient enough to wait, to hold for your better future and for you to become happy. Hold! Bitcoin price will become more expensive before January ends trust your guts.
Yes, you are correct but the problem is that if the OP didn't buy it when the price is really low then his chances of really getting a huge profit is minimal, if he is thinking of entering the market today because the price is almost touching $17K. Happy though to see that bitcoin is again moving on a positive direction, after almost 3 weeks of being bearish.
7044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC fluctuating SO MUCH? on: January 05, 2018, 04:34:23 PM
Huh It's a rollercoaster???
The market is based on speculation. A simple negative news will turn the price of bitcoin downward and same when a positive news comes in, the price goes up and everyone is very happy. One thing though, this is just how the market works. That's why you will hear some investors who doesn't want to enter the market because of its volatility, take for example Warren Buffett.

Bitcoin is still in the early days of distribution, and a lot of coins are owned by a small group of people. These people can

manipulate the price, if they wanted to. They MIGHT work together on multiple exchanges to pump and dump some coins,

but Bitcoin is growing now, so it is becoming more difficult every day.  Wink
Exactly. There are still some manipulators behind that can forced the price to slide or if they wanted it to increased quickly, they can do it by pumping the coins and then they will suddenly dump it. But as more people or investors are pouring their cash, maybe those manipulators are having a hard time now as compare before when they have all the power to manipulate the price anytime they want.

7046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2017 Christmas "correction" on: December 27, 2017, 05:47:29 PM
I see no reason for selling my bitcoin during massive correction like "The Xmas Correction" - I'm holding my bitcoins no matter what. Cool
Funny though that everytime that there is a correction, people thinks that is the best time to sell their coins. Wake up!!! The proper time to sell your coins is during the all-time-high and not during a correction. Newbies you should read all what the guys above me is telling. Better to HOLD. Bitcoin is for long term investment. If you think that because the price is going up, it will just go on forever. You guys are entering the bitcoin market and crying everytime you see a slight drop of price.

The correction will keep happening no matter what but just because of that we should never be feared of getting into the crypto currency. The thing is we loose the current entry point of the bitcoin purchase and thus may loose much higher profits that we could earn after the correction happened in future. We don't know what the correction will bring to us, it could lead to prices to very lower points or it may happen that they never get too low. So the waiting period would be loss of time an nothing else. But on the brighter side if you put your money into it and then wait until that point then there is also possibility that price will take bigger jumps and then come down. With that said you can just grab as much profits as you want and enjoy the trade that you played like that way. :-)

So yeah 2017 Christmas correction is old thing now and everything looks normal to me. The rates are going higher again and this time it would be slow because people are still having hangover of the Christmas and no one is making investment into bitcoin yet. But they will soon and you will see the rise in the prices.

Very well said mate, correction is another picture that you have to account for, not just the price going up everyday. Sometimes the corrections that we all feared for will come, but if you have been in the market for a long time, you know that it will just goes through. The main thing is just hope and do not panic. Oh, another lessons here, since the price is dropping today, its better to enter once more. I know that there are still a lot of investors who are waiting and hoping for a correction. So another opportunity to buy it at a cheap price and just HODL because there might come a time that we are going to see another massive pump surpassing the ever goal of everyone, -$20K.
7047  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Will Go to 7500$ on: December 22, 2017, 06:49:53 AM
BTC Will Go to 7500$.
SELL YOUR BTC NOW .
WTF are you talking about? Do you have any proof that bitcoin will go that low? What have you been smoking lately man?  Grin

This is another paid schill trying to spread FUD. LOL. Do you think people here are gullible enough to be swayed by that kind of "sweet" talk?"

Most of us here doesn't think that bitcoin could go below $9K. Actually its not only bitcoin that is dropping, almost all of the altcoins are also bleeding. Which makes me think that investors are getting and pocketing profits. This open a opportunity for a lot of people who have been waiting for so many months to get into the picture today. They can get bitcoin as a discounted price.

You can spread your lies on other social media sites, but I don't think the members of this forum will just simply sell their bitcoin because someone told them so. Grin Grin Grin
7048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc good experience for young people on: December 20, 2017, 08:16:06 PM
Hey, I'm not old but I'm closer to old than young. I was fortunate to get into the stock market early and even a couple ipo's which led me into real estate etc. so now I'm in crypto, follow it, read it still trying to figure it out. Anyway, although everyone is now talking Bitcoin I think this story has sent a message about saving and investing to younger people. I don't think speculation is a good lesson but the ability to do more with ur money than spend it or gain no interest in a bank account is a good thing and I only learned it by listening to others as I was making my way.
First off, welcome to the world of crypto. I'm sure that you are going to enjoy your stay here. I really like you attitude. Crypto is not for everyone. Specially those young people thinking that they will gain financial profit in a very short amount of time. Its better to save early when you are young, and enjoy the fruits later. Looks like you are mature enough for your age. Its really hard to save though, but if you are really focus on your goal, then nothing can stop you. Crypto will give you a opportunity to earn big if you know what you are doing. Learn from your mistakes and continue to reach your goals.

I don't think btc is the answer to everything and it could even crash, that would also be a lesson, but the US population in general does not save a lot of money, perhaps this new development could help change that.
Yes, its base on speculation, the price moves very fast, volatile and unstable. Let me remind you of that. I don't care what the general UP population is going, you have a choice, join them and regret later, or save while you are still young and enjoy your life in the future. The choice is very easy.

Goodluck on your crypto journey and keep saving!!!

7051  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret selling your BTCs? on: December 15, 2017, 07:04:18 AM
Personally, I sort of regretting my bitcoin. It I just have the mentally to be strong and hold on it even for a year, I should have been millionaire by today's price. I have stocks that I been holding for more than 2 years, I question myself why I can't really hold bitcoin for at least 6 months?

I guess most of us here regretting as well. But its just part of our journey. I'm making new strategy for next year though, I will get a hardware wallet and put everything on them in small portions if ever there's a opportunity to get it at economical price and just let it there for a long time.

Not only that, the other thing that I regret worth mentioning is that I lost bitcoin before not from scam or Ponzi but I totally lost my wallet and my private key. Way back then when I was still a newbie about crypto and bitcoin.  Sad
7052  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Community on: December 15, 2017, 06:30:17 AM
Really good to see another alternative forum beside this one. However, I hasn't seen anyone as well-known and talk about as bitcointalk.org. Maybe because the dear Satoshi is the founder of this forum and you can even see his profile and discussing about this famous creation. I don't know if there's something bigger than that mate.  Grin

Although the features you mentioned is really very interesting and some of them are not available here. I know that your forum is still young, I advise you to learn how this forum began from nothing and now has more than 1 million users.

Goodluck though, hope you make some sort of promotion to attract potential community member. I might visit your site one day and see how it goes.  Smiley
7053  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-14] McAffee Nods to Monero, Other Anonymous Cryptos on: December 15, 2017, 06:02:39 AM
Interesting figure indeed. Out of the 3 coins mentioned here, Only Verge is really taking off as of the moment. But if you are going to talk about being anonymous, there's no doubt that Monero and Zcash is a good coin for privacy minded individuals.

As far as John McAffee, I really don't know, this guy is eccentric and have made mind blowing predictions about bitcoin. Should we believed him? I don't think so. But being famous, I think his every statement will have a impact on the market as well. Let's see how it goes for Monero and Zcash, they haven't been pumped as of yet, compare to other coins you have been enjoying their largest jump for far like Ethereum and Litecoin.

As per coinmarketcap:

Zcash   $1,270,605,754      $447.76   -7.15%
Monero   $4,687,411,671      $302.82     -8.31%

7054  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin period of volatility is over? on: December 15, 2017, 05:34:58 AM
Bitcoin's price has only been stable at around the $16,000-$17,000 price mark for only like 4 days. Bitcoin's price has been stable for longer than that in the past. The volatility is definitely not over, and is FAR from over. Also, bitcoin futures will definitely make bitcoin a lot more volatile in my opinion. There's going to be bigger whales that could affect bitcoin's price.
I agree, its seems that when CME officially starts, the volatility is reduced to at extend although there are price daily price swings, but I noticed that the price would go on a flat line at the range mentioned above. But make no mistakes, this relatively slow lessened volatility will just be temporary. I can't see for certain though is this bitcoin futures contracts will make bitcoin more volatile, but we can at least factor them as far as where the price is going because right now they are really the main driver behind the current upward trend.

I'm looking at Bitcoin charts for the past few days and it looks like a straight flat line. I'm not sure whether to feel happy or sad about this but could this possibly be related to the fact that we now have bitcoin futures? Does this mean bitcoin volatility will be less?

As long as the whole world is not yet jumping into the bitcoin world volatility won't be over. Though this past few weeks bitcoin's price become quite stable, it doesn't mean volatility is over. And I'm sure, this coming weeks, or after Christmas, I'm expecting a big rise on bitcoin's price.
Well a lot of people are already flocking into the market, but I'm sure that there are still waiting to get through though. Bitcoin features includes is high volatility so I really doubt that it is over. And remember that it purely based on speculation, that alone its an ingredient in seeing the price being unstable as long as it exist.
7055  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has turned into a scam coin on: December 15, 2017, 04:08:30 AM
Currently its over 15550 USD The transactions on bitcoin network is taking me more then 24 hours no wonder the price is going up its a ponzi scheme and because its slow people are locked as they are not able to trade it
The network is congested because bitcoin is gaining popularity, many people like you and me are doing transactions daily. But if you are in a hurry because you needed the money right away, then you should pay with the highest fees so that your transaction could be included in the next block. Problems solved. No name calling needed. Look at how the community reacts. I also have my transactions stuck in 3 days, causing me to lose money. But I didn't say that its a Ponzi or scam.

ITS just a shit coin with a hype on it. Exchangers Being Hacked Many sites having problem sending and receiving bitcoins How is this even the future. There are many other coins which has fastest transactions this is just a gimmick
BTCig shit
I would say that crypto is not for you mate. Go somewhere else and never come back. Or try altcoins, its been pumping lately and I'm sure they are all fast in terms of confirmations, or go to stock market. Let's see how will it go for you. And if it didn't work your way, call them scam or Ponzi as well. LOL.
7056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful, bitcoin will correct on: December 15, 2017, 03:18:07 AM
If not now, eventually.

The price is over inflated, that value has to come from somewhere. The overall economies don't just create value out of nowhere, they move it around.
If the market swells so as we have learnt from the past there will always be a correction to find market equilibrium.
Thanks for the warning, we are all aware that eventually, correction will happen. Corrections is just normal in any market and crypto's is no exception. It needs to adjust itself for it's overvaluation. Lately, we see the price goes to another level and sometimes it's really hard to understand why people are still buying at this rate, because sooner or later, it will go down and those who bought it at the top (highest price), will be trap.

I'm warning you now, as a friend. Don't be caught out when it corrects.
Draw down your stake. Leave some in it if you really want but trust be its better to be safe than sorry as it will correct and when it does if you're not prepared you will loss heavily.
I'm prepared and ready. And you are not the first one to really give us this fair warning. Although I hope that you have really a good intention for giving the community a fair warning. Because other's may see this as just another way of creating FUD around which we don't like because it causes panic specially to newbies.

Bitcoin has helped to spread wealth to those who believe in and support new technology. It is time to take that money and invest it in developments elsewhere while we still have the chance.
We will cash out, but most of us, will still keep the money back to the ecosystem and will be buying it at a lower price when the correction happens. I cannot think of any investment right now that can give you back the amount of financial win that bitcoin or crypto's can give you. So why invest in others instruments?
7057  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-15] South Korea Pushes Ripple Price Up 71%, as Japanese Banks Conduct P on: December 15, 2017, 12:30:27 AM
OK. So this is one of the positive news that push Ripple to suddenly have a good jump in prices. To be honest, I was shocked to see Ripple on the #3 stop on coinmarketcap, astonishing 79% increased. Never seen any coins that quickly pump like that, except for shitcoins who will all know are just there for the all knowing pump-dump scheme.

Asian market is really the prime movers of crypto's. And it looks like they really making good decisions and selecting coins that has the potential to improved banks business model and to make like easier not only for them as well as their customers.

Its not all pump-dump now for the top coins, there's rationale behind all of the price increase today. Of course investors will still ride the waves to take profit whenever they can, but at least the prices is not artificially growing and not misleading the public on why the price is boosting and going to the moon.

Jordan Belfort aka wolf of wall street had an interview on CNN where he was talking about why bitcoin and all the cryptocurrency are just a bubble that is gonna burst and warned everyone of the risk of investing in it. the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsaU4-AUW2Y

Yet another stock market giant after warren buffet and JP morgan exclaiming that bitcoin is a bubble. The interview itself is based on unlogical explanations. These stock market giants are just afraid that the world would move towards a crypto society where they aren't really the big whales any more so they resist change.
I don't think that he is a stock market giant as Warren Buffett though. Speaking of Warren, did you just know that Crypto world is already worth more than his Berkshire? Amazing run.

Don't you think they can easily be big whales themselves ? considering how much money they have . They have the option to buy loads of btc and just hold . I really think bitcoin is going somehow to crash , not sure if it will be able to recover but the cryptocurrency market itself is going to be the future of currencies without a doubt.
It's possible. We don't know what made him talk about bitcoin specially lately that we have seen him attacking bitcoin. It could be that he want the price to go down deep and then purchase large quantity. Whales really want to create this stuff, by behind those bashes are intentions to buy back bitcoin at a discounted price.

Another paid guy who wants to discredit crypto currency. Afraid of liquidating his positions in stock market.  Wakeup guys, crypto currency is the future of the world's currency.

give the dude about 12-18 months. when we hear from him next he'll be launching his ico and crypto is now the greatest thing ever. presumably he'll be doing it through a 'rathole' to avoid having to pay back his creditors.
LOL. That will be really funny. I assume he just missed the boat and didn't invest in crypto's. Remember Mark Cuban? He used to be anti-bitcoin but look at him now, he suddenly chance his stance and I'm sure that he already investment in bitcoin. They all said that its a bubble, but they can't really stop it, so they just joined the bandwagon and ride the waves.
7059  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin on: December 14, 2017, 05:30:28 AM
Hey! i dont think that bitcoin will fall down below 12000$. Should happen some kind of serious event that will cause bitcoin lost value. But all news now are positive for bitcoin, so in future time it will goes up. May be we will see 20k $ soon. may be even till 2018.

I am agree with you mate, bitcoin value will hit 20k$ in 2018 will brings good profit for the bitcoin holders.

At the strong current value of bitcoin i dont think it will fall too much down to 13000$ mark before this year end, there are lots of people are now continue to adopt bitcoin and it helps to make bitcoin value increasing and stay at the highest level.

We have a couple of days to buy bitcoin and i want to invest for short term for only 15 days and i am hoping that my decision would gives me profit.
From my view, it's gonna be very hard for us to cross $20K at the end of the year. I suppose when all this financial institutions came into picture, I noticed that we have less and decrease volatility. That's why the prices just keeps hovering in the $16K-17K in my opinion. To really push the price to $20K. Investors will really need to flock anew and flood the market with their cash. So I don't know if those financial institutions greatly bring positive effect on us or not.

Do you think Bitcoin will be down more? Now price 13708.00 ...  Huh

The price now is at 16k again so, it can only down for a certain period of time and recover again faster. This happen for about every other day that’s why it looks normal to all that has been in bitcoin for a while like me. So take a big breath at the dip and don’t look too much on the price chart for your own good that’s the only thing I can advice if this happen again.
This has been the price is last couple of days, although it's not going down, its not increasing as well as we expected to cross $20K at the end of the year. Well, CME will have the change now and see it this can push the price even further, but I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't. Looks like to me that the speculation around CME is already price in. I'm very bullish and positive but there's something I really saw when they all join in. Bitcoin price being quite stable is very surprising.
7060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH price going crazy on: December 14, 2017, 04:52:18 AM
I really wish someone who can stop it, i convert all my eth to altcoins and suffer a big loss if eth price keep on rocketing
Sorry for your lost mate, but no one can really stop Ethereum going to the right now. I also lost as well when I convert some just a few weeks ago. Sad

I believe Ethereum is a undervalued coin. Right now, it has been increasing for some time. We may see a big increase in its price in 2018.
I believed so. Being the second top coins it should be valued as closed to $2K by now. But it seems to be having a hard time even breaking 4 digits. But it has a big probability to get it there if this upward trend will keep on. We have never seen Ethereum being push like this and it seems it still has more leg room to reach $1k.

the rise in eth is caused by the rise of BTC because already many investors are investing in bitcoin and now get to Etherium that will get to the price of 1500 $ in 2018 later so we wait for the increase of etherium
I didnt think ETH could actually grow. Well it is the second most valuable cryptocurrency though im doubting it will rise that far a bitcoin does. Just my opinion though.
There are a lot of reasons that Ethereum is growing today. One main driver of it is the UBS announcement of Ethereum based initiative.

Quote
Ethereum, the number two digital currency by market capitalization, topped $600 today to set a new all time high. According to CNBC, the surge comes as UBS announced they will head an Ethereum-based Blockchain initiative along with Barclay’s, Credit Suisse, KBC, Swiss stock exchange SIX and Thomson Reuters. The initiative is designed to help these companies comply with new European Union trade data standards that go into effect in 2018.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ethereum-surges-past-600-on-ubs-announcement-of-ethereum-based-initiative

This is really a big news for Ethereum. This should have happened years back because this coin has more features to offer as compare to bitcoin. But it looks like a lot of companies now has seen what smart contracts and Dapps can really do if they implemented it. So I'm betting that not only bitcoin but altcoins markets will bloom and expand in 2018.
