7083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia to use Ethereum blockchain / technology on: June 06, 2017, 09:27:42 PM
Ha, I just read this on Bloomberg and was wondering why
I had not seen anything about it here on BCT,

has this gone unnoticed?

Good article and is surely good news for ETH and Blockchain in general

"Like other central banks, the Russian one is testing blockchain technology:
Last year, a consortium of large Russian banks it formed for the purpose
processed the first transactions through the Etherium platform.
With Putin's support, which means everything in today's Russia,
the central bank, run by Putin favorite Elvira Nabiullina, can more
aggressively move the country's financial sector to the blockchain."

7084  Economy / Services / Re: ***** LOGO CONTEST currency DirhamCoin (AED) ***** 0.07BTC ***** on: June 06, 2017, 09:16:07 PM
Firstly Thanks for creating the competition and opening it to all  Wink
I enjoyed creating my design and enjoyed the submissions following on.

Secondly I really like the shortlist, 3 strong submissions and best of luck
to all, I have made my mind up as to the one I would pick  Wink

Looking forward to seeing the winner.

EDIT: Ok seeing as others posted their fav's below, my vote.
Also goes to #3, very striking design with a 'middle eastern'
Theme.
7085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Belacoin - Supercharging entrepreneurship with the power of the blockchain on: June 06, 2017, 04:47:20 PM
Yes, we will have updates for the wallets very soon. We do post our large updates here, although conversations about our updates and news (as well as daily updates and smaller pieces of news) are all handled in the Slack.

great thanks for coming back to my post.
yes I understand that Slack is better for "conversational" posts
thats probably why I dont go there that often  Grin
7086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is causing the Bitcoin bubble? on: June 06, 2017, 01:34:08 PM
Now it is evident that Bitcoin price is at an all-time high. Prices have risen steeply, far too fast for my liking. I don't think such a growth is sustainable. The bubble is going to break very soon.

But what is causing such a price hype? I speculate this phenomenon is caused by the increase in the number of Bitcoin users. Hence, demand increases and supply dwindles. Thus price increases. Are there any other factors that could add to this price hype?

This is a good question. Most of the people here are so in denial that they won't even admit that this is a bubble, so it is refreshing to hear somebody who does recognize the reality of the situation.

The reason for the bubble is the nature of bitcoin investors. I wrote a post sort of related to this recently:

http://www.demoinvestor.com/articles/00000001
Organizations and fund managers on Wall Street have not begun to consider Bitcoin as a reasonable investment as far as risk versus reward goes, and rightfully so. Experienced investors prefer assets that either have a long history, or whose value can be measured by fundamental data about the asset. Bitcoin is severely lacking in both of these areas. As a result, the price is driven up and down by retail investors trying to get rich quick, who do not know how to invest. They fall into buying and selling frenzies far more easily than institutional investors would, which causes snowball effects to build up easily.

This basically describes what I believe is the reason. Bitcoin has historically consistently formed bubbles. This is because of the nature of bitcoin investors. They are retail investors who want to get rich quick. They are inexperienced and usually investing small amounts of money. They are basically just weaker hands who jump on board with buying and selling frenzies very easily.

If you read the article, you'll see that I mention a solution. The solution is that bitcoin needs to earn the trust of institutional investors. I am not sure that there is not a whole lot that can be done to achieve this other than wait.

I dont think you can compare investing in Crypto currencies to
investing in stocks and commodities. Crypto or to be general Bitcoin
is accessible to small money holders and large, anybody after jumping
through the usual security hoops can invest $50 or without any
security or identity verification for $15.

Lets see how anyone fairs out investing in bank shares with that amount!

Its because of its accessibility why bitcoin's value fluctuates and not everyone
is involved to get rich quick there are plenty of long term investors.
7087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is causing the Bitcoin bubble? on: June 06, 2017, 10:01:47 AM
I recon its a number of factors causing the Bitcoin Bubble,

The recent news articles relating to Japan, Australia, Russia and the U.K is all good
news and adds to the exposure, hype and excitement which in turn has to create new investors.

I also think existing crypto users are buying in possibly thinking that the value is
not going to fall and that its only going to rise, similar thinking prior to the quick down shift last month!

its all adding to the momentum . . .
7088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to buy ethereum? on: June 06, 2017, 09:22:29 AM

7089  Economy / Services / Re: ► LOGO CONTEST ◄► cryptocoinsmarket.com logo design ◄► 0.01 BTC prize on: June 06, 2017, 08:57:35 AM
Congrats to all the qualifying designers!

Firstly i'm not sure #1 should be considered because the logo
itself has just been copied as has been pointed out above.

My vote goes to #3 - I liked it as soon as I saw it.
Straight, simple and relative to the criteria required.
7090  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: June 06, 2017, 07:44:26 AM
Well im surprised too about bitcoins dollar value of $2820,
i think the $3 nn value could indeed be seen today or
Tomorrow.... is this sustainable, how far can it proceed
Before a fall back?
7091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Belacoin - Supercharging entrepreneurship with the power of the blockchain on: June 06, 2017, 07:36:32 AM
Thanks for the updates, some good positive news
I assume the wallet update will be ready for download soon?

Re: slack, i dont like it purely because of the number of micro
Comments. I became interested in belacam/belacoin because
Of this thread. I think its important to keep this thread active
And updated to attract more involvement in the project.
7092  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: June 05, 2017, 08:35:13 AM
A lot of people are very excited and optimistic right now so $3000 is an easy target, don't forget that the market heavily relies on the emotions of the people. However if there were to be a sell off at some point it would only be a good opportunity for me to buy more since I'm going long on bitcoin.

I have a feeling that $3000 will be reach before this third quarter ends. And if pushed hard even before this semester ends.  There is RSK for bitcoin and this should push bitcoin to another milestone, and the hype of Australia removing tax and accepting Bitcoin.  The lights on the scaling issue, this is all contribute to bitcoin hype.

no need to hype for this , bitcoin already surprise us each year with its innovation and stability , have high hope its reach 5000 soon , probably also be the best things on current technology  Grin
We need the hype to keep our key players excited and to splash their money into cryptocurrency and i have a good feeling before the end of the year we shall get to see 5000 dollars as word goes round about bitcoin being among the best digital investments of our time...
You are guys have high positive thoughts but for now we can not imagine that the price can be reach $5,000 because the price movement right now is slow and i think before we can see that amount it needs a lot of good news before $5k value can be reach.. much more possibility maybe in 2019 it can be reach if the price of bitcoin continues to increase..

Well there has been some very positive news over the
Last 2 weeks or so but the price has settled for a while
Now at around $2500, does anyone see another sub $2000
dip happening or is this the latest base level?
7093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SNC] SunContract - Decentralized Energy Market on: June 05, 2017, 08:27:04 AM
I think this has great potential in countries with an underdeveloped
Infrastructure. A small energy collection system could be setup
Maybe on a cooperative level so provide energy to surrounding
Communities and small businesses.
The toughest part is getting that infrastructure into the rural.
Or remote areas, hut not impossible.
7094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SNC] SunContract - Decentralized Energy Market on: June 03, 2017, 10:45:09 PM
/
yes that is a fact that the rate of electricity is out of the control of the consumers, they cannot afford to pay the bell and most of the time their electricity is cutoff due to non payment of the bill. i think the solar panels are the one time investment, and after that you do not have to pay any bill. you can use electricity that are generated from these panels are totally free.
You only think so? Dude, when you invest in solar panels you are producing energy. Of course you don't have to pay bills, it is one of the best investments.
Not to mention you can actually sell electrical energy to others.

OK I have solar panels on my roof collecting and generating
Energy, how am I going to sell and provide it to you via this project?

Don't get me wrong I like the project but there is a lot to be
Done on infrastructure implementation.
7095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: June 03, 2017, 10:38:33 PM
Sia is fully decentralised
There are incentives to providing storage and by
Providing storage you have to be serious about it
So there are also penalties.

To me this proves its a serious project and that
Continuity of storage space is important.

I think a lot of people see great potential in sia
Over other options.
7096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: June 03, 2017, 09:15:06 PM
Well over the last 24hours it seems to have
gotten very active, price has pumped up quite
sharply a few times, I think it is probably time
this currency has had some attention!!
7097  Economy / Services / Re: SunContract Signature & Avatar Campaign(CFNP) on: June 03, 2017, 09:12:51 PM
Thank you Yahoo60078, payment as usual has been received on the date specified!
7098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC News All Over the Place in Today's (June 1) Financial Media on: June 02, 2017, 03:25:12 PM
Bitcoin for sure is a "hot topic" of sorts at the moment
As posted above its purely because of the recent surge in dollar value
and is seen as "unbelievable".

I more interested in seeing this news in the mainstream media rather
than crypto blogs and crypto news sites because I want it to be highlighted
to the masses. The majority of people following crypto themed sites
are people already into crpypto.

I like cnbc reporting on it and recently the daily mail in the U.k, thats hitting
the average joe - more exposure
7099  Economy / Services / Re: Kick ass OP design needed on: June 02, 2017, 11:56:40 AM
I'd post this on the 'Services' section instead - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

I'm pretty sure you'll find plenty of available candidates ready to fulfil the design you need, I've seen a few sick designers around here.

Best of luck.

Agree, the SERVICES section on the forum is currently where most of the
design work is being advertised both for designers and clients.

I am involved with a few design threads there also.

There was another thread similar to this a few weeks ago that got removed
but anyway I would be interested in graphic design for your project.
Here is my latest [less than 24hours old  Cheesy] design >
