see a copy of the conversation and make your own conclusions

Thanks. I can't really tell if that's favourable or unfavourable to the coin.

Tell you what. Instead of listening to all the crap on here I'm gonna try it for a few months and then I'll know if it's a scam or not.

Will let you know how I get on.
7082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation) on: May 17, 2014, 12:41:03 PM
Doesn't matter.

Bitcoin is pulling out of its nosedive. 1 week chart will start to turn around in June.

That will lift this entire market into the stratosphere. Won't matter what coin anybody's in or what premine / instamine B.S. people like to grind on about. It'll all be going to the moon, the whole lot & everyone will be happy Smiley

7083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TardTalk.org - Forums on: May 17, 2014, 12:17:32 PM
Not even that. They claim "unfairness" for DRK because late miners don't get the same number of coins as early miners and then go to 100% instamine pos-pow hybrids that no-one can mine after a few days. I mean they really care about the "fairness" aspect for future miners...

That kind of hypocrisy is standard fare around here.

If people want to take lessons in ethics from a bunch of get rich quick crypto miners who's noses are so far out of joint they can smell sideways then so be it.

I won't be.
7084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 17, 2014, 11:45:05 AM
Im not trying to spread FUD, but i feel its wrong to give newbies false hopes and have people dig deep into their pockets into such a risky investment, which goes for all cryptos, and DRK is still dropping, which i was expecting, so what if it goes back to $2? It still has the potential to get up to $100 if it is indeed a solid coin.

+1000

nzminer is bang on the money here. Do NOT get emotionally attached to an investment unless you actually work in it. It just becomes a cult which then degenerates into a snarling cesspit of adversarial factions. Some of the valuations being banded about are delusional and people need to go and take a look at the archive of [ANN] threads for some of the now dead coins around. In particular take a look at the valuations that Blackcoin was GUARANTEED to have after 6 months.

Darkcoin is part of a greater cryptoeconomy ecosystem. It will not survive by trying to dominate or compete with that ecosystem. It WILL grow steadily if it works constructively within that ecosystem to the benefit of its own holders and the holders of other currencies.

In this regard getting to the next dollar is hard enough in this market, never mind talking about hundreds. We need realism, not hallucinogenic dreamland.

Try for $10 and feel damn lucky if we get it.

And yes, the "instamine" is a concern to me and it would be appreciated if i can get an explanation why the windows QT wallet was not released on launch. Again i still think this coin is a strong contender in the market for the short to mid term and it will easily topple litecoin sometime this year, but people like me need solid faith in this coin. Its silly to invest in something just because its going up in value.

Read the dev's own account of it here... https://darkcointalk.org/threads/the-birth-of-darkcoin.162/

hey Mark was great at ripping off all you Gox'tards so he deserves to keep the half billion dollars worth of bitcoin he stole right ?

Slightly desperate analogy Spoetnik.

Mark was running an exchange.

Some miners (like about 5 desperate trollers who get eaten up by this issue every day) don't like Darkcoin because the dev F*cked up the launch. But the story ends there. It's history now and and neither the market nor the mining community have a problem with it any more.

Who to take more seriously when making investment decisions ? The 5 trollers rattling around in their can daily on this thread or the 60 GH/s that's on that coin right now ?

Silly question really  Wink

Edit: I'm actually more worried about this mystery-entity (which bought even more today) selling and crashing the coin more than anything else (http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?188207.htm)

An exchange ?
7087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WIll Darkcoin reach $1000 by the end of 2014? on: May 17, 2014, 12:57:17 AM
Darkcoin had a lot of promise and suggested some real innovation.  But it has not delivered on that promise, though I have to admit this latest pump is impressive.

Good Luck!

What was the promise it did not deliver on ?

With the devs having 10%, aren't you guys worried they can crash this coin when it gets to a high price?  who would want to invest in that?

Ahhh ! It's Ed4252. Straight from the "WIll Darkcoin reach $1000 by the end of 2014?" thread.

You're a hard worker.

Make sure you get a good night's sleep - long day of FUD spreading tomorrow awaits.
7089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WIll Darkcoin reach $1000 by the end of 2014? on: May 17, 2014, 12:21:44 AM
+1 to NXT being the next riser...just my .02$

Agree with that.

Another one one that the trollers wrote off as a "scam instamine" and are now having to eat their words.
7090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WIll Darkcoin reach $1000 by the end of 2014? on: May 16, 2014, 11:54:57 PM
LoL. I like the way these threads always get all the same 5 Darkcoin trolls rattling around in the same can like an army of daleks with there sound chips hung.

::: SCAM COIN ::: NO WINDOWS WALLET ::: 2500000 INSTAMINE  ::: SCAM COIN ::: NO WINDOWS WALLET ::: 2500000 INSTAMINE  ::: SCA..
 ::: EXTERMINATE ::: EXTERMINATE ::: EXTERMINATE ::: EXTERMINATE ::: EXTERMINATE ::: ...

Try changing the record if you guys have any spare brain capacity left.

Everybody's scared of that big row of 1's.

Seems quite an effective tactic. Is that someone trying to stop the price from going up ?
7092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 06:17:00 PM
....well there goes one of the chunks of meat.

But one of the nest got greedy and now say they want 3239 DRK instead of just 5. Not very polite, so that brought a swift end to feeding time and the bloodhounds are now de-cloaked.
7093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 06:05:09 PM
The DRK chart has turned itself into a hedge trimmer.

ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz... up and down.....1422.1421...1422.1421...1422.1421...1422.1421...

I could trim my hedge with it.

Buyers are sitting there like a nest of baby starlings with their mouths gaping wide open trying to catch 3 and 4 DRK dripping out of mummy order book.

Maybe one of the sellers will get the willies and let go a few chunks of meat. That will set off a dump which will instantly turn the baby starlings into a pack of bloodhounds and then we might get some action.

While we're waiting for the markets to do something, I'm going to be very naughty and promote Jackpotcoin.

The most interesting and innovative crypto since Darkcoin. Darkers will like it because they like good fundamentals and solid quality work. (And it's not a threat to DRK cos it isn't 'dark' Wink  )

New and still available at ground level.

DRK is disgusting and will get very ugly if/when the miners/investors wise up

Jeeez. The words horse and stable door spring to mind.

..."when the miners/investors wise up" ?  Huh  Are you kidding ?

The coin's been out for nearly 6 months. Give us a break.
7097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation) on: May 16, 2014, 03:55:13 PM
I still don't see any real payment services that Darkcoin has, what can i buy with Darkcoin ?
At the moment its just all a anonymous money that is hard to trace back and will favor the big whales to launder their Investments. Don't be delusional that they will stay always in Darkcoin... once they see that it isn't stable they will use darkcoin like a Tor node nothing else.

I'm not here to defend or attack one crypto or another and, as a DRK investor, I'm quite interested in your point of view.

I've done my homework. I'm not sure that you have but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

For a start, if you're trying to make a case that a crypto isn't worth investing in because it's got no merchants, then I think your making a pretty weak case relatively speaking. Fair enough if you think that's an important criteria for your own decision making, but it's not for me. All alts are in the same boat in that regard to one extend or another.

will favor the big whales to launder their Investments

That isn't the conclusion I came to.

There's no financial infrastructure more opaque than the current fiat money system. Commercial organisations, cultural organisations, political groups and individuals are all pretty private about their monetary movements. Nothing to do with laundering - just plain and simple privacy. And when it comes to commercial organisations, they're worried about protecting competitive interests. Doesn't matter if it's a loan programmer accepting payments for a software license or a multi-national shifting their investments around.

In particular, they're worried about INCOME. That's where a network like Darkcoin is able to support that requirement and others aren't - not even dark wallet because it's useless for hiding income. I'm not saying there won't now be a whole flotilla of coins boasting "dark technology" and supporting anonymity in one way or another. But an original is always worth investing in - look at Litecoin or Peercoin. They didn't get their valuation knocked off the top 5 when all the clones arrived.

If you've got something of genuine value to offer in terms of critical appraisal then go ahead and post it. I'm getting sick of axe grinders churning out B.S. about this coin because some aspect of it happens to put their particular nose out of joint. I go away and check up on their claims and the real account turns out to be a whole lot more plausible and complex than their canned scare stories do justice to.

7098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation) on: May 16, 2014, 03:10:36 PM
Just wait until the people that build the Masternode want to exchange their Darkcoin to Bitcoin to pay their cost for server and security.
Price will go even faster down when the miners start doing the same.

What will happen then is that the daily fee paid to the remaining Masternodes will increase proportionately.

So if you're the only one left, you're up for 7000 DRK per week fee (105 BTC at current prices).
