No country is accepting bitcoin as an official currency as far as I know, You can just exchange it through tons of methods local and international to the local currency of the currency, naturally countries usually don't accept anything but their official currencies, exchanges can do any...
Japan already recognized bitcoin as payment system. Many are still in discussion, we might see more in future. http://www.coindesk.com/japan-bitcoin-law-effect-tomorrow/A lot of newbies here that probably are stuck in the communist era where the state and the country and the great leader is one and the same. There is no country accepting bitcoins. There are a lot of them who have recognized bitcoin as a form of money. And even within those countries there are slight differences on how bitcoin payments are viewed and regulated. But there is no country yet that has enforced bitcoin as an alternative to their currency. So if your next door store doesn't want to accept bitcoin there is nothing you can do about it. Once we get over this... then the real fun will begin Agree, but we are edging V E R Y slowly closer to more and more adoption and the question is will any country ever recognise Bitcoin as legal tender to compete with its own fiat currency. I think the OP is using the wrong terminology, "Accept" or "Recognise"

Well I too have some Golem because I like the concept of lending and using computer power over the blockchain and this project is in its infancy. I store Golem on my EXODUS desktop wallet here is the link > https://www.exodus.io/releases/

Yup it starts with the whales and the minnows follow until they are finished cashing out which is perfect for the whales to buy back at a lower rate which in turn is followed again by new minnows buying in, Bitcoin showing a nice healthy dollar value of $2244
The whales might have cashed out but they certainly cashed back in!

OK I've been reading up on the website and making my way through the whitepaper [not finished reading yet] I really like the concept!
Im wondering how all this is going to transpire. I'm based in Rural Ireland on the west coast, next stop Newfoundland! and I'm trying to figure how I'm going to be able to trade electricity using the blockchain using existing infrastructure owned partly by the state. I'm not expecting an specific answer just a general one in lay-mans terms...

Hi there, I'm new to altcoins. Anyone has some usefull tips? Or a strategy that worked for you? My Advice is Research, Read, before you invest in Altcoin. That's what newbie need to do to know more about Altcoins. All of traders strategy in altcoin is buy low sell high. Now Almost all of the altcoin is at low price so it's time to buy. I agree with the above, you need to do your research And decide which information is reputable and which is not Everyone is going to give you advice on the currency they Have invested in and tell you its the best out there. I assume you have bitcoin already? This forum is an aladins cave of information, You just have to sort through it.

sometimes along the way on bitcointalk I get a great laugh. Its funny that only 1 person thinks and has voted "I will never use any service which yahoo manages" I have worked on a Yahoo campaign and found him to be very fair and prompt.

just look at the trends and charts for most alt coins; the bubble will pop soon, not the best moment to buy!
Best time to buy. Coins on the discount for long-term holding Get with it, boyo You need to stop spamming message boards. I don't like the little games your playing. I take my money serous. You need to stop! Yup. Buying now is a foolish act to do and you will loose money. The market fluctuating dangerously and hope this will stop gradually otherwise I feel many of the traders will leave altcoin trading. well it depends on your strategy really and what you believe/think/hope and pray for, there are other threads predicting bitcoin to go over $3000 this year and even $5000 so buying now would be ok too, but yea it all prediction, who knows whats going to happen ?

Hi everyone! We are launching a CSGO prediction's website called csgopred.com
We are currently developing the website, but need a graphical designer. Currently, our budget has been used on hiring a web developer and buying the domain and hosting. We are willing to offer a 20% stake on all profits to anyone who is willing to make thumbnails for our articles, and design a logo for us. PM or reply here!
I visited you site and yes I see you need a logo and other artwork. I might be interested in this, particularly the Logo Design. I have sent a PM to you.

I'm still not sure about the rationale behind the existance of bitcoin ATMs.
Regular fiat cash is starting to disappear in favor of digital transactions and yet, with bitcoin, a digital coin, ATMs are placed around the globa handing out physical "paper" bitcoins.
I could understand if they loaded the coins directly on your phone though.
I think the Bitcoins can be transferred to an online wallet via QR code or they can print a paper wallet also. I wonder if they will accept card payment going forward rather than physical cash?

Japan seems to be at the forefront of mainstream adoption. Too bad the US blew the chance to lead the space.
Yes for sure they are definitely leading the way in terms of adoption. Stuff like this and the other thread here about OKI going to manufacture ATM's is all positive. If large companies see potential for expansion and market share they will be all over it and then we have a snowball effect. Its all good!! The news is reported in mainstream news also, Here it is on the financial times from the 22nd > https://www.ft.com/content/a0389242-3ee4-11e7-9d56-25f963e998b2

Leading japanese ATM manufacturer OKI has entered into Bitcoin ATM business. They are launching their first line of Bitcoin ATMs this month. The OKI electric company claims to be the first to develop world's first cash recycling ATM in 1982.It seems that all the companies who are pioneer in their fields are jumping into bitcoin industry to make utmost use of bitcoin development.
This is great news for sure. Yea OKI are the printer manufacturer. Japan is really taking up the Bitcoin baton and really running with it. I recon this is also why the value is rising rapidly lately, is there a link to where you saw this report?

Blockchain with smart contract is the most useful case of the blockchain technology, in my opinion, something like Ethereum and its decentralized smart contracts. There are many more usages for it, though. We still haven't seen blockchain flourishing yet, just Bitcoin's and altcoins'.
I agree, I really think we are on a big discovery trend. I've posed about this before and its a small example of just how widely used Blockchain Technology can become. Bosch are looking at implementing it to counteract Odometer fraud Here is the link > http://www.eenewsautomotive.com/news/bosch-plans-anchor-ai-blockchain-car/page/0/1Quote from bottom of Page 1 to page 2 > "In his keynote speech, Denner identified more technologies that will help Bosch to open up new business opportunities. One example is blockchain – the secure distributed database used to implement the digital currency Bitcoin. In the automotive context, blockchain could be used to prevent odometer fraud."

yes we are reaching $3,000 soon, and we have trebled the value in less than 4 months from $900 in January which is crazy, I certainly didnt think I would be looking at such a high value so early in the year let alone 2017... and yea if there is any bit of a fall back there will be a lot of buying going on for sure.

Dark Gravity Wave has been integrated into Belacoin's test net, and after a few days of studying its effects, we're ready to declare success. Now, we're preparing the code for an update to the wallets and picking a date for the official full integration on the main Belacoin blockchain. We'll let everyone know sometime in the next few days about the official date. We'll be reaching out to the exchanges that list Belacoin, Belacoin block explorers, and mining pools to update in preparation. We'll also put together an easy guide for those of you that are holding Belacoin in a desktop wallet. If your money is on an exchange, you likely won't need to do anything. Come to our Slack at Belacoin.herokuapp.com (use https://belacoin.slack.com if you're already a member) to get more updates and to talk directly with us. Fantastic, great news and also great to see the development going into this project. I have Belacoin in my desktop wallet so I will be looking for that update guide for sure. Thanks again for the update !!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v5y3icu6YYThis is pretty amazing. This guy somehow nailed it and is now 200% up at least. He somehow saw how the simplicity of Litecoin would be it's killer app. Im not sure if he is aware of segwit and he predicted how segwit would fail for Bitcoin and Litecoin had higher chances at getting it activated and moving a lot of capital there, but in any case, this man went all in and he's now making some killer gains. So almost two months later and while it was/is a risk, I think it was a pretty good call! Dollar value today is $2763.71 and back on the 3rd of April was $1129.90, nice return eh? Have you even read the thread title? We're talking about LITECOIN here and you're listing the Bitcoin prices.... People selling houses for Bitcoin has already happened btw, found a story of a guy in Canada selling his house for Bitcoin. Ah I misunderstood the OP " and he predicted how segwit would fail for Bitcoin" I have bitcoin on the brain by watching it rise. but yes to quote numbers for litecoin for April 3rd was around $8 and now its $35.66 which in actual fact he made to date, [provided he has still his investment in litecoin] has made exactly twice as much as investing in Bitcoin!!
