Just be patient, I would prefer to wait a little bit and get gen2 hardware from friedcat than get gen1 right now.  He already said in this thread that he'll uphold his promise and the longer he waits the more he'll give us.

If he keeps his promise, then it is ok to wait for gen2 hardware.
I'll settle for a GTR
7142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: tldr: Why isn't KNC able to compete with *55nm bitfury's W/GH? on: September 13, 2013, 01:38:15 PM
The perspective is you need to chill, seems like you're taking it personally that someone thinks bitfury's design is better, which is pretty much irrelevant. KnC's are cheaper, come with a case and are pre-configured and plug and play. Obviously a better deal.

But they'll likely need to go for a full custom core to compete with other 28nm chips in the future.

One still doesn't exist though

So if that's what you're saying, why even make a thread about a non-existent chip then???
SIGH nevermind
7143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: tldr: Why isn't KNC able to compete with *55nm bitfury's W/GH? on: September 13, 2013, 12:46:54 PM
Right is that not significantly better than their original claims of 250Gh/s and under 1000w? so what perspective do I need exactly? My point still stands they have been pessimistic so as to under promise and over deliver,

Does anyone know the part number for the green power connector, or have any ideas on something else that can be used to bridge the pins to a molex connector? I just received my blade from someone's group buy today and apparently all of the green power connectors were stuck in customs. Can't stand to see this thing sitting there gathering dust...

This has been asked a few times:

Screw terminals are "4 pin, 5.08mm pitch, closed at both sides". You'll find them in bucket loads on ebay.

They're also not living up to their promises: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282910.0

No I get it, let me recap:

You made a high risk purchase from a guy you don't know in another country named Friedcat. At the time the product was grossly over priced but you bought it anyway. At a later time you realised you got ripped off and so did others. This upstanding unknown individual you don't know named as Friedcat promised to give you compensation for burning you the first time and surprisingly hasn't followed through yet!

Lucky for you, you were able to off load the units to others making back your money, phew that was a close one! When you sold the blades I am assuming the "6 month warranty" was transferred as well as the ownership of the equipment. The status of the rip off rebate and who it should belong too I guess is debatable.

So after what I assume were diplomatic efforts to resolve your problem you opened this thread to bring about awareness to your plight and to help fellow miners who were caught up on this. Since these efforts didn't work out did you think rehashing the issue across multiple threads dragging the persons name through the mud for good reason or not is going to accomplish any good? I know you are trying to raise awareness and put pressure on him but it's time to let go.

Look. I bought early blades also and underestimated the difficulty increases. I'm out a bunch of cash now and am looking for work on the side to break even. It sucks but you have to take your lumps, learn from it and move on.

I don't dispute that you try to be a helpful part of the community and you created an excellent DIY as well which is a great public service which I'm sure many people appreciate.

Good luck with your plight I feel your pain
Stopped reading after the first paragraph and ignored you. No, you don't get it. It is absolutely fucking NOTHING to do with price.
7147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 13, 2013, 02:31:14 AM
After seeing the power consumption on the Bitfury rigs these can't even compete. If I was you I would just move on with more efficient technology and chalk it up to a lesson learned.
.... we bought something, we've not received it. Why is that so difficult for people to understand?
7148  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 13, 2013, 12:24:57 AM
@ friedcat any timeframe for the blades for early customers  Huh .
Even for nothing more so I can keep the 600 post setup thread updated for the new models...

7151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade (New Model)]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: September 12, 2013, 12:08:30 AM
When will he send out the new blades to batch 1-3 auction winners Huh
Waiting still
7152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 11, 2013, 04:59:55 AM
Just got my 3 new blades this morning. But this green one is not include:

Did they forget to ship them to me ? Or They are not include ?
Should have been included.
7153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 10, 2013, 10:36:46 PM
Typically blade interface is more accurate than pool interface, but you could look at the accepted shares as the absolute value.
7154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 10, 2013, 02:30:14 PM
Guys you dont need to set login information in the proxy, the blade is already sending that:

Code:
mining_proxy.exe -o eu-stratum.btcguild.com -p 3333
Just edit pool address and port.
7155  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 10, 2013, 02:28:33 PM
Seems like quite a it of whining from a lot o people that purchased the auction blades BEFORE any promises was made. Did you buy a product expecting later compensation?

How about not buying a product and expecting some kind of magic 100% guarantee to be able to mine for a month and then resell it on eBay.
Another guy who can't read, already on my ignore list. All B1-B3+ blades were sold WITH the promise of replacements.

Back to your hole now.
7156  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 10, 2013, 01:32:14 PM
Just got my V.2 blade this morning. Got everything hooked up and configured. Dogie your guide has helped me get this far and for this I thank you and have sent you a small tip..

Problem I am running into with the blade is that it keeps restarting right around 2 minutes 15 seconds. Does this sound like a power issue to anyone? 750w supply dual rail.. I used a dual molex into PCIe splitter and attached the two yellow wires on the positive screws of the green plug and two black on the negative side screws.

EDIT: I have attached each side of the molex-PCIe power splitter to two different power "chains." Honestly I don't know if the power is being pulled from two different rails or not. Has anyone used the PCIe power, like with a PCI express power extension cable as the splice straight to one PCIe power line?

Update: All is well, I guess it was just having a network/configuration problem? Seems that these blades will just keep restarting themselves if they think something is wrong... I went ahead and rebuilt BFGminer on my pi, and added libmicrohttpd-dev this time around. This runs an internal getwork server when the --http-port xxxx option is used. Pointed the blade to my pi and now all my USB sticks along with my blade are hashing together on one worker with a diff of 16 and over 19GH!
Received thanks. Splitting rails is a good thing, but the most important thing is splitting CABLE rails. Cables are the limitations for most decent PSUs.

7158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Single air flow? on: September 09, 2013, 08:21:56 PM

Non steady state conditions tell you nothing about the cooling capacity of the system, too many things going on.

And by that you mean? Sorry but english is not my 1st language.

Steady state typically means when everything in is the same as everything going out. In this case, when the heatsink gets to a constant, stable temperature, effective steady state is reached.
7159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 09, 2013, 05:18:51 PM
Even BTCGuild's shop has the new blades before old customers. GG.
As stated before, the direct sales of old blades' price difference is not part of the compensation.

Not sure what the quoted sentence means but the rest looks good. How do we go about actioning this? What about B1?
7160  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Single air flow? on: September 09, 2013, 10:51:50 AM
we'll see when i get the thermal cam in my hand, we'll see... I only need to figure out how to take pictures so that metal case would not block my "heat view".. I mean, I can't take pics when cover is taken off.. then the air will not tunnel through.. and taking pics with cover on I cant see single component heat.. I can only see heat spots on case.. maybe that is enough though...
Thermal cam won't particularly help. Just look at core temps at a fixed ambient and fan rpm.

as I think I mentioned before, "my design" appear to push out less air, and hashing temp is the same (although reaching same temp takes more time) = less rpm needed to cool to same temp, but that's not all, shutting down miner and starting again show that modified single has cooler starting temp = it must be more efficient as air goes thru single and does not hassel around-up-n-down (also less noisy), now i order to see if everything is cooled and compare original design with my design I was thinkig of takeking thermal images where both are in front of me on the table, and outside (to get bigger contrast of cold/warm).

Non steady state conditions tell you nothing about the cooling capacity of the system, too many things going on.
