7161  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-16]Central Bank of Russia Plans on Limiting Cryptocurrency Trading on: March 18, 2019, 11:36:21 AM
LOL, It really gives me a good chuckle when I see news about Russia's supposedly plans on crypto. Now it looks like they contradict or at least change their tune again. For me Russia will not be as friendly as we thought to be so I'm not surprised by this 'limit' they're going to include in their bill. But as crypto enthusiast, it doesn't make sense at all, why are they limiting it? Are they afraid to lose control?  Grin
7162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Growth of bitcoin with respect to Blockchain on: March 18, 2019, 11:20:20 AM
This shows that the people/industries trust more on blockchain and less on bitcoin. Don't you guys think if it keeps going on like this then bitcoin won't make it big in the future.

Of course, blockchain is a revolutionary technology, and it has many advantages that's why government companies and taking advantage of it and it's not that bad though.

What can we do, that will make bitcoin to grow as much as the blockchain has grown over the time?

We can't do anything at this point. Bitcoin will run on separated course. It doesn't mean that when governments around the world see's blockchain as a good thing, they should embrace bitcoin as well. Let's Bitcoin though it's thing, so far adoption is really slow, but in no time, maybe in the next 2-5 years, it will grow eventually. Awareness is already there, but there are so many factors to consider before even have of the globe consider bitcoin, (for one its volatile nature).
7163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 18, 2019, 06:05:37 AM
It was a shame to see Nadal pull out of his match with Federer due to that knee injury which continues to give him issues. I think it was the right decision as he would want to be fit and ready for the French Open so I can understand why he pulled out of his match against Federer. Lets just hope that he is right for the French Open as it wouldn't be the same if Nadal wasn't playing. So it will be Federer and Thiem in the final which should be a good match to watch as its veteran V young talent.

Yeah, we didn't see a great match for those two legendary players. So as we have suspected, his knees are not fully heal or maybe it just recurred, we don't know. But the point is that he really needs to really rest that knees otherwise if will just give him problems that might causes him to retire because of it.

Thiem defeated Federer,  3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Federer won the first set and I thought he will be going for his record 6th title. But Dominic came back, its a good win for this young guys. Federer fought hard but we can't deny that Thiem is really on the zone in this tournament. I think he just dropped 2 sets maybe one to Raonic and then to Federer, so mentally Thiem is very strong as well. Looks like we are also going to see lots of upsets, I reckon.

The Indian Wells Masters final for the Women's is live right now and we could be seeing an upset on the cards here with the young Bianca Andreescu winning the first set 4-6 and is fighting it out in the second set however Kerber is currently winning 4 games to 2 and looks like she could take out the second set. I'm waiting for the Federer/Thiem match which will be starting in around an hour from now.

And we have witnessed the final upset in the women's side as Bianca Andreescu winning 6-4 3-6 6-4 over Kerber. Remember I commented earlier wherein Serena at 17 years of age, 20 years ago defeated Graf in the finals. So it's like history repeating itself, is Andreescu the new face on womens side? Let's see if he can follow up with this win.
7164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Mikey Garcia vs Errol Spence on: March 18, 2019, 05:51:01 AM
Ok, so as expected, Errol Spence won the fight and it was a one sided decision.

Quote
Connecticut’s Glenn Feldman (120-107), Florida’s Alex Levin (120-108) and Puerto Rico’s Nelson Vazquez (120-108) each scored their FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event a shutout for Spence (25-0, 21 KOs). Spence successfully defended the IBF welterweight title for the third time in the headliner of a 17-bout card that drew a huge crowd of 47,525 to AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

But what's intriguing is Pacquiao is there to watch the fight and even went inside the ring and have something to say  Grin

Are we expecting for a Pacquiao-Spence fight next? Will it be the changing of the guards? Spence is now regarding as #1 pound for pound and we all know that Pacquiao used to hold that 'titles' year ago. What do you guys think?
7165  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-14] Famous Swiss Investor Marc Faber Finally Buys Bitcoin on: March 15, 2019, 04:32:10 PM
Thanks for the share up!

This guys wont really be similar to Dorsey in terms of purchasing number of bitcoins but the good thing that these guys is considering on jumping in.Any personalities
that are popular can really give out possible significant impact basing on their views and predictions.

No problem, it's good to follow his blog to really understand where the guy is coming from and why he did jump on the bandwagon during the bearish trend. He is really old schooled and perhaps, "buy when there's blood in the streets" was and still his mantra. Let's see how it goes, this is really welcoming news for us, interesting to know though how much he really invested, millions or more?

Guys, one interesting thing - this web is back online.

But my browser says:

I really suggest that you stay away, there's a lot of red flags already. We don't want you to be another victims of those scam sites out there.
7167  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Million Crypto Homepage - millioncryptohomepage.com on: March 15, 2019, 04:01:04 PM
I think you forgot to fixed something here:

As others have said, this is not a unique idea, someone already 'exploited' it so I don't know if others will still join this kind of hype.
7168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 15, 2019, 03:01:27 PM
Women's SF draw are already in, and here is the final four:

Bencic vs Kerber and Svitolina vs Andreescu. Bencic continue her magic winning against Pliskova. While Kerber defeated V. Williams. I'm predicting Svitolina vs Bencic in the finals. I'm picking Bencic because of her recent run again and it's hard to defeat someone with this kind of momentum and that she got.
7169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox founder Mark Karpeles Sentenced to Over Two Years. Is This a Joke? on: March 15, 2019, 02:48:39 PM
I have to agree with others posters here, Karpeles can get off the hook and it looks like there's no justice. I don't know how Japanese court not find him guilty of embezzlement though, it still baffles me. Anyhow, the decision has been handed down already, and the timing though. Would you imagine him walking out in two years and coincidences when Bitcoin will then be on another bull-run? How lucky Karpeles, walking out from the jail, and walking out very rich again.
7170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex cancelled RAID IEO Offering at the last minute. on: March 15, 2019, 12:22:53 PM
On one hand, Bittrex avoided a huge risk to their reputation. Imagine if they allowed the sale to go on and then all these things caused the price to crash? Bittrex would get all the blame.

Now I'd really like to know if all these came out because Bittrex did some due diligence or because the public discovered all these things? I mean, if Bittrex did research well earlier, they would never have made this announcement first right?

I'm assuming that the public has something to do with it, and when all hell breaks out, they don't have any choice but to really cancel and go out in the public to look like they're also the victim of the mistrust between RAID and OP. Anyways, I don't think that it will have a huge impact at least for now with Bittrex, but I do hope that when they goes out with another Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) in the future, they should really do their due diligence, as it reflects to their reputation.
7171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BitTorrent tokens in Binance sold out in minutes on: March 15, 2019, 11:50:52 AM
Ok, the OP open this thread in Feb 1 so let's see how it is doing right now.

So it pretty much says that it has a big push and many joined the hype (including me  Grin) early on and then slowly dumping and booking profits. And it's a typical pump-and-dump scheme, but I will say that Justin really did a good job hyping this coin in the very beginning but so far it has slowly declined and might continue to do so in the long run, so invest wisely and at your risk.

7172  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has no practical use and could be damaging to the economy! on: March 15, 2019, 11:37:56 AM
This is just someone's opinion and everyone shouldn't take it seriously. I just wonder why the guy is in India and then totally attacking Bitcoin, is he trying to sway the government to put up a strict regulations or even a total crypto ban? hmm, specially the timing of so called opinion as India is about to release its framework to handle cryptocurrency. He is talking about the negative effect and so far countries that adopted it like Japan hasn't been heard of anything that can have a bad impact on them, financially.
7173  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-13]Is FaceCoin The Future of Payments or Is It Just Another Exaggerated on: March 15, 2019, 11:02:01 AM
And there is also rumors that it's going to be pegged to USD or going to be like a stable coin so it will just be another payment to compete with other online payment scheme. And it means that Facebook wanted a good slice of the billion dollar remittance industry, so it will be a competition. And we all know that when there's competition, usually the public will opt to which is cheaper and faster, so it's a win-win situation.
7174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High Profile Government In The West Will Criminalise Bitcoin (BTC) In The Next 1 on: March 15, 2019, 10:50:44 AM
LOL, who is this "respected government in the west", and as far as I know,

Illegal Activity No Longer Dominant Use of Bitcoin: DEA Agent

Investors and Not Criminals dominate Bitcoin Transactions, Says Federal Agent

The article also mentioned something about Maduro's Petro to circumvent economic sanctions but it's pretty obvious by now that it's not working because of pressures from other countries for him to step down is gaining traction. I think this article is rubbish, sorry, but I have to say that.
7175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevoss brothers suggests more regulations for cryptos on: March 15, 2019, 06:05:03 AM
people should not trust cryptocurrencies if they were regulations in place because regulations are not regulating the projects and the developers, they are instead regulating the market and the businesses! not to mention that anybody who thinks otherwise has not understood what the term "Decentralized" means!
obviously people like Winklevoss brothers having a business and running for their own ETF want regulations because it affects them the most. and they want their "business" to grow.

This is the the main reason why Winklevoss brothers is pushing for more regulations in crypto because it simply means that they earn lots of money in the market. Everyone has it's own intention whether good or bad and I think the twins though, even though they really have the narratives to put forth a regulation, but I guess, it's debatable, will it really bring back confidence from the investors to bring their money in the market again?
7176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 15, 2019, 04:20:37 AM
I will also go with D. Thiem against Monfils. H2H Thiem has the numbers. Nadal and Federer will eventually clash on semis. We do hope and we want to see them in the finals, nevertheless, either one of them has a good chance to win the title as both, specially Federer looks very good in this tournament. I also prefer Roger to go the finals and win the title.

Edit: Injury forces Gael Monfils to withdraw from BNP Paribas Open prior to match
7177  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-14] Famous Swiss Investor Marc Faber Finally Buys Bitcoin on: March 14, 2019, 08:58:35 PM
Very interesting, I know this guy is a gold bug and a oil guy so I was surprised to see him going into crypto right now. What I don't like though is that since he finally enters into crypto, he might make bold predictions about Bitcoin price so that will have a positive effect on the market itself. If you wanted to know about his stances about gold, oil or anything related to the global economy, you can follow his blog here: (https://marcfabersblog.blogspot.com/).
7178  Economy / Services / Re: List your coin/token on a new exchange on: March 14, 2019, 05:52:06 PM
Oh OK, so it looks like this is another exchange platform and I do hope that you will be competitive because this is a very cut-throat business, so say the least. Yes, you should create a ANN thread so that the community will have like a single point of contact specially if they have questions or issues on your exchange. Of course, don't forgot the customer support, it should be at least level with the top exchange and also I wouldn't recommend doing fake or wash trading, just an advise.  Grin. Best of luck!
7179  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies Pose Risks to Banks, Warns Basel Committee on: March 14, 2019, 05:31:21 PM
Well this has been discussed and just common sense will tell us that Banks clearly see crypto as their main threat that's why we have seen a lot of attacks from them specially in 2017 when Bitcoin and other crypto suddenly exploded and banks losing big profits from those who decided to switch their funds to crypto. So I'm not surprised by this the results of this so called committees. Obviously, crypto will have not a fair share of optimism coming from those banking elites so this news is not likely affect us.
7180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Cheap Until April, We’ll Never See Price at $3,000 Again: Trader on: March 14, 2019, 05:24:48 PM
LOL, who is this Galaxy? But yeah, pretty much if you have been in cryptosphere since it's last peaked then obviously this is good accumulation period starting last November when it bottomed. I guess one reason though why casual investors are not entering or just wish to do short trading is that there's no significant news coming along. Just look at the price right now, struggling to break $4000, why? Maybe the bears is not yet done and not exhausted and will continue to short and book profits as long as they want. So it will be a slow grind for weeks or even in the next coming months. Grin
