Походу Axie Infinity всё, потерял полностью свою значимость и популярность, хотя неудивительно, для NFT рынка рыночная нестабильность-это не лучшее время и такие проекты рушатся в первую очередь.

https://i.ibb.co/frhZWyC/photo-2022-05-17-10-49-15.jpg

-skip-

722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euroleague 2021/22 Season on: May 19, 2022, 11:05:36 AM
Today the Final Four games are starting. First, Olympiacos Piraeus vs Anadolu Efes Istanbul. And the second game is Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Barcelona had a very good season that they finished at the top and Nikola Mirotic is the season MVP. They seem like the favourite against Real Madrid in my opinion. On the other game, 6th regular season spot and last champion Efes Pilsen had a good playoffs run after the struggling regular season. They kept most the players from last year like Micic, Larkin and Pleiss. Against the second best team in the regular season, Olympiacos Piraeus, I think they will have a hard game. It is up to the experience at this point. Olympiacos Piraeus have also great players who had a great season like Printezis, Sloukas, Vezenkov. Especially the first game will be quite enjoyable to watch.

Barcelona looks like a favorite even in bookmakers' estimates for the title:

Barcelona 2.60

Anadolu Ephesus 3.75

Olympiacos Piraeus 4.70

Real Madrid 4.75

Ephesus is rated a little better than Olympiacos, probably because of the status, but it seems to me that in fact their chances are equal. Real outsider. Most likely, the chances in the Barcelona-Real pair will not change, but in the Ephesus-Olympiacos pair, I expect that after a couple of games the quotes will become equal.

Here is the article: https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/courtandcrime/arid-40875731.html
Apparently Boyle Sports manipulated a man is a very sad way where he ended up loosing all the money he scammed from a family member. The man had probelms with Gambling and he tried to stop by closing the account on the website and at the end of the day they saw him stopping but kept sending him mails and at the same time, they apparently sent him a 50$ free betting which at the end ending up to be awful for him since he started it again and ended up loosing all the fortune. The whole things is extremely complex like Some Sherlock Holmes story. The person was not infact gullible since to fuel his gambling addiction he scammed his family member and then went to court and pleaded guilty as well blamed it all on the Boyle Sports.
What do you think who was in the wrong ?
I think both the bettor and the Boyle Sports were in the wrong.

I do not see anything complicated in this story. This man is a scammer and he is only trying to shift his blame to others. It will be funny if the court finds that Boyle Sports is also guilty - then I expect a wave of similar lawsuits from idiots who received "undesirable" advertising about how good a Porsche car is, went and robbed a bank, or after receiving an advertisement about how good it is to travel the world, they went robbed store.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst odds of winning... on: May 19, 2022, 10:46:41 AM
I think that what happened in the Master of Augusta (2019) excited us all to believe a possible return... an accident "again" changed everything, age and old injuries are taking their toll on one of the greatest athletes of all time, you may not know anything about Golf but you surely know who Tiger Woods is.

The news this time isn't his big chance to win but that for the first time he's up against the odds, even the worst for a first-time Major winner.

Quote
Tiger Woods’ 2022 PGA Championship Betting Odds are Career-Long for a Major
Source: https://www.actionnetwork.com/golf/tiger-woods-betting-odds-pga-championship-major-event

There is a possible return of what is considered the most dominant player in the history of golf and even of any sport in its comparison, at the level of stars like Michael Jordan.

I think a withdrawal is seen in the short term at least in the PGA.

WyT?

A little offtopic but I'll say this: I've never been interested in golf, but of course I heard about Tiger Woods. I have great doubts that his dominance is commensurate with other sports, since the number of players who completely devote their lives to golf is much less than chess players, football players, basketball players, etc. I think that if you come up with some kind of universal ELO coefficient for different sports, then Woods will not even be in the hundreds of top athletes.

And I'm just the opposite - I would like Leclerc to increase the lead over Verstappenen.  Smiley
To be honest, I do not like such long victories of individual riders, such as Hamilton. And this went on for many years. Although no doubt he is a talented and excellent racer.
But in his confrontation with Verstappen, now the F1 community is once again beginning to choose such an "idol".
If Leclerc manages to keep the points gap, it will bring interesting intrigue to the races themselves. It will be better and gambling for everyone. But in any case,

I wish them all great racing in Barcelona - and Leclerc and Verstappen and, of course, Hamilton. Smiley

At the moment I also want Leclerc to win because in fact his advantage is very small (considering the distance that still needs to be covered before the end of the season) and judging by the dynamics, Verstappen is more likely to win the season with a few races before the end of the season than Leclerc. As for Hamilton's success, as we see it, they are very dependent on the car - this season Mercedes has a weak car compared to competitors and Hamilton can't do anything, he is even behind a teammate.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: May 18, 2022, 09:48:49 AM
I'm surprised with the poll result so far.

we have 27 posters who voted for this fight and Kambasos got 51.9% of the total votes, or 14/27.
Bookies may make Haney a heavy favorite, but we posters here are bettors who see which figher offers a good value.

The quotes are very different from the voting results (currently 50/50), but I would not say that Haney is a super favorite in this fight, the odds are very competitive: 1.58 - 2.55. Looking back at Canelo's recent fight with Bivol where Canelo was the clear favorite but was declassed by the challenger, the outcome of that fight is far from obvious.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Commentary and commentators in sports. on: May 18, 2022, 09:37:20 AM
Much depends on the personality of the commentator. In my country many commentators have a corresponding reputation and viewers prefer to watch either without sound or with field sound ) And for example, if the viewing takes place in the company of friends (beer, etc.), then no commentator is needed, since in this case each viewer is a commentator. In general, I have nothing against commentators if they are professional and do not obviously support this or that team.
I also have nothing against them.

It is that when I watch, I do some other stuff and I have to put it on silence so that I can multi task and that's not new to me. But when I'm free and do not do other things, I'll put it back in volume.

It's fun to watch and hear those commentators when it's about play by play. But I just don't take their opinions regards personal matters on what they think about each player or teams.

This is a good point. Indeed, when I watch football, I mostly do other things (unless it's the Champions League final or something like that), so duplicating information with sound is very convenient. In general, you can go about your business and pay attention only to the most important moments in the game, like scoring chances or goals. It's hard to call it "watching football" but at the end of the day, that's how modern life is - we're always trying to do several things at the same time.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Still Supporting And Playing On Newly Launch Casinos on: May 17, 2022, 06:36:44 PM
I seem to have seen several threads on this forum about investing in casinos. As far as I remember, despite the volatility, in the end, the investments turned out to be profitable. Which is quite logical - at a distance the casino always wins. And I think this is a smart investment. Where else can you get a good percentage of profits on bitcoin - a deflationary asset? Everywhere there is a risk, but if you have chosen a project with an impeccable reputation, then this is a good decision.
Majority of gambling sites now doesnt really accept any investments but there are some which are still accepting like
https://www.bustabit.com/bankroll/change-bankroll
Which no doubt that it do really make profits in long term but dont expect for it to be big but not really that a bad idea.
For totally new casinos that do ask out for funding to build the site then this is where doubts and hesitance do starts.

I wonder why this happened - it seemed to be very common before and most of the projects boosted their capital in this way. As I already said, even a small income in a deflationary asset, which is Bitcoin, is very profitable, maybe as a result, the casino management began to refuse to accept such investments precisely because of these considerations (keep all the profits for themrself)?
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 17, 2022, 05:52:01 PM
By the way, if we talk about the first two points, then these two ideas should initially arouse suspicion, since casinos allow you to implement (and even advertise) these methods. In the settings of automatic betting in dice in any casino, you can set up any strategy. It would be strange if the casino, knowing that in this way the player can win, would allow this.
As a business then you would obviously prohibits any strategies which could possibly milk out the platform but since they do know that no strategy does exist plus having that common line that "house do always win"

then they are really that confident that they could really make profits into those greedy gamblers out there which trying to push out their strategy that it should work or does have those kind of hopes.

Whenever you do have this kind of mindset then you are really putting yourself into a big problem.

I agree - every player who starts to treat gambling not as entertainment (which obviously involves spending a certain amount of money, so their loss is not assessed as a "problem" but only as a payment), but tries it as an income getting, obviously gets a lot of trouble. By the way, casinos that pay bloggers for various "inventions" of strategies that can beat the casino are doing very dishonorably. But as I understand it, this is almost non-existent now, since in the online world for such tricks you can be canceled by the community.

Scotland vs Ukraine is now getting closer, only a couple of weeks for it to start(June 1st). It's probably going to be an interesting game to watch, not sure who will end up winning though. Who do you think will win in Glasgow?

Bookmakers give a clear preference to the Wales team, but in my opinion they greatly underestimate Ukraine:

1,72 - 3,50 - 4,35

Probably Wales is really the favorite in this match due to the home game and some other factors, but these are teams of about the same level and in my opinion it is wrong to give such a strong difference in odds. Maybe it's because of the ongoing war? But does it have such a big impact on the Ukrainian national team, most of whose players play abroad?
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 16, 2022, 03:31:06 PM
Epic fail moment?

1. Beliefs on martingale that could make me rich
2. Test out lots of strategies and also lost of money had been spent trying to justify out
3. Accidental all in or max bet been pressed
4. Urge of feeling on going all in when guts told  you do to so.

And because of these fails you would really be able to realize on whats the importance
of proper risk management.

By the way, if we talk about the first two points, then these two ideas should initially arouse suspicion, since casinos allow you to implement (and even advertise) these methods. when it comes to casinos and certain types of "investments", I pay close attention to depositing any amount.
It's better avoid any risk at all if it possible. Too many scams in the past also from "reputable" sources.
This is why I like this forum because here you can find an excellent list of information and expert users in discovering scams or simply giving valid advice .
Should be strictly avoided, the casino type of investment will not guarantee full profits. Better to play right away than invest in a casino, I've tried that in the past, investing in a casino doesn't give me any profit, for example today I get 1% profit tomorrow I lose 1%. It just spins in place, at worst ever my money no left at all.

I seem to have seen several threads on this forum about investing in casinos. As far as I remember, despite the volatility, in the end, the investments turned out to be profitable. I have heard that the interest of a wide audience (especially young people) is declining even for events like the Olympics, I would like to know how things are with such local competitions. Maybe the situation is reversed here? After all, it is unlikely that Vietnam can dominate so much anywhere else, so those competitions where the athletes of your country are very successful should be more attractive.
Most probably is still because of pandemic where the possible viewers can’t travel that much because of the restrictions and that’s why Olympics and other sports event like this are not jumped pack but hopefully, we cab slowly see the crowd again once there’s no pandemic anymore. The host country always have the chance to take the lead since they can send more players on every sport. Thailand and Philippines are still neck and neck for the top 2 spot, few more days and I think Thailand will take the lead since they are still sports that Thailand is good at, we will see.

But I heard that the television ratings of the Olympic Games are also declining, which would be illogical even in a pandemic if you believe that interest in such competitions remains at least at the same level.
Quite an interesting situation in the medal count - Vietnam has more gold medals than Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia combined. And the proportions between gold silver and bronze medals are anomalously disproportionate - a typical pattern for hosts.

The KSA also gave an honourable mention to Damiaan Reijnaers for his bachelor’s thesis on the use of artificial intelligence in poker.

Hahahaha.

For me, it looks like one real paper with really complex and interesting material received "Thank you", and two papers with obviously less usefulness (one is completely garbage - reasoning about ethics) received cash prizes.

If I were doing research in gambling, it would rather be research in mathematics (including AI) or something similar (tangible), but not this empty demagogy about ethics.

Psychology students are finding your location LOL. Gambling is an "activity" and therefore there can be tons of fields of studies that can use this as a research topic. These includes gamblers' mentality, addiction, or even the gambling system itself. Psychology research are indeed tough since you are more onto Qualitative approach that relies more on behavioral study or case studies while the mathematical approach can be done even without observing people for countless of hours just for a single line of proof. Moreover, case studies/ behavioral studies doesn't always conclude to an answer, but rather a data to be used for a future reference, hence never been a garbage.

If I were to create one, despite of my knowledge in programming and math, I'd rather be focusing on the gamblers' behavior as such findings are way more helpful than creating a gambling system that already had been made by tons of people.

Excellent data that can be used in any way, but it does not give any real answer. Yep, not trash. To be honest, I don’t care about the opinion of students (and even professors) of psychologists, since you probably already guessed how I evaluate the value of their “activities”. If we take two psychology students and try to get an answer from them, we will get three opinions, hahahaha.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 15, 2022, 06:45:43 PM
It never says it's impossible, the greatest example is literally said in OP, a guy who did it, so it is clearly not impossible to do so. However when you consider the odds, it is clear that it is very difficult to do. If it was such a simple thing, everyone would wager 1 dollar for each bet and would end up winning something in return as well and would all get rich and we would never have any money problems.

157k pounds is enough to get me to live comfortably forever without ever having to work for money and just enjoy life. So if it was so possible, I would have done it and would buy anything I want. So, it is not impossible, but not easy neither.

Probably such cases would be more frequent if betters made such bets more often. But I think everyone agrees that a bet with such a fantastic odds is simply considered as money down the drain because the probability of winning here is about the same as in the lottery.
By the way, what country do you live in? In most developed countries, this amount is not enough to live a lifetime without working, which is probably only possible in poor countries.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Commentary and commentators in sports. on: May 15, 2022, 06:10:28 PM
In Dota 2, I think I can watch even without commentators. It's because I'm trained to do so to make my watching in silence.

But it's fun to hear commentaries while watching and I'll choose that than to put my watching experience in silence. I'm doing that because of some situation when I'm watching.

They portray a huge role to hype each play, good or bad and that's connecting them with the viewers that are truly fans and passionate with the sports or esports that we watch.

Whats' your epic fail experience in gambling?
Let's see your conclusion and re-evaluate your decision making after the epic fail experience.

My epically failed experience is not original and is also related to the martingale. When I was a student I "invented" the martingale (the internet wasn't very common then) and bet until the loss naturally exceeded my ability to make the next bet. But then I didn’t lose much, so I consider this a profitable lesson - I lost some money but gained experience.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 15, 2022, 04:59:23 PM
There can also be times when the government changes their minds. It's because it's no longer healthy not just for their citizen but also for their country.
When there's a petition like in horse racing, a movement or group files that because they're seeing the irregularities and it's no longer a normal thing to see such deaths of horses due to mistreatment.

In an ideal society, the government is the representatives of the people. If people don't like the idea of horse racing (with the associated cost of the death of racehorses) then they will give it up without any decrees or orders. But if some people consider this to be normal and others do not, then it probably cannot be banned, since the priority of human rights and not animals should still remain.
