although college can be career defining. many people go to college just because its the thing to do, even before deciding on a career path.

Everything you said here is pure truth. Nothing to subtract there. It is worse in Africa where the society values certificates more than practicalities. There are graduates in fields that are obsolete and irrelevant. They only want to acquire the certificates even if they become unemployable with it. Just get the certificate so you can be seen as a graduate. That is what matters to them.
722  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US and Russian longtime friends and economically aligns on: June 06, 2022, 02:58:23 PM

In politics, interest changes with time. It happened even with Nigeria during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan and Barack Obama. Jonathan fell out of favour with the Obama government over the way he handled insurgents in the north. But the current administration has done worse in that aspect yet the US government is not concerned. Interest has changed. That is what happened with US and Russia. Maybe tomorrow they will go back being friends again.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: friendly and profitable board for beginners, have you realized it? on: June 04, 2022, 06:30:14 AM
Before the pandemic I also followed an e-sport bettor here and I copied his CS:GO and compared his DOTA2 picks to mine. I had it 11 wins with only 1 lost. The guy is now inactive in this forum.

You had 11 wins and only 1 lost, that is a big one. You can give us the member's profile, maybe someone can send him a message to drag him out of inactivity. We need members like him here.

Another thing is that we have to realize that this is gambling and that the prediction can go either way. Op has to know this, eventhough am happy for his win on the bet with his friend but I hope he will maintain this mindset when he loses. And not come here to cry and blame this forum for giving him wrong prediction.
724  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The effect of drugs abuse on youths on: June 04, 2022, 06:09:06 AM

The use and exposure to social media has also made this vice worse. Alot of youths are exposed to social media and they learn fast from what others are doing and then begin to practice it at home. That is the way these things spread across to countries which were not used to it. Homosexuality, substance abuse and internet fraud were all not a thing in Africa until the internet came. To control these things it will be better for parents to monitor what their children are exposed to online. I see alot of children owning mobile phones they should not be holding at that age. Parents should be careful. The blame on exposure to drugs is on parents, not government.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: June 04, 2022, 03:29:38 AM
I like it if one concern is to prohibit kids go into the premises of these gambling places. But there are deeper reasons why they've done this, like what dothebeats said, taxation is the most concern on this.

I do not think it is about taking kids out of it. I do not think governments are run by morality. The main reason will be what dothebeats said. Government wants to make sure no tax escapes. If government wants to keep kids out of gambling, there should be law on that and it should be enforced. As kids we had our little gambling games without going on the big stage or casinos. How is government going to control street and school gambling with that if not through enforced law at those centres and not some ID thing.
726  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Acceptance gays ,lesbianism and transgender in the society on: June 04, 2022, 03:19:26 AM
Well I think, you can be correct that Africa is strict about it. It looks absurd to hear. Africa is more traditional reflecting in her leaders. I remember few years back in Africa, some countries were persuaded to adopt the liberal system but most countries refused and that caused depriving of aids and other support and relieve services from some organisations and countries in the developed community. Although not making it public or legal in Africa doesn't mean that some practice of such is not going on.

It was Barack Obama who tried it when he was the president of the USA. He felt that he would force Africa into accepting his proposal because Africans could not live without aids from the US. Even Kenya which was the country of his origin refused his proposal. It is true that Africa is a traditional continent but there are still some people who are exposed to this western culture that allows homosexuality. Even there are religious people in Africa who practice homosexuality, both Christians and Muslims.
727  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: June 04, 2022, 03:09:25 AM
Many people don talk am say naija nah scam. Things wey dey work for another side no dey work for naija. As you talk them regulate how much people go put for account and yet 100m dem use buy form.

Na we the youth them take that one deh target. These thieves weh call themselves politicians no want make youths liberate at all. Their mind be say if we no get job and money web go deh do anything weh them ask us to do. That na why them deh try ban anything weh go make youth deh independent. Them know say crypto follow and na why them ban am. But we go shock them.

Na on 7th June wey Tinubu suppose defect, unless something else play out.

Thank you my brother.
This one go loud pass Buga o. I really like wetin deh happen for the political space now. Make we see how things go scatter. I dey tell people since Tinubu declared to run say Buhari no go like hand over to Tinubu them deh argue with me. No be only Buhari sef. All the former heads of state no trust Tinubu and they go don discuss am.
728  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How possible was dubai transformed from desert to world tourist country in 50 ye on: June 03, 2022, 05:58:56 PM
Dubai ... believes in equal distribution of wealth
There is a lot of poverty in Dubai and the UAE as a whole. It's estimated that ~20% of people in the UAE live below the poverty line.

There is no country that does not have population of poor people, no matter how developed or rich that country is. Britain has it. Russia has it also, like the USA, Canada and others. But a low poverty population is what every country should struggle to keep to make it appear rich. What is happening in Dubai is what can not happen in third world Africa continent where leaders are corrupt and are stealing everything they can lay their hands on without thinking of developing the country. Selfish leadership in Africa can not make Africans smell what is happening in Dubai and that is why op is so surprised about the speed of transformation in Dubai.

Ope o! So I finally carry golden boot sha. Make I go find where I go buy chilled bottle water to celebrate am.

My 9ja people, I hope una deh see wetin deh happen for APC at national level. Tinubu frustration don begin make the grandpa begin run mouth anyhow. E don clear for him eye now say Buhari no want to give am opportunity. Make we deh watch whether him go jump comot for APC or remain there. I like wetin deh happen to Tinubu.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: June 03, 2022, 04:52:47 PM
What are you saying, that Fortuna is an unknown boxer with just 1 win? Hope that was not what you wanted to type there because that is not true. Fortuna has more KOs than the entire all wins of Garcia. He is not an ordinary boxer. Even if you do not like him or know anything about him but for sure Garcia and his team know that Fortuna is not a newcomer in boxing. He knows how to punch too. Pray he does not knock your nan down.
But the question, is Javier Fortuna a household name or not? Majority of us are not aware of this fighter and although he has more fights that Ryan, most likely they are not in the headlines or just in the undercard of another boxing events.

Why do we want to count if a boxer is a household name or not before we think he is good. That is not a right way to judge it. Was Andy Ruiz Jr a household name before he met and defeated Anthony Joshua? Fights are won in the rings and not at home. Good you know he has won more fight than Garcia. Infact, Fortuna has won more fights by KOs alone than the entire fights won by Garcia. Fortuna deserves some respect for he is not a pushover. Eventhough he may be almost a decade older than Garcia and someone will think that can slow him down but I do not think so.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: June 01, 2022, 06:29:53 AM
After his hibernation, he doesn't seem ready yet after his tune-up fight with Tagoe. And now Ryan is facing another unknown boxer who has 1 win streak, which was against a more unknown boxer with a loss rate of almost 50% of the wins.

732  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: June 01, 2022, 05:08:06 AM
Thank you my brother for understanding this mystery.  E simple to understand but some people no wan understand the game. Make I just update us wetin they happen currently for the country because I dey get first hand information.
1. Buhari want Amaechi to succeed him.
2. Tinubu no wan give up for Amaechi. Tinubu no want Amaechi at all and Tinubu no want him son (Osibanjo) because him feel say PYO betrayed him. If Tinubu change mind now endorse PYO,  na wetin go fit make Amaechi get problem.
3. PDP and Atiku know say na Amaechi be Buhari candidate, so dem dey wait make APC give him ticket, then them go use Wike as running mate to Atiku so that him no go fit support him brother Amaechi.
4. But if APC no give Amaechi ticket, Atiku go use Okowa or Udom as running mate.
5. Jagaban don make him plan B finish to shift go SDP incase APC fvck am up.
6. Northern cabals being the king makers want Atiku or Amaechi as the next president.

I like your number 3, 4 and 5 as you take arrange mouth talk am, especially number 5. I go like make e happen self so we go know wetin Tinubu go do. People don too believe in Tinubu even when them deh see signs say the man no deh fit. He is sick and old yet they still deh push am go. But that your number 1 no too enter well for my eye because I know Buhari to always deh nepotistic and will favour his people in the north. E go shock you say he will want a northern candidate to win, irrespective of the party weh him take contest. After all PDP and APC na the same people.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: May 31, 2022, 02:11:21 PM

Am tipping Fortuna to come top in this bout with Garcia. He maybe older but his years of experience in the ring is an advantage over the younger fighter. Having had over 40 bouts and won 37 is an impressive record compared to Garcia's over all 22 bouts. I've watched some of Fortuna's fight which nearly ended in death encounter for his opponents. He still has that fight and am hoping he will bring it on against the more flexible ring dancing Garcia. This bout will be a thing of joy to watch. Whoever wins will be deserving it. But I want Fortuna as winner.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is Shiba getting rugged like Luna? on: May 31, 2022, 12:21:01 PM

I do not know what to make out of the news today about Shiba Inu's founder Ryosh distancing himself from Shiba and deleting all media posts across his handles. Usually this is a red flag and whenever it happens it gives the impression of a rugpull. Is that what we are likely going to have here, a similar situation of investors losing money like they lost in Luna. What is your observation on this? Please share with us.

735  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 30, 2022, 07:33:36 PM
I they reason am say Atiku go carry Wike as him running mate, and if him do that them go fit win the Election because them go really get plenty vote as APC still they confuse of who to give the flag bearer.

You want to burn this country be that o. Na one week 7 troubles e go be. E for be better arrangement to make Wike running mate for Atiku but if this one ever happen, Aso rock go deh deh on fire steady. Wike get hot blood and him mouth no deh rest. One day, Wike fit wake up from sleep begin think say na him be president. Na this same over sabi make Obasanjo no gree pick Rotimi Amaechi for YarAdua. Instead e go pick GEJ give am.

A friend told me that the bitcointalk forum is almost like a proper classroom for learning bitcoin..I want to learn bitcoin in this forum.can you guide me with some guide?

Nice to meet you too. To learn here, my advice to you is that you have to watch others and stay quiet alot of time while reading posts from other members. Also, you have to respect elders and forum rules. Do not be toxic. Did your friend not also tell you about bounties? Sure he did. Here is a good place for cryptocurrency experience and learning. But you have to show determination to succeed by yourself and work towards it.
737  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 30, 2022, 09:00:47 AM
Wike try sha, e no easy. if no be 30 wey dey play am e for dun give atiku more fight. Make we tell ourselves the truth.

Baba, e go as them show 30. Wike just deh run him mouth like new born baby for politics. Instead of him to align with Peter Obi and see wetin them fit achieve he was there casting Obi. Now him don see how the northerners take show am wetin deh. Make him continue to cry o. I see where him deh talk say na deception. Peter Obi saw all those things and japa but Wike no get eyes to see ahead.

If you watch how the power been dey move from PDP to APC during the last election wey bring APC into power you go undetected say Labour Party never get the momentum yet. This election na between PDP and APC.

For Nigeria, nothing like PDP and APC. Which politician never jump from one party to the other, maybe Wike for now. Even Atiku weh people deh talk about sef run enter APC one time, do frog jump comot there again enter PDP. And if to say them deny am ticket for this one e for run enter another party again. Atiku desperation deh warn us of wetin we see with Buhari. I no see any change at all if Atiku or Tinubu becomes president.

Make we dey wait on APC primaries but i no go surprise if na Bola Tinubu emerge, i mean e go be disrespectful to him political career say party wey him start go give another person ticket wey no be am.

That great grandfather should just go and rest. Let him relax and enjoy the rest of his old age with his grand children. We no need another president on medical excursion.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LUNA vs LUNA 2.0 on: May 30, 2022, 06:02:55 AM
Will it be worthwhile to hold and trade LUNC, and will LUNA 2.0 regain trust and position?

Nobody can say for sure how the market is going to react to the latest development in Luna or LUNC whatever it is called now. Trust has been destroyed and alot of investors capital affected too on this. It is one thing not to trust a new project because you do not know what it has to offer and another thing to trust a project that was once attractive but later dumped. This is what Luna is facing now. It will take alot for investors to risk capital on it now. Or they will invest as little as they will not be scared to lose.
739  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 29, 2022, 06:40:36 PM
Everything show, na we wan dey optimistic in vain. Go check poster, all these big men dem, their children don win tickets for Assembly, Senators, Governors etc. Dem don use their children position to succeed them. Politics na their private sector, entitlement and their inheritance, you no fit change am.

No forget say Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State failed to get Senate ticket of him APC party. The matter cast o, e no deh that easy for them as we deh think am here. Na serious battle and na our money them deh take fight the battle. Yesterday, I counted 32 hummer buses weh Wike buy just for that primaries. If them tell you how much of our money weh don go down you go scream. Atiku the same thing. And now many people deh criticise Peter Obi say him deh stingy. Obi na man weh make sense. Every other ones na business them want to take Nigeria do.

This country is not for us, na for them, my prayer be say make God pity us put person wey go give us back this country. Amen!

Nothing concern God for politics o. Na we Nigerians go get up and take our country from the cabals by force. But we need to be united like wetin happen fir that #endsars matter in 2020.
740  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 29, 2022, 04:55:18 AM
Make I SHOCK you full time!
Even if Peter Obi succeed become Nigerian President, he will change NOTHING. Absolutely, he cannot do anything.

My brother, abeg make we no deh get this type of mindset. Optimism deh good for progress, and as people weh go school small e deh necessary for us. Wetin make you think say Obi no go fit defeat the cabals if he is prepared for it. You no see how Adams Oshomole take tackle them for Edo State for him first tenure before he messed up for second tenure? Na strong will e need to do am.

Well, the cut the story short, the only thing wet go correct this abnormalities, na #Ends EndSars Pro or Restructuring. Unless Obi go enter today and quickly restructure the government. But if you continue with the faulty foundation, men go loot you reach your dinning table.

We the youths need to rise up too and take this country by force from this politicians like wetin happen during #endsars. Fear catch all of them, even know he security agents for all the states begin wear mufti go work for fear say civilians fit attack them on the road.
