Is important how many XEM someone has in his wallet for harvesting ? Or do i just need to have 1000 and have the same harvesting "chance" like others with millions ?
It does matter how much XEM you have. POS is still an integral part of POI.

one of the nemsters told me it's possible to harvest with port 7890 closed. please confirm if this is correct?
confirmed. (unless it's completely closed in both directions then you can't communicate with the network at all and therefore you can't push any blocks) Still you should open the port if possible.

If I start local-harvesting and then shutdown NIS will the harvesting instantly stop? And can the same NIS local-harvest on more than one account at the same time? Is it enough to change something in the config? Btw. it's strange that http://nembex.nem.ninja doesn't use the same importance unit as NCC does If you shutdown NIS it can't harvest...simple as that. You should be able to harvest with more than one account on 1 NIS but you need to raise the limit in the config file (as you suggested)

yes i saw now when i clicked on adressbook , i have 2 adresses and 1 says that it have my amount but i do not know what to do now , how to get them back to my normal dashboard?
+1 yep this process is not very clear.... Click over the displayed address in the top left of NCC and it should drop down with a list of addresses. It will have defaulted to the initial wallet address not the address for the imported priv key. You can then click on the cog and set that as the 'Primary' and I presume it will start up with that address selected. You can also remove the empty account if you don't need it (once you made the other one primary)

Is it possible to point 2 wallets at the same remote nis for delegated harvesting? and does your importance score add up?
Yes you can (need to raise the limit in the config file). No it doesn't add up. No pools are possible.

Question is when they will add NEM? Have marketing team contacted Cryptsy and Bitfinex? Of course they have. Not sure about the status though. Volume on Poloniex is pretty hight though so other exchanges should be interested.

think i got a problem , yesterday i push the button " activate delegated harvesting " because i want to see how it works , i got the info from http://blog.nem.io/how-to-use-delegated-harvesting/but when i was awaiting ( 6 hours ) my son closed the program and now , a day later , i started my wallet and see only zero and no transactions and when i try to put in the private key i used yesterday it says this acount has already an acount whit this adress so i do not know where my coins are! someone knows what to do now? any chance you have 2 accounts in that wallet and you have the empty one selected ? You can swtich between accounts by clicking on them.

So once delegated harvesting is active I can start it and shutdown my computer and come back to harvested blocks? Or do I still need to leave my computer on? Sorry if these are stupid questions.
To be able to harvest without leaving your computer on, you have to connect to a remote NIS. The reason is that the node, which is harvesting for you, of course has to keep running. To connect to a remote NIS, you have to open the Settings (in the menu on the left hand side of the client) and enter a host or IP address of a remote NIS. So you can either run a VPS by yourself and then use the host name or IP of that remote NIS or you find somebody who lets you harvest on his/her NIS. Okay, that makes sense, thank you very much. Just another quick question. I had to restart my computer, and when it rebooted it didn't have my wallet. I'm running the stand alone version, because I'm not a huge fan of having Java on my system. I was just wondering if anyone would know why the wallet disappeared? That's very odd. The wallet is just a file and files don't just vanish Also you still have to have java somehwere as the standlaone still needs java just not the 64bit version.

I realised a week ago (I was just randomly checking the forum after a while..) that the Housemates stakes have been listed on the lasted Sockpuppets that I wasn't aware was exiting btw. That happened most probably because we share the same internet connection and sometimes the same PC in living room. Then, I contacted Makoto to tell him what happened and the reason why it happened (we offered to provide documents and identity of each of us), since at the time I helped them with the redemption (no one of them was into altcoin at the time, they didn't had BTC forum account at all, they just trusted me). And what I get ?!? Now also my address is in the Sockpuppets This is what you get when you try to be honest I don't think is fair, because now I cannot get my NEM at lunch, just because I tried to spread the word at the beginning.... Nice way to say thanks. Now we are all stuck. Don't know if that happened to someone else too. But this makes me pretty sad today. Happend to a quite few people. It's a very unfortunate side effect of the sockpuppet removal. You'll get your XEM afterall if you contacted makoto and explained. It sux but there's nothing that can be done about it now.

There are 97 million available for sale on Poloniex already. Not exactly a rare coin now.
Of 8,999,999,999. I'd say that's pretty rare.

sorry guys to be a pain
still the same issue on harvesting
now NIS an NCC are connected and sechronized
I see delegate harvesting is active on the top right on the "importance score"
but when I click on strat delegate harvest I get "error 699"
I guess i'm not harvesting or m'I?
what should I do?
It means you're already harvesting on that node. Did you start harvesting locally ? You can harvest delegated and locally on one node unless you raise the account limit in the config file. ok maybe i'm harvesting locally but how do I stop? and how do I see if I'm harvesting or not? Having the same issue. Where can i check if local harvest is on and where can i turn if off? (prety sure both are on) My guess right now is that you guys somehow managed to activate both local and remote harvesting or at least the client thinks so. Klick on stop harvesting (remote or local what ever you see right now). Maybe then the button for the other type of harvesting will re-appear and then you can stop that as well. Then choose one type and one type only and start that. There is no stop harvesting for me only start delegated harvesting... I haven't recive and coins from harvest for 12h how many time should I get coins on avg? there is no avg for that. It depends on a lot of things. Could you post a screenshot of the client as you see it right now ? also try to stop the software (ncc and nis) and restart it. Maybe that will bring the stop button back since the client seems to be confused right now since you clicked both.

Will local node and remote node have to run at the same time to do delegated harvesting?
No they don't have to run at the same time. Only the node you're harvesting on needs to run. Anything else would defeat the point of the excecise.
|
|
|
NO. If you're getting error 699, it means you have tried harvesting with >1 account on a single machine. By default NIS is setup to allow only SINGLE harvester. If you want to increase the number change unclockedLimit in NIS settings: # Maximum number of unlocked accounts. Meaning: maximum number of accounts that are allowed to use this NIS for harvesting nis.unlockedLimit = 1
I have only one open.... don't know what to do.... I tried changing the host with no success please help any change you harvested locally and now trying to do delegated ? That's like harvesting with multiple accounts at once. ok maybe I don't understand I'm harvesting locally... but what is correct and can I only harvest locally is that ok? Yep, that's perfectly fine.
