Lakers still not out of the clutches of Grizzlies, 106-102.

James and Monk hit back to back 3's. But the Grizzlies responded back with a 5-0 run in the last minute or two. So it's going to be another close game and Lakers although has the lead is not sure of taking their first win tonight. Last 5 minutes, anything can happen so let's see how it goes.

An intense close game in dying minutes and the Lakers got the win in the end. Still, a big effort for Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant producing 40 big points, and his support manage to get a double-digit scoring. On the Los Angeles Lakers side, Westbrook still having difficulty finding his rhythm but is still able to make a double-double notably with his 13 assists. Carmelo Anthony also has a good percentage tonight.

The Lakers now get their 1st win since pre-season. The question now is consistency on which I know they will work on it while on progress.

The Lakers really needed that win.  They barely snuck it out on the back of Carmelo Anthony's team leading 28 points on 10-15 shooting.  I'm glad he's already off to such a great start in his new role.  Westbrook's 9 turnovers and 33% fg shooting isn't getting it done.  He needs to figure out what's going on.

Ja was the star of the game though.  Making those old guys look like it's time to retire out there.

Watching the Nets vs Hornets game and it’s so weird seeing LaMelo Ball out there playing against Durant and Harden. It seems like he shouldn’t fit in but he holds his own. It’s crazy such an immature kid can be out there with greats putting on a show. It doesn’t seem right. but it’s happening. That kid has surpassed all my expectations for him by quite a bit already.

LA Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies has started I wanted to see another dunk like this.

What do you think guys? are they capable of getting into the playoffs after winning this game?

Paul George dominated the game and they still lost. Maybe Memphis is better than I had given them credit for, but the Clippers look like they’re in trouble without Leonard. Pretty hard to believe when just a couple years ago they were huge favorites as the next big super team. They really underperformed expectations. It seems like the leagues journeyman like Westbrook, Anthony, George, Harden, DeAndre Jordan, never quite find themselves the success they search for. That only seems to work for LeBron and Durant.

What sort of late 80's hip-hop vinyl do you have?  I'm always looking for some classics for the 1200s.  It's been a while since I bought any wax.  I was just thinking the other day I need to find a local record store and go support.  Would love to see what you've got in your collection.  There are some late 70s classic rock albums I've been searching for as well.  I'm always curious to hear vinyl collector's thoughts on the best record players out there too if you have an opinion on that.  I was thinking I need to get one of those old horn style players.
7227  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] "What is Bitcoin?" silkscreened posters - Edition 1 & Edition 2 on: October 23, 2021, 09:35:16 PM
Gotta let Cyrus get this one so we can see them in the background of a Bitcointalk YouTube podcast.  Smiley

Every time I see these posters come up for sale I'm reminded of just how awesome they are.  I have them hanging in my dining room and they are among my favorite Bitcoin collectibles.  I just wish when we were all creating cool things back in the day we would have loaded them all with BTC so their value would have maintained their worth.

Good luck with the bidding!
7228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 23, 2021, 09:32:49 PM
I don't believe this yet...  I'd love to see it.  I'd put Mike Tyson up against any human being on earth when it comes to boxing and feel confident Mike has a chance.  Maybe it's my nostalgia talking, but he's the baddest man on the planet.

Logan has quite a bit of size on him and obviously youth, but Mike isn't like Logan.  He comes from a place of pain and I don't think Logan is going to come out of it with his consciousness in tact.  Sucks to see it's an exhibition and there will probably be all sorts of rules to discourage knockouts, but Mike is a monster.

I'm crossing my fingers this happens.  Mostly because Mike deserves the payday and it would really help his business ventures outside the ring.  I'd probably even pay for this pay-per-view just to support him.

My regular portfolio drops 2% in a week and I'm eating ramen for dinner.  My crypto portfolio can drop more than the value of my house in an hour and I just chuckle.  I don't know why.  I guess I just don't worry so much about my BTC holdings because I know that the government isn't going to stop printing money anytime soon and most likely any dip is temporary.  The macro environment is just too fresh for Bitcoin's dominance to fear.  So long as you aren't trading with leverage, I don't see why you'd care about the price unless you're going to sell.  The lower the better in every other scenario.

I suppose the loaded mcc bothers people.

why would it bother people?

Seems like that would be the main reason to buy them for me.  I didn't purchase one because they aren't solid silver and I don't want to bother storing coins that aren't at least that, but the idea, design, complimentary products/packaging...  All look great.  If the liquid network is ever stabilized and used by people maybe these tokens will be worth something in the future as collectibles.

Now that Fluffypony is an infamous international criminal I would think they are probably sought after by a whole new crowd of collectors.  I just wish they were .999 silver...

They did show some promise at the end after the Suns were making them look foolish.  They cut the lead from 30 down to 12 and then pulled the stars.  A good way to end I guess, but it took them being disrespected on their home court in order to make it happen.  I need to find out more about what happened between Dwight and AD.  I'm really hoping tonight was a bit of a rock bottom moment for them and they rally from here and start kicking ass.  I don't think I'm ready to accept that so many of the greats I watched for so long can no longer compete.
Please do. I found the replay in a streaming services but I can't hear what they are saying.
According here it was just about the defensive coverage of both players and Howard said it's okay, they are brothers. I am not sure if it's just to cover the truth.

I think the losing game is what intensifies their emotions. So much was expected on them and they are shouldering it all and I do think that is also the reason they are all stiffed. It's only Rondo that looks calm of them all with his 3's getting in (14 mins 2/3), but AD, Lebron, and even WB are missing easy shots especially the lay-ups.
Just as I thought chemistry will be their biggest issue. 9 new players, it's like 1st day of elementary school.  Grin

After watching the postgame interview it looked like Howard was cool about the situation but AD seemed obviously still annoyed.  I don't remember what happened on the play, but it looked like AD went up to say something to Howard who was sitting down and when Howard got up to confront AD there were problems...  AD had a pretty off night shooting and looked downright terrible up until the end of the game.  I'm sure that had something to do with it.

After seeing the night's highlights though, Durant seems to be the story of the evening.  He was on one tonight...

This Lakers vs Suns game is getting hard to watch. The Suns have started flat out disrespecting the Lakers vets and making them look like old men out there. Even the fans are getting in on the act now with a court side fan being removed for messing with Rondo. LeBron checked out of the game and doesn’t seem like he wants to be out there. The new look Lakers aren’t looking so hot thus far…

I pretty much thought watching the Celtics play was the worse thing that could happen tonight, but men this is worse... Westbrook, LeBron and Anthony Davis getting schooled like the odds weren't before the game.

I guess it's going to take a while before these three (AD, Westbrook, and LeBron) would learn to play together, and the body language of LeBron in the 2nd half so far has been a big NO for me,from complaining about almost everything to not joining his teammates up court during transitions.

We are into a small correction right now but I believe after this correction we can now continue going up and there’s still a higher chance that we can reach that $70k mark this Month so keep monitoring. We will end 2021 with a great price, though there’s still a chance for Bitcoin to go down especially if many will take profit just to spend for their holiday season.
This correction is way better to be seen as soon as possible so what's happening is essential and needed for bitcoin to move to the next price ceiling.
I do have a big hope that 2021 will be ending great just like 2020 and that's the reason why I'm firmly holding and looking forward to have a better year next year. But if it doesn't happen, no need to rush and will remain to be a firm holder.

I would agree this is a dip and I think it’s always needed in markets like this to clear out excess leverage. The pigs always need to get slaughtered. I’m not on this 2022 will be a great year for crypto train though. There are always houses of cards built that come crumbling down after gigantic gains and I think that’s what we’re about to see. I think if the next couple months bring you life changing opportunities, you would be wise to take advantage.

That bug definitely makes the case for having standing buy order well out of the money.  I've seen this happen several times in my trading career with different equities.  I've never managed to catch one, but have tried.  It's just hard to keep dry powder sitting locked in out of the money orders, but in this case it proved to be extremely profitable.

Last time I saw something like this happen in Bitcoin was back in the summer of 2011 when mtgox crashed the price down to pennies and then rolled back all the trades (I lost several hundred BTC as a result of that rollback).  At least the market has matured to the point where a rollback like that would be considered insane.
7236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: October 22, 2021, 07:05:42 PM
We've now clearly completed what is essentially a double top (first in the spring, and now this one). This is the clearest and most devastating bearish signal in bitcoin's history and further confirms what will unfold in the future -- i.e. down, down, down.

In order for a double top to be confirmed we would need to see the price drop below $30K again.  I don't see that happening.  Also, we've already been over this once already.  All time highs occur in December.  Wait 45-50 more days and then bump this thread to keep from sounding like a perpetually wrong broken record.

There are only a few moments in time when it would have been possible to lose money buying Bitcoin.  If you're seeing things as "down, down, down" then I would recommend you zoom out a bit on the chart or try reading it right side up.

Found myself some free time to grab the data off an old machine and get it uploaded to Pastebin so hopefully it does not get lost again.  I'm putting the links here to help with that cause.

As NASTY (NastyFans) is the only remaining survivor of the Global Bitcoin Securities Exchange project that was once full of different offerings, I thought it might be nice to have the data available.  Surely someday there will be people curious about the oldest crypto security in existence. Smiley

Wow. Steph was on fire tonight. Putting up 45 and 10 in a 2 point win against the Clippers. Warriors not wasting any time showing the Los Angeles teams who is boss. Curry looking like a scoring champ out there already this season. I’m surprised how well they’re doing and anxious to see how they look once Klay Thompson gets himself back in the lineup.

0-1 in the regular season so far, still looking for my first win.

We have only 3 games on the table, but I was able to pick the best one for me.
Tonight, I have the Miami Heat to win against the Bucks.

From slight underdog to favorites now, I got the Heat @-2.5, GL!

Lol, Heat just smothered the Bucks by big 40+ points so enough to covered you spread mate, congrats to your first win.

I haven't bet on this game though, I'm 1-1 so far but we all know that there's plenty of games in the calendar for us so better be smart in choosing our bets. Warriors vs Clippers is close, but if I have to bet, I will go with the Warriors yet.

I hadn’t seen the box scores yet and that does sound like the Bucks caught a beat down. Safe to say the Heat covered. They’ve got a pretty good team this year after a busy couple of offseasons signing players. I don’t think they’re as good as they showed here tonight, and maybe is more of a sign of how exhausted the team is after giving their all against the Nets and not yet being in playing shape.

Seems more like a gimmick than anything else given the fees involved and KYC requirements. Still, if people were willing to jump through all of these hoops to get some of their change turned into Bitcoin, it would probably be a good thing. At least until they go to send those coins somewhere and see the fees eat all their money. More companies like Coinbase need to offer merchant services to pick up the slack where L1 has failed.
