7221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk Sees Bitcoin Price Reaching $69,000 on: October 21, 2021, 07:37:20 AM
It is pretty crazy to think BTC at $69,000 and ETH at $4,200 is probably going to be happening simultaneously thanks for the childish nature of the internet.  It's hilarious when you think about it.  A trillion dollar asset basically having it's price manipulated by a massive amount of people to show a price that will get a chuckle.  This is real life...  I'm all for it though.  Might have to set up a small buy/sell spread around $69K to do my part to help the cause.   Cheesy

7223  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Biggest Loser Raffle] 1oz .999 Silver Bitcoin Binary Round on: October 21, 2021, 05:05:34 AM
Great raffle, hope to see more of these in the future! Congratz winner and sorry loser  Grin

I originally thought about doing it where the loser has to buy everyone else a coin, but that seemed a little harsh. It would definitely be more funny though. If there were 16 people willing to risk $640 then we could make it happen. If that sounds fun, let me know and if there’s a few people who are down I’ll give it a shot. Since payment is made after I guess it can’t hurt to try.

7226  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: October 20, 2021, 11:39:35 PM
It looks like Tesla has removed all the options from the Cybertruck preordering page. There is no mention of the different models whatsoever on the ordering page now. That’s an interesting development that hasn’t been seen before with other models. Hopefully it means they’re about to add a revamped page to finalize all the options and not bad news involving more delays.
When Bitcoin price was about $40k then Elon car price may be +6 btc but now Bitcoin price more than $65k today ...so page may update running weeks with price details...

I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying, but I doubt it’s any technical issue keeping them from updating the page. If I’m able to track the price in BTC then I’m sure Tesla can do it with no problem. I think more likely they’re trying to discourage preorders since they’ll never be able to ship them all.

Price of Cybertruck when ordered: 6.59229 BTC
Current price of my Cybertruck:

Alright, it looks like we’re all filled up and ready for fun. How about these for some block selections…

The winner of the silver prize will be chosen by block 705929 and the biggest loser will be none other than the user chosen by upcoming block number 705945. Suspense doesn’t work quite the same when reading text, so the delay between the two blocks is to provide that suspenseful excitement we all so dearly crave.

7230  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much would you like to see Bitcoin priced in 2022? on: October 20, 2021, 10:24:14 AM
Do you think Bitcoin will touch the 1 million milestone in 2022? I think Bitcoin will cross 80 thousand dollars in 2022. What do you think?

I don’t think it’ll hit 1 million in 2022. It’s possible in 2025, but even that seems unlikely. I’d expect to see a repeat of the pattern we’ve been seeing, and a fall from starting the year around $200K to possibly falling to $40K before falling into a consolidation period for a few years. Then maybe the blastoff upwards to new highs in 2025. We’ll see though. With the stock to flow model going into unrealistic multiples next year, it will be interesting to watch where the market goes.
7231  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2011 Casascius 1 btc Coin on: October 20, 2021, 10:18:45 AM
Nice coin and the pictures are great quality. If (big if) my eyes don’t deceive me that appears to have the series 2 hologram with the corrected spelling of Casascius. I believe this is the more rare of the 2 2011 Casascius coins that were sold. Great to see one hitting the sales block here and good luck with your sale. Trade safely!
7232  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Immersion cooling - Beeminer hive - water consumption on: October 20, 2021, 08:27:19 AM
Hello miners!

We are working on the model for a mining farm and would like to learn from you regarding immersion cooling for Antminer S19 Pro 110 THs/ and/or S19j Pro 100 TH/s, with Beeminer Hive setup.

Basically, our question is: "X amount of water to keep it at Y temp"

Maybe you have some experience? At least in our model, the water cost looks super high...

Any feedback is appreciated. Many thanks!

Immersion cooling is like the holy grail of mining.  Very few pull it off successfully, but we all want to do it.  I've had installation quotes in the low six figures to get a finished product installed in my garage.  It isn't a simple thing to pull off.  Maybe you mean liquid cooling, which is like using a radiator to cool, where immersion cooling is submersing your miner in liquid?

In any event, if you do make an immersive mining model that uses "water" to keep it at cool temps, be sure to have a video camera recording when you flip the on switch.  I'd like to see the ensuing fireworks show.
7233  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It ends now because we said so! on: October 20, 2021, 08:21:49 AM
Well, it doesn't end that fast. It will end for (almost) everybody, personally, within about 2 years after they get vaxxed.

You don't really believe that do you?  It would be the end of the world as we know it.  I don't think anyone wants that.  The rich people just want to keep the rats from spreading disease, the same way chicken farmers feed millions of pounds of antibiotics to chickens every year knowing they only metabolize about 20% of it.  Even the chickens probably aren't dumb enough to think this is done for their benefit...

The absolute worst possible nefarious government plot I could think of would be if the vaccine was found to cause kids of vaccinated parents to become sterile.  It would take long enough where most of the old rich people making the decisions would be dead before the backlash, and it would be widespread to the population before anyone was aware the vaccine was a population control.

If I had my choice though, I think the most entertaining outcome would be if aliens were behind the vaccine and are trying to clear our society of diseases before they take us over as to not fall into the pitfalls written about in the classic War of the Worlds.
7234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 20, 2021, 08:13:39 AM
There's a documentary series on Netflix right now called "Bad Sport" that did a great episode on fixed matches of ASU basketball games primarily by a player named Stevin 'Hedake' Smith.  I was unfamiliar with the story and thought it was well done.  Amazing how people can take advantage of others...  He got himself in debt for a few thousand dollars and ends up throwing away a promising career in basketball so that some rich guy can make millions of dollar gambling.  These are the stories you don't hear often about the desperation of people to get out of debt by any means necessary.
7235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 20, 2021, 06:56:21 AM
Bucks leading the Nets in the second quarter. Giannis is taking the first game seriously and they want to proved that winning last season's championship is no fluke.

James Harden leading the Nets, and so is Patty Mills, I guess they won't miss Kyrie as Patty is a very solid all around player.

Score: 50-37 - Bucks.

I did not see the live game but that quarter was the 50-37 - Bucks.. is that in favor of the nets or the Bucks. I can only see the per quarter score now and the Bucks really dominate in 3 quarters, except in the 2nd quarter, they were so good that they prove why they were the champion.

I watched it and my take was that Giannis was too big for the Nets. He seemed to be having his way with them all night. Harden seemed to be struggling too. He wasn’t controlling the offense the way he usually does. I don’t think they could have won that game the way they were playing even if Kyrie was there. Durant did OK, but he seemed to be forcing shots. They seemed to be out of playing shape. Might take a few games before they start looking good.
7236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 20, 2021, 04:57:46 AM
Man… We wait all summer to see the new look Lakers and the Nets back in action and they both lose. Not totally out of the realm of being expected since the Lakers are still trying to figure out how to play together and the Nets are without their point guard. Still, I’m hoping this doesn’t last too long. I want to see some highlights and blowouts!
7237  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Biggest Loser Raffle] 1oz .999 Silver Bitcoin Binary Round on: October 20, 2021, 12:42:24 AM
5 Please and thank you

I don’t see any trust ratings for you so I hesitate to add you to the list. Anyone want to vouch for the kid?

Great to see so much participation so far. I guess people weren’t lying when they said they wanted some raffle fun. I’ll have to see what craziness I can concoct next. Rarely a shortage of ideas in my ear separator.

7239  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] Casascius Brass 0.5 BTC Coin on: October 19, 2021, 10:36:11 PM
I didn't get any messages about the 0.69 BTC tentative offer on this Casascius coin so I think I will most likely start an auction for it at 0.65 BTC and see if anyone is interested in bidding.  I need to get it and get pics and all that wonderful stuff first...

I also hear that people want raffles but I don't think this is the coin for it (I'd love to be wrong if there were enough folks to pull it off).  I'll toss something fun up to keep people busy with a different prize and see what happens.

Man… Ben Simmons got kicked out of practice and suspended today… The drama continues. We’ll have to wait for more details on what occurred, but I think it’s safe to say that Ben Simmons won’t be making up with Philadelphia anytime soon. I really don’t think the sixers have any choice at this point but to dump him off to Sacramento for Fox and try to salvage something from the Ben Simmons failed experiment.
