I'm increasing the price to BTC 1.29. I'm slowly but surely to run out of stock and want to slow selling a bit.
7222  Economy / Goods / Re: [SALE]: Casascius 1 BTC Coin only BTC 1.26 incl. worldwide shipping on: March 28, 2013, 08:02:45 AM
Are they 2012's? If so I will take 3 : ]]

They are (it says 2012 on the front side of the coin, like the ones you can see in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=154083.msg1672933#msg1672933)

please pay 3.78 BTC to 1FN5VqAhnfy32gp8fJNfGiKydd4xAY8Aj3 to confirm the order and PM shipping info.

Only the bears seem to be ignoring/not understanding the fundamentals, which is why I guess only the bears have been seeing a bubble since the 20s

I'd say I've seen a couple of small bubbles. The thing is that a bubble deflating in the face of an underlying increase can still lead to a positive gradient.

And don't forget, there can be negative bubbles too. Less likely with fedgov running the presses until they glow red hot but nonetheless...

The thing is, there certainly are the right conditions for a bubble. Too much cash with nowhere to go. OTOH BTC is undervalued right now so cash may not be inflating a bubble, just inflating a ball to the right pressure.

This is Bitcoin in my eyes right now:

nah, more like a slime mold:

7225  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: March 27, 2013, 07:37:36 PM
Yes, and I also much rather have a kinda usable platform that is built on a solid basis instead of a bunch of hacks and the most glamorous UI instead. Smiley
woah one on my side, each time R say something about UI or eye candy i am like "noooooooooooooooooooooo" first more features and things like that.

except when it's usability-related. You should consider then. If it's just cosmetics... fuck it, I don't care.

$9.5M vs 45k BTC

SPON: "Virtuelle Währung Bitcoin auf Rekordhoch"

oh mann. Die Kommentare zeugen teilweise von verheerennden Missverständnissen. Es dauert noch, bis Bitcoin im Mainstream so richtig ankommt... rally geht also noch auf unbestimmte Zeit weiter, da is noch erhebliches Potential.
7228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 02:25:08 PM
I might sell in bitcoin.de once I have finished the most urgent purchases first Smiley

Did you mean "buy"? Not sure because it might make sense for you to sell there, too.
7229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 02:22:08 PM
All the action seems to have come from the Eurozone today -- all movement was during morning hours in Europe and afternoon in Asia.

During US daylight hours, things seem to have slowed down.

Quite a milestone in China, we breached CNY500. That's quite a chunk of change.

Random theory:  A lot of the new money is coming from Asia and Europe while most of the old Bitcoins were mined and held by Americans. As the new money comes in the old, weak, feeble hands of the Americans dump.

Now we have ASICs Cool, here is the grand plan of the imperial army:

1. Mine a few 10Ks of bitcoins;
2. Putting up a Great Chinese wall, in case it's not enough fear, throw a few stones of coins down and scare the shit out of weak American hands;
3. Buy all the coins they dump at low price points;
4. PROFIT!!

Mine??? Ok, you mean avalon? Well, consider this: China has 3.5 Trillion USD worth in forex reserves they don't know how to spend without devaluing these things too much. Enter Bitcoin.... ;-)
7230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 02:10:52 PM
hey rpietila (and other who need to buy loads).

I know it's high price, but there's quite the liquidity on bitcoin.de:

a plus for bitcoin.de compared to other exchanges: no wait for SEPA, you can lock in the trade right away and then make the SEPA transfer to the seller afterwards (you have 24 hours to initiate it).

that's 1900 BTC below €79.50 you can take right now without first moving the 150K EUR to some exchange.

+1. bitcoin.de already trading at €75 (=$95)

on the runups the markets with fast SEPA access trade considerably higher than mtgoxUSD and also mtgoxEUR (currenlty €68).

Doesn't gox have a SEPA account somewhere? In any case: it's a good thing. The mtGox centralization is a bit like the sword of damocles.
7232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 01:56:47 PM
In the grand scheme of things this run from the teens to ~$90 will appear very short lived and ridiculously bubble-ish.  Years from now at the bottom of the coming correction we'll all recognize how absurd it is that BTC traded at this level.

How do you not hate yourself for having such bad judgement?

I think I figured out how the proudhon-effect works (I'm not sure he's aware, but probably is): Look how many extremely bullish and wise replies this one measly comment generated. 1 measly bear-comment (by proudhon, no less) == 5-10 insightful bull comments. And of course, insightful bull comments result in immediate buying pressure and hence higher price.
7233  Economy / Goods / Re: [SALE]: Casascius 1 BTC Coin only BTC 1.26 incl. worldwide shipping on: March 27, 2013, 01:50:33 PM
Does anyone have a link to cheap, decent cases for the coins? Probably don't want to buy more than a few if I can help it.

If you're "forced" to buy more to get a cheap price, consider reselling the remainder Wink

In The grand theme of things this runup will look like a flat line just a hair above 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjYrursFkJQ

This video was made by the IRS, starring IRS employees, using $60,000 of taxpayer money. I was able to get through about 1 minute of it before I just had to turn it off. It is just awful on so many levels.

I made it to 1:10.

Just about where I stopped viewing also. And this is where I stop reading the rest of this thread.

Why?
7237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 06:37:27 AM
84!

only page 810! we need to post moar if we are going to get to page 1000 before btc gets to 100!

As of now im not even sure about that, if we hit first the page 1000 before btc hits 100$ or otherwise..

The real question is: when will we reach postcount-parity?
7238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 06:34:21 AM
EDIT: Better answer: 'Daddy, what is a dollar? '

'A unit of weight used for gold. However the meaning was during a short period of time alienated by slave-drivers to mean a slip of paper with certain patterns printed on it.'
7239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 27, 2013, 06:30:37 AM
look for example at the 18 day exponential average in this chart:

I'm guessing people are waiting for a smack-down similar to that. They think the price is too high... until it gets higher. Then they think it was low before and why the f... didn't they buy and at some point decide to screw it and actually buy.

It's hard to believe bitcoin can just keep going up ("what goes up has to come down at some point")

Indeed.

Remember kids, the longer Bitcoin operates, the more valid a store of wealth it becomes. The more "tests of time," so to speak, it will encounter.

What goes up, always came down... until Bitcoin.  Cool

Albeit eventually something better than Bitcoin will come out and the price will tank, or maybe not. Maybe it updates to keep up with the quantum revolution. That is easily 15 years or more away.

The more belief we get in the system, the more brilliant it shines.

Just for the record: I'm totally with you. Bitcoin ain't coming down again, not against the USD.

Well, if you're not selling the broken coins, but you happen to make just one more "mistake", can I have it? hehe.

I have a coin with the sticker pealed off (still some glue sticking to it). I could send it to you for shipping cost of BTC 0.02 (non-tracked, non-insured normal international letter, no guarantee). It's a 2011 coin and the brass has darkened considerably (however I think it can be made to look nice again using the right cleaner, like brasso or maybe something more "common", not sure).
