7242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: April 05, 2017, 02:36:34 PM
Litecoin is officially dead, and a man is selling his house to buy litecoins, someone is crazy here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854113.0
Looks there is something coming for litecoin, now its on 0.007 btc now, I think I will buy some just in case, I missed some good trains in past months, I wouldn`t like to miss this also.

This thread is proof that no-one can predict the future!
almost 3 years on and LTC is most certainly not dead instead it was just simmering !!
7243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy Litecoin Inmediately. on: April 05, 2017, 05:51:08 AM
http://segwit.co/ltc.

Its reading 61.3% at the moment
I don't know what your source is showing 61% while this: http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php shows 68%
Either way, Op is totally right, with SegWit activated (even thought LTC didn't need it as bad as BTC needs it) effect on price will be huge.
It might be the biggest upward trend in the LTC history or... nothing will happen when people will realize that it is 'only' LTC.

That link i was looking at was just showing ......

Segwit miner support (percentage of segwit blocks signaling within the current activation period)   1629 (62.01%)

I think?

7245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin after the .......... on: April 04, 2017, 03:06:29 PM
The greatest feature of LTC is its age.
Even though not dying is nice (well it's fundamental), it's not enough for a bright future, and right now many other projects run faster (ETH above all). Some new announcements are needed to believe in a far future.

Likely depends on how fast the Lightning network is added. Considering the money already invested in it's development I will not be surprised to see it implemented quickly (within weeks). Watch for this announcement and then LTC is in an extremely competitive position.

Nobody can actually predict the future, maybe Nostradamus. but one thing is certain, if  Segwit get activated on LTC and does what was promised it would do, there is a good probability of the price spiking and surpassing Dash because for me the instant send on Dash will not be as marketable as it is today

yea I know no-one can predict the future, just looking for ideas maybe
based on past experiences with other currencies

so its fair to say so that the Segwit and Lightening upgrades [faster transactions and lower fees]
would drag LTC more in line with newer currencies.

it is fair to say that LTC could leapfrog DASH into 4th place if/when its market cap bulks up.
7246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin after the .......... on: April 04, 2017, 11:52:53 AM
Great questions and I believe no one knows the answer to those questions.

But with Segregated Witness and Lightning Network both active on Litecoin and Bitcoin networks that would enable instant swaps without the need for a central exchange, and that would be pretty awesome.

Yes this sounds like something I had in my head but didnt know how to explain it I suppose.

I wouldnt like to see a kind of "flash in the pan" scenario where this current trend is just
pump and dump and LTC lands back at .00000800BTC and lies in an almost dormant state
for another 5 years

7247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin after the .......... on: April 04, 2017, 09:59:39 AM
So as everyone has noticed there is a lot of interest
and activity surrounding LTC, and im sure we are all
have a vested interest in its movements  Wink

But I wondering and thinking about the long term forecast apart from
the hop on hop off trading going on now.

what happens after all the hyper trading?
does the value revert back to its January level for example?
does it reach a new base level?
does it finally become what everyone keeps eluding to and be that *Silver"?

7258  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: March 09, 2017, 03:26:13 PM
I think the main point people who hate muslim because of the isis effect but not all of the muslems are bad isis member have another religion too so make sure the point wont go wrong Cool

no dont hate Muslims, that is too general!

During the horrific bombings in the UK in the 80's carried out by the IRA
honest decent Irish people living there were made to feel very unwelcome by SOME poeple.

its very easy to be general.
I have a muslim family living beside me and they refuse to teach their children any religion
they want them to learn them selves and make their choice.

Think of the Billions of people who have been killed to date in the name of RELIGION
This is a very rare case. The family who lives next to you not Muslims, just Arabs? Maybe they are atheists? Usually Muslim tradition, forcibly imposed on children before they can make an informed choice.

no they are Muslim! but they see the problems organised religion has caused throughout history
they are not willing to force their children into the same religion purely because thats what happened to
them without having a choice. That doesnt mean they are raising them without proper values.
