7261  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: August 28, 2013, 04:19:18 PM
First, sorry for the delay of delivery. Our design decision changed a lot during the last few months, resulting a unified new blade design which had also gone into many iterations.

The purchasers will all be fulfilled with new blades. And furthermore it won't be merely upgrades. They are extra.

I'm assuming by this you mean its not a trade in - it never was. The problem with just getting new blades now is they're worth (to us, and costs you) almost nothing. The promise assumed they would be worth 15-25 on delivery, NOT 2-4btc. That's 11-23 difference, small money for you, big money for us.
7262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: August 28, 2013, 04:08:58 PM
...guys the point isnt the original price. The point is he promised us all either total upgrades or partial upgrades - and hasn't delivered. These promises when purchased had a financial value, something that is dwindling to almost nothing.

The argument is if he made millions off these sales, he should at least keep to his promise.
7263  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: August 28, 2013, 02:43:08 PM
translation: "we will ship new blades once they're worthless". Would have rather had an old blade when they were worth something.
7264  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow varrious vendor hate in here? on: August 28, 2013, 02:41:58 PM
I think that there needs to be a subform for the big players like BFL, Avalon, KNC etc. On the front page there are 10+ BFL threads and its sickening. The BFL buyers dont even read nevermind search, they all think they are the chosen ones. At least this way we'd have somewhere to put them all.

And ps, I would still be a mod for custom hw if asked.
7265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom Hardware Association (Call for Ideas) on: August 28, 2013, 01:42:13 PM
While I wish you all the best, this fundamentally doesn't solve anything. If I'm BFL and I promise to deliver in 2 weeks, I also promise to agree to your terms. I then break both, what are you going to do?

The only remote way this would work is if manufacturers agree to hold a deposit with the association - which they won't.
7266  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: August 28, 2013, 01:37:04 PM
It's not a broken promise. I think friedcat decided to use the new board designs on their new chips instead. (Or, at least they didn't want to mass manufacture the boards until gen2 tapeout)

Regardless, as another person on that auction right along side you, I will make sure you receive one of these boards.

I don't believe its a broken promise either, but the compensation needs to be appropriate. For B1s I believe it should be something with 15-25btc MARKET value as that's what was reasonably expected. For B2-B3+, 3-5btc would be appropriate.
7267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: August 28, 2013, 01:02:49 PM
Dogie, not going to budge on your hosting/group buying idea for these things?  I would imagine you would get a lot of support of people taking you up on that offer and I am sure that you could set your own hosting price at a pretty high percent...

Financially it doesn't work because the resellers are clearing their stock at 5BTC, and once clear will get the new stock and probably retail at 3.5 again. The distribution network makes it pointless for anyone else to attempt to challenge this.

Can I also remind friedcat about his outstanding promise the community, which is still unfulfilled at the cost of 100s of btcs:

All ASICMiner Erupter Blades sold in batches [B1, B2, B3, B3+] were promised free upgrades. B2-B3+ were promised new power modules and ethernet controllers. B1 more importantly were promised free upgrades of the entire blades. These new blades were meant to arrive pretty sharpish, although in a later PM friedcat then delayed that to 1-3 months from the start of June [Ie July to end of August].

This deadline has now passed, and the value of replacement blades has fallen to 10th of the price they were. It is also worth noting that every purchase in B1-3+ never made ROI, not even close. Only Friedcat made the millions.

tldr: The point of this thread is to remind us that there is a current promise that has been left unfulfilled. Both B1 customers awaiting new blades, and B2-B3+ awaiting new power and ethernet boards are still waiting. For the man hailed as the king of in hand hardware, these unfulfilled preorder promises taste sour.

While the first round's customers will have a free upgrade to newer blades, this round's [*B2-B3+] customers will have the free upgrade of the newer power modules and ethernet controllers only.

...The upgrade will probably be 1-3 months later, when we could replace each blade with two 16-chip more compact, stable and user-friendly mini-blades.

Best regards,
friedcat

I'll set up a group buy/hosting now.

Nevermind. I was planning to host a huge quantity of these again but forgot just how 'old' this hardware is now. Overclocked its nearly 10W per GH, compared to even avalons which are 10W/GH but much higher density, easier powering and cooling. Very hard to direct the heat from blades.

Then we look at the new Bitfury generation, less than 1W per GH...

Dont forget BTC scales with difficulty. Did you account for that? And if BTC is 300 at the end of the year, what does that mean? its more than doubled its efficiency.

If you require price increase to ROI, then you might as well just buy and hold btc.

I'm considering you for ignore list. What you say is true, but we already know BFL is scum. You making another thread about it every 36 hours doesn't help anything.

And do you really not have anything better to do?

It's been too hot to steal barn wood--according to Josh's claims--at night, thus this. Did you know that there are some people on this forum that only recently learnt about Sonny Vleisides? Amazing, ain't it?

Feel free to ignore me. FYI, I have nobody on my ignore list, nor never will, but...and it's a big but...if I were to consider anybody to be put on such a list, I wouldn't threaten them first--I would just do it.

BTW, my ignore turned orange during the Bitcoinica episodes of which I was out $20K indirectly, and a guy here in Sandwich, IL, is out $10K directly, thanks to me introducing him to Bitcoin. Currently, I'm out over $100K with InstaWallet. There is tens of millions at stake with BFL. (There are people here in Sandwich that honestly believe that I'm one of the main guys behind Bitcoin, of which I find odd given that I honestly didn't even know what screen Josh was in reference to in his infamous November, 2012, post until last night.)

At one time, being ignored bothered me. But not anymore.

Reading a small handful of your posts, I see that you're a good guy, thus now apologizing if my actions bother you. Unfortunately, there's a helluva lot at stake here.

Later, bud. (signed with such when I don't have the red-ass toward whom I'm addressing)

Bruno Kucinskas

I agree with everything you're saying, but I'm politely pointing out the volume of your threads could be considered spam. For every 1 of me who bothers to post that, there are probably 10 others eyeing the button.

tldr: is there a more constructive way to 'update' us of findings, or even should these be going direct to scam accusations?

Thread claiming stuff we can never verify, in order to launch another thread with a preorder.
