7341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: August 25, 2017, 02:25:51 PM

Of course, Litecoin lacks real development and innovation, but as long as it remains a usable and actively traded cryptocurrency, it will remain on the market for many years to come. One thing for sure is that Litecoin has a well unified community, unlike Bitcoin, pushing upgrades at a faster rate, allowing it to scale smoothly without any forthcoming issues.

No Litecoin does not lack real development and innovation
?Segwit, Litening network before Bitcoin?
I think Charlie Lee and the Dev Team are very proactive
and the recent news that Litecoin is adopting Atomic Swaps

7342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about future of Monero? on: August 25, 2017, 11:50:26 AM
Monero has a good dev team and a strong community. They are actually doing something useful too (privacy).

It will end up being one of the survivors after the cryptobubble bursts.

yea Monero is probably the currency of choice for anyone
wanting private and secure transactions. These features will
always be in demand. Its current value suggests it is quite healthy now.
7343  Economy / Goods / Re: [ WTS ] 20 Gram Gold Bars - 2 In stock $100 each on: August 25, 2017, 11:44:08 AM
Actually there is a lot of counterfeits coming out of China.
Fake gold bars with assay cards and sealed which are "almost" identical in looks even down to the holograms.
The weight is spot on but the physical thickness is not right while the other dimensions are spot-on.
They are gold plated fakes and a lot of people have got burned thinking they were buying genuine certified originals.

here are some images of fakes in the links for heads up:

7344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Siacoin – an interesting solution but what about AMZ on: August 25, 2017, 11:04:09 AM
I dont think its SIA's intention to compete with the likes
of Amazon rather it will provide a service to the likes of Amazon!

I dont know anything about AMZ but its looking likely that
there will be a newer player to overshadow AMZ, such is the
way recently of some Blockchain technologies.
7345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we underestimated Bitcoin? on: August 25, 2017, 10:14:28 AM
I think the time of underestimating Bitcoin is coming to an end.
and this is certainly the case with Blockchain technology in general.

More and more people are hearing about Bitcoin and Blockchain
more and more people are getting involved with Bitcoin and Blockchain
more and more countries are recognising Bitcoin and Blockchain to some degree
more and more companies are accepting bitcoin as a payment method
more and more banks [mostly in asia] are recognising blockchain technology.
and its more and more being reported in mainstream media
7346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More good news for litecoin on: August 25, 2017, 10:03:13 AM

Great news as usual, and proves the Development team are working
positively behind the scenes.

I like this line from the report "New LND Update Makes Litecoin More Appealing"
and I think we have seen a move in the right direction in the last few
days because of this.
7347  Economy / Services / Re: Logo Contest * 0.015btc * Escrow Confirmed * Deadline Dd/Mm 01-09-2017 on: August 23, 2017, 10:56:49 PM
Ok I have finally finished my design a little earlier
as I fear the competition may be ended prematurely.
I have stayed as much as possibly within the colour brief.

Please excuse the typo, I will correct this soon.

7348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More good news for litecoin on: August 23, 2017, 10:01:26 PM
I was just going to reply that Litecoin is enjoying a period of relative stability  Grin
and I just checked in on Bittrex and saw that it has just spiked at $66

whats happening I wonder?
7349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price point per BTC will it be too late for the average person on: August 23, 2017, 09:50:01 PM
I think a lot of new people to bitcoin are infatuated with owning 1 BTC
It can easily be bought in fractions, you can buy as little or as much as you can afford.

If you want to get into it just use whatever FIAT you can afford and dont worry about owning 1 BTC

Its never too late to own a Satoshi or two !!!
7350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceptance on: August 23, 2017, 09:11:18 PM
There are over 50 stores in my country India accepting bitcoins and here is another list where the stores that are popular have started accepting bitcoins: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-05-28/who-accepts-bitcoins-payment-list-companies-stores-shops

From air tickets to restaurants and then physical ATMs, bitcoins are recognized at a lot of places without being regulated. Japan has even more brands accepting the currency.

This is great! its good to have these listed on this thread
its proof for people to see that Bitcoin is slowly but surely
being accepted and there are some really big multi-national
brands in that list!
7351  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: August 23, 2017, 04:40:57 PM
I answered yes but that only extends to Family or close friends.

We have a culture here where people invite others to their wedding
so that their wedding is paid for and "profits" can be made from their guests.

So unless its family or a very close friend they can have some crappy FIAT
instead of my precious Crypto  Grin
7352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin (BTC) be killed by BCC soon? on: August 23, 2017, 03:57:49 PM
I honestly believe that the current trend in BCC is
just that a trend which has yet to be corrected....Downwards.
there is no way with the amount of FIAT etc invested
in BTC that BCC will replace it.

When BTC starts to regain momentum we will see a mass
exodus from BCC.
7353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceptance on: August 23, 2017, 03:42:42 PM
I wasnt aware that you could easily pay with Bitcoin in The Netherlands
and Germany in Europe. I thought I was really only being adopted mostly
in the U.S, Japan and China.

In these places in The Netherlands and Germany, Is it clearly advertised
or displayed that Bitcoin is accepted?
7354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What services you wanna see with Bitcoin ? on: August 23, 2017, 03:21:59 PM
This is a good thread!

I would love to see an E-BAY or AMAZON styled market place for
buying and selling new and used goods payable by Bitcoin and
other Crypto.

and possibly a rival to PAYPAL where if you dont have enough
bitcoin  in your wallet the balance can be taken from a FIAT
balance somewhere.
7355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SC coin keep dumping - :( on: August 23, 2017, 12:40:05 PM
the thing is that with so many new coins appears, this project is getting less and less attention. sia should be a decent project for the long term, I think it will have a decent future.

I agree, IMO the majority of 'investors' dont care about
The coin or the technology, wanting instead to ride the
Uptrend, make a profit and cash out to move onto the
Next 'investment'

Hopefully SIA will gain attention
7356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] DIMCOIN The Future Of Equity on the Blockchain (FULL) on: August 23, 2017, 12:31:43 PM
Does someone want to spare 2 mins and explain to me what exactly is going on with this ICO (thanks in advance).
I have a bunch of these tokens on depotwallet.com and am really not at all sure what I can (or will be able) to do with them.
Does anyone know anything about where they will become tradable (which platform) or when?
Thanks for any help!

There has not been a decision as to what exchanges dimcoin
Will be available on. Regarding the useages for dimcoin, did
You not research the token before you bought it?

If you go to the OP of this thread all will be revealed!
7357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin just an asset ? on: August 23, 2017, 11:45:02 AM
Bitcoin is multi-faceted,

it provides a means for people to store their "wealth" or
part of it where traditionally precious metals were used
and still are for this purpose.

I is also used as a trading item, either to other currencies
FIAT and Crypto and also to purchase and sell goods
online and in some countries in physical shops, markets,
Restaurants etc.

Bitcoin is also seen by some as a "get rich quick" tool  Grin

So yes it has many uses
7358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you had 1000$ to invest in Altcoins long term, which one would you choose? on: August 23, 2017, 09:43:58 AM
As a "Safe" investment I would suggest Litecoin, Ethereum and Monero!
I personally think all others are very volatile long term. While they might
very well be great investments but not long term.
7359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is best wallet for SC? on: August 23, 2017, 08:35:07 AM
I also use this wallet
http://sia.tech/apps/

Really, maybe i will try it too

Yes this is the best wallet to use, their own dedicated one.
Sia now has become a long term hold, so its best to get it
off an exchange if you have them currently there!
7360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: August 23, 2017, 08:26:43 AM
Nope I dont buy any more Bitcoin, I just dont earn enough money to
invest some in Bitcoin anymore because its value is so high.
$20 investment wouldnt get much and with fees etc. it really is too little.
