We are active working on new DarkNote client version 1.0.0, black style, will be presented with new website.

Does anyone know how many wallets are live, or how big the current userbase of DarkNote is? As I was told the anonymous aspect of DarkNote prevents a richlist, but it would be very useful information if we could know how many people are actually using/stacking XDN, and if this number has been rising steadily.
I can say that ~10.000 workers mined DarkNote last month on average. We expect 2000-3000 active miners and more that 10000 persons who have some XDN. That is an approximate value.

what is it? how often do you get this error and what is the reason? please, describe it step by step.

Hi everyone, really awesome project!
the only think that seems to be a bit troublesome is your emission-rate. 320.000 coins per block and a half life period of ~1 month. early adopters have a really huge advantage here. do you mind to explain your thinking behind it?
greetings criptix
I think the choice of this style of emission was to make a few possibly miffed individuals on bitcointalk happy that they had access to the emission from the genesis block, even if not all of them knew about it. Other than that, I think the speedy emission was to prevent the coins from ending up in botnets hands and subvert the entire process of botnets in general. Maybe dNote or someone else can explain it better? Personally I see this more like a PoS coin with a PoW distribution, only it's a PoS coin without staking. I don't think you can have a PoS system due to how CryptoNote is designed, so this is what we have. That's the best benign answer I could come up with for myself though, in order to get past economic details and observe the technical ones. I, for one, am extremely interested in this messaging system. I found the white paper a bit confusing, does anyone with a good grasp on how the messaging system works wish to explain how it works in a slightly easier to understand language than the whitepaper? In simple words: Messages are stored in transaction extra field, like PayLink (Payment ID), but encrypted. Sender encrypt his message with recipient private key (only recipient know his key), message is sent like any other DarkNote/CryptoNote transaction, so it is anonymous, untraceable and even the fact that message was send is unknown. Recipient "looks" at encrypted extra field and decrypt only his message. So DarkNote messages are: -anonymous -untraceable -"invisible" -Mixed with other messages -Transferred via p2p PoW ASIC resistant decentralized DarkNote network

Thank you for your question, it was discussed many times, but i should make new DarkNote economy explanation infographics

the best way i've found to catch someone from the bytecoin community is observing their moral stance. they tend to live in a opposite moral universe than most of us here. they use the same moral concepts than us, but their values are totally inverted if not perverted. for instance, they would attack and brand the most genuine and honest persons of this forum as dishonest / scammers or in their own coin threads, they would consider legitimate questions or arguments as trolling and thus would remove them
Two things fill the mind with ever-increasing wonder and awe, the more often and the more intensely the mind of thought is drawn to them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me. Immanuel Kant

Community should know and understand some facts: 1. DarkNote encrypted messages and transaction comments are untraceable, unlinkable and strongly encrypted. 2. DarkNote devs provided new cryptography approach based on CryptoNote technology, but made from scratch 3. DarkNote "encrypted comments" feature is a further more going feature, in a few words, think about it like it is an "untraceable anonymous encrypted channel of communication based on blockchain". DarkNote encrypted messages will be used as a base layer for making new awesome DarkNote GUI client features. 4. DarkNote devs are working on "low cost or free, temporary" encrypted comments, that are not stored in blockchain and "lives" just some time, like 24h. 5. DarkNote devs are working on all features, submitted in roadmap. 6. DarkNote devs are working on new 1.0.0 DarkNote client version, that is shown in http://darknote.cc/roadmap and soon you will see it. Thank you for you support, Much appreciate. P.S. XDN a stunning ace in the hole. a few. as always. you will be satisfied when you will know about it.

Some stats for September 2014 (33000 block - 44000 block):
Block 33000
Transactions - 88,898 Timestamp (UTC) - 2014-08-31 22:29:12
Block 44000
Transactions - 126,366 Timestamp (UTC) - 2014-10-01 16:20:31
Lets count:
(126366-88898) = 37468 transactions per month, or 3.4 tx per 1 block
~360 blocks are generated each day, so 3.4*360 = 1224 transactions per day.

What is the current size of blockchain to be downloaded? Just curious how XDN stacks with other CN coins.
~720mb -> 44000 block -> 126366 transactions

Just updated extremepool to the latest source, getting a lot of errors with payments. Transaction was rejected by daemon.
I am running the payment processor several times and it looks like they are slowly going out, but not sure why so many are rejected by daemon.
Daemon says tx used wrong inputs, rejected.
Thank you for your issue support, can you please describe your problem more accurately. Can you please describe, can you please describe if any transactions are ok with new daemon? Also, please check the average size of submitted transactions.

I'm not going to enter it, but I like the black square coinmarketcap is using for XDN right now. It looks like the black flag of anarchy, which fits in with the no-rulers-except-we-the-users philosophy of crypto. Extending it to a rectangle and adding two white 'Pillars of Hercules' to signify weight/hard asset would be good too. Maybe make the pillars into a stylized D as well: Please, post your pictures and suggestions in " DarkNote Logo Design and Style Contest. 320000 XDN bounty." http://darknotetalk.org/index.php?topic=16.0Thank you

GUI looks great... when is it coming out?
It is under active development, i hope you will see it in next 5-10 days. Cryptography tests are almost done and cryptography that is described in DarkNote whitepaper, will be public very soon.

Is this still all closed-source? not all at all We understand your confusion, but all software that we upload to open source source should be tested and verified multiple times, to avoid any issues. Currently we pushed "reinvented" DarkNote code to github (new updated DarkNoted daemon + Simplewallet): https://github.com/ducknote/darknote/commit/7c60affd32065eb0a8704e7a7f862a260869d5a9Please, be careful, commit is SO big, that your browser can stuck Just about now we are ending all cryptography implementation tests and will push all cryptography, described in whitepaper to github. I think it will be pushed in next 48 hours. Stay tuned.

It's not FUD. There's no fear, uncertainty, or doubt about it. More than half of all coins were mined when ducknote had a lower hashrate than any other Crytponote coin (except maybe quazar or fantomcoin which are dead/dying), even lower than the obvious scam bytecoin.
1. There is NO matter what hashrate was! The matter is the number of initial ordinary XDN workers and miners. You're the one who brought up how the hashrate was to the moon/sky: 2. To be fair and honest and to avoid any misunderstandings XDN announce was at the same second as first block was generated. Being true it was a BIG surprise to see hashrate going to the sky, just after launch. XDN had more than 40 000 000 difficulty in first hours after launch. Also first month we promoted XDN very active and asked people to mine it, we explained Economy and logic.
The hashrate didn't go to the sky and there wasn't a lot of miners, unless they were all mining at 1 h/s, which seems quite unlikely. I said what i said man. XDN is the only CN coin with mass users, miners and traders joining since the first blocks. 4 hours after an announce XDN had 250 000 H/s ! Good core i7 linux with CPU-miner multi gives ~ 230 h/s Average windows PC or laptop gives you ~ 50 h/s Let it be 140 h/s on average . So 250 000/ 150 = 1785 miners 4 hours after announce. But it is hard to argue with you, because you can't hear the voices on multiple people, who mined and traded XDN long before our dispute. EDIT: Even now We have more than 12% of mined coins on major exchanges on sell orders.

@dNote
In a new wallet version, could you please change the order in which the transactions are shown in History? It is much better if the latest transactions are at the top, instead of at the bottom of the list. Thanks.
Thank you, please post your request here http://darknotetalk.org
