You shoot with a gun to kill, not to hurt or disarm.
Sadly, this.  Would be great if guns could be used non-lethally, but that is just Hollywood.  Not even tasers are called "non-lethal" anymore; they are "less-lethal" because people can still die.

There is already prozac in the water . Its called flouride. So maybe yes there were  a few murders after someone drank the town water supply...

ROFL
743  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sheriff's investigators release initial findings on Obama eligibility on: April 14, 2012, 04:39:06 PM
That whole "layers" argument is ridiculous. You can make anything look like a composite image. In fact, this is common practice in making animations from stills.
A scanner is going to make a bunch of links, not layers. There is only one layer. I haven't heard of links, but that is what he called them in the video.  There are not enough links to back up the claim that this image is not an electronic forgery (or so the video claims).  Some of the links shown in the video have just a date in them while another has the entire security paper background.  THIS IS NOT HOW SCANNERS WORK; THIS IS HOW FORGERS WORK.

I don't understand why you are talking about animation.

Someone has to be able to independently verify this.  Does no one have Acrobat Pro Illustrator?!

cairo.perfect-privacy.com sure sounds legit lol
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What features should I add to the Strongcoin e-wallet ? on: April 13, 2012, 10:21:26 PM
Lower fees. I don't really see Strongcoin as competitive with Blockchain.info wallet right now, which is more actively developed and much cheaper to use. Strongcoin hasn't really reacted to the competition out there which is the main issue in my opinion.

What do you think? I've never registered to this site, but I got the mail.
I got the same email, and it had some where "to" fields to some AOL emails. I didn't really bother inspecting the headers, but they are probably faked.

I'm guessing that he will want me to buy the silver and pay him that instead. Cry  But I think this person will be open to it and will think it is cool.  Just a little too technical and won't have the time to learn the ropes.  We shall see...

<--- here

Also, people spend their BTC on Gold and Silver a lot.
Since the number of BTC is limited, most if not all BTC spent will find their way back to MtGox et al. for sale.
When I saw this, I thought you wanted me to ignore you lol

yeees, yeees... you I had in mind...
PLAN, WHY U NO WORK OUT?

no seriously... why would that be?
On my screen the arrow points to "ignore" which is just under the link I think you meant to point to
748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) on: April 13, 2012, 10:11:59 PM
Where can I see the version, btw?

I think Cydia will show you the currently installed version

Struggling with getting the SMTP function to work.  I'm using jangosmtp and using my gmail email address as the  "To" and "From".  Mother keeps telling me "... we do not relay <email@gmail.com>".  Anyone using a similar configuration or know whats going on?
My SMTP settings have been working

Do you have two factor authentication enabled on your gmail? If you do you need to create a one time pass phrase (I think that's the term). It's under your settings if you log into gmail.

If you don't have two factor, I dunno how to help Sad

But what of the earth WAS flat and then we "thought" it into being round. Lulz

Having a partisan bent doesn't make you a conspirator.  I'm just saying their "debunking" is not very objective if they don't post the original version of his purported birth certificate, and instead post this cropped version.  It looks like they either didn't do very thorough research, or they are hiding something.
Well lets do it ourselves. Someone has to have a copy of acrobat pro.

So when can we send bitcoins via bluetooth to someone elses watch ?
Would be awesome to show a qr code of your address on the watch. There's an SDK so I'm sure people will come up with all sorts of cool things

I can't remember the site I used to make my avatar.  I'll try and find it.

I'll miss your trolling. Giving the magazine a more professional face is going to be good for bitcoin though.

I have been wanting a watch that connects to my phone ever since I got my phone. Too cool

757  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BitPak - The Bitcoin Wallet for iOS on: April 12, 2012, 06:24:58 PM
The download of the chain took almost a week (ok i only have 4k internet here....) i transfered 3 bitcoin to it and they are not showing up, since a week....

Im curious why this is so damn slow ......

Left the phone open all night for almost three weeks now, with the app in foreground. I'll try it at home with my 16k internet today.

Waste of money and time imo (voll der Dreck) Sad There is just no usefull BTC wallet app for iOS. But if you want a nice Bitcoin app with active support, get BTCmon !

voll der dreck, indeed.

there's a acceptable solution, the blockchain.info client: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75673.0
it's still buggy on my iPod, but seems to work for most people. Good design and acceptable security.

you need jailbreak or korean iTunes account (one is provided in thread or on page, dont remember which)

You can also use the website directly on your phone.  I have the jailbroken app installed on my old phone and just browse to blockchain.info on my current phone.  It doesn't have as good of a theme, but seems to actually be a little faster and more stable (although the iphone app seems to be getting better and better every patch)

question is: can you scan a qr-code to send someone money on the go this way?

No, but there are plenty of free qr reader apps available that allow you to easily copy/paste scanned text.

It isn't quiet convenient, but you don't have to have a jail broken phone or add a Korean app store account to your phone.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf

So I guess there's a perfectly good reason why Snopes would have cropped the document posted on whitehouse.gov ?  They wouldn't have any motivation to hide the fact that the security paper background is obviously not original and exists as a separate layer?

Go ahead and compare them.  The evidence is right there, plain as day.

Do you even can read? Why don't you just read what does it say near the bottom. Duh, it's a copy that was certified by state.

They scanned it, printed it and signed it.

You haven't watched the video either have you...
759  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sheriff's investigators release initial findings on Obama eligibility on: April 11, 2012, 08:40:50 PM
Obama's birth certificate say he was born in Hawaii and, in the absence of proof he was born somewhere else, what's the point in examining the "evidence" or watching videos where 'The press conference was the "news of content."'

Unless there is positive evidence that he was born outside the US, there is no story here.
There is evidence he wasn't born in Hawaii, but you REFUSE to look at it.

Watch the damn video. It shows the certificate is an electronic forgery and NOT a scan like it should be. The video does not say he Muslim or born on Kenya or any of the other things that you have said to distract from the actual topic
760  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sheriff's investigators release initial findings on Obama eligibility on: April 11, 2012, 06:06:43 PM
...snip...
Have you watched the video? Until you do, I'm not responding to you or your stubbornness.

No and I won't.  Life is too short to waste on content free videos.  If he found something, he would have it in writing and Obama would be gone.
I'm disappointed that is your outlook... You CAN'T know it is content free without watching it. But whatever, be willfully ignorant of the evidence. I'm moving on now.

Actually you can.  If a press conference took place over a week ago and there is no news of content, it means that no content has been found.

The alternative is to watch videos of every press conference that failed to get reported because it lacked content in the hope that a dreadful mistake has been made and this time there was something worth wasting an hour of your life.

There are not enough hours in the day for that...
Except I watched this one and am saying that there IS content that deserves more investigation. I asked if anyone opened the file in acrobat and then you come in and say its all conspiracy bullshit.

The media only covers stuff that matters? That's why there's so much crap on about celebrities. There's no content there and that shit is prime time
