Then just think of it as a prediction of the just invented telephone, plane or Internet. Is this chart still serious to you or downward stupid

Keep your mind focused.

From my perspective, the lingering question is not the virus, but whether this causes non repairable shit in the legacy financial system. Something has been burning since September already when the repo market got sick. This had nothing to do with the virus.

So I am keeping an eye out for more sorrow (and related scare dumps) before I declare all this over.

Whether Bitcoin would dump as well in a renewed scare dump downwards: we will have to wait and see.

So what you're telling us - is that humanity cannot build millions of ventilators in a blink - if they needed/wanted to.
Yeah, I read the overwhelmed manufacturers part. No.

Define 'blink'

I don’t think this will be the Big One but the damage seems to be to such degree that more must be done than deemed reasonable to keep this from going off the tracks. This time it’s not about saving banks and a few selected crony companies, but also about keeping main street up and running.

There are discussing a $1,000 helicopter drop to each American right now  Shocked

Throw in a few other emergency government plans and - on top of the Fed’s letter spaghetti facilities - we are talking about up to $3 trillion annual budget deficits the next few years. The world has no alternative yet but the fuse will be lit.

First, the flight to the USD but thereafter, possibly the decline of the USD.

Watch closely what they do, not what they say.

Edit: anyone selling Bitcoin now will regret that heavily.
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: March 18, 2020, 02:51:32 PM
I agree that the time frame may have shifted considerably. But I doubt 4-6 yrs is the play book because of deflation. If we have 4-6 years of deflation, Bitcoin will be the least of our worries. If the money printing trick cannot get this show on the road again into something resembling a ‘recovery’ or at least a muddle through scenario, we are f* big time.

With our current ‘elastic’ money system, I don’t see a long and prolonged deflation in the cards. Stock markets tanking is one thing, seeing while industries collapse over the years because not interfering with money printing is another.

Yes, there will be pain. No, there will be no long cleansing deflation undoing all the damage caused by blowing debt bubbles.

They will try more of the same. And then some more. And more.

These measures will not be taken 4-6 years form now. It will be sooner. And they can be expected to blow wind in Bitcoin’s sails. $10k isn’t that far away if this train starts to move again.

I’m not betting but take the cautious approach that the next 2 years won’t being anything. Not because of Bitcoin but because of the bear market in financial markets at a time that everything behind it is also rickety as hell.

It can only get better from that point of view.

Its just a chart, not his 100% solid belief (nor the absolutely certain future).

You, Sir, need to close that lid, step out and enjoy the sun for a while  Grin

The longer view.

We should not shy away from this but plan accordingly (not this exact scenario but the chance that Bitcoin will slumber for a while).

These events ram the price of Bitcoin, but not it’s utility.
