Wow, but they are not special, except me Smiley Did you see the username like me ? i see only Ba™aN.

It is risky in some cases, I saw people reported / getting negative trust for being imposters. For example : theymos - theym0s.
Well, using special characters is easier to distinguish but i do not recommend it.
For the A-Z... I think people tend to register usernames and keep it just like registering domain with three or four letters in order to sell it later. I remember people even registering famous companies names or presidents names  Undecided
742  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 28, 2018, 02:13:02 AM
Merits is a new system implemented by bitcointalk forums. The effect of this merit occurs on the rank jr member to member. A person who occupies the rank jr member must have ten merit to go up to the next rank that is member.

The effect of merit system concerns every rank.

BTW, bot-like answers detected even in his previous posts.
Why are you reformulating sentences in most of your topics?
743  Economy / Speculation / Re: After " Destroying Bitcoin " prices went up on: April 27, 2018, 04:43:10 PM
The bad news that always make people to dump Bitcoin are banning crypto currencies activities and regulations agency trying to regulate it. Since inception that is what has be affecting pricing negatively.
Well, not in most of the cases. Small countries (in terms of cryptocurrencies adoption) decision to ban Bitcoin or any altcoins haven't any impact on the prices. Same goes for rumours. It is a little bit complicated and in most of cases it has many factors involved at the same time.
744  Economy / Reputation / Re: Check Lauda's untrusted feedback, before you trust her. on: April 26, 2018, 12:55:46 PM
Better to move the topic to the reputation sub imo. Trusts aren't moderated, (s)he is free to give you a review or not and if you didn't receive any pm back from a person better to not spam his inbox.
Do not consider this as a support for lauda since (s)he has her/his reasons. Prefer to stay in Switzerland mode on.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: After " Destroying Bitcoin " prices went up on: April 26, 2018, 01:22:56 AM
Have you seen that MIT technology review explaining 3 ways to destroy Bitcoin ? It is from a month ago.

Well I won't discuss that, but briefly, imo they have too much imagination, for real, it's all biased.

So basically, even with this news the prices went up from about 7k at the time to the prices that are now. I learned that Bitcoin prices usually fluctuate due to bad news, but I started to follow prices only this year. What kind of news would make the prices decrease ? Anyone remembers one ?

Most of us have the impression that the Bitcoin price drops after bad news but this isn't accurate most of the time. If I am not wrong I remember lately that the Chinese exchanges' ban made the price drops (i have a shitty memory btw), while when the US auctioned +3k BTC, the price wasn't affected.
Same thing goes for good news.
746  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-24] Bitcoin Price Finally Hits $9,000 on: April 25, 2018, 03:55:37 PM
I personally consider the $20,000 peak to be nonexistent because of how empty that increase was. In other words, we shouldn't want last year's performance to replicate.

Well, personally the ATH was good and bad for cryptocurrencies in general and Bitcoin particularly. We are having now more people discovering and joining Bitcoin comparing to previous years. In the other hand, some companies postponed the use of bitcoin due to the hype..

In that regard, I hope we'll be seeing the market increase gradually, where the main push hopefully comes from LN or other actually bullish developments later on.

Same, it would be better and more stable.

People shouldn't let the media and all other nonsense trolls make them believe that Bitcoin is doing bad because it's far away from that stupid $20,000 level. Instead, focus on that what actually indicates growth, the bottoms.
Media has 2 faces so better to keep a look on it from times to times.
I like the way you analyse situations 1Referee
747  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-24] Bitcoin Price Finally Hits $9,000 on: April 25, 2018, 01:34:18 AM
Now that's what I am talking about
Code:
Now we are waiting for Bitcoin's next all-time high

Will it happens soon? I estimate that in the next 24 hours, we will probably see the 5 digits again. The only thing I am concerned about is stability, the price should sustain in +$10k.
748  Other / Meta / Re: Should BTT start to use kyc for fighting against multi-accounts shit posts? on: April 25, 2018, 01:22:30 AM
its my only account btw yes i was talking about evil ip but every my friends got that "evil ip" thing from all their home wifi 4 friend 4 of them is new at here they had never used crypto before i told them but registering here start with that "evil ip" is it coinsidance ? i dont thing so

You and/or your alt(s) and/or your neighbours and/or their alt-accounts were banned before?
Your "friends" have to pay a 1 time fee (your range ip was banned before mostly), so don't worry about that.
And since the hell will not freezes soon and your answer was answered, lock that topic (bottom of the page, left corner, lock topic).
749  Other / Meta / Re: [April fools] New new rank requirements on: April 25, 2018, 01:07:41 AM
I have so many merits , I do not compute Smiley

Indeed son, you are now sharing it with other members...
The merit system is very difficult. You have to do a lot to get Merit. But sometimes you can not get the money back
I've read a lot of shitposts in my time, and this has got to be one of the most idiotic I've come across.

ugur2222 is trying to win the "most idiotic" championship in shitPMs too, not just shitposts:

Stop spamming and spend time in reading rather than shit-posting.
750  Other / Meta / Re: A useful user statistic to show - Magic Dust or Emep? on: April 24, 2018, 12:47:04 AM
Go to your profile information page. Turn on post count.

Now you have merit and the number of posts. Divide.
What's the point of adding this in? It's not a good quantifier of post quality. Though unfortunate, a user may not receive as much merit as they deserve. Or they may receive more merit than they deserve (e.g. peloso meriting me)

Dividing all posts / merit could be useful for new users that joined after merit implementation, however the OP means from what i understood
Quote
Maybe by "Eligible post" I meant "Activity since the Merit System" rather than "Actual posts since the Merit System"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg35430725#msg35430725

Kind of neutral this time to the propositions, however, i still recommend a like button..
751  Other / Meta / Re: A useful user statistic to show - Magic Dust or Emep? on: April 24, 2018, 12:35:56 AM
If I could get heard by the mighty Theymos, I would very much like to ask if we could get more statistics. We need something like "Imagination", "Magic Dust" or "Emep", which might stand for "Earned Merit per Eligible Post (ratio)".

The first has been implemented, but we saw it didn't work out. Could we have the other two? Or just the last, maybe? It actually could give us a useful view of someone's history here.

Or some other number/bucket system like that, perhaps. I'm sure several tweaks could be twoken to fuzzy it up a bit if deemed appropriate.

A little bit confused about the relation between these three. Imagination was used in April 1, and I don't think enabling it will be that useful.
For Emep, how could you tell if a post deserves to be merited or not? If there is a like button and crossing likes vs merit then it might be possible, otherwise, I don't see how.

752  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 16-Apr-2018] on: April 24, 2018, 12:17:43 AM
Isn't IOS also closed for new participants?

Yes, it is with a exception similar to ChipMixer. The table isn't updated in real time and any help from anyone is welcome  Smiley
Please note that CFNP means the campaign is currently closed for new participants. If you believe you have extremely high quality posts or are a very trusted member in the community, please PM me and I will see if I can find a slot for you.

I believe moving it to CFNP like ChipMixer is justified.
753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Swinging around 8k and countinnngg.... on: April 23, 2018, 07:18:56 PM
At least until the end of the month I don't expect some biger price movements. To my opinion the price will continue to move somwhere between 8000$ and 9000$.

Same, i don't expect so much, starting May with $9000 and consolidating over it for a while is required.

At first this last rise looked like it might continue but actualy we all know how Bitcoin easily changes and now it's the period when we should be ready for every kind of scenario. Still hope to see Bitcoin crossing 10000$ in May.
At the end of May, we may expect to see that price but what is essential in my opinion is the consolidation part. Having a solid $9000 ground is way better than volatile <12 hours +$10k.

755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Loan Need advice on: April 22, 2018, 06:46:59 PM
Hello to all,

New here was looking for some advice how to go about getting a btc loan? I looked over several sites, but not sure how to go about it. Not looking for a huge amount, and could pay back. Just looking for advice or help? Thank you

Hi!
Try looking here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0.
I'm not sure what is the best service for getting loans as I've never needed it, but perhaps doing a small research and posting in this very thread could help you.

And do not try to ask in bitcointalk for a loan without collateral, you will simply get a negative trust.
Read the sticky topics and this before posting https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0
Also think about locking this topic if you find what you are looking for
756  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: April 22, 2018, 06:39:15 PM
Allowing newbies to put a picture in their profile would be nice

Maybe it will become a possibility with a special rank higher than copper member.
Don't know if theymos planning to introduce it soon or no but a silver member with special features for every rank might be interesting (ie. avatar for newbie + jr + members, less waiting time than copper...)
757  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 22, 2018, 06:32:41 PM
Weekly update is here guys. sMerit still decreasing Sad almost 50% less in 6 weeks  Cry

I think it is expected that we will experience a shortage of liquidity in the transition from communism to capitalism especially that unknown smerits got out of circulation in dormant accounts. Wait until the number of sources increases further.
758  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-22]Is Cryptocurrency Mining Still Profitable In 2018? on: April 22, 2018, 01:01:03 PM
Simple and easy to understand article. They could insist more about the scammy cloudmining and cite examples of how they manipulate the ROI of its users by increasing maintenance fees.
Increased difficulty, high electricity bills and expensive equipments are pushing away Bitcoiners from mining. For other cryptocurrencies, it depends and the price has an impact also.
Personally, I would give it a try now but my pocket wouldn't be happy with the electricity bill.
759  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: April 21, 2018, 11:40:53 PM
Newbie can now turn to Junior member in 30 days
merit 0 ?

I think it took me 15 days to do it. 1 Day for the first 28 points, and one activity period to top it up.

I'll need to check that, but you can work it out from my join date.

First period is the only exception. Joining in Tuesday before few hours from biweekly activity update will let you somehow skip almost 14 days of waiting time. You will feel like the luckiest person in bitcointalk, i witnessed that feeling with someone I know that was perplexed after that for a moment (why it took him so much to rank up later) haha, good old days.

So yep 30 (28 exactly) days isn't accurate.
760  Other / Meta / Re: Giving 50 merits was legit or ALT? Need your thoughts on: April 21, 2018, 01:04:27 AM
Every +10 smerit (or every +3 smerit that allows a newbie to become a junior member) needs to be investigated imo.
Manipulation, cheating, trading of smerit exist unfortunately but it should decreases at some point. I prefer neutral trust since theymos doesn't really agree with the negative one, however, imo every schizophrenic person using several alts to merit his accounts should be negged.

Who should do the investigation? you don't need any merits to become a Jr member.

Alt-accounts busters (AAB) and anti-cheat squad (ACS) Wink

Yes, but jr needs 10 to have a bigger signature & more signature rewards which is legitimate but without cheating the merit system.
(ok, i made a typo mistake when writing the previous post and I wasn't aware of it until this point lol, thanks, will be corrected)
