Jesus, I used to be able to follow this thread, now there is no chance. I leave for a few hours last night and 40 more pages appear o.0
742  Economy / Speculation / Re: First signs of exhaustion of current trend on: April 10, 2013, 04:00:53 PM
Look at blockchained.com.  Almost $4m has left the order book in the past couple days.  If that isn't a sign EAs are beginning to cash out, I don't know what is.  When we look back a couple years from now, this will probably be the turning point to at the beginning of a very long and painful correction.

It didn't "leave the order book" it was used to buy coins.

Apparently because the flow of cash into gox was smaller on Wednesday than it was on Tuesday, thats enough to cause a panic.
743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 03:56:14 PM
Well its been over a week since the last time the lag caused a panic, time to cash in on the noobs again apparently.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 01:52:23 PM
Meanwhile in China...

1950 Chinese Yuan equals
314.82 US Dollar
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 01:47:42 PM
And suddenly this thread turned silent Grin

I would welcome it staying horizontal for awhile - dont think the chances of that are so good however.
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Convergex group suggesting diversification into Bitcoin on: April 10, 2013, 01:23:13 PM
Just want to reiterate the point of my post - its clear this guy is well spoken & understands bitcoin, but thats not the point. The point is he is the guy speaking into the ears of the decision makers of a large financial services company on wall street. This is enormously bullish.
747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 01:20:05 PM
0.02 bot is ridiculous

SOOOOOOO ridiculous... if this bot, or one of these bots it yours... you are screwing it up for everyone else.

Just ignore it, it's irrelevant.

The lag that they cause isnt.

Yes, thats exactly the point actually. They are manipulating others' input so they can make more on the spread themselves.
748  Economy / Speculation / Convergex group suggesting diversification into Bitcoin on: April 10, 2013, 01:01:03 PM
The "Chief Market Strategist" at Convergex, Nick Colas has now recommended Bitcoin twice on Bloomberg.
http://www.bloomberg.com/video/bitcoin-is-gold-for-nerds-convergex-s-colas-says-zumT6iCSQBuJJPB3Nhonrw.html

I decided to look up who Convergex is and it seems:

"Formed in 2006, the firm is headquartered in New York with nearly 600 employees"

I don't see any info on financials, but simple calculations tell me that if he is pushing this to their clients... this is a bigger deal than the Hedge Fund Max is touting.

SOOOOOOO ridiculous... if this bot, or one of these bots it yours... you are screwing it up for everyone else.

Thats the point of it unfortunately.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: London Hedge Funds moving into Bitcoin on: April 10, 2013, 12:15:23 PM
"The fund currently manages a portfolio of 81,000 BTC"
https://exante.eu/press/news/266/

Far cry from 1B - but not too shabby in any case.
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Liquidity will disappear from secodary markets in 6, 5, 4, ... on: April 10, 2013, 11:35:25 AM
if gox ever goes down the volume and depth will go to other exchanges.

OP...ok?

Problem is, most other exchanges (that I know of) are either really difficult and/or expensive to get fiat in/out of (especially for someone not in the USA) or have really shitty prices.

If I could get non-USD into btc-e I'd be buying there in a heartbeat.

bitstamp or https://bitcoin-24.com/ are far superior to mtgox on many levels. forget btc-e its built by trolls, for trolls.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: London Hedge Funds moving into Bitcoin on: April 10, 2013, 11:33:36 AM

ugh.... hedge funds managers are not that stupid. And if you believe crap from Max Keiser, you're an idiot

Thank you. Even if they do go in with 1B (??), they will be using dark liquidity. They would/could not do this on the open market.

Dark pools would allow large holders to cash out without crashing the market, and allow themselves to enter a position without driving the market to absurd heights. You would not even know it happened.

Hedge funds are not complete idiots. Do any of you really think they would place open market orders from $250 to $2500? Hmmmm....I think I'll buy 2M shares of AAPL with a stop limit order at $430, limit at $4300. What's BAC trading these days? $12.50? Buy all you can to $125. They are bound to grow.....

If they havent already established their position, they will have significant issues getting those kinds of funds available for a dark pool, which will lead to massive price movements (due to scarcity) on the exchange in any case.

As I don't believe they have established 1B in bitcoins already, this should be significant enough with dark pool trading to take us well above 500 and probably closer to 1000.

That's Bitstamp, what does it have to do with your OP?

755  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 10:34:01 AM

756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser and the Rise of Bitcoin Demagogues on: April 10, 2013, 10:29:49 AM
I've been watching Keiser for years. .. checkout some of his earlier stuff:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1ga23DIAo8

^ Around 2:22 for Max... but watch the bit before because it shows you the contrasting views between the sheep traders and Master Keiser.

haha wow, same crazy talking shit wearing a bowtie guy 25 years ago.
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Liquidity will disappear from secodary markets in 6, 5, 4, ... on: April 10, 2013, 10:17:12 AM
This just pushes people away from Mtgox faster and shouldnt affect the market really at all. Great thing, in my book.
758  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seems legit on: April 10, 2013, 10:15:10 AM
Shit, I signed up. Why not?
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 10, 2013, 10:09:24 AM
So, I will ask again, $300 today, or we chill in the $250-270 range?

Very good chance of 300, yes.
760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: April 10, 2013, 10:08:32 AM
