What tablet application/website was ROOM77 using to accept customer payments in the Guardian video?
We are using an android tablett with a Bitcoin Wallet (from Andreas Schildbach) installed. Alternatively, people can scan an address from a printed qr-code, call up an address from btc.to in a webbrowser or - pretty cool - just put their nfc-enabled device on our actual physical wallet (the one made of leather containing paper- and metall-tokens) and and the wallet on the device opens and has our payment address already read in via the rfid-sticker-magic developed by sodoku. Other places use other stuff, depending on their likes and existing infrastructure if they don't want to spend the money on a tablett. But in all cases the payment process nowadays is just faster than any other digital payment and about as fast as receiving cash in many cases. Joe Thanks for this. I'm first going to try this out with mainly technical high-street businesses as they'll be most receptive and can provide feedback on what suits them best.

Ok, I've just bought 100 of the stickers and I'm going to start giving these out to some targeted tech firms in the UK shortly: https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/29025-100-bitcoin-sticker-9-8-x-9-8-cmWhat I'm still unclear on is methods shops and bars can easily draw up a bill for their customers to pay. Does anyone have a list of apps/websites suitable to do this on tablets and smartphones?

Thanks! I've just signed up and bought 100 stickers to give out. What tablet application/website was ROOM77 using to accept customer payments in the Guardian video? I'm trying to write up an info sheet of methods to take customer payemtn so a list of different methods of how to do this would be useful: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188918.0

Does anyone know where I can get the window stickers for "Bitcoin taken here"? See below: I'm trying to create packs for retailers all round the world and want to do a push to all the small shops in Brighton, UK: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188918.0

Ok,
bter.com report the following:
"FRC user please note: Due to FRC's "demurrage" and as instructed by the Official Freicoin Website, we will charge 0.017% (including our maintaining fee of 0.001%) every day from your FRC balance as well as the locked in funds for pending orders. Please also note we charge 0.2% on FRC withdrawals."
Is this the correct level of demurrage?
dgex.com:
"no demurrage on FRC!"
Any ideas why this is - are they just covering the cost?

Cryptonit directly uses the bitcoin "move" RPC function to manage his user accounts.
What does this mean for you?
mugen isn't keeping any accounting records of what his customers are doing. So if one of his exchanges has a bug, like his Freicoin exchange did, he cannot determine what amounts all of his accounts should have. Mugen's exchange had a bug where he lost customer funds when the site was in beta. Actually, this is the same bug his site had to shut down for recently. He was advised to implement his exchange using external accounting & logs.
Had mugen built his exchange so that it kept accounting records and logs he wouldn't have had any problems trading Freicoin and other coins. Unfortunately, even if someone wanted to make all of his depositors whole they couldn't do it because he doesn't keep the records necessary to pay people back.
I strongly recommend you stay very far away from cryptonit for ANY coin.
Thanks for this. The logs were sort-of stored in the on system emails - but I had to delete them to get technical support :/. So now there is no record of my original balance. Luckily I started logging it after a week or two. I may have lost about 2,000 - 3,000 FRC. (About 2BTC) Are there any other exchanges that support FRC? Or is it local wallets only?

cryptonit.net is having issues with Freicoin (FRC) but it is not clear from the administrator if this is peculiar to that exchange or if this is a global issues with FRC.
Can someone point me at some information on this or fill me in?
If it is a local exchange issue I may just move my coins elsewhere.

By almost all of them, even if developments have no idea about it. Thanks! Even litecoin?

Which alternate cryptocurrencies support 2-of-3 transactions?
Which have plans to add this feature?

I seriously doubt this petition will do anything to move Google's hand.
I don't know... Just watched Mike Hearn, a Software Engineer at Google, talking about the long-term, potential evolutionary dynamics of Bitcoin use at Bitcoin 2012 like it's a fait de compli going forward. I'm too stupid to understand some of it but there is some pretty cool ideas being bandied about. I understand that functional Bitcoin integration into web browsers themselves has already begun at an R & D level also, not sure if that's accurate or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD4L7xDNCmA+1 That was a really good video thanks. Not being a programmer some of the deeper (stub?) code is totally of my radar so its fascinating ad very reassuring to see that Satoshi had a lot of this planned out. I do worry though without a single very good architect at the helm dictating development steerage that the design can become bloated and loose its direction. Design minimalism is an absolute here, especially with a protocol as security reliant as Bitcoin. Having found out about these features has made me even more confident in the Bitcoin system which I didn't think would be possible. This has hardly begun!

This approach seems completely counter to Bitcoin's decentralised nature. I'd be very suspicious of any organisation claiming to represent bitcoins, especially with the word 'central' in its title.

I want to create is a welcome pack for shop owners explaining how to use bitcoin, the tax and finance implications for their respective territory/country and some stickers they can put up in their shop windows advertising that they take cryptocurrency.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this so I wanted to ask if there are any existing information templates and if anyone has produced shop window stickers or where can I get them?
I'm also not hugely familiar with the mobile app scene for bitcoin so advice here would be welcomed.
If we created a generic pack that anyone can download, people could use this to promote Bitcoin and Litecoin to retailers in their local areas the world over.
Initial thoughts of what a pack should contain are:
• Information leaflet for retailers on: - The technical and financial benefits of bitcoin. - Some popular ways to transact with bitcoin in a retail environment with example walkthroughs. - How to be tax and legally compliant in their territory. • Window / counter stickers. • Small fliers for retailers to give out to their customers as information.
This is just an idea at this stage but wanted to throw it out there for wider opinion.

If you are talking about the BFL Single that does 25gh/s, it's not even confirmed they will ship let alone making plans to buy. PPcoin can be mined with power or without. Yep, you don't need any mining power to mine PPcoins so long as you actually have some amount and let them age more than 31-32 days.
I.e. I just can buy PPCoins at the exchange and just ... hold them. Right? Should I be online all that time? As I understand from PPCoin FAQ I will get 1% reward per year. It's not so much... I think with any cryptocurrency you are mining you have to look at it from two perspectives: 1. Are you mining it to make a quick buck because you think PPC has an edge over other cryptocurrencies or; 2. Are you mining it because you agree with it's ethos and want to work with it and help it achieve wider adoption? Both will provide you 'value' but what are your personal needs and objectives? Personally I want to try out a number of different economic models and PPC is sufficiently differentiated that I've invested some of my time and money into it. Either way the exercise will have been of value to me.

No harm done, the link I posted actually points to the announcement of the Bitcoin Kiez. Generally we have an Press board for Articles: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=77.0Put stuff like this there, but don't forget to add a correct formated Date, or you will feel the wrath of kiba. Cool, noted, I use exactly the same date system with most of my filing systems.

TBH, I can get lost in the forums. Apologies if this is a repeat post but thought the video was very interesting. There is a group of us here in the UK, Brighton. We mainly pay IOU's amongst ourselves in BTC/LTC and I'm keen to try start our own community here too. One of us is currently over in Berlin atm; I'm going to see if I can get him to pop by and see this...
