Does anyone have the front and back scans of a series 2 casascius 1BTC coin dated 2011? I could make a set of images up but would prefer to use a back with actual public key that's correct for that coin type.

No_2, Can you post some pictures? The pictures on ebay and idiegogo look like prototypes.
I've posted sets of images and info on all physical cryptocurrency here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397258.0Please feel free to post comments.

Sure, the NFC tag will have the full public address and a confirmation code (10 alpha-numeric characters). The full public address will be useful on its own because, as we currently see, FirstBits is non-operable on blockchain.info (unless they fixed that recently).
The confirmation code will be generated by hashing the public address and performing some trade secret set of other data destructive algorithms to come up with the 10 character code. Nothing fancy, just increasing entropy. So my app will ping my server with the full public address and the confirmation code and the server will perform the transformations and verify that the code provided is the same as the code generated. Once verified it will ping other services like blockchain.info and bitcoinaverages so you get a nice "one sheet" of validity and value for the coin.
The security is mostly about verifying the coin is not a counterfeit but I put in a few more helpful functions.
So each time a coin generates a code is it the same or different?

no_2 (Jonathan), I'm so glad you received the coin! I was seriously worried as it turns out "money" is not allowed to be sent through international mail. I had a kind of neat "certification" doc I had slipped into the envelope... but the shrewd post office clerk had me completely change my plans. He explained that if there's any reference to it being a coin or currency of any kind, it would be turned away by customs and I likely wouldn't get it returned. *But* if it was a token... So out went your certification or any communication about the project, and in went a reference to a "souvenir token", which apparently was good enough for customs officials. I imagine when they opened the package, we got lucky and they saw the side with the bitcoin logo first! If you're wondering why the package was so bare... that's the story behind it Would love it if you can take a picture of the coin or you/with coin to post here or send to me. Would be awesome to see it in your hands! Warmest, Bitcoincito I have shared the videos of me opening the parcel here for when you make the Hollywood blockbuster : http://madmacs.datashell.co.uk/item/d1b44eba28b244bd84626deee3e05511Can I also check did you pay the metal worker in Peru in BTC?

Thanks for this it looks very interesting. Can you tell me more about how the Embedded NFC tag security will work? What data does it provide?

Just received my coin and as a collector of unusual currencies and coins I can say I'm very pleased with it; beautifully made and crafted. The maker was very skilled.
Am I right in reading your blog that you paid the metal worker in Peru in Bitcoin too?

Mikes back! http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2014/01/casascius-back [EDIT] ... Now, it’s up the customer to fund the physical coins themselves, and things could get confusing. In addition to selling unfunded coins through the mail, Caldwell will still sell pre-funded coins when he meets with buyers in person.
He says that to make things clearer, he’s going to make a new series of coins for his unfunded coin business, so buyers can tell the difference...
But things are not the same .

...we did NOT sell 10,000 1 BTC coins in 2013. I haven't added them up yet, but we'll be publishing the final mintage on our site.
Tim, to clarify: does that mean there are and will always be less than 10,000 coins dated 2013 in circulation or that 10,000 were minted and will eventually all be sold but they were not all sold within the window of 2013?

The hardware wallet looks very interesting; I think a good hardware wallet will really help Bitcoin become mainstream as a form of cash.

I would like to know more about Reggie's Zero Trust Digital Contracts.
Me too. We've been doing a lot of research on this at MetaLair and it's not as simple as looks.

Sorry for the sparse information. That was done intentionally, as I wanted to keep the information mostly limited and use this forum for discussion and more info. You can find answer to most of your questions at the following thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=400224.0Arash, I've updated your section in the main listing. If possible can I check: 1. The date of the original (un-issued) coins is correct? 2. Can you give some info on how they were planned to work? 3. Can I get quantity info for the new coins.

Great. That's enough to make the list.
Can you give me a detailed breakdown of each edition you've minted with numbers for each and rough dates if you have them. Even better links to photos of each different edition if possible.
I'm planning to put some photos up for people to see the different types of physical crypto out there.
The only coin I've fully designed so far is the DIY quarter bitcoin which are labeled 2014 and went on sale December 17, 2013. The previous editions were aluminum casascius coins that I loaded. Thanks for the info. Got some images here: May move these into this thread too if that's ok when I get a mo.

Mike: what is the gold coloured one in the above photo? I have some of them that are colored (anodized) - gold, green, blue, purple, and red. I only got a few bags of each color (though I got quite a few extras of the gold) They cost a bit more to color though. It's about 18 cents more a coin. I got them in the hopes I could laser engrave on the back of them (the bare coins just reflect the laser off and it does nothing). For those who the extra cost is worth it, they're available. Mike: I've sent you an email about this - can I check you've got it as I want to append some of these to my order before you ship if that's ok. Mike: am I correct in thinking 80,000 of these aluminium coins were minted? If so how many where silver and how many of those blue, purple, gold, green and red?
