741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN-ICO][LITHIUM][XLTH] ICO LIVE - 100% NEW CODE - EXCHANGE DIVIDENDS - DAO on: January 07, 2017, 01:30:31 AM
Yes, it does indeed look like a charade... the giveaway coins, the handbook, the website...  Angry These were all used to make his project look legit and get BTC out of investors.

I can't help but comment like this because the Dev used to be so active, replying to comments right away - regardless of what time it is. If s/he was asleep when I last posted yesterday, then he's been sleeping for about 18 hours now. Let's say that he's working hard, as you would like to assume, it would be odd not to check on the forum and see if anything's bothering his lithium community, right?

And free distribution has stopped. That should mean something, don't you think? And what'll happen to the lithium coins? They're still worthless Sad

742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN-ICO][LITHIUM][XLTH] ICO LIVE - 100% NEW CODE - EXCHANGE DIVIDENDS - DAO on: January 06, 2017, 09:36:29 AM
dev is silent. he has control over all bitcoins. the problem with new altcoin projects that don't get escrowed is that the dev could just abandon the project anytime and on this case, when someone else claims to own this project...

what's more unfortunate is that for those who participated in the ICO, purchased xlth with their xbt, their bitcoins have been released to the dev and they are left with lithium that doesnt have any value yet because xlth has not even reached a single exchange. it'll just sit in the wallet unless someone else takes over from when it was abandoned (if that is even possible). what's the use of having all these xlth if we can't exchange them for xbt at a legit exchange?

Dev is probably sleeping -- it's 3am.

Ah, yes. Will have to wait then. Have to calm myself after reading Craig's message. When dev provides good and legit answers then maybe all traces of panic in me will dissipate
Have you bought already? Cheesy

My friends did because of my encouragement. So blame will fall on me if this turns out bad  Cry Cry Cry

I just looked everywhere and I don't see an option to add an avatar anywhere. Not in account related settings, not in forum profile information, not in look and layout preferences.
How am I missing it.

Maybe when we get upgraded to Full Member?

Hello everyone my name is Craig,

I and my partner Robert were gearing up to release a new unique type of cryptocurrency called JETZ which we both collaborated on for almost the whole year of 2016 & decided to have an Initial-Coin-Offering in December last year for it, unfortunately for us there was only 1 Investor that sent funds through as we were pending the Release of the source code and Windows Qt wallets for a Xmas day release of goodies.

The user Triswardhani contacted us regarding his initial investment, he wanted to talk with us on Skype so we did with him, he then quizzed us on his reward even though he invested so little and wouldn't receive many coins then started asking about our source code and if we were going to release it publicly, we replied with how our thread stated Yes an Xmas day release with source code and a Windows Qt wallet, he then asked us in the conference if we could send him the source code for his own viewing since he was an initial investor, we thought there was no harm in giving the user a look since he was an Initial Investor into our project before anyone else and seemed trustworthy enough with his questions and understanding of cryptocurrencies, after he was done with receiving the file through transfer he just logged off, no goodbye, thank you, interesting concept or anything just gone, vanished Undecided

We sent numerous messages to him asking what happened, did he lose connection to his ISP provider, etc, etc and no reply, this went on for around a week or so before I seen a new coins thread on here while doing some general research since we don't use this forum much if at all and discovered this thread with very similar announcement headers & information to our coin project minus a few things that have been changed in the reward structure, emissions & block times, then I noticed the username Lips sealed

He also used a very similar username on Skype to here, he named himself Trisward.

I contacted Robert and sent him the links regarding my findings and he was gobsmacked, the hard work we were doing for almost 4 Seasons of the Year gone, poof, disintegrated, like a black hole with no return all because some asshole thought it would be pretty convenient and niffty to rip somebody else's code and then claim it as their own Angry

There is no team behind this as far as we are aware with our contact unless it was a rouge group member of many using a pseudonym alias.

We've also read that the source code hasn't been released yet, that is probably because of us and him having to correct everything to claim it as his or her own (Very messy he said it is) probably because he has to individually edit the segments with our TM/Names, etc in it, we think this is also why he or they are not releasing the source code.

This is a downright dirty and disgraceful thing to do to another coder in terms of ethics after we worked hard and long on the project while giving up our own personal time to create something new.

You are a very inconsiderate individual and I hope everyone gets their money back, bad Karma (If it exists) on you for life.

We have both left you Negative Rep in response to this, I hope you have a Happy New Year as our Xmas was ruined because of you Cry

All we want to know is why did you just take it and run ? We were not going to release something when we didn't know what was being done with our code after you left very abruptly with no contact or return afterwards... ?

well this is quite shocking... if lithium is now a scam, i'd like to cover my face in disgrace now. i shared this to my friends and posted about it on my facebook  Embarrassed
Yes true, if indeed this project scam, please immediately remove and with awareness of the OP to close this project and return the funds from investors. But if it is true, I hope you must use escrow service to hold funds from investors is the best choice.

I don't think this project was escrowed. The dev had control over the bitcoins, which some members on this thread said was dangerous. They were right. The dev has been offline for quite a while now. He should speak out and prove that this is a legit project
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN-ICO][LITHIUM][XLTH] ICO LIVE - 100% NEW CODE - EXCHANGE DIVIDENDS - DAO on: January 06, 2017, 07:58:34 AM
Ok then. The question in short. Yesterday the ICO page showed 2.1 BTC. This morning it was down to 1.9 BTC. How come?
And one question that just pops up in my head: What's about the DAO mentioned in the title?

The balance change was because I coded something badly, but I have fixed it now. Basically, when I queried the Database It wasn΄t taking into account some accounts that made multiple deposits to the same address.

The DAO thing I was planning to explain more but I havend΄t had time to do so. Basically, it stands for Decentralized Autonomous Organization, so my idea was to threat investors like an organization or company, where they were able to make decisions, regarding the Exchange, dividens, and the protocol in general.

I hope I find some time, to write more about it.

Are you sure  ? Because after down at 1,9 the total up to 4 BTC and 6,7 BTC

This is what happens if an ICO project isn't escrowed.

Laki ibinaba ng presyo malas nakabile ako nung mataas pa tapos nahirapang ibenta.

Bumibili ako kahit anong price. Nakabili ako nung pinaka peak na price. Nung pababa, nakabili din ako. Up to now, bumibili pa rin ako. I believe that the main developer, Mr. Benjamin Pacheco, won't abandon psb. Pesobit is a very young coin and is a promising one, so I wouldn't really call it "malas"  Wink Let's work towards a bright pesobit future dahil lahat din naman tayo makikinabang.

With bitcoin climbing, most altcoins are slipping in value. Pesobit's price has dipped so low that, yes, it's a good time to buy. I just hope that it becomes a functional altcoin soon to boost it's value so even if bitcoin's price continues to soar, our psb will be unaffected.

756  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: anong price ni bitcoin nung nagsisimula p lng kau on: January 03, 2017, 12:50:50 PM
True.

Kung babalikan natin ang historical price ng bitcoin, November 2013 price hit 1000 usd then crashed to 600-800 in December.

On January 2014, price spiked to $1000 then dipped back to 800, dropping further following the Mt. Gox fiasco, and still dipping down to 200 until March 2015.

757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoins have Tax?? on: January 03, 2017, 11:11:56 AM
If you have a serious amount of coins sitting in your wallets, and you declare these holdings when filling in your yearly tax reports, then they will definitely make you pay tax over what you hold in Bitcoin. As long as you don't declare any of your holdings, the government won't find out, and thus you end up escaping from paying tax. That's how it should be done.

Governments indeed won't find out what you are hiding, but the recent news of the IRS and Coinbase is just a first sign of what governments are going to do in the coming years. If we don't declare our coins, and I am sure the far majority won't be doing that, then the governments will come after us by forcing exchanges to hand over every bit of important user information. I just wonder what the next actions of the governments will be once they investigate user information. I think they will force people to pay tax plus a penalty for tax evasion. It's an extremely sad outcome if this turns out to be reality, but governments see tax evasion as a serious crime.

Yes, I think it's being done in my country already. We have a wallet/exchange here called coins.ph which I think is a subwallet of coinbase.

A user will have to go through verification processes - from ID, to address, phone, and business verifications - when signing up with them. Once you get verified on all these plus link your coinbase wallet, your cash in and withdrawal limits get upgraded to the highest possible amount of bitcoins and cash you can withdraw or deposit on a 24-hour basis.

They may also ask you to go through a skype interview if they aren't convinced by documents you've submitted. So anonymity of users don't actually exist here -- if you signed up with them.

ANN: ICO GOES LIVE IN 1 HOUR

Reading the investor's handbook and I'm at the part which says "If there are no transactions in the last block, the network destroys the coins."

So what will happen if coins just remain in a wallet and the owner of the wallet doesn't want to use the coins just yet? Let's say there aren't any merchants to use use the coin and so coins would just sit in a wallet until the owner finds a good time to release them... Would the coins just disappear because they weren't used...?
