741  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto as a payment method for goods: what to expect in 2019 on: February 25, 2019, 06:44:03 PM
Hi guys.
I'm wondering what's your opinion on the goods purchased in currencies other than euros or dollars, say crypto. I'm aware it's being used as a regular currency in various fields now. There are, for instance, lots of successfully run marketplaces based on crypto out there.
Over the past year, the market capitalization within crypto soared to the Moon.  Unfortunately, it's been a bear trend for a while now and no one can say for sure when it's gone. However, I am still thinking there's some light at the end of the tunnel - new market, pretty few competitors, great potential. So it's high time to become an active user.

So that begs the questions: Your thoughts on crypto as a payment method? Any progress achieved in the upcoming year?
It is really the right time to become an active user!  Cryptocurrency market is trying to survive and I do believe that it is currently too volatile to be as money.  It has to became very stable and adoptable for us to be able to used it for the payment for good and services.  Online and offline business cannot really used it because you will not know if it will grow or not and if it goes down as it is doing now there is no way you will not lose.
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Hardfork on: February 25, 2019, 05:02:27 PM
Since the hardfork is going to affect the mining I think it is going to affect the price.  It is well knowing that supply do affects pricing and since the hardfork is going to affect the number of ethereum that we would be able to mine by 2/3 there is no way ethereum prices will not increase.  I know that alot of ethereum is currently in the market and that has affected the price but now we are going to have reduction of it.
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There will be many tokens that go to zero. on: February 25, 2019, 07:42:02 AM
ICO experienced a boom at the end of 2017 - early 2018, which was followed by failure when prices dropped and state and federal regulators cracked down on projects that were in conflict with securities law.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/most-digital-tokens-will-go-to-zero-says-digital-currency-group-ceo

The majority of digital tokens will not have long-term value.
That is truth and I think the major reason why bitcoin and others cryptocurrencies fall in 2018 was because icos market which was the trending then also failed.  Many of the tokens we have today will not be in existence in some years to come because there have no values.  Everything related to icos are now being seeing as scam and few people are investing in the cryptocurrency now.  Bitcoin itself is not doing too well.
744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this the beginning of the arrival of a bull run? on: February 25, 2019, 07:28:02 AM
from the data that I got from https://coinmarketcap.com/ on February 18, 2019 I saw that almost all types of crypto currencies experienced very good developments.
Bitcoin experienced a growth of 3.42%, Ethereum 12.08%, EOS 10.45%.

Data and information sources: https://coinmarketcap.com/

is this the beginning of the coming bull run this year? or just the beginning of the price will fall again?
What is your opinion?
Technically it is a sign of bull run as bitcoin is trying to test $3700  support area.  If that support area hold then we should expect a bull run to commence.  However,  fundamentally it is very hard to said as the issues that brought the cryptocurrencies market down are still there and except those issues are deal with we would still have this bearish market with us.  Bitcoin has lose around $300 since yesterday evening and I think it might drop further.
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BOUNTIES That's Paying ETHEREUM (or Listed Currencies) on: February 23, 2019, 08:37:56 AM
I don't think any bounty is currently paying in ethereum but at the time of open this thread about two campaigns were paying in ethereum.  However you can visit service section to apply for those campaigns that are paying in bitcoin as I even prefer to be paid in bitcoin than other coins.
Nice update .can update more about bounty program who are they paid bounty program by eth.If you know some other Thread  please tell that thread link.
I don't think any bounty is currently paying in ethereum but at new bounty is paying in ripple and you can visit bounty section to apply.
746  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm so happy to receive a reward on: February 23, 2019, 07:04:27 AM
I understand this feeling, having been there before. But the basic question remains, "what is the value of this airdropped coin?" Most of these are more often worthless. Nothing good comes cheap.

The value does not really matter as long as user get it for absolutely free. Take any airdrops as bonus but do not expect too much that it will worth big amount of money.
Nothing good comes cheap? Generally you are very wrong, look at BTC back when it was launched 10 years ago and compare it with recent price only. No need to compare it with its ATH price. Anything may happen in this crypto world, dont underestimate cheap coin too much.
Because it is free do not mean it should not have value sir.  I have many airdrops coins or tokens in my wallet and there are of no used to me because there have no values.  I think we sometimes things that airdrops is free coins but i don't think there are free because the developer give it for something and that is part of advertising the projects and most people come to know about the project through airdrops.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should we be expecting a bull run? on: February 22, 2019, 08:01:28 PM
What do we expect from this sudden moon, is it a half moon or are we finally leaving the bear market?
The market has started recovering and the cryptocurrency market will soon commence another bullish trend that may last till the end of the year.  I think we should start buying as bitcoin may not go below $3000. I think it has fall enough and it might not fall further again.
Moreso,  we have many other economical events in future that are going to stimulate the growth of this market.  I know that the ethereum hardfork is on the ways and we have hope that that is going to change how we view ethereum.
748  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New Bitcoin Exchange Launches in Nigeria, Africa: Guava Exchange on: February 22, 2019, 07:41:44 PM
I think it's about time that our African brethren join the markets, as it could potentially be a game-changer for their financial status and capabilities and to position themselves better on the economy. Not much is happening around Africa regarding cryptocurrencies and development of the said scene, and tbh this is the first time I have read about Africa meddling with crypto for months, so it's a good thing.
I really agree with you.  We have enough potential to develop our economic.  Cryptocurrencies enable every country to be independent as it is decentralized and it will be very difficult for any other major currency to have dominion over a country economic.
A cryptocurrencies exchange platforms is one of the things we need in Africa as many people keep asking me on how they can sell their bitcoin or ethereum for the country currency.  I always refer them to open account with remitano but now that our is open I think it is wise we refer our own after testing their integrity.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the trend of 2019? on: February 22, 2019, 04:20:22 PM
2017 was the year of ICOs and 2018 was the year of exchanges and stable coins. What is the trend of 2019?

IMO, it's IEO. Basically, IEO is an ICO but taking place on an exchange. BitTorrent is a typical example of IEO. Running on an ordinary blockchain (Tron) but BitTorrent was sold out and flying high in the past few days. Its success was contributed a lot by Binance, where tokens are sold.

Since STO needs a lot of guideline and legal framework from government to be completed, I have a strong feeling that IEO will be the trend of 2019. Your thought?
I am coming across this IEO for the first time though have been in this cryptocurrencies market for long.  I know about tron very well and I am holding some unit of tron but this IEO is quite new to me.  Since is the trending things I will like to know more about it in other not to be left behind.  2017, I was able to take the advantage of icos and make some money and I thought the icos was still favourable in investing in 2018 but I lose alot of money.  I think this thread is good for some of us the investors.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: February 22, 2019, 04:04:57 PM
I am a Hodler, I have waited for straight 8 difficult months to see the bulls return, we were having some semblance to a boom in the last 2 weeks, now market cap is struggling with 250 Billion $. How long are we going to wait?
This bearish market is the longest in the history of cryptocurrencies and that makes it very difficult for reversal.  Cryptocurrencies market has not witnessed this type of long bearish trend and we should have one thing at the back of our mind that the market is going to recover and it will recover when a strong fundamentals news hit the market.  Were it is now is a correction zone and we hope something happen before the middle of this year and we are able to recover some of the loses that has been incurred.
751  Economy / Economics / Re: LESSONS FROM CRYPTO MARKET on: February 22, 2019, 07:29:25 AM
Of a truth we have made significant loses in the past because of not taken the right investments decision at the right time.  I could said that both bitcoin and altcoins investments and trading is a very risky venture and most people that trade it doesn't understand how to analyze this risk before investing.
If you look at the way so many people are crying because the market went down to low,  you will understand that many of them are investing into cryptocurrencies market at a very wrong time. If we allowed fear and greed controlling our investments decision then what we would be getting will be loses.
752  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto trading can help nation with no Job create jobs? on: February 22, 2019, 07:06:24 AM
I don't think so. First of all, trading is not a job. Although it can contribute to your income, it doesn't mean it should be your main income. In my opinion, trading is like an investment. What you are using is your asset. There is no assurance of specific profit.
We have many people that are living and having good life through trading!  I have friends that are completely depends on trading for the past seven years and some of them see the trading as job because that is what they do.
Trading is very risky and at the same time it can help us getting income that we may not depend on government for provisions of jobs as many of us can easily develop our skills and intelligence and become a profitable investors. We should be able to help our government provide jobs by train some people on trading in cryptocurrencies market.
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PUMP TIME? on: February 21, 2019, 07:48:27 PM
20% up for Ethereum since pump starts https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum
i expect to down after hard fork
I think the hard fork is in favour of ethereum going up as the rate of mining ethereum will reduce and that will lower supply which in turn will increase the price.
The market has started recovering and almost all the coins are appreciating this day.  I think ethereum is one of the coins that has make a good gains for the past few day. Bitcoin itself is also trying to break $4000  level and I do believe that the pump may last for some days as the market capitalization is also growing.
754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash getting closer. What next? on: February 21, 2019, 06:50:03 PM
Today the price of ethereum and bitcoin cash has come close in value. By now the value of ethereum is $122.23 and Bitcoin Cash is found $122.61, and will the price of bitcoin cash fall further providing path for users to make a large scale investment on bitcoin cash moving from ethereum.
I really don't think people are flipping ethereum and bitcoin cash but a coincidence in pricing and even till now we are having that price similarities between the two coins.  I count this as a bad market for bitcoin cash as from the beginning it has been having upper hand above ethereum in terms of pricing.  Both coins are also suffering from the downward trend and it is good we understand this in other to be able to invest along.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question to all ICO investors. on: February 21, 2019, 06:25:10 PM
What are the biggest sources, channels (YouTube channels/influencers, Twitter accounts/influencers etc, ICO rating websites) online that you use to find out in which ICO to invest in?
Most of the icos I invested in has not done well and I have seeing other one that I have not invested also not doing well!  I find all information on icos mostly from this great and highly respected bitcointalk forum.  I think all the information that do come out in this forum are reliable and most of the projects that makes great promotions here always got great investment and do meet up with the hard cap.  However,  I have decided to focus on the projects that has pass ico level and are now in the cryptocurrencies market in other to avoid story that touched heart.
756  Economy / Economics / Re: How to prevent fraud? on: February 21, 2019, 05:55:41 PM
This is a will write up information about fraud and I really learn alot from this information.  I have see fraud in all facets of endeavour and people in authority are really the best fraudster.  From government agencies to public office holding we see a lot of fraud daily and I think since some of them has fraud investigating agencies in their pockets it very difficult to find out and prosecute them.  Follow your recommendation I think it is best we have a system that makes it difficult for people to commit fraud and scam.
757  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: could this be the best week for litecoin on: February 21, 2019, 05:34:34 PM
IF we all notice, there was a major break tru this week with the crypo market. the major cryptocurrencies made a bullish bias after establishing a  new short term uptrend this week. currently it looks like ripple remains the only top coin yet to make a serious move.
The major leading coin is litecoin. this coin recorded a swipe move within two weeks from 32usd to 50 usd. a huge break out. as the LTC is overbought due to its recent gains, do we think we will continue this bullish trend with litecoin are we will expect the bears soon.

Generally at this point the market is making some reset and correction. If the correction did not last for long I think the bullish trend will continue but if it last towards the weekend then bitcoin,  ethereum and litecoin maybe in bear condition again.  Litecoin has seriously makes some gains and profits for the past three days and for those that were able to buy and hold till now I think the have made around 80% profits and those people may like to take profits at the moment. If they are taking profits there is no way litecoin will not fall in price.
758  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will not go above $4,000 on: February 21, 2019, 09:14:06 AM
Bitcoin crossing $4000 will happen either today or tomorrow.  I think bitcoin is going to recover and remain in bull trend for some times.  The event that lead to the downfall in pricing of cryptocurrencies is still there but that did not mean that bitcoin will not recover over those issues and for those that think that bitcoin is overvalued,  I don't Think that bitcoin is overvalued and the current price is not the best price.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: About New MEW Interface Apps and The Old Ethereum Wallets! on: February 20, 2019, 04:47:29 PM
As many of you know, MyEtherWallet has begun to fall behind the day, and we've been forced to use MEW for some needs. At MEW, they must have noticed that by making an upgrade, they made the platform richer.

As always, web wallet serves as the MetaMask for those who want to continue with the new interface MEW CX Chrome Extension and also on mobile Android and iPhone .
[NOTE: To avoid events like before, please be careful of "phishing" and do not enter your Private Key and Seed without checking all links, including the links I use here]

Up to this update, a different solution has been developed for mobile wallets with the JSON file and / or Private Key. Now mobile wallet application can be installed with seed key which can be used as mobile wallet hardware wallet.

Most of us, including myself, were having problems with the use of existing wallets in this mobile application. Because when you install the wallet, you can import your old account with the private key, not the seed key. I didn't know how to change this, so I sent an e-mail to MyEtherWallet and asked for a status return.

Quote
We recommend that you generate a completely new wallet with MEWconnect, and then transfer your funds from your old wallet to the new one. There are a few reasons why this is the best option for the security of your funds.

MEWconnect has a hardware wallet-like functionality. Your private key is protected. This is a significantly safer way to access documents than JSON / Keystore.

By creating a new wallet.

Restoring an existing wallet. Therefore, we do not want to be able to use our platforms.

That's it what came from the MEW team.

I guess that's why we won't be able to use old wallets at least for the time being with MEW Connect or MEW CX.
Thank you for sharing this with us and I have learned alot from what you just posted.  Myetherwallet now have a new interface and when I was trying to access my wallet yesterday I got confused and I was afraid of Phishing because I could remember that many people posted here what happened to them and they ethereum holding before!  I will join my voice with op to say be careful before long in into the new interface especially through online wallets.
760  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading In Venezuela Keeps Setting New Records on: February 20, 2019, 04:18:45 PM
https://beincrypto.com/bitcoin-trading-in-venezuela-keeps-setting-new-records/?utm_campaign=bitcoin-trading-in-venezuela-keeps-setting-new-records&utm_medium=rss&utm_source=rss

Peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading volumes in Venezuela have hit all-time highs amid escalating economic and political crises.

Last week, Bitcoin broke another record in terms of trading volume in Venezuela. The latest spike confirms that Venezuelans choose Bitcoin instead of their national currency as a store of value amidst shocking hyperinflation and rising political uncertainty.

As we all know that bitcoin is really a safe haven for Venezuelans specially in the last couple of years and we can say that it did help them to survive the economic turmoil. But it's not done yet because Maduro doesn't want to step down does why bitcoin is setting new records in the country. Venezuela's crisis is one use case how bitcoin or crypto has really help people in times of financial trouble.

It is good news and that means bitcoin can replace our country's currencies during financial crisis.  The increase in trading volume is a welcome development and if we can analyze what is happening over there we can actually invest along and take profit from they investments.  The economic and political crises in Venezuela may last for long and that means most of the Venezuelas might like to hedge the funds for bitcoin.  Cryptocurrencies is actually a safe heaven for most of the financial problems if it is well developed.
