7521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arizona has legalized fantasy sports betting! on: September 25, 2021, 06:31:22 AM
I’m just glad I finally get to participate in fantasy sports. I’ve been waiting for a crypto alternative for years and am shocked nobody has done it well yet. Nevertheless, regulators have opened the door so that I can use existing options for my fantasy fix. I guess we’ll see how steep the learning curve is now. Smiley
7522  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Who can estimate the budget and build the project for me? on: September 25, 2021, 12:28:07 AM
^ Why not open a discussion here so that everyone can give their honest review and calculation.
What estimation do you mean? Financial estimation?
We have a lot of project experts here, you can share with us and we can give our thought.

Yea financial estimation. Like someone who could tell me how much funds are required to build a certain project, so I can go with fund raising with planning. I planned this project with friend, our idea is to first to reach out developers privately and then public announce it. Btw it's not new, but we are adding what we think other project lacks.

Its better if you can briefly tell about the project and then maybe anyone who is expert on that niche, can guide you and also give you budget proposal.
But remember, always use escrow once you finalize the deal with anyone to implement and develop the project.

Indeed. We all have our experience and it is typically not in the same area. There are some things I could accurate quote you a price on and other things that I would have absolutely no idea while another person may know exactly what you want and how much it would cost. As they say, the devil is in the details. The more details you provide, the better.
7523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All crypto declared illegal in China!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: September 24, 2021, 10:09:00 PM
Someone should do an analysis of the return on investment you’d have if you purchased Bitcoin only when the news that China was banning it came out. At this point, it seems like China is the boy who cried wolf when it comes to Bitcoin. It’s possible culture differences could be at play here as well. It could be that China is reaffirming their stance as I don’t believe the Chinese are going to stop using Bitcoin suddenly.
7524  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Are there currently any new nice collectibles? on: September 24, 2021, 10:02:32 PM
I’ve been selling Minted Seats that I created nearly a decade ago. They’re unique in that the private keys are engraved onto the metal and not printed on paper. There’s some other cool features that make them unlike any coin you’ve ever seen before. You can still find the ones that haven’t sold out at https://nastyfans.org/mint
7525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 24, 2021, 08:44:59 PM
Somewhat of a slow day for NBA news. I guess teams are busy getting ready for preseason and are starting to feel secure in their units. Anyway, big news of the day is that Avery Bradley signed with the Warriors. I’m not sure he’ll see much playing time, but he’s a decent vet that would come in handy if the Warriors backcourt suffers more injuries.
7526  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone tried to what looks like groom me. on: September 24, 2021, 07:07:32 AM
Wow. That’s incredibly creepy. I never thought we had to worry about predators combing these boards, but it is apparently happening and likely has been for some time. I guess as the community grows, so do the problems as more of society’s riff raff finds their way into our beloved online gathering place.
7527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 24, 2021, 03:35:02 AM
Don't bet on a team, bet on the over because preseason is like an exhibition game, less defense so most probably the games will go over. However, we still have to look at the total and carefully analyze it because bookies are also smart, they know that thing too and no easy money in gambling for gamblers.
First, thank you stadus for the tip.
Yes, that's what we should do, pre-season is just showing their skills and I was really shocked last year when players getting heat up and almost went to a brawl in a preseason. They are just supposed to play mildly to avoid injuries, the commentator didn't expect that too.  Grin
I am used to betting with Over and Under but I am still looking forward to the other thread for tips and I wish it opens before the pre-season.  Wink

The hardest part to me about betting on preseason sports is that you never know which of the stars are going to be playing in a game for whatever reason. Maybe one team has all their pros trying something out while another team is giving the end of the bench guys a shot. It’s just too risky for my blood.
7528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter to pay content creators in bitcoin on: September 23, 2021, 06:42:41 PM
I hear they’re also going to allow authenticated NFTs as profile picks. That is the start of the game changing for NFTs. Once they become a provable flex on social networks, shit could start to get wild. Every celebrity and social media influencer is going to want to have the best and most expensive profile pics…
7529  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] The Rarest Book on: September 23, 2021, 09:39:55 AM
Very cool. I had no idea this existed but as the popularity in these collectibles continues to increase I’m sure it will become only more coveted. Very few collectors have any idea what rare pepes are yet, but I’m certain they will soon. I know a lot of work is being done recently to further the old NFT tech.
7530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 23, 2021, 03:35:37 AM
I’m only now seeing today’s news about crypto.com being the jersey sponsor for the 76ers this year and releasing a line of NFTs. This is so crazy. Crypto has come so far it’s hard to believe. The overall industry has really thrived in a limitless environment. No doubt a lot of basketball fans will be buying crypto to get NFTs just because of this brand deal.

Story out now from Stephen A Smith about how the Nets were going to trade Kyrie for Ben Simmons and call him on his retirement bluff, but KD stepped in and said no, squashing any potential deal. Kyrie is lucky KD has his back. Hopefully Kyrie understands now that he isn’t #1 or #2 on that team. He’s a step above role player and needs to start acting like it.
7532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 22, 2021, 06:26:07 PM
I saw a rumor today that the Lakers are going to be giving Monta Ellis a workout for the team. I’m not sure how old he is these days, but Monta was a killer back with the Warriors in Steph’s early days. If he can still play and is motivated to go for a championship, that could be a great pickup. Hopefully he’s still got some in the tank.
7533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Always have an exit strategy on: September 21, 2021, 11:01:04 PM
A lot of veterans I talked to back in January/ February had exit plans that were going into action late summer and early to mid fall at the latest. That was a majority of veterans.  I think bitcoins dropping to its new bottom slowly but surely. But it won’t go past ath for a while. It has been nearly a year and 6 months. Historically it probably means the btc 2021 bull run is over.

In spite of your bearish predictions, your advice is sound that everyone should have an exit strategy.  If the price hits millions suddenly it won't do you any good if you have no way setup to cash out and no plan in place for paying taxes on the gains, etc.  It's best to plan not only for at what price you'll cash out, but using which service and how you'll account for it.  Then you need to make sure you have the proper verifications in place so that you won't be stalled up by low daily limits or long verification processes when it comes time to sell.  Whether you're selling at a loss or a gain, that's good advice.
7534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 21, 2021, 10:57:47 PM
Ben Simmons now officially not reporting to training camp. Seems Vegas is betting he’ll be on the Minnesota Timberwolves before the season starts. I’m still thinking Sacramento but we’ll see. I was surprised to hear JJ Redick retired officially today also. One of the better shooters in NBA history. He’ll be missed.

Very interesting.

I wonder if the 76ers will take further action when it comes to this stuff.

They seem to say in media releases that they do plan on fining Ben Simmons if he doesn't turn up to training camp. But the fine seems so small that it really doesn't make a difference to Ben. I agree that Sacramento is the prime destination for him right now.

They might say that but Simmons has made us his mind that he doesn't want to play with his team anymore, and this will force the management to trade him immediately. I'm not actually aware that Kings would be his probable destination, I was hoping he will still be traded with the Golden State Warriors.

Whatever best for Ben and his team, I'll support it as I believe Ben has more to offer that his new team will appreciate.

Man I was wrong looks like Simmons is holding pat.  Sixers said they got terrible trade offers for him.  If I were the sixers I'd let him not show up.  Fine him $220,000 every game he doesn't show up for.  Pretty punk move on his part.  I'd find out where he least wants to go and take whatever that team has to offer for him after midway through the year.  Good luck to the kid coming back to Philly for a game, will need his own security lol.

It is definitely a punk move on Simmons' part, but he's doing it because it puts the Sixers in a tough spot.  If they start fining him and leave him sitting on the bench, that will be horrible for him personally and professionally.  That looks bad on your organization as future free agents you might want to sign will remember what happened to Ben Simmons when he decided he didn't want to be there anymore.  The obvious move is to send him to Sacramento where he'll probably never see the success he just cowered from in Philly.
7535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is telling people you're into stocks "cool" but crypto is a big secret? on: September 21, 2021, 10:53:49 PM
I think it's about the barrier of entry.  To own stocks you have to at least be 18 (in most cases) and have money to purchase stocks.  Meanwhile, any kid willing to spam or run their computer using Mom's electricity can call themselves into crypto.  While that isn't always the case, there is certainly a lot of that happening due to the low barrier of entry.  That low barrier of entry is what's great about crypto though.  I love all the stories I've read over the years of teenagers who have made life changing wealth as a result of their interaction with crypto.
7536  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Top 5 boards deserve most merits on: September 21, 2021, 10:36:48 PM
Giving this some thought and knowing that my votes don't match my activity makes me want to dedicate more merit to different sections.  It's tough sometimes because some of the folks here, especially in the Bitcoin Technical Support section have some pretty high level advice that isn't understood by the majority.  That would also be the type of place you tend to only visit when you have a problem or are looking something up.  I'll have to do a better job about taking some time to get in there and give out some 'rits.
7537  Economy / Reputation / Re: My bitcointalk account got misused by my friend on: September 21, 2021, 10:31:21 PM
I handed my bitcointalk account to my friend few years ago and he started doing paid shit posting. Now I asked him to provide me the account login and when I checked that its simple got down voted.
Is there anyway to fix my account reputation?

If it were just paid shit posting as you describe then I don't think it would be that big of an issue.  It appears (at a quick glance so maybe I'm wrong) that your friend was promoting an outright scam knowingly.  That's the sort of thing that just doesn't go away with a thread and a good story.  I'd say if you handed away your account years ago, that's an equally bad offense and likely won't get you much sympathy around here.  You're probably risking more negative feedback to be totally honest.  All you can really do is roll with the punches and try to rebuild a reputation.
7538  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Where did all the OG collectors go? on: September 21, 2021, 07:31:03 PM
I am highly skeptical of NFTs.  Personally I think NFT's for things like marriage licenses, birth certificates, etc are a great way to store those types of things, but when it comes to art or trading cards etc, color me extremely leery.  My personal prediction is that the majority of their values will plummet eventually.  Charlie Lee and I were chatting about this kind of stuff the other day.  When the creator of Litecoin hates "collectible NFTs", makes you wonder.  I of course could be wrong, and I do think some NFTs are kinda cool and that some should retain their value over time, but how much is what worries me personally.  Just my 2 satoshis.

I think that the best use case for them right now would actually be tickets to events. Sports fans would I’m sure love to have a digital collection of events they’ve attended and knowing their tickets are legitimate, while it would allow events to profit from the secondary sales of tickets from scalpers. The fact that NFTs are doing so well and their main use case at the moment is profile pics on Twitter is pretty impressive.

Yeah I agree, that would be a very good use of NFTs.  That is the kind of stuff that I think makes NFTs a pretty cool thing.  The art or sports cards aspect of NFTs I just remain a skeptical of.  Like you mention those Twitter profile pic NFT deals.  I find that to be a bit silly, and I am shocked to see people spending as much as they are on those.  I just can't imagine that those will appreciate in value and or hold their value long-term.

I can see it actually with reference to the profile pics. Gamers are getting more and more revenue opportunities and I can’t think of a bigger flex then to be sporting a million dollar profile pic as an online gamer. They just need the infrastructure to improve so that games get profile pics from the blockchain that are verified instead of having you upload whatever image you want. I could see every professional gamer wanting to level up their profile pics to show off their level of success.

7540  Economy / Speculation / Re: What cause Bitcoin to drop up to 42k$? on: September 21, 2021, 09:43:20 AM
Bitcoin price is still below 200 Daily MA/moving average which means very weak. Is this the time that we can see bitcoin below 40k$ or back below 30k$ is there something wrong or negative feedbacks that cause this dropping of the price? Do you have an idea about this dropping guys?

Just traders doing what traders do.  You couldn't expect a clean golden cross without some profit taking to setup for the next leg.  While these signals are great, they are usually preyed upon for quick and easy profits.  That doesn't mean they are invalid signals, just that there's always got to be room for the traders to make money, or at least to try.  If we got down below $30K I would agree that something horrible has happened.  For now, we should just chalk it up to typical volatility.
