The trouble is hes trying to cash out to fiat and not looking for something to buy within the economy. Even buy some gold at coinabul since hes a gold nut.

Fail.

Coinabul would probably be his best bet, but he was looking for things to buy. The choices just suck.

The choices on milkraod are overwhelming. Someone said he liked to smoke the bong... maybe he should pick up the habit again.
7522  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: instawallet has fallen new owner stealing on: March 11, 2013, 08:11:49 PM
I have gotten several pms from people saying they had the same thing happen. apparently the day the ownership changed is the day my cash got hacked. this is a big scam and obviously several people have been employed to cover it up. well have fun with that im sure what you deserve will come around eventually. seriously the same day ownership changes and a Russian hacker robs me!? I call bullshit. but seriously good job your like Hitler huge accomplishments but really fucked up

Those are some serious allegations. You better put some more info here along with them.

repetition doesn't make it any more true, but according to a book I'm currently reading repetition is a reliable way to make people believe it.

Innnntersting.

McCorvic is the smartest person alive.  McCorvic is the sexist human being ever.  McCorvic is in your base, killing your d00ds.  McCorvic is the smartest person alive.  McCorvic is the sexist human being ever.  McCorvic is in your base, killing your d00ds.

Also from the book is something along these lines: You can't restrain yourself from reading words in a language you speak when you look at them. Smiley

Back to bitcoin...

About 4.000 is waiting for verification at Gox  Grin

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1a2dzz/just_submitted_mtgox_verification_position_3840/

wait, what the... what?!?

there are this many verification request pending? They are processing 280 of these in 4 hours? Are these new accounts?

EDIT: actually: do you need to verify your account to deposit >$1000 or only to withdraw >$1000?
7525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 11, 2013, 07:59:17 PM
LTC is to BTC as Silver is to Gold.

Repeating this doesn't make it any more true.

Watch.

McDonald's is good for your heart!  Burger King is the preferred meal for athletes!  Dairy Queen Blizzards is a low-calorie alternative to a banana.

repetition doesn't make it any more true, but according to a book I'm currently reading repetition is a reliable way to make people believe it.

Quote from: Thinking, Fast and Slow (Daniel Kahneman)
A reliable way to make people believe in falsehoods is frequent repetition, because familiarity is not easily distinguished from truth. Authoritarian institutions and marketers have always known this fact. But it was psychologists who discovered that you do not have to repeat the entire statement of a fact or idea to make it appear true. People who were repeatedly exposed to the phrase “the body temperature of a chicken” were more likely to accept as true the statement that “the body temperature of a chicken is 144°” (or any other arbitrary number). The familiarity of one phrase in the statement sufficed to make the whole statement feel familiar, and therefore true. If you cannot remember the source of a statement, and have no way to relate it to other things you know, you have no option but to go with the sense of cognitive ease.

so be careful what you write. And also: bitcoin is the best money!
7526  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-10 ZeroHedge: The Demographics of Bitcoin on: March 11, 2013, 07:21:22 PM

It's more likely how men on the internet react to women.

A few months back, I must of said something that led a large group of people on this forum to believe I was a woman (I'm still not sure what).  I know this because I woke up one morning to a flood of PMs asking to date me and asking for tit pics.  Some of them very obviously spent that entire night reading every post I'd made on the forum up until that point.  It was super creepy, and I'm not even a woman!

Are you all going to ignore the elephant in the room?
Fine, I guess it is up to me to ask the question on everyone's mind then:  Did you end up sending them pictures of your chest?   Grin

The real question is, since this is the bitcoin forum, why didn't you send them pictures of some titties and request a little courtesy and maybe prospect of more?
7527  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-10 ZeroHedge: The Demographics of Bitcoin on: March 11, 2013, 06:37:13 PM
LOL From my experience a lot of the really smart women keep their identities or gender hidden from men on the internet, I know because some of them have spoken to me before Cheesy To be honest, unless they've got more balls than men the women who show themselves on the internet are usually attention whores or just don't know much about the internet.

Never thought of this. Maybe there's women on the internet after all.
7528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I used to have some respect for Chris Douane... on: March 11, 2013, 11:42:31 AM
I wrote him a pleasant letter pointing out that he could help people get rid of bitcoins and stack silver, and at the same time take in dollars directly, a perfect win-win for both parties. Just implement a bitcoin payment processor and there is literally no downside except for higher order volume.

He will find the light!

Brilliant!

I'd buy a liberty girl using bitpay just for the fun of it.
7529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Newbie Special]: Casascius 1 BTC Coin: 1.48 BTC incl. shipping, buy 1 or 2 on: March 11, 2013, 08:49:10 AM
Arrived here - nice discrete packaging. Lovely artifact. Thanks.

 Grin

That was quick! Thanks for letting us know. Glad you like the coins. I still can't get enough of looking at them even after months of mailing them to people. It's alway a nice moment to prepare the shipments Wink

It was a pleasure doing business with you.
7530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 11, 2013, 07:12:15 AM
Well, looks like someone's wire transfer has just gone through...

Monday morning Europe time! :-)

I used to hate Mondays. Thanks Bitcoin
7531  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-08 Keiser Report 416: It Feels Great To Be A Bitcoin Millionaire on: March 11, 2013, 06:47:56 AM
I'm glad to hear publicly outspoken positive bitcoin-talk, but this guy is annoying to listen to. I couldn't listen past the one minute mark...
what's up with you? *shouts at top of voice* KILLL THE BANNKKKSTERRRRS!

Look, I'm all for killing the banksters! But if you're making a youtube video and you're not going to boast your agenda, at least do it with class...

Would be pretty nasty to start seeing Charlene being sold on Silk Road.

THA FUCK! In soviet russia, you destruct drones.
7532  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-08 Erik Voorhees on Peter Schiff Show Today on: March 11, 2013, 06:39:01 AM
awesome, thanks Erik.

I could feel your nervousness, but you mastered every question bravourously. Weirdly, all the most important stuff was taken care of. There were some big holes after the initial interview, but the callers allowed you to fill in the gaps. There were no "dumb questions" either, they're doing a great job pre-filtering the callers, I guess.

I really liked how you told callers "that's a good question" a couple of times. And they were good questions.

Amazing... let's see if Peter comes around, too at some point.

Side-note: hearing a lot about that new hampshire (was it) libertopia or freedom fest meeting. The host made it sound like it was infested with bitcoiners. Shit like this makes me re-consider my stance towards the USA. A year ago I would've said: I'll never go there again in my life. Now it looks like there's so many open- and free-minded people "over there" that it looks like the people could beat their gone-berserk gov't (by ignoring it mostly). We need more of this stuff in Europe.
7533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 11, 2013, 06:35:16 AM
LTC is to BTC as Silver is to Gold.

When Gold goes up, Silver goes up faster  Wink

Since when are you on this boat?
7534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I used to have some respect for Chris Douane... on: March 11, 2013, 06:31:43 AM
All these people bashing bitcoins are hedging their audience in case of a hypothetical system failure.

The hardest part about a hypothetical collapse of the Bitcoin's system (due to a 51% attack, broken crypto, scalability etc) would be these guys screaming: "Hey, I told you that it was a 'Ponzi' since the beginning!" or "It was hacked! There's always a CIA's backdoor!".

I, for one, would have a hell of a history to tell.

What Bitcoin taught me about money can't be taken away from me.

+1 emphasis mine

yeah, I +1 this, too. However unlikely I think a "bitcoin collapse" is, this fact that bitcoin "woke me up" soothes the soul.

I've taken the red pill, there's no way back.

7535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I used to have some respect for Chris Douane... on: March 11, 2013, 06:29:54 AM
but what if he's right

then the dollar will crash, the power will go out, and the internet will self destruct.  Cheesy

but he says the dollar is a stable currency because it's backed by the power of government.

way to shoot himself in the knee.
7536  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-10 ZeroHedge: The Demographics of Bitcoin on: March 11, 2013, 06:19:45 AM

btw: since when are you back on the forums, psy?.

I've missed your crazy avatar. Or did I just not see your posts?
7537  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-10 ZeroHedge: The Demographics of Bitcoin on: March 11, 2013, 06:18:21 AM
Perhaps you are not thinking hard enough!

I was being facetious. It doesn't always come through in text.

No bankster in a million years would ever think to create, much less unleash, Bitcoin.

They might still buy some... it's a real asset, like gold/silver/real estate/...
7538  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: instawallet has fallen new owner stealing on: March 11, 2013, 06:11:22 AM
I hadn't looked at instawallet before.

So the wallet url is the password?

More then likely someone at this provider just scans proxy logs or put some monitor script?

wtf. That's like humongeously stupid... instawallet. Or am I not getting something?
7539  Bitcoin / Press / Re: No Agenda Show - #493 - 03/07/2013 on: March 11, 2013, 06:02:37 AM
I know who Dvorak is. For Dvorak to criticize and characterize Bitcoin the way he does is not at all a "No Agenda" format. He's the Rush Limbaugh of the tech industry.

Dvorak's predictive abilities closely match Proudhon's  Grin

Arey they deliberately being idiots? I honestly can't tell.

7540  Bitcoin / Press / Re: No Agenda Show - #493 - 03/07/2013 on: March 11, 2013, 06:02:00 AM
Who are these idiots?

I don't know. Someone should just buy their bitcoins already so they shut up.
