7521  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] B3 Avalon in Hand on: July 26, 2013, 01:39:22 PM
.. would like to see the 83 GH/s .. please provide actual  24 hour performance screenshot from pool stat  Roll Eyes

mine B2 avalon is 82 GH/s avg, it is normal with overclock to 350, no extra cooling necessary
nothing unusual here

Agreed, I've not come across a B2 (this B3 is essentially a B2) that can't hit 85-HW errors. The Avalon interface has low time as I'm constantly swapping between internets and moving the unit around trying to find the best place for it. Phone interface ftl.

double-bummer.

He is a do'er. This just means he is busy making units, managing logistics, chips and units. Would you rather he cuddle you and stroke your hair, or get those units built?

Dogie your snide tone is actually pretty ironic considering you are making money off of brokering Avalons. Bitcoin is supposed to be built around peer to peer trust, and a lot of people placed a lot of trust (and money) on Avalon. For you to make these kinds of pejorative remarks, insinuating that proper customer support on a $10,000 purchase would be akin to "cuddling and stroking [their] hair" is a bit outrageous. We are talking about millions of dollars here. Customer service is make or break, and people like to be informed about delays which could materially impact their expectations of profit from an otherwise useless SHA256 generator.

All I am saying is this:

You guys are complaining the units aren't here yet
You guys are complaining he isn't active on the forums
Do you a) want him active on the forums all day or b) help get you your units?

What's the order number ?
How many modules ?
Unsure on order number as it was a sealed passthrough, 3 modules.

Legend has it you can find the leads you so desire within the heart of the mountain, where the firebreather lives. Do you dare take up this quest?
7528  Bitcoin / Hardware / [PSA] B3 Avalons - Make sure you check PSUs before running! on: July 25, 2013, 01:14:06 PM
Just took delivery of a fresh B3. Plugged it in, all fine. Then I smelt hot components (being a dog).

Turns out the fan on the Enermax 850 included was dead. It was free to spin, just wasn't doing so. I'm sure there is some sort of thermal protection on these units, but is it worth the chance? Just remember to give your PSU a once over.
7529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best Way to Power an ASIC / Free Power ? on: July 25, 2013, 01:12:00 PM
I don't believe gen 4 will be any more 'efficient' in the way we're talking. We will still max out CPU/case cooling and PSU power consumption.

Ie why would we be happy with 4TH @ 300W when we could have 8TH at 600W?
7530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Efficient Bitcoin Miner System Implemented on Zynq SoC" on: July 25, 2013, 09:31:36 AM
It would never be 1 core per chip. That's about 15 years ago in processor design time.

I've always dreamed of making gyms into huge generators... put all that fat to work.

Seriously the only way to free electricity is in a dorm type situation or an apartment with paid utilities. Even then you can't go nuts or it will raise suspicion.

Yep I ran some rigs in a dorm. Although 16M^2 with shitty window restrictor and no space isn't that fun.

If you were to strap yourself to a bike, you wouldn't be able to sustain more than 200W for a few hours. You could peak at up to 3KW in very short intervals though.

3kW would be really impressive -- I max out at 450W and that's really hard.  200W average for an hour would be tough, but doable.

Its humanly possible is what I meant, its what Chris Hoy puts out on the 1st lap.
7532  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CloneBox Project - House your existing, or newly built, Avalon unit, with STYLE on: July 25, 2013, 12:49:45 AM
The original cases are much, much stronger as they're all flat, plate steel. A folded sheet design requires a much thinner material. Theoretically remove the case 'cover' in that design, and the base of your case is very weak to crushing (shearing) forces.

Relatively not drastically weak compared to computer cases, but then again how many computer cases do you ship around the world 2-5 times in its lifetime?

So why not post a picture saying "MinerStatus" so we don't have to worry/wonder if this is someone else named "Woodrake" who tried to sell this on a different forum and you are attempting to use the picture here to sell it as if it is your own?

Whoever buys this, please use escrow...
...he did? "Miner Status for Woodrake"

Also, I am not forcing anybody to do anything. They have a choice if they want my services or not. If they think I am charging too much, they can pass.

Yes you are. By patenting a new process, you're removing that process from the world for 20 years. No one can use it, release it or do anything else with it without giving you money.

7538  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need Avalon setup HELP [1 BTC] on: July 24, 2013, 12:32:34 AM
Bad gateway can be no internet on the connection, do you need to register MAC addresses? Assuming the connection is fine, then the cgminer error needs a hard restart of the unit a few times to clear.
