I lost a little bit of gusto on my reports when it became clear most of them weren’t being handled and it appeared as though the promised reporter badge would never materialize. Would be cool to see some %’s next to those reports. On that note, any idea if those reporter badges fell into the same black hole as the 10-year anniversary coins?

Looks like Marc Gasol officially retired from the NBA today. Had he done this last year the Lakers probably would have won a championship, but that’s neither here nor there. After securing a release from the Grizzlies, Gasol signed a deal to return to Spain to play. I imagine he’s going to play a final year there and then retire and live out the rest of his days in España.
7543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Golden Cross approaching on: September 20, 2021, 09:14:56 AM
So far that golden cross has proven to be a bull trap. The time for the expected blast off to the moon is quickly approaching though. If the prophesy it to turn out to be true, this might be the last dip before the big move. Maybe wishful thinking, but this may turn out to be a good buying point.
7544  Economy / Collectibles / Re: A physical bitcoin article put up on Bitcoin.com today on: September 20, 2021, 12:27:48 AM
Thanks steeley for sharing, I can only imagine how valuable these physical funded collectibles are going to be once the masses learn about them. It will be like the current nft craze on crack lol

I too appreciate the share as I likely wouldn't have seen it otherwise.  I'm not sure about the masses falling in love with these coins though.  A lot of crypto folks aren't interested in physical crypto as it does defeat the purpose a little bit.  Having old pre-fork BTC is pretty cool and being tied to a physical collector is definitely cool in my eyes, but I still think we're a bit of a niche interest group.  NFTs exist on the blockchain and appeal to the digital future aspect so I can see why they are more in the mainstream.  Do I think that a .png image of a pixelated head is worth millions or even worth as much as a 1 BTC Casascius coin?  No way, but I understand why it is.

Russell Westbrook looked miserable in the pictures from AD’s wedding. I hope the guy was just having an off day and this isn’t the first red flag for their chemistry together. I guess we’ll find out in another 2 weeks when the NBA’s preseason starts. Russ & LeBron are going to be fun to watch together. I don’t think LeBron has ever had a more talented teammate.
7546  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden devolved on: September 19, 2021, 09:44:32 AM
I thought having a President with dementia would be more entertaining than this. Sure, at first the videos of him wandering around lost on the White House lawn and calling his kid by the wrong name while forgetting what they do was comical. Once American lives started being lost it became much less entertaining. I may have underestimated the damage a President can do who was elected just because he wasn’t the other guy.
7547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 19, 2021, 01:20:03 AM
I’m over McGregor. His antics were fun while they lasted but he can’t win a fight anymore so they’re becoming extremely stale. I’ve moved on to watching Suga and more recently Paddy. Would love to see the two of them square off. Paddy’s style is exciting and he’s an odd fellow. I hope he’s able to stick around and keep winning fights for a while.
7548  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Where did all the OG collectors go? on: September 18, 2021, 08:08:02 PM
I am highly skeptical of NFTs.  Personally I think NFT's for things like marriage licenses, birth certificates, etc are a great way to store those types of things, but when it comes to art or trading cards etc, color me extremely leery.  My personal prediction is that the majority of their values will plummet eventually.  Charlie Lee and I were chatting about this kind of stuff the other day.  When the creator of Litecoin hates "collectible NFTs", makes you wonder.  I of course could be wrong, and I do think some NFTs are kinda cool and that some should retain their value over time, but how much is what worries me personally.  Just my 2 satoshis.

I think that the best use case for them right now would actually be tickets to events. Sports fans would I’m sure love to have a digital collection of events they’ve attended and knowing their tickets are legitimate, while it would allow events to profit from the secondary sales of tickets from scalpers. The fact that NFTs are doing so well and their main use case at the moment is profile pics on Twitter is pretty impressive.
7549  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [4+ EH] Lush Pool (lushpool.com); Overt AsicBoost; World Second Mining Pool on: September 18, 2021, 01:26:21 AM
Well there are clear and obvious links and proof of the facts in my post.
Clearly an inability to read must be involved in your comment.
When what you call a "legend" loses so much BTC for everyone mining on their pool, your definition of "legend" clearly has issues.

Someone once said, “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

You seem to be all over the place now. I guess I’m curious what you want to achieve here. Just tarnish slush’s reputation or are you seeking some sort of justice or a pat on the back for being better than everyone else? I’ll help. Good job Kano. You’ve run a pool for a long time and still take time to come here and participate at bitcointalk even though it likely isn’t worth your time to do so.
7550  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Where did all the OG collectors go? on: September 18, 2021, 12:34:19 AM
The collectors who want to be OGs these days should be looking into NFT collectibles. I think loaded coins are cool, but they’re a bridge from the physical into the digital world. NFTs are the next step off that bridge and into the metaverse. Some really cool things being done around the sandbox project. NFT communities also remind me of the early days here, with talented individuals passionate to work together in a positive environment to build cool things.

Where can we find NFT community's?

You can find NFT communities by finding a project you like and reading where they conjugate. Typically Discord is the accepted norm these days, and Twitter is another great place to find and link up with likeminded folks to discover where they are contributing to their community. I personally have a slack group where I do most of my discussion on crypto, development, investing, & of course NastyMining.
7551  Other / Meta / Re: New sub-board idea on: September 17, 2021, 11:57:30 PM
The thing is, this is basically a Bitcoin forum (Bitcointalk), so we expect the bulk of the discussion and suggestions to be more about Bitcoin, and since the admin has already allocated a board (altcoin discussion) for altcoin related discussions, it should be sufficient for anything pertaining to altcoins including NFT discussions, as it doesn't fall under the interest of many Bitcoin users on Bitcointalk.
I think what the OP means is for there to be a child board under the alt-coin discussion which is the mother board, where NFT can be discussed, and I think am in support of it, looking at the future, I think NFT would be part of it and many topics, Introduction, critics and discussion can come under the NFT that would be so large to be squeezed into the alt-coin discussion board alone, I have partook in so many NFT topics and it hasn't even been only on the alt-coin discussion board, so the NFT field is already a wide one and it will get wider, so an NFT child board under the alt-coin discussion is good.

Obviously it is a good idea and warranted as NFTs are the big talking point in crypto at the moment. I think it highlights an ever evolving crypto world outside of Bitcoin that isn’t necessarily wanted to be featured here. Maybe once Namecoin NFTs get their day in the sun it will bring some attention to things residing on Bitcoin’s blockchain and spur an NFT section here when that tech is a bit more mature and Bitcoin inclusive.
7552  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far can bitcoin price correction go? on: September 17, 2021, 11:43:07 PM
Some of the analysts I’ve been enjoying recently seem to think $43K is in the cards before we retest the highs at the end of October on the way to a December peak. I hate to be a fractals guy all the time, but the perfect storm is aligning once again for things to play out exactly as expected for the third time. I’d be cautious if you’re thinking about investing for a deeper price correction.
7553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity Makes Major Push to Launch Bitcoin ETF on: September 17, 2021, 11:40:31 PM
I believe Fidelity wasn’t one of the futures based ETFs, right? If that recollection is accurate, I don’t believe Fidelity’s will be the first to be approved. Given the comments coming out of the SEC, they seem much more open to a futures based ETF, and a handful were immediately submitted after the futures comments from the SEC. I’d say one of them being approved before the end of the year is more likely.
7554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Common NFT scams and phony Telegram supports on: September 17, 2021, 11:36:36 PM
The NFT world is a dangerous place. I never thought I would become familiar with using Twitter audits or evaluating the originality of digital artwork. There really is a lot of ways developers can screw people with NFTs, so I guess my advice would be to stay away from small projects making big promises and look for developers who are pioneering new ideas. DAOs, staking, royalties… These are ideas the big boys are still implementing, so if a small project pops out if nowhere claiming they’re going to do it, maybe don’t be quick to take them at their word. NFT rug pulls are devastating because the NFT images don’t reside on the blockchain and can be ‘disappeared’ at any time by their developers.

7556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 17, 2021, 07:51:00 PM
That's one great example why the Nets should trade him, antics like that outside the court and then the Nike shoe comment. If it's not going to be healthy for his team mates, specially Durant and Harden then he should let go of him. Again, for me Durant + Harden could be enough to bring the Nets to the championship stage. They can't totally rely on Irving now, trade him for other good PG and then some players.

They can't just trade Kyrie Irving. He still has 2 years left in the contract that amounting to a decent value.

In the upcoming season, as per my research on the web, Irving will earn a base salary of $34,916,200 and an incentive bonus of $412,500. No teams will afford to risk that amount for Kyrie now.

The best thing to do for the Nets is, if they can still tolerate him, wait for next season as Irving will have his player option. It's good to decide coming from Irving itself that he won't play for the Nets.

The problem with that is if they let him play for them this year he will not only be a distraction, but he’s gonna leave anyway since there’s bad blood now. So they trade him now, or lose one of their top assets for nothing. I’d say fuck it and trade him if I owned the team. Let him retire. NBA owners need to stop letting these millionaires take advantage of them. Kyrie signed a deal without a trade clause. Teach him a lesson. It’s a business…
7557  Economy / Reputation / Re: BADecker is one of the most dedicated and successful trolls on the forum on: September 17, 2021, 07:47:36 PM
I hope he’s a troll. The other option would be that he’s batshit crazy. I appreciate he’s one of the few users here not afraid to speak out against the whiny Karen liberal crowd knowing he’ll be trolled forever by the thin skinned crybabies. If people think he’s serious, it’s a bad look since a lot of what he posts would make a tinfoil hat wearer blush.
7558  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [4+ EH] Slush Pool (slushpool.com); Overt AsicBoost; World First Mining Pool on: September 17, 2021, 07:41:25 PM
Seems like this is taking cheap shots at slush's legacy to come and make this argument more than 10 years after this claim has been accepted by the community.

Kano owns a mining pool so chances are this "shot" is biased, he has problems with almost all pools except his, he claims that some of them have bad code, some have bad owners and the rest don't have good resources and a lot more points he always has to say to any other mining pool.

I’m aware. That’s why I was pointing it out for people who might not be aware of the type of person Kano is. He thinks tearing down others elevates himself. It’s a pretty typical attitude for someone with self esteem issues. I just hate seeing him target a legend like slush who is a Bitcoin mining pioneer.
7559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: September 17, 2021, 10:12:18 AM
Large companies are stepping up to the plate these days with an accumulate only mentality. All the market needs is for Amazon or Apple to enter the space and it’s game over for bears. Microstrategy & Coinbase are showing no signs of slowing down in their accumulation and once Tesla starts accepting it again or an ETF is approved we will see a fomo squeeze to new highs… So many roads to $200K… Which will we take?
7560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: September 17, 2021, 10:08:43 AM
Young investors nowadays think they are entitled to >100% annual returns. They have no concept of the real returns traditional investments offer and have insane expectations that will lead them to ever increasing risk reward scenarios that will ultimately leave them losing money. Crypto is a once in a lifetime type of investment. I worry about the disappointment awaiting young investors once this asset class is done rising unsustainably.
