7542  Economy / Lending / Re: Stablecoin lending. - Available Worldwide. on: June 18, 2022, 02:14:26 PM
a) 100% collateral. Example: If required loan is 100 USD, collateral must be 200 USD.
b) Collateral must be in the same stablecoin loan is given. No altcoins. USDT loan, USDT collateral. USDC loan, USDC collateral etc.
So: someone gives you $200 collateral. Out of that $100, you give him $100 as a loan. Then he has to pay you back $120, after which you give him $200 again?
You're either really dumb or really smart. Why would anyone pay you to be able to use half of their own money? I've seen a similar scheme before, and I can't figure out why.
7543  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitlucy withdrawal problem, does this acceptable? on: June 18, 2022, 02:05:27 PM
I have only 4 users filled out the form even after PMing some of the users I found on the ANN thread. I am going to extend the form more few days before I close it since this was not the number I was expecting. If anyone is still missed it then I would request others to find them the form.
If the casino's website is down, would it be possible to announce this Google form there? I can imagine many users who find an offline website don't know they have to look here.
7544  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Blacklist] of unreliable, 'taint proclaiming' Bitcoin services / exchanges on: June 18, 2022, 12:15:18 PM
Okay; so because I didn't buy via KYC exchange in the first place (therefore 'not traceable in my name'), they'll ask more questions compared to another sale and may / may not steal my fiat money?
One of the things they check is indeed if you sent money to a centralized exchange In the past.

Quote
Then I guess a P2P (cash in hand) trade of those BTC might be possible or otherwise a direct sale for BTC. In that case you will be sure not to get anything stolen from you and as long as your tax documents are fine, there won't be issues on that front either.
Unless you decide you want to deposit the cash (in a large amount) to your bank again.

Quote
That's because the bank has liabilities / duties to the country it operates in and a registered exchange (company) is an easy / no headache source of funds for them, right?
The banks just tries to cover their asses, especially after the huge fines they've had recently for not doing enough against money laundering. Even though, as far as I know, those fines were based on fiat money laundering.
7545  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Blacklist] of unreliable, 'taint proclaiming' Bitcoin services / exchanges on: June 18, 2022, 11:56:56 AM
You're saying if I sell 1BTC on Bisq and I suddenly get $20,000 via bank transfer, which on other days doesn't happen too often, the bank is going to ask questions?
Yep. It may vary per country, but I'd expect a letter asking many questions (just shy of the color of my underware).

Quote
I mean, you could just reply to those questions honestly and say you bought BTC at a certain earlier point in time and sold it online. I don't think it would be a big issue
They'll also ask for a copy of your taxes, including your savings at other banks. Privacy? Lol. If you don't like it, they'll close your account.

Quote
it's going to be similar to buying (or selling) another expensive item like a car.
Not really: the car is traceable in your name.

Quote
If you're in a country that has property tax (I believe such as LoyceV), and plan to sell it for fiat in the future, make sure to tell them yearly how much BTC you own (denominated in fiat) and you can hold it anonymously (no need to hand public keys or anything like that) without problems.
I think the proper term in English is a wealth tax, but indeed, filing it and paying your annual taxes avoids jail time if you ever buy a jet or something.

Quote
Then, when the day comes that you're selling it all on Bisq, there shouldn't be any issues. Since they can go back and see that you always declared ownership of them and paid your taxes on them.
You'll be fine, as long as you answer all privacy invading questions your bank asks.

Quote
In general I don't think using a centralized exchange to do something illegal in your country, is going to make it legal. If you follow your laws in the first place, you can pretty surely sell P2P without worries.
From what I've seen, using an established exchange makes the bank "easier" because they know at least the other party isn't a criminal. Now let's say you sell 1 BTC and receive $20,000 tainted dollars P2P. Then what?

may I quote you?
I noticed the negative feedback from 2 DT-accounts yesterday. I don't think I've seen something like this before, and I don't think this is how the Trust system is supposed to be used. One person should not give someone positive or negative feedback from more than one account, as it leads to 2 positive or -2 negative on the user's profile.
A simple solution would be if hilariousandco uses hilariousetc for all feedbacks on your account.
We've been over this: feedback is different than in/exclusions.
7547  Economy / Reputation / Re: [great drama] Timelord2067's "homophobic" Trust abuse on hilariousandco/etc on: June 18, 2022, 11:25:55 AM
This is about something that happened nearly two years ago.
Timelord2067 didn't reach DT until recently.

Quote
Pro-tip -- don't go digging about things that have happened years ago, and attempt to litigate them today. By now, many people have seen the ratings in question and have had the opportunity to react appropriately.
So you're saying I should just exclude him? I was trying to not need that.

7549  Economy / Reputation / [great drama] Timelord2067's "homophobic" Trust abuse on hilariousandco/etc on: June 18, 2022, 10:54:58 AM
On 2020-08-26, Timelord2067 gave hilariousandco, hilariousetc and hilarious* this negative feedback (Reference link):
Quote
This user is engaging in homophobic hate speech against the wider LGBTIQQ community as evidenced in the referenced "satirical" thread. https://archive.vn/vgDQz

I now know why alts hilariousandco u=164822 / hilariousetc u=397737 / hilarious* u=1424594 are Trolling me with their constant threatening behavior.
Just recently, Timelord2067 reached DefaultTrust (again).

I think this is Trust abuse:
Negative (shown as -1)
  • If you believe someone is a scammer, or someone is likely to scam, that deserves negative feedback. Please provide evidence.
  • If you really hate someone and he's a terrible troll, that does not deserve negative feedback.

"The forum" shows this is Trust abuse as it has nothing to do with trade risks:
New feedback loading...

Theymos thinks this is Trust abuse:
The system is for handling trade risk, not for flagging people for good/bad posts/personalities/ideas.

Negative feedback isn't your diary.

Now why this topic, I hear you ask? And why not just add Timelord2067 to my list of Trust exclusions? Because I like some/many of the feedbacks he sent! If only he'd omit the diary part, the remainder could be useful.
It also helps I'm currently not on DT1, and Timelord2067's DT2-strength is (1). That means he'll need 2 Trust exclusions to be removed from DT2. I'll exclude him if this feedback is still negative by the time I win the DT1 lottery again.

My earlier more subtle attempts didn't help:
I'm surprised Timelord2067 is on DT again. That's a good moment to clean up bad ratings made in the past, and this is one of them.
@Timelord2067: what's with the trust abuse on hilariousandalt?
The system is for handling trade risk, not for flagging people for good/bad posts/personalities/ideas.
It's ironic Timelord2067 accuses hilariousetc of Trust abuse.
7550  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT1 and DT2 members who have negative feedback (or are banned) on: June 18, 2022, 10:20:33 AM
Two Alts engaged in DT trust abuse:
I don't think this is something to worry about: hilariousetc has no inclusions, so won't reach DT1. it's on DT2, but exclusions on that depth don't influence the rest of the DT-system.
Quote
Trust list for: hilariousetc (Trust: +4 / =2 / -1) (2168 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP) (created 2022-06-18_Sat_05.13h)
Back to index

hilariousetc Trusts these users' judgement:
-

hilariousetc Distrusts these users' judgement:
1. NEW ~Timelord2067 (Trust: +12 / =11 / -1) (904 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP)
It just means hilarious doesn't want to see your feedback from his "etc" account. It might influence the trust ratings as seen by the users who included hilariousetc on their Trust lists, but those users are experienced enough to remove the inclusion if they don't want this.

I think this discussion fits better in DefaultTrust changes.

I've said it before in another topic: you've reached DT1 now, and I think your negative feedback on hilariousandco (and alt accounts) is no correct use of the Trust system. Actually, it's Trust abuse. I'll dedicated a topic to this.

wolwoo
DT-members with negative strength aren't counted (by me). Wolwoo was at (-18) back then.

Quote
- the election algorithm may choose also users which have more exclusions than inclusions (from DT users), right?
The election has nothing to do with exclusions.

Quote
what happens with the users which have already more exclusions than inclusions (from other DT users)?
See Default trust breakdown, scroll all the way down.

Quote
Are they excluded from DT in the very first second after the algorithm chose them
Yes.

Quote
Therefore, when does this exclusion occur?
Instantly. The interesting part is that excluded DT1-members can still vote for other DT1-members (by including or excluding them) and adjust their DT1-strength. But they can't vote for DT2-members.

If I want to recover the wallet later on another computer using my 24 words is this a problem concerning gap limit?
No. But it may be a problem identifying each payment (the labels in your wallet won't be restored) and your privacy (each one of the 200 people who paid you can now see the 199 other payments that belong to you).

Proof it.

7558  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitlucy withdrawal problem, does this acceptable? on: June 17, 2022, 09:07:44 AM
I didn't see this Bitlucy drama until yesterday, when OP posted in Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! So I haven't read everything yet.

I just read through this guy's post history. What surprises me, is that Bitlucy was only online for a few days after registration, and didn't address any of the problems.
Running a casino is usually very profitable. "100% deposit bonuses" are usually designed to require enough wagering to make it EV- for the player. That means the casino should earn money, which means they don't have to scam users.
Not being able to withdraw $1000 makes it look like they're broke.

Did Bitlucy ever show proof of bankroll?

@Royse777: davidr_22 posted his withdrawal problem on May 25. Instead of addressing it, you started the Avatar campaign the next day.

No one is seeing anything that is happening inside bitlucy better than me but everyone is speculating from their own views and making it as guaranteed. It's not wrong either. I was doing the same before.
Obviously we can only see what happens in public, and what I see doesn't look good.

Quote
I have been with this community from long enough that I don't need to prove myself to others too
In my country we have a saying, which roughly translates to "trust comes on foot and goes on horseback".  We always have to prove ourselves all the time, because a reputation that took years to build can be destroyed in hours.

Quote
I am still with BitLucy and will work for it's future as long as I see their development and passion to achieve their vision. They have their problems but they are not less interested to solve all of it either.
It doesn't look like they're interested in fixing problems when you say they cut all ties with Bitcointalk. Sure, Bitcointalk can be hostile, but in this case it looks like it's deserved.

Quote
Rest assure if ever I find myself in a convincing situations that should not continue with BitLucy anymore then I will not hesitate to cut off all stings from them.
Can you comment on the one withdrawal issue I cherry-picked above?

I don't think he's going to find this topic.

Quote
The form will be closed after 17th.
That's not much time for users to find this form, especially if their problem was ignored for weeks and was only linked in the OP of the main thread one day before the deadline.

I would request you to request a new withdrawal since we had to cancel all past request while we had withdrawal system updated.
This is a terrible excuse to delay withdrawals. If you update software, at least process or transfer the existing withdrawal requests.

I am not going to support any flags against you, but you are not giving much arguments for people to oppose it
I feel the same.

Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I can think that she somewhat got caught in the middle of this.
This is always the risk of "lending" your reputation to promote something.

If they're truely willing to resolve all problems, I'd say the way to do this is by giving full transparency. Start by providing proof of funds, create a public list of all complains, and resolve them. All this doesn't have to take more than a day.

Loycepup's Coin Cycling Club.
"Cycling Club" as a name for a mixing service does sound cool.  Tongue
CoinCycling.Club is available! Temping, but I don't think I'll have the time to figure it all out.
7560  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What software exists to run a CoinJoin server? [Wasabi debacle] on: June 16, 2022, 11:32:27 AM
Discussion on how to make such CJ software work for Wasabi (as well as the other way around) is also welcomed. Special attention should be given to getting these to run on low-powered Linux servers (think 8GB of memory or less).
I like the idea, and I happen to have a (donated) dedicated Xeon server with 16 GB that's mainly idling.

I'm thinking of names: Loycabi? NotACoinJoin? CoinJoinAnything? TaintThis?

I'm still not going to use a wallet which is run by a team who are willing to voluntarily sell out their users for profits.
My favourite mobile wallet sold out advertising a scam, my favourite Blockchair website does it too. It sucks, but money makes loyalties flexible.

Darn it. I completely forgot about liquidity.
Would this be something we, as a community, could provide? Say we start with one CoinJoin transaction per week, on a fixed time. So anyone willing to join can plan their transaction as long as they're not in a rush.
