7561  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 265 blocks solved! on: April 16, 2022, 01:33:31 PM
It is picking up the hub as I can plug a keyboard and mouse into it and they both work, its just not the Newpacs....

Do 1 new pac and see if it works the hub may not handle 5.

If that does not work go to the new pac thread and ask there.
7562  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 265 blocks solved! on: April 16, 2022, 12:43:10 PM
I am happily solomining away on 4.11.1 with my windows PC but I am really struggling with getting it to work with my pi... I have bought powered USB 'hats' but it never seems to find my miners (4 x Newpacs) even with using the same powered hub that works fine with Windows.

Has anybody created a Pi image to install straight from Pi imager?

I have seen preconfigured sdcards on Ebay but for the price they are charging - I am a poor disabled student and don't think my kidneys are worth enough to cover the cost!

I have trawled this forum for suggestions but I think I just make it worse!

Install your Pi OS (assuming Raspbian) following the normal instructions. Then you can follow these steps: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5355470.msg58200639#msg58200639

Those will clone cgminer from github, compile it, and the version in the Ferrari thread will also find and support previous generation Gekko devices.

Many thanks, cgminer is now working.. it now won't see any of my miners. I have a high-power hub plugged into a usb3 port on the pi.

screen shot the cgminer screen so we can see it. it will give us an idea of what is wrong.

Pure curiosity, what's the amount of power that can be extracted from one well, I gues it comes to the size of it but in short something between x and y? I've read that all of it could generate 400 billions kwh, pretty sure they've said billions of kwh to make it look bigger, Twh wouldn't have sounded that impressive, but how much can one provide?

As for the difficulty, - 1.26 %, could have been better but still nice to see some compensation for the below 40k scare.

Bitcoin miners unmoved by low profits as hash rate grows for the 10th consecutive month
Ana Nicenko 3 hours ago 2 mins read

Guess it's time for Ana to search for a new job.. Wink

clue less writing.  a s17 set to lowest power draw on vnish does 38th at 960watts or 25 kwatts a day at 10 cents that is $2.50 in power it earns about $6.84 or net $4.34

at 5 cent power it burns $1.25 or net $5.59

if al you have is 30 s17's all paid off  and 5 cent power you are making $167.70 daily profit. in 50 days you can add an s19 so 30 x 38 = 1140 th and add 110 very 50 days. by years and you are at 7x100= 700th+1140th = 1840th

about 60% growth for your farm and fully paid off.  the growth in hash is bullish.  But we may be becoming like 2018 Time will tell.

A picture which speaks the true reality and thousands words if you are understanding how the hell idealogy of the people has changed over the years about bitcoin inspite of many talking shit about it knowing nothing:

The fees and speed issues are solved by the LN channels and bitcoin capacity is increasing day by day with increased adoption but still if you belong to that group of people saying btc is dead and will not surge then you are on the wrong planet and maybe when Musk will colonize Mars doge and shitcoins can be used  Grin

the fee issue has been a game of kick the can. The LN pushed the fee issue down the road and off a ramp in the miners lap.

We are yet to see what this will mean in 10 years you have

2024  3.125 coins
2028  1.5625 coins
2032  0.78125 coins

will BTC price rise bigly and kick the can to 2048?

But I agree that LN has kind of stopped the issue of high fees.

Frankly I think it is a fuck up and never should have been done. but that is just a guess.
7565  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining using Solar 3.0 on: April 15, 2022, 04:59:48 PM
this is from the link provided by the op.

...

"The materials are also not as stable once the cell has been created. They are subject to rigorous tests before they can be considered production level quality. The problem is that even if these cells pass the test initially, they did not behave as expected in the real world. They can decompose at high temperatures (>90 ºC). This can lead to hysteresis in materials, altering their electrical properties.
The longevity of perovskites is also in question. The lifetime of silicon cell solar panels last about 20–25 years (data from the US EPA). Thus, manufacturers give consumers a 25 year warranty on solar panels. The problem with perovskites is that they are sensitive to moisture, oxygen and heat. Thus, they need more protection from the elements in order to last longer. Unfortunately, that could increase production costs.
Over time, it will reveal whether it can be a viable product. We have had decades of use from silicon solar cells. It is tried and tested, but does not produce as much power due to inefficiencies. However, they are quite stable and can be produced for mass consumption."

BASICALLY you may go from 20% to 30% efficient = very good

but the environmental cost = bad due to use of lead.

Real promise for these would be if gold was dirt cheap as gold would be great for this item maybe getting as high as 38% efficient .

400 watt panels are available if these came out in lead they would be about 600 watt panels.

if they came out in gold they would push 800 watt panels. 800 watt panels would be very good.

now cheap gold may be coming as NASA is looking at the golden asteroid in space.

it supposedly has so much gold we could use it for car batteries and power lines.

nice to think that things could get better rather than worse.

I mean a NFT that represents a real world asset is sorta more interesting......

Is it now?

Here is my NFT for sale for a 1000g gold bar. I'll even sell it to for 20% off of spot price....

I think your missing the point.  Nft as a public register for land/property etc can be very useful

No, it can't. Just saying that doesn't make it true.

Because a legal property deed is legally binding and can be defended in a court of law.

An NFT is not "useful". At all. Period. It does not give the owner any exclusive legal rights to the thing it points to, and cannot be legally defended in a court of law.

If anyone is missing the point, it is not me.

Andy Warhol and his campbell soup series was the grandfather of nfts he mus be laugh 😹 ing in his grave.

Are you guys aware that the PoS merge has been postponed? This is good news, those that invested in graphic cards in January of the year can make most of their money back by December, I believe that merge isn't coming this year,  Grin enjoy the last stage of ETH mining felllas.

and where did you find this info?

With just 10 pieces of 3090s you are already at 1GH on the Ethash algorithm, why aren't people doing this instead of having so many GPUs around, taking so much space and having to use more risers and more motherboard, why are people not going this way?.

I have 2x 8 card 3090 cases.

I have a 3rd case.

use this case

Ten hut!

5 years in a US prison is a vacation compared to this: ~

Riiight.
Is that how you got prodemoted to here? Quantanamo? Do you enjoy torture? Bitch?

About that though. Could it be, that the poor chap got suicided from one of your colleagues?
Maybe North Korea is not that bad after all. Compared to the US that is bitch.

Oh and are BTC maximalists still a thing? I thought they all died.

Bitcoin maximalism is the future - not the past, yo.

They did. You're obviously in the "shitcoin price movement tracking & discussion" thread.

You know bitch, I get it why you hate the WO so much.
Because you cannot censor it. That Sway Star bitch was all about that too. No?

Kudos to theymos.

Fish and beef flavor cola?

Nah, cockroach & such moons pussy flavour.

Your strawman is adorable though.

Don’t get me wrong honey, but I really really really want to fuck some sense into your brains. Brrr. Not.

Covid update.  Tested neg today.

Repeat after me: “Nobody gives a fuck about your COVID cunt”.
1000 times on paper boyo. Get on it, pronto.

Helping Kim to obtain one would still likely land you in prison.

Why is that? Elaborate bitch. It’s an order.

Your "arguing" is at or below the level of other rainforest shitcointourists here, which is basically a stream of loosely connected fallacies and random insults.

No teeth bitch. Use your lips and learn to swallow.

suchmoon - gets it.

NOT.
And neither do you. Ever.

I think your missing the point.  Nft as a public register for land/property etc can be very useful

Nah, you are definitely missing the point.
You need to take your ass out of here, and take all the lying cunts with ya.

It won't work. First, to have real meaning in the real world, it needs a government system. If they for instance replace the DMV by an Nft, I bet many people will lose their keys and with that lose ownership of their car. The same will happen to properties: if you lose your backup, you lose your house!

So, you’re the colleague or what?
Do you fuck suchmoon in the skull? Answer me. This is also an order.

My point is there is a right way, and a dumb way to do things.  I do not think we have seen the actual utility that the NFT concept provides.  But it took a while with tokens, too.

Can you spare me the melodrama? Please. I’m nauseating.

I will never give up!

Don’t bet on it.

Agreed.

+2 BoD

The name was indeed rooted in doge memes. I mined dogecoin and the time. That's how I made my first bitcoins and ended up on this forum. Please forgive me my youthful shitcoining.

I do not forgive, I do not forget. <— Hey, wait. Your colleagues too?

I'm still mining shitcoins for bitcoins but don't tell anyone

Nah, philipma will make sure he reminds us all. Every.single.time
He is my favourite “tilt account”.

But at least I'm not shilling ETH-NFT-DEFI-ICO in WO.

Oh noes. You’re doing something much much worse.

At ease. Dismissed.

777th post.

I wish my merit was 666, would have been a really cool number but it's alright.
Had something going on in my mind and wanted to share, I think am addicted to WO.

Till the beginning of 2022, I didn't cared much about it however the only reason I come back to this forum is this particular thread.
I mean, infofront if you are reading this post, you are a legend. Thanks for creating such a piece of history.

I was sorta free this evening and decided to randomly scroll older posts in WO and there is so much stored in this one single thread which isn't available on any website related to Bitcoin on this internet.

For example this post of 2013, when the market cap reached $2B.
Blockchained is well past $2B at this point.  More like $2.2B.  There's more money around now than before the crash... Whaaa?!

And this, the first reply to WO when BTC was at $69
Wall post!

Blessed to be part of WO. I am sure people will look back to our posts one day.
I love the feedback, criticism and suggestions which I get it here.  Cheesy
do not post no one merit him please wait a minute

here is original almond flour pizza dough

As a GF Celiac, I am very familiar with these ingredients (should all be 8n the cupboard right now) and greatly appreciate this recipe.
BTW my post earlier was not intended to express a lack of protein,  just trying to divert any chance of befouling good Mater Soup with chunks... and I'm nearly always pro-Bacon!
So yea, have my last Merit! Thanks for the recipe!

some merit for you.

also if it dawns on anyone to make pizza crust it will do a 12 inch pizza pan.

grease the pan with avocado oil spread the  dough , toast it a bit till it is light brown.

then lay multiple slices of good cheese no cheap crap. and use the same tomato starter i mention.

i lay fresh  basil and good meats over that and the pizza is damn good. the trick is learning how much to brown the crust so that when you add the cheeses and tomato you do not sog out the crust.

While I have lived in NY and NJ most of life and have had really good pizza (unhealthy style flour crusts )

these home made almond based pizza are fucking good really good.
7576  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2022 Diff thread. on: April 14, 2022, 12:07:35 AM
Slight drop, the drop is the price is a bit more serious so it won't balance things but it's again the same back and forth.
Looking at profitability we're back to something around earlier February, and I'm still surprised the hashrate is not moving again up, probably it's not as much as the BTC price but the increase one electricity costs.
I'm still wondering who would be willing to sell large miners energy at 2-3 cents with the current tariffs and fuel costs.

Hopefully, we go flat till the next Bitmain batch delivery, it should be early May if I recall correctly.

As for the video cards price, I really expect a price drop, especially in the used market, ETH makes the biggest chunk of rewards a day, there is simply no coin that would be able to provide the miners with the same revenue or even half of it. If Buttercup could be trusted about the dates when it plans to be doing something every smart guy would be willing to sell those before the actual switch.
Lol, check the prices here in Europe, it's 1689, but Euros.

here is original almond flour pizza dough

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/242467/almond-flour-pizza-crust/

Ingredient Checklist
2 ¼ cups King Arthur Almond Flour
2 tablespoons King Arthur Coconut Flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (Optional)
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
3 large eggs
2 tablespoons olive oil
ADD ALL INGREDIENTS TO SHOPPING LIST

we use 1.5 cups red mill almond flour
himalayan red salt
1 large egg
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 chunk of coconut unprocessed oil comes in a mason jar and it some what hard like butter

makes a thin crust  and it is pretty carb free say 28%  net carb  by gram weight while white flour is 71% net carb by gram weight

add the egg with its 7 grams of protein
and the pat of coconut oil the almond flour crust is far better than white flour pizza crust.

and you can use this item below to start the tomato soup
the soup should be good with tomatoes and heavy cream.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JQC7VHS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?

only 2 ingredients in the tomatoes above . salt and tomato.

so a jar is 36 net carbs and low salt add the heavy cream and play with spices to taste.

add one 24 oz jar and 8 oz heavy cream .  cook with a slow low flame add the cream slowly
7578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 13, 2022, 09:37:29 PM
First off you guys inspired me.

I am going to make that tomato soup. with the heavy cream. (thank god I have good cholesterol )

I am going to talk the wife into making her almond flour based pizza dough

And I will use four cheese's brie,jarlsberg,mozzerella,cheddar

Her almond flour based pizza dough also makes a knock out cracker.

Some black coffee and a nice feast for us.

I will post her pizza dough recipe. tomorrow. It is more like a thin crust crispy pizza dough or a matzo but it is one of the few subsitutes for bread crackers or matzo that tastes really good and has a nice texture.

For more protein (and possibly animal fat - which is good for you) maybe add some fatty ground beef to it  (which would be an attempt to lower the percentage of carbohydrates - of course, cheese is not completely carbohydrates - and yeah, I like the idea of heavy whipping cream rather than water or regular milk)?  Though adding too many other ingredients might end up messing up the whole taste profile?  Think about it:  little pieces of ground beef floating around.. sounds good to me, but I admit it might not be the same experience as the more pure tomato soup play.

NOOO!!!
Blasphemy!!!
Leave the CHUNKS out of the Creamy Cheez Dippin goodness that is Mater Soup!
But if you want to add some protein, can't go wrong with a couple slices of crisp bacon on them fried sammies...

You realize almond flour has protein and the cheeses I listed do not have many carbs if any.

I have to find the recipe for the pizza dough.
