761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin teaching approach on: May 08, 2022, 05:04:45 AM
I think it will be bitcoin would fit in well if you were an economics teacher. You can talk to the economics teacher at your school if he/she is interested in introducing bitcoin as a currency in her class, but then again if the teacher doesn’t understand what bitcoin is, there may be misleading information taught to the students. A better idea would be for you to be invited to speak to the class.

Teaching a subject is not necessarily because someone studied it in school. It is a matter of passion. Anyone can teach bitcoin provided they have the passion for it and know it. The op has been here a long time to know how to relate the basics of bitcoin to outsiders. I have read his posts in the past and I know it will not be a problem downloading what he knows to the high school students. It is not a difficult thing to do.

Topic: Old Nigeria Currencies Till date

After our Independency, the west Africa old notes were removed form circulation and our first coins and bank notes were created , much didn't change till now except for the coins that were withdrawn from circulation and changes  in some of Nigeria Bank notes from paper to polymer(#5,#10, #20 and #50). I didn't include the New notes because everyone here should be familiar with the polymer currencies and there is much difference between the old and the New, its just the texture designed and size. The Nigeria coins were discarded and withdrwans because they lack value, they couldn't buy anything in the society due to inflation just like the way #5 is no longer doing anything good in circulation.

You don prove your name say you know how to cook data well well. Nice one baba. You do your research well. But I also know say there was a time when Central Bank of Nigeria bring back coins in the early 90s. I know of the N1 coin. Na paper note before government turn am to note. The thing heavy for pocket no be small and I believe say na wetin make the thing no last because people no deh like accept am. Na so the thing go they make noise for pocket if you carry am deh run as small pikin that time. Government quickly withdraw am.
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russians collectively hold about $130b in crypto on: May 08, 2022, 03:51:30 AM
I do not think it is true. It is a rumor.
Think again, its true.

Binance said Polina Kovaleva, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s stepdaughter, and Elizaveta Peskova, President Vladimir Putin’s representative Dmitry Peskov’s daughter, were among those barred over the last two months.
The cryptocurrency exchange also said that it had blocked Kirill Malofeyev, the son of Konstantin Malofeyev, a Russian oligarch previously charged with violating US sanctions.

This is bad indeed. It is like visiting the sins of the parents on the children. These children may not be in support of what their parents are doing. They may even have hated Putin because of the war he caused but they are now here being punished for what they hate. The damage Putin has caused with this war is very devastating. Putin should be made to suffer all this and not innocent people associated with him by blood or job. Also all this is not good for the image of Binance. They are going to lose customers because of invasion of privacy.
764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: World Cup Groups. on: May 07, 2022, 08:09:54 PM
I don't see why nigeria fan should behave that way, game is about a winner and who lose and not a do or die affair.

It is the same hooliganism and poor attitude we see in the Nigeria local league, the NPFL where fans and home teams beat up visiting teams and match officials. There is a popular sports presenter in the country who calls the league The Nigeria Katakata League because of the weekly misbehaviors that is now constant. It is a shame that fans behave like football is no longer a fun thing but a do or die affair. Although Nigeria is not the only country punished by FIFA for misbehaviour during the Qatar 2022 world cup qualifiers. There are many others.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 07, 2022, 04:53:41 PM
Man is an animal, only that he is a higher animal. All big mammals have the same internal organs like man and this organs carry out the same functions in both man and animals. Anything that causes a horse stroke will also cause a man stroke long ago because horses are stronger than man.

It should be backed by science stroke on human is very much different in some way from horses, human develop it over time because of abuse on what he eats and what he thinks, horses are made to run, if it's a different animal race where the nature of them is not to run like monkey or turtle then it can develop depression on these animals.

I will like to read the research done by science on this as you claim. Please do put the link. From the little I know it is over stress that causes stroke in humans and not necessary what we eat. If animals are stressed too they can develop it. That horses can run does not mean they can do that without stress when they have loads on them. Carrying a human and running for a horse is load. It is not the same thing when they have to run without anything on their backs. That is what am saying.
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russians collectively hold about $130b in crypto on: May 07, 2022, 03:21:21 PM
I think that due to the large-scale war unleashed by Russia in the center of Europe, its already obvious military defeat in Ukraine, the application of harsh international sanctions and the need to pay Ukraine the material damage caused by this war, the cryptocurrency reserves of Russian citizens will begin to decline rapidly.

The death toll from this war on both sides is what sanctions can not bring back to life, no matter how severe the sanctions are going to be. Putin must face genocide persecution if he escapes being killed in the war.

And just a while ago, I have also read a post saying that binance has also went and took this banning thing a bit further by banning some relatives of Russian people that they can find despite it having nothing to do or not even being in the country of Russia instead.

How is that possible? How will Binance know accounts of Russian relatives? Or did this ones submit next of kin to Binance on opening the accounts? I do not think it is true. It is a rumor.
767  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 07, 2022, 02:21:55 PM
Abeg, if you know anybody weh still dey school make una tell them to develop the mindset of being self employed. E get why.

Everybody no fit be self-employed na. Some people actually wan read book, graduate, work for company.

Sha just tell them first. Because na people like that people deh tell good morning for evening. By the time them know wetin deh happen frustration go don rub them everywhere. 9ja na real tough place to survive.

The AON (airline operators of Nigeria) have announced that there is going to be a shut down of domestic flights from Monday, 9th of May 2022, due to the hike in the price of aviation fuel.

Shebi they increased the fare the other time. They should go ahead and increase it again na, why trying to shut it down. Increase it, let only those who can afford it continue. This sitting national assembly is the worst in history. They can not do anything. Nothing at all. Not even question any ministry or parastatals or president Buhari self. I miss the Kenn Nnamani and Bukola Senate. If na those ones Buhari for deh hot seat by now.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Looks like markets are crashing ! this is it ...it's the big one ! on: May 07, 2022, 05:24:15 AM
The charts for 1930 and 2022 looks very similar ...to similar

Also governments are printing money and buying stocks to fake growing economy

It is too far to compare 1930 to 2022 charts. It is not logical at all if anything. It is crypto and bitcoin market we are talking about here and we know bitcoin was never there in 1930. Any comparison involving the stock market at that time and now should not be taken as accurate. It will be misleading. I have checked the two charts and they do not look identical. I do not in any way see the need for that comparison.
769  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice for poor people who wanna get some crypto on: May 07, 2022, 04:22:49 AM
In terms of signature and bounty campaigns, there are still lots of them that coming. In fact the situation of bounties right now are much better than before because most bounties now pays stable coins, bnb and other known altcoins. More projects are now also forced to use an escrow so that scams are going to be minimized. They are still perfect for those who want to earn free cryptos.

Are you talking about signature campaigns? For that is true there but not in bounties. Can you show us how many bounties that pays with stable coins and not their own coins? Bounties of today are still not good examples of things going well. There are alot of them still not credible and do not like using escrows. Both of us are in the Gamdom campaign and that is signature campaign, not bounty in case you do not know. Hope you are not counting it as one.
770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 07, 2022, 04:03:12 AM
It is not true. Stroke is a sign of ill health and does not happen when you are healthy. Another thing you can not be sure if is how well those horse owners who use them for sports take care of them. You are assuming they should be taking good care of their horses because of the money they make from them and you forget that some people do not care about the tools of their work but how much they make from them. Maybe this is what happens in horse racing too.

I am not expert but we are not sure if the stroke to people is different from the animals but I think if the horse is healthy it will not going to die during the race but we are really not sure the reason if the animal really do have that problem or it is because of too much training or the vitamins they give to the horse.

Man is an animal, only that he is a higher animal. All big mammals have the same internal organs like man and this organs carry out the same functions in both man and animals. Anything that causes a horse stroke will also cause a man stroke long ago because horses are stronger than man. Some of the animals may be healthy before the race but can develop illness during the race like it also the same with man. Have you not seen people slump and die because they develop cardiac arrest? These are people who were healthy before leaving their homes and yet it happens to them.
771  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 06, 2022, 10:16:44 PM
I hear say federal government don approve the funds for tertiary institutions today. The strike don too tay shuu govt nor wan shake leg since. Make them allow the students go back to finish make them finish their courses go face life for outside. 4 years course don turn 5 years because of ASUU strike

ASUU no make sense. Make them and federal government of Nigeria go rest for once self. School no be the one weh people go come out from after many years and come begin waka up and down for several years in search of job and shoe go come chop. At the end self how much weh them deh pay if na entry level for government work. Level 8 weh be entry position for government work salary na N55,000 monthly. Abeg, if you know anybody weh still dey school make una tell them to develop the mindset of being self employed. E get why.
772  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 06, 2022, 08:11:37 PM
E depends on the kind personality you be shaa, but even of Satoshi appear here today I go still talk am for him face.
Make both crypto and naira co-exist,  na em be true definition of liberty. I no fit stand up say wetin one boy wey I no know where him from create come kill wetin the whole country get.

Baba this matter never reach quarrel na. E never reach to drag personality enter the matter o. We are only trying to talk wetin deh ground. No vex for me if to say my comment do you somehow for body. E get better thing weh you talk concerning say make both crypto and naira deh co-exist, na true be that and I no think anybody go say na lie. For crypto to survive for 9ja naira must stand side by side with am.
773  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 06, 2022, 01:43:38 PM

My point is, are you buying dipper or taking a loss in order to enjoy your life?

Me: I sold my ADA at a loss to enjoy life because it's been a difficult year!!

Baba you go feel bad about selling your ADA in loss o in few months to come when everything stew again. Na so we deh see this type of thing, no be today e deh happen. I still deh hold. I no want to sell now.

Copyright rules in Nigeria is not as strict as it is in other countries, you barely see people penalize for it so I see reason why most students photocopy textbooks.

Na so. Make we imagine say the way this forum deh take handle copyright issue na so 9ja deh take handle its own copyright issue, everywhere for don catch fire and people go sit up fast fast.
774  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP ] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: May 06, 2022, 11:56:43 AM
No open slots, no. We selected the ones from our pool of applicants.

That is better decision than opening vacancies again and making users go through tension and you go through stress of selection. Maybe other big signature campaigns can learn this method. Choosing from old applications is good.
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 06, 2022, 09:12:33 AM
Stroke are still happening even if you are healthy, I know horses that are into racing are being taking care of because there’s a lot of money involve on this and the owner of the horse will not put his horse in a race if he knows it is not fit for that,

776  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 06, 2022, 08:54:14 AM
example, consider the Bitcoin whitepaper. Sotoshi used his knowledge from other failed electronic currencies in the past to build bitcoin, and he also mentioned them in the whitepaper...

No man be island ooo

Correct talk. If authors them begin go the way of NFT it will put a stamp and end to continuation or revised edition to written works. E no go good. And I agree with you on that say people often deh get ideas from the works weh others them do. If not because of that Satoshi for no fit push bitcoin establishment as e come be today. But I believe say in time to come some authors go want to try this NFT thing and once e pays off, others will follow up.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: May 06, 2022, 07:50:18 AM
Concern of illegal use of crypto?

Are we to stop here? Definitely No.

Concern of illegal use of hard drugs;
Concern of illegal use of fire arms;
Concern of illegal use of abortion pills;
Concern of money laundry by politicians;
Concern of environmental pollution by fossil vehicles;
Concern of deterioration of Ozone layer;
Concern of illegal use of internet;
Concern of illegal power consumption;
Concern of illegal minting of fiat;
And so much Concern.

There is also concern of illegal use of vaccine and no one is alarmed by that. Concern for illegal use coercion and we see that in what Russia is doing in Ukraine. My concern is for those who want to always make crypto look bad so they can discredit it. They have tried so hard enough a long time on this but have not been able to stop cryptos and it will continue to frustrate them.
778  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 05, 2022, 06:28:54 PM
No be so e go be if we understand crypto very well as against fiat. Nigeria case no follow for comparison because no be crypto deh crash naira. Na over dependence on importation deh weaken our naira. We always buy dollar or other foreign currencies to bring in goods here. Na the main thing weh deh cause our money to deh worthless.
If you read wetin I write carefully, you go understand say, I no talk say na crypto dey make Naira crash. Me I know why naira dey crash and your importation claim na one of them.

I understand wetin you put there and I used that opportunity to make that clarification clearer. Long talk no deh the matter unto that. But the main thing be say make we too no deh use our own hand deh spoil crypto like say na him deh cause 9ja problem for naira. Bad press follow for wetin deh spoil crypto and we no suppose deh help government condemn crypto when we know say na lie them deh talk.
779  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 05, 2022, 07:51:22 AM
Crypto go kill naira the more if adopted officially. Check majority of us wey sabi crypto no get fiat again. Only when we want buy something, we go convert coin to fiat and buy. This means that if crypto is officially adopted, naira utility will reduce drastically and will make the value of naira to further crash.

If government like make them completely kill bitcoin for Nigeria, the naira go continue to deh crash until importation is fixed. Na so them accuse Aboki FX say na them make dollar deh rise and closed their site. That was when dollar dey exchange around 450/$ self. Today we know how much exchange rate deh. This government no serious at all.
780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to invest in cryptocurrency on: May 04, 2022, 02:47:31 PM
Cryptocurrencies are one way or another a promising direction for investment. Another thing is that choosing the right asset for this can be difficult, and here the same lottery begins as with any other assets for investment.

You are correct and can say that because it is exactly what it has turned to now. Lottery is in most cases better because we do not have to pay to be in lottery apart from buying a product or service and get raffle tickets for them without seriously hoping to win. But when we buy cryptocurrencies all our attention is on it to do well and make money from it. This is hard to guess right these days as alot are now managed by scammers.
