761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Recovering a Bitcoin Wallet from Android Phone that was Reset on: July 10, 2014, 10:17:42 PM
Afaik, factory reset fully wipes any data in there. Anything you had is probably lost, but you can try to use a program to recover the data on the sdcard, just do it quick before it gets overwritten.

In this movie, Actor Truong, how much did they pay you?
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle WITH 3.5BTC PRIZE – THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING!!!! on: July 10, 2014, 02:25:55 AM
There was a long period without hints at the end, because I didn't realize the error in the string of letters until what should have been the solution was posted. It had been triple checked, so I'm still confused as to how it happened - but it happened - and it's such a shame. It was impossible to know who the rightful winner would have been, so the only answer was to hint at the flaw so the solve could be made. We all would have preferred different outcomes, for various reasons.
After all, we are only human...
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle WITH 3.5BTC PRIZE – THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING!!!! on: July 09, 2014, 10:57:07 PM
He owns 1500btc(not from ARG games) yet he still won the 3.5btc prize. Didn't share either(as far as I know).

Wrong, he shared with four users x 0.1 BTC, I'm one of those:

Four, eh? wow, ~$250. You guys must be rich, now Gatekeeper is poor.
765  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin tax up to 22% in Greece! on: July 09, 2014, 10:49:12 PM
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/28vzoq/i_sold_146_btc_at_btcplazacom_with_bank_transfer/

Any similar experiences?? Has the bitcoin taxation started already??

Andreas Antonopoulus would be the guy to ask that question. He grew up in Greece under the oppressive banking system and that was his inspiration for developing decentralized networks and bitcoin software.
Andreas Antonopoulos did not develop Bitcoin(unless he is Satoshi).
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Phishing on: July 09, 2014, 10:45:07 PM
syabiz is from malaysia as you can see his posts in this forum, but still I dont understand how he supposed to cheat on you with that email, I didnt see any links to click except the file attached.

did he really attach a wallet.dat file in his email ? have you scan it with virustotal ?
Even if it was a virus, unless it was exploiting some previously undisclosed vulnerability in Windows, the Windows loader can't execute non-exe files by doubleclicking(not to my knowledge).
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle WITH 3.5BTC PRIZE – THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING!!!! on: July 09, 2014, 10:20:54 PM
Unfortunately, Dark Wallet blocks off proxies, the "TrollBox123".
Also, when I checked the forum it was from an unsecured computer.
That gave away my IP.
Changed now and I only use Internet Cafes.
Should anything happen, I don't get damaged Wink

That being said, both of you have participated in the ARG Puzzle.

Don't you find it weird that for days the OP said no more clues (basically you have everything) and you were ALL stuck,
and then suddently she appears with a shitstorm of clues?
And then, Game Over within a matter of a couple of hours....

So why was she torturing us?

Suggestion: U may also use public wi-fi.

Question: Do u mean they have kept the prize for themselves using sockpuppet ?

I do not mean nor suggest anything.
Use your own due dilligence Wink

You didn't answer my OP question: Which version do you find more suitable?

Btw did the Gatekeeper give the solution on how he got the key?
He got the money out so he/she can tell us now I suppose.
Gatekeeper owns over 1500btc, + the 3.5 he got as the prize. Coincidence?

I don't get your point?
You mean he got over 1500BTC because of ARG games?
What?

My question was clear: Did the Gatekeeper give the solution on how he got the key?

DFUOA???
My statement was quite clear. He owns 1500btc(not from ARG games) yet he still won the 3.5btc prize. Didn't share either(as far as I know).

Remember when I said that the rich become richer? He's got nearly $1 million dollars, but he just had to get 3.5 btc more.

Don't believe me? Check out Gatekeeper's address https://blockchain.info/address/19ohKGMSHR7AsBc7rk4uiQrcZPiNqgM3dA

769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [HELP ME!] [Edited (again)] Computer Crashed No Graphics Card Detected. on: July 09, 2014, 08:13:13 PM
You are heading for more disaster if you try to fiddle with flashing. RMA the card.

Perfect answer. OP, you didn't flash the BIOS, so that has nothing to do with a bricked card after a failed BIOS flash.
Just take it to the nearest computer store and pay a few bucks, or RMA the card for free.
I'm 14 and my parents would kill me if they found out about the broken card. Sad
Do you think it would it cost a lot to fix?

Would I be able to RMA the card? Well I guess using oclvanitygen doesn't void the warranty or anything. So I should be able to get a replacement?

Would anyone be able to tell if I used oclvanitygen in any way? (apart from having the software on my HDD)
So I could just make up an excuse that I was playing DayZ or something and it crashed?

Your parents are going to kill you because a video card died?  It should be under warranty unless you try something silly like trying to flash firmware as noted above.

Contact the manufacturer on their website, usually they have a form.  Fill it out and usually in 24 hours they give you instructions.  Mail it back for $10.
So my video card dying has nothing to do with oclvanitygen?

Well, I found my warrant card from Gigabyte and it lasts 3 years. I think I got it around January this year so i'm good.
Nobody can find out how the graphics card got bad, nobody!! If you RMA it just say it crashes when gaming.

Anyway, have you mined on the card? I doubt oclvanitygen had anything to do with your card, UNLESS you ran it for hours and hours without your card increasing the fanspeed(or you doing it manually) and THUS it overheated.

Any chance we can get a final version of that awesome .PDF?

shorena is making progress on it. I'm helping out a tiny bit. Smiley
Thanks. If there's something I can do to help, feel free to ask.

Here you go: https://mega.co.nz/#!N5oUUBQR!T9PvfVCW-u2XZQZQcOREjkZsFrCqb0jVF432KhDyH8g

I could have written more at the end, but I think I shouldnt have. There is a whole educational part I decided not to touch. The background is that I used to study education and even taught in school. The educational system however is fundamentally flawed. But I also have problems to translate these thoughts into english. You probably know this yourself. School is not inspiring, its depressing, it restraines learning. If I didnt know better Id think the educational system is intentional bad to keep the masses calm in front of the TV.

Think what this picture made you learn the last two weeks. This could happen in schools, in companies, everywhere around the world learning could be discovering and not memorization. Im rambling again, aint I?

Anyway I didnt include the thanks in the pdf because I felt I should end with a question Wink

Thanks OP, thanks all those the contributed, thanks all those that watched in silence, maybe next time you will join in. I enjoyed this journey very much. Maybe there will be something as exhilarating in the future. But I honestly think this was a once in a lifetime event.

Id also like to call attention to this post by S4VV4S: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683366.0

I have yet to understand it, but apparently there are more riddles in this than we thought. I have to admit: I need a break. I have to tend my life a bit.
About school. It's not the problem, but it's far from the solution when in most European countries, kids are not checked for any mental conditions such as ADHD,Autism,Asperger's syndrome which can impede learning, this is why most kids skip school, get bad grades.

Attacked how? DDoS? Perhaps it was...Cicada 3301, perhaps to see if you can thwart the attack and then they scout you? And how could this cause you damage? I can only assume your IP was known through some link you visited, but how was it associated with you?

How could they restore the other person's address, though? I thought they didn't have access to private keys...
From their own pocket, obviously.
774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Vanity addresses? on: July 08, 2014, 07:43:37 PM
Wow, that's crazy  Cheesy It takes so long for vanitygen to find one though! I've been waiting 6 hours for 1 address  Lips sealed
You can use your graphics card(nvidia included) for faster generation.
775  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Vanity addresses? on: July 08, 2014, 07:32:49 PM
Millions!  Grin
Much more than that.

Post the txid of the transactions that you claim are problematic.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Built a Windows program to watch Bitcoin connections across the world on: July 08, 2014, 01:36:03 AM
i smell trojan just by looking at it
So far I didn't see such indication, emphasis on so far. But it was packed with UPX. I was looking for signs of...wallet stealing. The program does require a serial key, which is odd and pretty stupid.
778  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Checkout Guy At The Grocery Store: "ARE YOU "GOING GREEN?" on: July 08, 2014, 01:26:24 AM
Grocery bags, made from trees...worse than plastic bags? Please.. Even if recycled, trees are still used to produce new ones, no doubt.
779  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: July 08, 2014, 12:30:27 AM
well, at least it's not complaining about a missing file anymore - progress Wink

But it says it can take minute, then nothing happens :/
It exits for some reason.
OMG. I just tried this out. It says compiling. This can take a minute or something.
Then it said Done! And then my computer crashed. It didn't turn on for 2 minutes and now the screens have no signal. Do you guys think my computer is destroyed?

Edit:
Connected screen to motherboard (bypassing Graphics Card)
Oh shit, my graphics card isn't being detected. FML. I'm going to I get into so much trouble. Fuck.
Ok rerunning Windows experience Index
Previous score: 7.6
New score: 5.6 OH SHIT IM FUCKED.

And what was the lowest score? Gaming Graphics. FROM AN R9 290X!

Edit 2:
Ok now I'm going to download Amd Catalyst Drivers again and install them. I hope this works.

Was I supposed to use oclvanityminer? Because I used oclvanitygen.
I am sorry for what has happened, but I can't be held responsible for that, you clearly have had some issues with your card(*cough* overheating *cough*).
