761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized? on: April 26, 2018, 04:08:26 AM
Some say that the Lightning Network is centralized, but from my point of view, it's still a decentralized solution to scale Bitcoin as anyone would be able to run a Lightning node at will. The huge advantages that it provides for Bitcoin such as dirt-cheap fees, and instant transactions would be too hard to ignore to implement in the future.

However, if the Lightning Network turns out to become a centralized solution for Bitcoin (like many claims it will), then it would be doomed as only those with a lot of wealth and power would be able to participate in this ecosystem.

What are your thoughts about this? Is Lightning really centralized? Or Decentralized? Huh

Hate to break it to you,

But Lightening entire design was meant to centralize control of bitcoin by the elite banker that can afford to lock up the majority of bitcoin, by just printing more useless fiat.

Also even Bitcoin itself has been centralized for years to the wealthy elite that can afford warehouse full of ASICS.
Chinese Mining Pools alone had more than 51% control for years.
Centralization of bitcoin happened years ago and no one seemed to care.  Tongue

Any thoughts about to make new wallet which will sync faster? So normies don't have to fuck around with snapshot and shit? Some development might bring new energy into this coin.

Yeah , it is called header sync with a non-staking wallet and as soon as You or someone else finds Kiklo a Programmer to write it
, they will jump right the fuck on getting it done. Smiley

ZEITCOIN is Looking for a Programmer
Goal is to have this done within 2 years

Programmer Goal 1:

Modifications to the ZEITCOIN code

Currently the Transaction fees are being destroyed instead of being added to the interest earned by the stakers.

(It was based on peercoin code that destroyed the fees.)

Programming Goal #1

a scheduled change on 1-01-2020 that modifies the code to the following:

1.  Transaction fees are no longer destroyed, and whoever stakes the block earns the transaction fee

2.  Currently the transaction fee is .1 zeitcoin per every transfer , that needs to be changed to .001  .

3.  Have these code updates on github , so it can pull it over into our https://github.com/zeitcoin/zeitcoin

Programmers price to do this and your best guess at a completion time.

Programming Goal #2

Update the wallet code to match the new logo

Programming Goal #3

Create a Desktop separate Non-Staking Lite Wallet using header sync
Anyone interested, please contact Kiklo in the zeit-knights.slack.com With a list of coding accomplishments and if you are willing to be paid in zeitcoins or prefer another coin and what amount?

FYI:
The Non-Staking Lite Wallet using header sync will be the design the android wallet will follow.

Hi! The project looks cool. I read the project whitepaper and I liked the idea. I hope that this ICO will be successful. Wish you good luck for the project and DEV.
I look here already 850 pages were written about discussion of the project and its advantages and other. For a long time there is a discussion of the project. And some people still think that the team prepares for carrying out ICO. These are probably got stuck in last time. Ghosts.  Grin

People that mention zeitcoin and ico are really clueless or bots.

ICO are mainly scams and usually for brand new coins.

ZEITCOIN was created by a month of Proof of Work Mining and then transitioned to a Proof of Stake Coin.
It is over 4 years old and there never was and never will be an ico as the zeitcoins are already distributed by PoW & PoS and 4 years of low prices on the exchanges.

wow 15 minutes in and I am actually solo mining for the first time at a coin launch where I may actually get a block!  Props to the Dev's for the stupid proof guide on how to setup solo mining for us noobs.  I really like the idea of PoS coins so I will happily be mining this one now that Mintcoin's rewards are dwindling and it's popular.

Technically speaking , you are staking not mining with a PoS coin.

ZEITCOIN requires a block be a minimum of 24 hours old , before it can stake.
But with at least 2880 blocks everyday your chances to stake are much higher than other coins.  Smiley

An ICO had to launch 20mins ago, but their website crashed. I think their sale will be over in less than an hour. That's what we need for our Zeitcoin. Boom boom Zeitcoin Hodlrs.

ZEIT is over 4 years old, their will be NO ICO.

IF anyone want zeitcoins their are plenty of exchanges with plenty of pairs to trade in.

769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has to switch to POS protocol? on: April 11, 2018, 08:16:24 AM
Amount of bitcoin is limited to 21,000,000 and the incentive for miners will eventually only be keeping nodes that comes from transaction fees.
Then a lot of miners will stop mining, hash-power goes down, and the transaction will get a very long time to get accepted, because by that time the mining difficulty would be very high.
Then the POW protocol won't work out.
What would happen then?

1.  The PoW Miners will never agree to a switch to Proof of Stake.

2.  Bitcoin is limited to 21 million coins, it would never be safe as a proof of stake coin.

Since the # of coins per staked block are a large % of its security.
(More coins per staked block the higher the security.)

Coins with less than a total of 1 billion coins are not safe to use for Proof of Stake , unless they use a checkpoint server.

And if they use a checkpoint server, it centralized control of the coin to block transactions to whomever controls the checkpoint server.  Tongue

So Bitcoin (with it's limited 21 million only coins) moving to Proof of Stake makes it unsecured.
And the required checkpoint server for it gives 1 individual complete dominance of which transactions are approved.
So PoS for Bitcoin is a no go.

For a Truly Decentralized Secured Proof of Stake coin,
you have to choose one with a quantity like ZEITCOIN of over 30 Billion. (Which is why after 4 years they never needed a checkpoint server. )

Higher # of Coins Matter in the Energy Efficient Proof of Stake design , in the Energy Wasteful Proof of Work design , the # of coins is irrelevant.

FYI:
In earlier arguments on the 2nd post of this forum,
Miners complain that PoS always gives total dominion to the early stakers,
By the early stakers only selling their interest and keeping their principle,
this is possible because of a high interest rates of 4% and higher giving early stakers an unfair advantage,

ZEITCOIN has removed this issue by moving to an Ultra Low Inflation rate of only .0005% per year,
meaning the staker has to sell his principle and can not forever just sell his interest.
This also has a beneficial effect of keeping the price stable, as zeitcoin was ~$3 million Marketcap a few months ago and as other coins have lost 40% or more,
ZEITCOIN has remained stable.  Smiley
770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else have any idea of what could break this bear market? on: April 09, 2018, 01:11:25 PM
The two dates that I’m hoping will be important in helping to break this bear market are April 15 and May 14.
April 15= Tax day USA
May 14-16= Consensus 2018 - last year helped spark interest and investment in crypto
Also, I believe the release of an easy to use fiat to crypto gateway that has good security could attract more investors.

FYI:
Actual Tax Day in the US , this year is April 17th.  Smiley

Hello!

If bitcoin died do you think people will lose intrest in other cryptos aswell? which altcoin would you invest in if there were no bitcoin?

    ZEITCOIN

Does not require ASICS.
Users running a node can keep it's network running at almost zero cost.

Ultra Low Inflation (Less than 500 New coins created per day)

Onchain Transaction Capacity is 20X bitcoin pre-segwit
Offchain Transaction Capacity is unlimited (Offchain Capacity is provided by 3rd parties like some of the exchanges.)

All ZEITCOIN Nodes are Full Nodes, meaning any user can earn interest with it's Proof of Stake Design

Truly Decentralized (No one can block transactions on a continuous basis like in bitcoin & tether & ethereum.)
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★ ZEIT ★ [COMMUNITY & KNIGHTS] [ULTRA LOW INFLATION] on: April 07, 2018, 11:26:01 AM
Please tell me which top coin can be compared with ZEITCOIN? I read somewhere that it is similar to the DASH is this true?

Dash uses a PoW Design (Energy Wasteful) with MasterNodes (Needed to give users an incentive to run a full node.)

ZEITCOIN is
Energy Efficient

Ultra Low Inflation (Less than 500 New coins created per day)

Onchain Transaction Capacity is 20X bitcoin pre-segwit
Offchain Transaction Capacity is unlimited (Offchain Capacity is provided by 3rd parties like some of the exchanges.)

All ZEITCOIN Nodes are Full Nodes, meaning any user can earn interest with it's Proof of Stake Design
(FYI: Their is a plan to make it where the Full Nodes also receive transaction fees when they stake, but that is ~ two years away.)
(Currently all transactions fees are being destroyed.)

Truly Decentralized (No one can block transactions on a continuous basis.)

To be honest all of the so called top coins on CMK are inferior to ZEITCOIN.
In Time this will become apparent to all.   Smiley
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is forbidden for Muslims on: April 06, 2018, 11:44:36 AM
Under current regulations or what they call 'fatwa', even though bitcoin is considered the currency of the future and part of technological development, bitcoin cannot be separated from one of the elements that can make it forbidden to use. The element is uncertainty. Bitcoin is considered to have this element because the price is so volatile that people like gambling when buying and selling bitcoins, and gambling was forbidden for muslims. how do you think about this?

Muslims don't all agree with the fatwa, as the fatwa was put out by a centralized authority figure in Turkey.
The fatwa also complained that bitcoin was not backed by the government,
the conflict in this is that gold , silver , Food Barter is also not backed by the government , so bitcoin falls into the same category as these items which the fatwa ignores.

Two Turkish Muslims were just fired for ignoring this fatwa.
https://themerkle.com/turkish-imams-fired-for-violating-fatwa-against-bitcoin-trading/

As long as Bitcoin does not pay an interest that exceeds the Islamic requirement of becoming usury ,
then there is really nothing in Islam blocking the usage of bitcoin.

In Time , this centralized authority in Turkey will be shown to be cow-towing to government contacts,
as his fatwa will be repealed or ignored as it has no legitimate reason to be followed in their religious ideology.

* Be aware, Muslims outside of Turkey are under no obligations to follow a fatwa from a Turkish figure. *
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to End CME Futures Market Manipulation on Cryptocurrencies. on: April 06, 2018, 10:12:04 AM

How can they crash the market by dumping contracts?
They can issue as many contracts as they want this is not going to affect the price.
How can you affect the price if there is no settlement in bitcoin and everybody knows this???

I can answer that one.

By creating a CME Market, the high end players can now ignore the real bitcoin markets where you actually have to buy Bitcoins.

This artificially increases the supply of bitcoin by allowing bitcoin trades without actual bitcoins ever being held or delivered.

It diverts fiat that would have helped keep bitcoins actual supply limited.
It also has a psychological effect of creating a standard price for bitcoin that nothing higher than the CME price should be used to buy a bitcoin.

Combine this, with the Banks now blocking credit card purchases of bitcoin and you can see how
The Powers that Be are manipulating the price and destroying user confidence,
this is a cycle that feeds on itself and will continue to control the price.
Wherever the CME points is where the price will head.

Only 2 things could break this cycle.
1.  Bitcoin actual usage Price exceeds the CME manipulated price to expose it as a sham.
(Doubtful as more transactions volume is flowing into altcoins every day.)

2.  A Law is passed requiring that actual bitcoins be delivered at the end of the CME contracts instead of the fiat only manipulation.
(Also Doubtful as TPTB are manipulating the governments along with the markets.)
776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is the day of paying taxes in the US? on: April 06, 2018, 09:39:06 AM
Tax day i believe is on the 17th. I don't know that it will drain like he thinks. A lot of people just end up getting an extension anyway Wink

Or they already cashed out months ago , so they had the fiat ready to pay sitting in a bank.  Wink

bloody hell, is there any normal seed node v2.0 ?

Hi, please try the nodes from here https://goo.gl/SHRuU7 (also provided in the FAQ section of our website). I update these often with the latest nodes.

FYI:

You used the command connect=  in your post above instead of addnode=.

By using connect=, those nodes will ignore all other nodes except the ones in the connect= .

You need to change this to addnode= otherwise anyone not in the connect= list will be blocked from your network.

Everyone should correct this asap so you don't segregate your network.
