Just found the link at the very start of this thread for version 4 - what type of coins are those for? ...snip... Getting a USB ASIC to actually be detected and run properly is hit and miss as it is!
Version 4 is for Bitcoin only, that started with 3.8.0, I believe. 4.9.2 is solid for current ASIC hardware that is supported by it. Most ASIC's have CGMiner build into them.

Is there any way to stop cgminer taking over control of my Radeon GPU fan?
Just upgrade to the current version of CGMiner. You must have a really ancient version since GPU support was removed at version 3.8.0 years ago. The current version is 4.9.2 which doesn't touch the GPU.

![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Will you guys believe me that I literally just switched to the solo pool about 15minutes before I hit this block!??! I thought someone was 'effing' with me in this thread, but not it's verified with the pending 25BTC.. WOOHOO.. And there wasn't even a pool restart! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Its been slow today, i buy stuff all the time but today it didnt confirm yet and Newegg sent an automated message saying the BTC payment failed. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) They only wait 3 hours with Bitpay. What happens then? Can a transaction be unsubmitted?

I've zero idea about that alt-coin or if it's even possible to mine it. You'll need to ask someone in the alt-coin threads.
I'm sorry for using that "alt-coin" for reference..... lets just say I'm solo mining bitcoin for hypothetical purposes. Is there a way to specify a difficulty in the CGminer within the S2 firmware? If I can specify a difficulty, would you or anyone else have any clue where to find that in the firmware (what folder...like /etc/config/.....) In CGMiner you can suggest a different difficulty with the "--suggest-diff" command line argument. Only CKPool software supports it and it is only a suggestion.

It may take me over 3 days to generate a Block at current BTC Difficulty. Crossing Fingers!
What's your hashrate? Ok, Maybe not an exact number of days. I don't think that this will qualify for the contest... AVG: 17.38GH/s Trying my luck at Solo-Mining. I found 3 blocks with 500Mhs but that was over four years ago. I now have 1.6Ths and don't expect to ever find a block again. 17Ghs? don't hold your breath as your chances are VERRRYY low. Good Luck though.

Did you ever get this setup correctly? I too have S7 w/ Ubuntu core.
If so can I see a copy of your conf file (all personal info edited out)
maybe a quick 1,2,3 list of what you had to get done to get this going?
My node is online and working, but my miner cannot connect to it. (I have all the networking stuff squared away)
Thanks -
You did start the node in server mode, correct? Also it needs the rpc user id and password that your mining software needs to use. Check your firewall on your node machine to make sure it is allowing connections into it on port tcp 8332

try this version of cgminer
Why? Mainline CGMiner tells you everything you need to know without the risk of downloading trojans from strange places.

|

You will also have a "Best Share:" equal to or greater than current difficulty.
|
|
|
what size does the share need to be so i can keep a eye im not 100 %

I have been racking my brain to figure out a good load balance/solution to this as easy as possible.
Balance and load balance strategies have been part of CGMiner since I started using it 5 years ago.

Hi there,
I have been working on a project and am using BFGminer as a stratum proxy. I am told CGMiner has/had this functionality but I don't seem to see any documentation for it or how to use it in such a manner.
CGMiner is mining software. That's probably whats in your miners. ckProxy is what your most likely looking for. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.msg8907134#msg8907134

Great you ran him off. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) He was there around 480Ths
|
|
|
Heh he picked the same number I said on the slush thread - 10 blocks. Yes the pool already has information about that ... That is some interesting stuff. Why would someone do that here? Would it be to benefit from faster block change notifications? Harm the reputation of the pool? I'm pretty sure I saw the word "unintentional" in there somewhere.
|
|
|
But hey, it brings large miner to the pool so increases the chance to find a block even though is reduces payout for the smaller miners (like me).
Reduces the individual payout but increases the frequency of payouts. Don't forget that little detail ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Sorry for being off topic.
Where does one go to find the Bitcoin price on a give day for tax purposes?
blockchain info will give you the value of the transaction the day it was made and bitcoinwisdom has charts that go back about 2 years. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/coinbase/btcusdPhil, That's a huge help. Can't believe I hadn't noticed that long ago. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thanks Sam
