I've always used the bitcointalk software, so I don't know too much about electrum or blockchain.info

Im just trying to find a way to be notified when a block is found since I can't find any apps that will do it, except for maybe one for iOS, but I have a droid so it won't work for me.

At any rate I downloaded the wallet and sent myself a payment to see how loud it was when a payment came in and the stupid wallet didn't alert me anyways, so I guess it doesn't matter if I can solo mine to blockchains wallet anyways, lol

Really wish there was a way to get notifications on my phone :/

Electrum is a wallet software, it can be ran on your desktop, and on your Android phone you can have Mycellium. They can even share their HD wallets, and you can have read only wallets on mycellium.

You can't go wrong with both of these.

i used a blockchain.info address but i never found a block :/

but what you can do.. is fire up electrum, generate an address.. then get the key from electrum and put it in blockchain.info as a cold address notification only.

then you get a text when you receive or spend funds from that wallet.


also, be sure you make a buckup of they key electrum gives you, as you will need it to spend funds..

If you are using Windows the standard windows client give you a pop-up in the system tray when you get paid for a block.  What more do you need!!!

I need a notification on my phone lol

I like to rent occasionally and would like to be notified on my phone since I'm not around my computer much and am tired of looking to see whether I got lucky or not...

When I hit my one and only block it was in the middle of the night, made my whole day to see that little window on my screen when I went to check my computer in the morning.

Instant notification on my phone, that is a bit extreme!!  Happy seeing it on the screen when I check it...

I found 3 blocks with 500Mhs but that was over four years ago.  I now have 1.6Ths and don't expect to ever find a block again.  17Ghs? don't hold your breath as your chances are VERRRYY low.  Good Luck though.

My S3+ solo lottery machine got it's best ever share a couple weeks ago after running almost a year, "bestever": 44,756,831,208.  That would have been a block a year ago when I started mining! 

Over the weekend I just upgraded my solo lottery miner to an S5, so here's to hoping!
