It would seem this NYN is the social media darling coin by a poor dev... and the NYAN coin is actually much nicer, cleaner, and has a real dev team behind it... wonder which will last longer?

People are so good at math but so bad at history...

I know I can name a few coins that have proper diff adjustments that give them a proper, on time coin minting schedule... but do you think this has that? NYAN is gonna be hammered like the drunk girl at the frat party until diff finally matches hashrate... we may see 40K blocks before that happens.

Not like anyone else has mastered Gravity Well now have they?
766  Other / Archival / Re: [ ANN - NEW COIN PRE LAUNCH ] "NYANCOIN" Here Comes The Cat ! > in 55mins <<<< on: January 06, 2014, 11:34:48 PM
Not that I care to defend a 10% premine... but at least he has allocated what he will do with the premine... extra reward to CPU miners, rewards to meme posters, rewards to youtube posters etc etc... millions per day slotted to be given away to those that take the time to spread media about NYANCoin.

Stop mindlessly spouting about the dev keeping a 10% premine... he has clearly stated where all the coins will go and it is not like we can't confirm that with the block explorer. The people here posting memes are supposed to go back and tag them with their address after launch... when they get paid you will know if the dev is straight... if they bitch about no NYAN... then let it die.

Man people need to read more... it is sad really... lemmings all of you...

Is the 100kh/s CPU only pool talking a user with TOTAL 100kh/s or just workers greater than 100kh/s?

I have 5 PCs in my house that can mine but just the first two would get close to 100kh/s withtheir CPUs?

AmI going to be booted if I have 5 workers and am near 150kh/s?
768  Other / Archival / Re: [ ANN - NEW COIN PRE LAUNCH ] "NYANCOIN" Here Comes The Cat ! > in 7 hours <<<< on: January 06, 2014, 07:05:28 PM

1 - Everyone will get the source at the same time.
2 - Diff re-target  every 120 Bloks
3 - Starting Difficulty at 0.0002
4 - Wallets will be available right after lauch

No F that... WALLETS AT THE SAME TIME AS SOURCE OR DO NOT EVEN BOTHER.

If you have the binaries then they need to go live at the same time as source... end of story.
769  Other / Archival / Re: [ ANN - NEW COIN PRE LAUNCH ] "NYANCOIN" Here Comes The Cat ! Delayed :( on: January 06, 2014, 02:19:01 PM
So, what happened to releasing the binaries zipped and password protected pre launch?

Don't want another MOON debacle?

When will the source and binaries be posted and what is the plan for launch?

Oh for fucks sake. I never said I was abondaning pennies. I wouldn't have voluntered to take it over if I was just going to abondan it.

However, I took it over for fun as was the intention of pennies and you insufferable entitled greedy twats are making it decidedly not fun. As such i find no reward in making useless changes to the coin to appease you. What do you even want from it now? IT'S FIXED. I CAN'T FIX IT ANYMORE THAN FIXED. If it breaks again I will be here to fix it again. It's what I do.

I do not, on the other hand, have any connections or sway over exchanges to make them keep trading an unprofitable coin. That's not my job, and that's all I'm saying. The only thing I will not do for you is to advertise and promote a coin i know you shouldn't invest in. But i'm not going to stop you from doing so, and that is all.

You didn't fix shit, you fucked it all up.

Why don't you make a fucking clear post about what has been done and will be done with the coin and stop bitching?  If you're going to take over a coin then put the time in and deal with the questions and posts on here.

It has been posted CLEARLY already.

Stake bug was fixed and reduced... it kicks in Midnight as we move into January 8th.

ALL clients older than v10 stopped being able to contribute ANYTHING to the chain as of midnight January 1st.

The only remaining issue at hand HAS ALREADY BEEN SPOKEN ABOUT and The_Catman said he will increase the max transaction size in the next release when it comes time to do so.

Maybe you should be a bit more clear on what your problem is instead of ambiguously bitching at The_Catman.

I am only basing my asking price on what I perceive as a valid amount for what effort I put into this coin.

I mined near the very start and have been sitting on 16K for 6-8 weeks now... something like that.

Now with the GPU miner, I can net 1K per day. With scrypt coin hopping... I can average $8 per day at current BTC prices.

Given only us few have gotten SKC GPU mining to work, and no exchanges have it yet, I feel that makes it 2X and 2X again what a scrypt coin is worth. So $32 a day for 1K SKC... about .035 BTC give or take, .35 BTC for 10K... yeah... i feel that is appropriate right now. to ask for more is just greedy and unrealistic.

So... 10K SKC for 0.35 BTC still for sale. I will also take 12 LTC. No haggling.

I have a question, if I put the same wallet file(wallet.dat) on two computers, a client has been completed synchronization, another is syncing. My question: while others send a few cents to my wallet address, what will be happened with the different clients but same wallet address?

Is it even possible? different clients but same wallet address?

Of course, you can copy your wallet.dat from computer A (has synchronization) to computer B, then clear all data file and start the qt client to synch at computer B.

you do not even have to do that...

When I get a new coin I REALLY want to mine... I sync it on one PC and then close it and copy the folder to my main server share folder. then i launch and start solo.

Then, I copy that shared folder to all my other machines, and using the same wallet and the already synced chain, I let it catch up and start them soloing... no matter which client finds the block... they all pop up the transaction.

I have done this with at least 6 different rigs at one time using the same exact folder on them all and solo mining on each one.

I really wish more people would take the time to read the PoS whitepaper...

There is no magic... stake is a reward for participating in the network...

The point of stake is for users to hold coins and have the client open a lot more often than a normal PoW coin would. The object is to stave off 51% attackers because so many people have valid nodes working by keeping their wallets online.

To encourage this, PoS will take a block of coins in the wallet that has met a certain time criteria, and will ATTEMPT to use the CPU to MINT a PROOF OF STAKE BLOCK... this is a valid block in the chain... just like a normal PoW block. PoS blocks can contain and confirm transactions just like a normally mined PoW block, and thus must also meet the same criteria as a PoW block, as in it must be accepted by the blockchain and all the other peers... it is possible to have a PoS block orphaned because another block was generated at the same time by another user.

The whole idea was created for PPC so that one day... no hardware would ever need to be used to mine blocks when the final PoW block is minted... a more energy efficient chain can be maintained and transactions verified just by users keeping their wallets alive and PoS blocks minting. That is why there is even a separate difficulty associated with PoS minting compared to PoW minting.

So yes, all you need to do is transfer your coins to your wallet and wait... keep it open or open it back up on day 7-8 and let it stay on line. Later, you will see blocks show up and will credit you stake coins.

This is far too difficult to understand, can you post info-graphics or pictures to explain the process?

No. Read it from the source... go google Proof of Stake whitepaper. If you cannot digest it in words why do I need to go out of my way to make you a picture book?

Mortimer452, "your" staked coins are cryptsy coins. LOL, heh?

CORRECT! The stake earned on your Cryptsy balance belongs to Vern... too late now.

OK, so there's no way to earn stake on these coins now?  Purchased coins cannot be transferred to the wallet on my PC and staked?

You can transfer them to your own wallet now, but you are too late to get any kind of obscene stake... if you did it today then sometime after the 12th you would be eligible for those blocks to stake at the new, reduced rate. Just in case though... you should stick to transferring out blocks of 100 million or less at a time.

Right, I understand the stake is massively reduced under the new rules.  I just wasn't sure how it worked.

So all I need to do is transfer 100mil at a time to my wallet and just let it sit there?  1 CENT per 10,000 in my wallet just magically appears after 9 days?

I really wish more people would take the time to read the PoS whitepaper...

780  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: January 03, 2014, 06:24:46 PM
Hmmm....

BFL have announced half price Monarchs for new orders with existing pre-order customers having to swallow full price for early ASIC fabrication.

Though there will not be any offer of redress coming from BFL for existing (I don't know if LRM has any 'special relations' with BFL) would it be worth putting in an order for half price cards knowing that they will offer the same return (ish) taking increase in difficulty into account?

BFL have stated that thousands of wafers will be available in order to drive their GH/s contracts so new Monarch orders should turn around relatively quickly (4 - 6 weeks?) once chips are available from the foundry.

Thoughts (keep them constructive!!!) ?

The only constructive feedback is to literally never do business with BFL again.

BFL excised their hubris muscle to their long term detriment. But, hey, who said Sonny was in it for the long game. Each person involved in the founding of BFL is now very wealthy. I predict that they will sell the company after the big Monarch push is done and retire to some other private venture - which is undoubtedly the operation and maintenance of one of the largest private pools of hashing power in the world.

Sounds about right...

do everything possible to maximize income and minimize cost, while setting up a second, separate, unlinked company that can take advantage of the product the customers are paying to have designed and produced by the first company. SELL EVERYTHING once the GOOD chip presales are filled and there is stock, with the stipulation that the purchaser must provide the second company with at cost hardware in exchange for some dismal share in the second companies mining profits.

That sound on target?
