If you plan on mining ETH or ETC, you need to use the AMD blockchain drivers that fix the epoch Dag hash drop. For any other coins you can use the latest or any AMD Relive driver.

Actually, for any crypto (blockchain) currency, it is highly recommended that you use the blockchain drivers. Although the improved hash rates are most felt on ETHash, it should theoretically also provide slight improvements to other algorithms.
I just intstalled on it and my hashrate is fluctuating more than before? Keeps dropping

Is it true it doesn't work for windows 8.1?

I have a feeling something very important will be released during swell. Something revolutionary even!

I think some altcoins will boom after the hardfork. But there are some coins that are still mooning with Bitcoin. Elix is one of that coins. Had a really crazy pump in the last days.
I think there is way to many altcoins and ICO's being thrown in to the market. Its taking away from the growth of the real coins like ether, monero, litecoin, dash, xrp etc.. All these new coins like neo, gas, omg plus BCH fork and now a 2x fork is killing the growth of the older alt coins. I'm sticking to the old coins in hopes that some of the new shitcoins die off and investors return to the original coins that have been proven.

Why do you think that Altcoins will boom again after the BTC Fork?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I just don't understand your reasoning.

Why do you think that Altcoins will boom again after the BTC Fork?

Mass adoption! The only thing holding altcoins back right now is because everybody wants bitcoin to get the extra hardfork coin. Once that's over, investors will pour back in to the altcoin market.

Or maybe people are hedging with alt coins now, ready to jump back into bitcoin after the fear of the fork goes away. People don't need to go through bitcoin anymore. Bitstamp, Coinbase, Kraken and all the major bitcoin exchanges have fiat - alt trading pairs already.

If the market was hedging with altcoins, bitcoin would be going down vs altcoins up not the opposite like what is happening now. I can tell you right now, that all the big wig bitcoin investors I know want that forked coin. The market has learned from the the last fork, that a split is not to be feared anymore. It is to be embraced! Free coins = more money! They aren't getting back in to alts until after they get there new coin.

why do you think so?

there is no reason for another widespread altcoin pump this year. at the beginning of the year there was a lot of reasons, mostly because of the uncertainty of the bitcoin future and also because of the severe spam attack that it was experiencing. so the pumpers took advantage and released the ".... will replace bitcoin" crap and pumped the shit out of every single altcoin out there.

there is no similar reason now for another "alt boom" again. you will continue seeing 2-3 altcoins getting big pumps every day and the rest being on the downtrend like always.

So your saying, altcoins will never boom again? Really? I think its only just begun. Reason....mass adoption, the world has just started getting in to this space and its about to get much bigger! Infact everybody I know is waiting to get there extra forked coin and than get back in to altcoins after the fork. The only reason alts haven't been rising lately is because of bitcoins hardforks.

Neo's ath was back in august. Neo is a perfect example of another coin having a nice pump right now. Watch what happens to it over the next few days. Garaunteed to fall back soon.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RIP DASH? on: October 03, 2017, 05:49:10 AM
All alt coins have been going through pumps and dumps for the last month. None of them are sustaining any long term growth vs btc right now. Next time you see a coin go up 30-50% you know it will be coming right back down to where the pump started.

778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / The next Alt boom is set to launch after BTC fork on: October 03, 2017, 04:57:06 AM
All were seeing right now is small pumps and dumps in the alt market. No sustained growth vs BTC.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 03, 2017, 04:51:43 AM
The rocket is set to launch right before swell, it was planned.
