7621  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BITCOIN WALLET on: September 11, 2021, 06:55:58 AM
You didn't specify what device or operating system you use. There are desktop and mobile wallets. Mobile wallets are further divided into those created for Android or iOS devices. Unfortunately, you will sometimes see that a software wallet works for Android, but doesn't work on iOS phones. You have to take such things into account as well.

The below source hasn't been updated for a year, but it will still give you plenty of information about what is available:

I will be looking at making a few games. I will post those when I have something worth showing.

If someone else would like to make games feel free to message me. Graphic design, sound design, script writing, ui design and programming is needed to make games. I was thinking games that range from simple jump and run games for kids, educational games for kids all the way to adult games. The goal is to have games that teach while they are fun at the same time.
You might have bitten off more than you can chew there. Making your own games is a serious undertaking. Do you personally have any of the skills to make them? If not, most people won't be willing to work for free, and you need time to create those.

Try to find an easier way to spread your message. I did something like this for example > Riddles and Brain-Teasers for Bitcointalk Members (Newbies – Members). Come to think of it, I haven't done one in a while, so I should probably think of something soon.
7623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not make curiosity to people around you while you are playing gambling. on: September 11, 2021, 06:39:13 AM
Actually, it all starts with the culture around it. If you live in a place where everyone is gambling just like they visit movie theatres then you will not see many of them addicted to gambling. But in a culture where gambling is seen as something bad, people will get addicted because they are not comfortable telling others about their habit.
I don't thing you can just change the definition of a gambling addict based on where he lives and what those around him do. If you are a heroin addict, you are a heroin addict in Beverly Hills or in the Brazilian favelas. If the people need to gamble every day and all day, it's certainly a problem no matter where you are.

I don't think any parent should introduce gambling to their children but at the same time, the relation should be one where kids can discuss their habits with you.
I agree. But the parents need to have a firm stance against gambling and explain to their child all the negativity that comes with gambling addiction. Of course, that won't work if the parents themselves are gambling junkies that don't know any better.

Actually I've never come across a case like the scenario you describe. But, IMO your post will probably remain and will not be deleted even if one of the post you quoted has been removed on the grounds that your answers to the other two quotes are quite helpful and make sense.
Maybe the moderators would make an exception in that case since the post contains additional quotes. One other possibility is that they could maybe edit the post and only remove the quote of the deleted post while leaving the others alone. Somehow I doubt they have the time to go into such trivial matters.
7625  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: September 11, 2021, 06:26:16 AM
Dafuq, even in other cryptos as well (e.g. EOS)?
They don't display any information for EOS withdrawals from what I can see. But there fees are high even for some other altcoins such as ETH. They are charging 0.01 ETH for each processed withdrawal. USDT withdrawals cos 10 USDT each, no matter if you use the Ethereum or Tron network.

Withdrawal fee is in BTC so it will go high when BTC go up and minimum when btc goes down, provided they dont change it.
It's always high and they haven't changed their minimums once since I created this topic.
7626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is a side hustle, not a life or death situation on: September 10, 2021, 12:35:08 PM
Not getting enough sleep:
My job and everything I do revolves around computers. That includes both crypto and non-crypto related ventures. I stare at the computer when I am working, I stare at it when I am on the forum, and when I am involved with crypto stuff. I seldom sleep more than 6-7 hours a night + 1 hour of rest time in the afternoon. I function very well.

Not eating well:
Nothing can keep me of my food. I eat very healthy and 4-5 times a day. I would never prioritize crypto over healthy food.

Take a stroll and exercise:
I am physically active and I work out. I love mountains and forests. But I have to admit that life is making it difficult to pack up and go and not do anything for a few days.

Don't quit your main work:
Nope. I have managed to incorporate crypto in my everyday life just fine without it affecting anything else I do too much. I see crypto as an economy that will proper and develop alongside the traditional economy and not something that will replace everything we have known for hundreds of years.
7627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not make curiosity to people around you while you are playing gambling. on: September 10, 2021, 12:15:37 PM
No, I would love to see people learn how to gamble, I mean, I love gambling so there's no reason I would hide what I'm doing. I believe they will eventually learn, so while they are still young, it's nice if we could educate them on the real purpose of gambling, the chances of winning, and most especially the "RISK" that we tend to ignore.
I would never introduce my kids to gambling, nothing good can come of it. It's a disease and an addiction that many people can't control. I have met very few responsible gamblers in my life. Those who know when it's enough and who gamble occasionally just for fun. The people I know usually have problems at home because their gambling activities affect their families negatively. For those kind of people, the most important thing is their fix and thrill. Their families come second. You never know who can adopt such an addiction, so it's better to tell your kids to stay away instead of telling them how much money they can win. Most gamblers lose anyways. Statistically, you and your kids will as well.

7629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Is The Best Cryptocurrency To Buy Presently? on: September 10, 2021, 09:14:22 AM
Don't invest in any other coins until you own 1 Bitcoin! Or something like that. Do you know who said that? Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum. That should give you some perspective about how to go about it.

There is a dedicated board for Bitcoin and on this board, you can talk about altcoins.
Your hyperlink is messed up. What were you trying to point to? Also, it doesn't make sense saying that "there is a dedicated board for bitcoin where you can talk about altcoins".

You can setup DCA bot for it, It will be nice to buy small amount regularly.
Why would you rely on a bot to do the trading for you? A bot shouldn't have such permissions if you ask me. You can't be certain it won't malfunction and mess up what you were trying to acquire.

Depends on you, if you like high risk, choose a bigger coin, such as Bitcoin.
That makes no sense. If you want to lower your risk, you buy bitcoin.

If you want long term profit, choose ETH. Look at Ethereum graphs, they all have positive values in long term.
And Bitcoin doesn't have a positive long-term return? How much was it worth when it first got listed on exchanges? How much was it worth 5 years ago? How about 2019/2020?
7630  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: September 10, 2021, 08:43:26 AM
I was happy to see a newbie writing what I though was a very nice post. But before meriting him, I decided to check whether it was genuine or plagiarized. You can guess what I found.

Plagiarized post:
Following my entry into the crypto world. I was ecstatic to start making money. I eventually came across firms and projects that I thought would go quickly. After all my effort and investment, all I got was a dump. With this background, I would recommend When you're looking into digital cryptocurrency companies and startups, you should confirm that they're blockchain-powered, which means they track detailed transaction data. Also, check that they have solid business plans that solve real problems. Companies should specify their digital currency liquidity and ICO rules. There should be real people behind the company. If the startup you're investigating lacks some of these characteristics, think through your decision even more carefully. That's my humble advice.

7631  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [List] Some ways to identify scam projects on: September 10, 2021, 08:39:33 AM
It's getting harder to spot a scam project these days, because most of them claim to have x100 or even x1000 potential.
There you go, you just did it. All projects claiming or guaranteeing you that you will see gains of x100 or x1000 are a scam in one way or the other. No serious project would say that. Have you ever seen Satoshi or the Bitcoin developers say something like that about Bitcoin? Their focus was on revolutionizing the payments industry, not giving promises that are out of their hands.
7632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to implement Bitcoin payments in my hardware store. on: September 10, 2021, 08:26:41 AM
The previous users have answered your questions, I just wanted to add a few things.

If you want another resource for Bitcoin payment processors, you can take a look at this list.
BTCPay Server is probably the most recommended payment processor around here, so I would suggest you have a look at it.

Bitcoin transaction confirmations depend on the transaction fees the senders are willing to pay. But you also have to take into account Bitcoin's block time. A new block is mined every 10 minutes on average. Even if your customers overpaid in terms of fees, they can't get their transaction confirmed at least until the next block is found. The 10 minutes is just an average. Sometimes it can be just 1-2 minutes and sometimes 45 minutes between blocks. A high fee gives your transaction priority for getting into the next block, it doesn't guarantee quick transaction confirmation if you need to wait 30 minutes for the next block. I just thought you should know that.
7633  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🤜 GamblingBro.com 🤛 Honest crypto casino reviews ✅ Tested with real deposits ✅ on: September 09, 2021, 12:54:05 PM
One big name is missing from your reviews, Sportsbet.io.
Would you consider doing reviews for sites that provide sportsbook services only or does it have to be a casino? I would be interested in what you think about Betja.com for example.
My second proposal is Betchain.
7634  Other / Meta / Re: Giving merit to people when you don't agree with them on: September 09, 2021, 12:32:12 PM
I often merit users who prove me wrong or correct the mistakes I made in my posts. I never had any problems with that because it shows they are paying attention and they take action when they believe it's needed. I don't have problems with opposing views or if someone doesn't agree with me. Even opposing views can make sense and both sides can be right.

If the opposite side has a better solution to a problem about Bitcoin or the forum, all the power to them. They might even get me to switch sides. But if the ultimate goal is a selfish one, I wont support that.
7635  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism: Where Do We Draw the Line? on: September 09, 2021, 11:02:42 AM
AFAIK, in such cases, if the user has ample/sufficient proof that he owns the account that initially published/posted the article in another platform, social media or whatever, then they prolly wouldn't be banned, the only problem here is the means by which such user is going to prove beyond reasonable doubts to be reposting an already existing work of his.
That's not too difficult to do and prove. One way you can prove the article is yours and that the account that posted it belongs to you is to put up links in the source someone claims you stole it from that point to all the other sites where you posted the article. That should include Bitcointalk. That's sufficient proof that you are the same person. Or you know the original poster and/or paid him to help you.
7636  Other / Meta / Re: Could the merit system demotivate lurkers? on: September 09, 2021, 10:52:24 AM
The merit system is excellent as it is in my opinion. It prevents spammers and scammers from creating accounts and flooding the server with unwanted messages.
This is wrong. You can create hundreds of accounts that can be used to spam or scam on the forum. The lack of merits doesn't make it harder or easier to spam.

As it is though could there be a possibility that it could demotivate a long time lurker and take away from the creative process?
Your posting ability isn't affected by the number of merits you have. You can create new threads or reply to existing ones in all sections of the forum expect Serious Discussion and the Ivory Tower.

If someone has been lurking for a long time and has suddenly got a lightbulb moment where they have an excellent crypto related idea but they would have trouble sharing it because they can't easily do so, because of the high barriers to entry.
Again, nothing prevents you from discussing crypto with other members on the forum. You have limitations to the number of PMs you can send and there is a cooldown period in between posts.

Could there be a way to reward lurkers and other people who contribute to the cause while still differentiating them from spammers?
If you are just lurking and reading the forum without posting, how would anyone know about you to reward you? Merits are the differentiating factor between a spammer and a legit user. There are spammers with hundreds of posts without a single merit.

Maybe there can be some fun interactive quizzes or games that test how well someone understands the technology, philosophy and the economics of bitcoin? Would it be a possibility to earn some merit when playing these games?
You would surely get merits if you created such games and shared them with the community. It is possible to earn some from solving them as well, but it depends on if the OP or community believe what you did is merit-worthy or not.

Here is an example of Bitcoin crosswords that soliton used to make a few months ago.
7637  Other / Meta / Re: How to deal with multiple, factually incorrect threads? on: September 09, 2021, 10:29:23 AM
I don't think there is much you can do except make a post to correct and explain why the OP is wrong. I doubt that there are any rules against that kind of thing. Someone could even create a thread that says that Ukraine banned Bitcoin, but as long as it doesn't break any of the existing forum rules, I don't know based on what the admins could delete it.

The reason why those threads mention that Ukraine legalized Bitcoin is because one news site made an article that said that. The second one copied it from them, third one from the second, and so forth. They are just interested in getting the news out there as fast as possible. The accuracy of the information is of secondary importance. You can apply the same logic to the forum.
7638  Other / Meta / Re: No Incoming my messages on: September 09, 2021, 10:17:12 AM
It may have happened by chance and was not automatically deleted after post A was deleted.
A reply to a deleted post is not automatically deleted, but moderators delete those posts as well because there is no reason for those to stay if the user replied to a post that was later deleted. It makes sense, if you think about it.

I have never considered what happens in the following scenario though:

A thread has 5 posts by 5 different users. I make a post and quote 3 of those replies, for example. After a while, one of the posts I quoted and replied to gets deleted, but the others aren't. Would my post also get deleted for having a quote of the deleted post even though it also contains quotes of posts that weren't deleted?

7639  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: September 08, 2021, 07:36:01 PM
Also, I have no idea why anyone would want to invest in Bethash. Their minimum withdrawal amount($935) and withdrawal fee($93) are absolutely ridiculous. Feels like they are scamming gamblers due to their insane figures.
It's unbelievable that they are still sticking to those excessive amounts for such a long time. I see no reason for anyone to play there to be honest. With so many platforms constantly updating their fees and trying to lower them for their players, there are surely much better alternatives to Bethash.

BTW, there are 2 similar names in the table (Sportsbet and sportbet)
It might be confusing to some people especially new comers in this crypto gambling industry.
So I think you need to edit them with full domain name Sportsbet.io and sportbet.one
That's a good idea! OP has been updated.
7640  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor One: How To Retrieve Recovery Seed from Wallet? on: September 08, 2021, 01:45:40 PM
What do you mean import seed words? I dont have the seeds.... That is the whole issue!?

If you no longer have access to your seed phrase then you should definitely move your funds.
NewEarthRising has not lost his seed. It's just in a different location. It's not close to him where he is now and from where he plans to do the firmware upgrade. That's the problem.

@NewEarthRising
How important is it to you to have access to your coins immediately after the firmware upgrade?
In case your Trezor wallet resets itself, can you wait with the recovery until you get your hands on your seed?

If it's not that important to you to have immediate access, I would suggest you do the firmware upgrade without moving your coins elsewhere. You probably wont need the seed anyways. I think I have performed 4 or 5 firmware upgrades. After 1 of those, my device reset itself. The other 3/4 were flawless. So, it can happen occasionally.

On the other hand, if you need access to your coins immediately after the upgrade and you can't wait until you have access to your seed again, you have to create a new wallet on some other client like Electrum. Write down the seed carefully and move a little bit of your coins to it. Make sure it was received. Recover the newly created wallet from seed to ensure it recovers the correct balance and addresses and then transfer the rest. Perform the Trezor firmware upgrade and move the coins back to your hardware wallet.
