7661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AUCTION NEWS on: June 27, 2014, 08:28:11 PM
It's this type of news that makes me wonder if its a newbie trolling or if it is new
Well I can't really say one way or the other but I would lose my bet if they sold that far below the premium haha
7662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This girl is really dedicated to bitcoin... [NSFW Image] on: June 27, 2014, 12:52:59 AM

smart.  lets hope her "private" keys don't get compromised Smiley

I assume that those private keys were compromised by someone and they made a bit of a killing on that exchange a few times
Although that is a big movement there.
7663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggestest threats to Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2014, 12:51:02 AM
Quantum computers? Bugs in the code? Centralized mining?

Is there anything that can't potentially be overcome that is a threat to Bitcoin? Anything I didn't mention?

Thanks in advanced.

Well besides quantum and bugs and centralized mining as you mentioned can't think of anything else other than new competition that supersedes Bitcoin, or death by regulation and legal systems.

Thinking centralized nodes and 50% are around the same concept but if not worth a distinction as well.

A large room full of people who turn into howling apes for a ball chasing game is highly disturbing and I don't personally like this public behaviour as it is irritating. It happens in bars and pubs, as if football is supposed to be liked by everyone while it isn't. Not to mention the facebook frenzy for all kinds of football events.

Anyone with even the slightest amount of intelligence should at least be aware of the fact that people pay way too much attention to unimportant things such as football while real important events don't get the attention they deserve.

seriously. athletes get paid millions, sometimes tens of millions a year, the most brilliant scientific minds on earth get like 200k best case scenario. usually more like 70-100k. our soldiers get paid like 35k. priorities...

Well A soldier does die for his country but at the same time that means you trust your military to be honest and transparent and fighting for the right cause not a geopolitical agenda.

Scientists deserve their salaries they create and move society forward, the police keep the laws in check on the civil front etc.
Guess your right but the Athletes and the Actors provide our entertainment and it is a pyramid structure can't get up to the top that easily unless your skilled.
7665  Economy / Economics / Re: Creating a guaranteed minimum income through crypto-coins on: June 27, 2014, 12:43:59 AM
Some sort of place where human input is needed that can provide a stable salary is known as a job
In cryto I guess it would be a miner but until we develop 3D engagement systems we probally won't need maintenance teams in the cloud where cryto coins would be useful.
A nice ideal though
7666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: June 27, 2014, 12:39:26 AM
my good friend paying for dedicated servers with bitcoin every month

What servers take bitcoin at this time I recall a few doing that but anyways that is cool
Only sometimes if I see something unique enough that I can get for Bitcoin otherwise a holder Smiley

Many companies accept bitcoins for servers.

Check here:

Since were on that topic a bit are there any for SSD Cloud Serving
Similar to Digital Ocean it would be nice to have a few cloud servers paid in Bitcoin
No need for a paypal account and another place to use bitcoin it makes sense to me instead of having to reload a paypal account just send some bits and be happy Smiley
7667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kidz Digital Trading Cards on: June 27, 2014, 12:37:52 AM
ok the mythical satoshi card isnt gold, its platinum and beveled

cool, except why does Satoshi look like an egg sitting on top of a tombstone?  Cheesy

I had a more creative interpretation and thought he kind of looked like Slenderman

Not sure what Satoshis image should look like myself
7668  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: VAT & BITCOIN - State of Art on: June 27, 2014, 12:35:11 AM
This looks a bit interesting thanks for the read.
Was initially thinking it was about trading art using bitcoins and how auction fees would be decided.
But after reading it's an interesting question and I agree with your interpretation.

Bitcoin does not have an intrinsic value, it is a mean of payment, it does not contain any added value and it circulates as a security. Therefore, the inclusion of bitcoin under exemption of Article 135.1 letter f), is consistent with the purpose of the VAT exemption of financial services.

Just-Dice is gone.

This might turn out to be good timing if AM starts paying dividends again.  A lot of those JD investors could very well be looking for another way to invest their BTC.

This just-dice is a very good investment only one that had a fairly stable ROI with its 1% house edge
Unless you invested at Nakowas peak then it probably hurt if you divested.
Anyways if AM starts paying div's again they definitely could get some market traction from the 50,000 or so Bitcoin that moved out of there.
Or was it 500,000 forget.
7670  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea threatens "merciless" response over Seth Rogen film on: June 27, 2014, 12:25:04 AM
This is awesome promotion, the movie is going to be a boxoffice winner for sure, heck, I might actually go to the cinema to see it. Smiley

A movie even the Great leader of North Korea saw and hated
I can actually see a good trailer being made for this.

"reckless US provocative insanity". (North Korea Bureau)
The Summer blockbuster of the year

Great Leader coming to the theater near you soon.
7671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Western Union lost 2,000,000+ customers to Bitcoin in 2014 on: June 27, 2014, 12:20:31 AM
You need a citation for a claim like that. Otherwise I'm assuming it's BS.

Assuming bull while I did agree in the other thread that Western Union is falling behind
Didn't say they were dead yet Bitcoin still has a way to make itself user friendly to the average person
7672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Western Union would include bitcoins if they were "regulated" on: June 27, 2014, 12:18:28 AM
A central bank issuing Bitcoins that defeats the point of Bitcoin and I think they are well aware that bitcoin is superior for sending.
They were better off just saying if the regulatory environment changes around them we would consider using them
Geez they are getting outmoded and falling behind at this rate they might end up being Polaroid unless they build a new model in the next few years.

If you don't adapt you die. Forward thinking business are looking for way to integrate bit coin. The dinosaurs like western union will crumble.

True what they need to do is say we have a plan this is going to work we will integrate Bitcoin and at the same time make new online mobile apps and webpages for Western Union to attract and focus new users and augment our market lines to create new relationships and maximize the resources that we have.

Balance finances and challenges and have a focus for 2020 something to keep the shareholders appetites wet while having a 5 year plan of improvement and innovation.

Just a 2 minute example and yet 10 talking heads can't get it done in the board room  Grin

In that case shut up during the NBA Finals Stanley Cup Finals and the Olympics!
Basically any sporting event that is major
Deal with it bro

Not like Soccer Traumatized you when you were a kid and the ball hit you in the balls
In which case (I'm sorry for your cojones and I understand your irritation ^_^)
7674  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will belgium win the world cup? on: June 26, 2014, 10:16:03 PM
This is a bitcoin speculation thread so move this to the off topic section
It's the move topic thread in the bottom panel

Anyways on your question its too soon for me to call a team
Would say Netherlands but it could be possible.

LOL that's the first time I saw a player who isn't even in the game get a yellow card. What a douchebag though, kicking the ball away to waste time.

What game was that I must have missed it
Russia Defeated by the Algerians meaning that the spots are settled for this bracket

Yeah Russia is out, Algeria and Belgium advance.

In the game Algeria kicked the ball down the field and it went out of play and a player from the Algerian bench kicked it away so the Russian player couldn't immediately throw it back in. He got a yellow for it.

Ha-Ha nice I'm going to need to wait for the replay on that one
Don't think it would have changed the outcome but that sounds like a classic at least he didn't bite the other player though
Thanks for the note

Thanks for a beautiful chart Notlambchop
Can't argue with the facts there looks fine to me
A link to each asset would be nice as well but might make the chart a bit obtuse.

* To be fair you should add satoshidice since it was on havelock for a while as a pass-thru and made profit.
7679  Economy / Economics / Re: Working in USA on: June 26, 2014, 09:38:33 PM
I am about to finish a masters degree in business administration from UK and thinking to work in USA? Can anybody guide me right to the current employment conditions in the country? Few years back, companies in the country were laying off employees.. Is that still continuing ?

I would say come over to Canada and the oil field since they always need some business entrepreneurs here
That said BP's homebase and local division is in the UK so you might get a better nibble applying there.

Algeria goal for the tie this game gets interesting as the picture changes yet again.
Russia might make the next goal or Algeria still a good 30 minutes left in this match
https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=ssl#q=algeria+standings

Algeria needs a tie/win
Russia needs a win to advance

Although I just noticed that Korea Republic and Belgium are playing so there is a wildcard here if Korea beats Belgium and this game ends a tie
They would need more goals though to make a difference.
