7702  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck for days, Child pay for Parent method will work? on: December 04, 2020, 11:34:54 PM
If I send $1 with really high mining fees such as $50 to the receiving address, will it do the trick?
If the new transaction you want to make has UTXO of the previous transactions (the two transactions), it will work. With the increased fee in the third transaction will make miner to pick the transactions fast and include them all in the next block, the three transaction will be confirmed at the same time.
7703  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Ponzi Scheme running under the shadow of trading platform - Bitocent on: December 04, 2020, 04:35:31 PM
What happened: Ponzi Scheme running under the shadow of trading platform - Offering unrealistic return plans (55% after 96 hours)
Some people are just so greedy but got scammed this way, nothing too good to be real like this will have good ending for investors. It is clear that people should stay off this and completely avoid it. Any active high yield return like this are just ponzi schemes.
7704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of ETH2.0 Scammers on: December 04, 2020, 02:02:25 PM
I think this is purely about ethereum and will fit to be moved to 'Altcoin discussions.

Ether staking was just implemented with the launch of Ethereum 2.0 on December 1, 2020. This will make scammers to take advantage of people that do not learn about ethereum staking but just want to stake, there will be many fake pools now, and many scammers will try to impersonate people, and many ignorant people will be scammed, we need to be careful of scammers. People that are ether holders that want to stake their coin should learn about it in depth before staking in order to avoid scammers.
7705  Economy / Economics / Re: Our new economic model could be defi on: December 04, 2020, 01:21:36 PM
When they say that fiat debt based not good...
Who told you that? Do not get it wrong. Fiat are subjected to inflation. If I borrow my country's currency today, and I want to pay next year, if compared to dollar, the price would have reduced while dollar itself is also subjected to depreciation but my countries fiat is worse. The best currency I like to borrow is fiat because its value mostly likely will depreciate over time so I can pay less than what I borrowed.

I dont think that DEFI is just quick scam... I think it has some bigger meaning.
Maybe you have not been scammed with DeFi project before, if you had, you will know how some DeFi projects are very risky, especially the new ones. There are some DeFi projects that are whitelisted but yet pull an exit scam, how would someone know about that? DeFi are just not secure and safe by design yet, they need more upgrade, DeFi is also not private as people think. If I am asked when next DeFi scam could possibly occur, I will choose next week if probably noth this week because it occurs too often.
7706  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin whales selling to institutions as Grayscale adds 7,188 BTC in 24 hours on: December 04, 2020, 12:12:35 PM
Was it not surprising that the price of bitcoin falled to $16600 recently from a price over $19000, but the price later increase back and having a resistance at $19000. Noramlly, people would have expected the price of bitcoin to crash again when it falled, but the price rose back to over $19000. In today's crypto news, I read it is as a result of institutions buying bitcoin from bitcoin whales. Before the fall, many whales move bitcoin to exchanges, and we know it will not be for any two reasons but to sell the bitcoin, it could be some of the bitcoin that will be sold, but that known to them.

After that, the price of bitcoin still fall but still rose back, which would be as a result of institutions like Grayscale, Square and PayPal that are buying the bitcoin from the whales and also from miners. Expecially Grayscale proving to be one of the reasons.

Grayscale Bitcoin buys versus flow in November 2020. Source: Coin98/ Twitter

Grayscale bought more than the mined bitcoin in November, 2020. Simultaneously, this week saw Bitcoin break all-time highs and challenge $20,000, only to encounter massive selling pressure.

Having bounced off lows of $18,100 and returned to circle $19,000, BTC/USD looks primed for another test of the seminal level, but selling dynamics remain unusual. With sell walls at $20,000 still firmly in place, longtime hodlers and whales looking to exit have reliable buyers in the form of Grayscale and other institutions. Evidence points to increasing inflows from whales to exchanges this week, something which coincided with the $20,000 attempt. Should selling already be keeping prices down, BTC should thus be finding its way from whales to the stronger hands of Grayscale and its clients.

7707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking on ETH 2.0 on: December 04, 2020, 11:34:28 AM
Move this to altcoin discussions.

If the price of ether will increase, then there is nothing bad, I think the reward is also daily also in a way people can join ethereum staking pool.

But, in my opinion, I prefer to be more of a trader than staking. It depends on your choice, if the price of ether falls, this can result to loss, but if the price increase, it is profitable.

If you are an ether holder, it will be good to stake it to earn profit.
7708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Im a newb: I think I have lost bitcoin - Can someone help me? on: December 04, 2020, 06:04:00 AM
With what I have seen on the explorer, you sent to a wrong address, all the addresses that bitcoin was sent to are all native segwit (bc1 prefix addresses) and also nested segwit (3 prefix addresses), but binance addresses are all legacy (1 prefix addresses).

Opening it in explorer it shows 5.7btc from this address : bc1q7cyrfmck2ffu2ud3rn5l5a8yv6f0chkp0zpemf -but i didnt send that much. I only sent 0.04btc.
Custodial exchanges does not work like noncustodial wallets, the exchange will send multiple transactions at ones, not only yours, but you will still be able to track your transaction if you check the addresses using the txid (which they called transaction hash), your address should be there among.

Edit:
I found it guys......I am sooo sorry to have waisted yalls time. I guess when I copied pasted the wallet address I also had been working on another account and I guess I didnt make sure I had actually copied the numbers and ended up transferring to this other account. (One of those buy and store accounts).....jeeesh.
Oh! That is nice. Make sure you check the address you are sending to next time, check and recheck it before sending at all. This kind of mistake had cost many people to have sent to a wrong account entirely before.
7709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paypal BTC - Tread Carefully, If at All on: December 04, 2020, 05:44:34 AM
PayPal is a custodial services that provide bitcoins and some other crypto services, but we know that PayPal users can not use the platform to send and receive crypto, all they do is to buy and sell crypto. I can not used the PayPal for these reason and this single reason is enough for people not to use PayPal. Also, they are custodial means of buying and selling cryptocurrencies. The truth is, I do not see how PayPal traders see it easy to use the service except one reason that I mentioned below, but as for me, I can not use PayPal for dealing withy bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because it will only make things difficult for me.

Not a fan of using Paypal but if the platform is not safe, their customers shouldn't be increasing in numbers over time. If their reputation is bad, then why merchants or online sellers still consider them? Potential decrease in sales? Then it means Paypal is strong despite those complaints. Merchants can easily get rid of them if the company is really worst.
I too will not consider PayPal not safe, PayPal was providing non-crypto service before and it is the first of its kind, belonging to a company based in USA, that makes it to be strong. Like now, it is very possible PayPal will be used to buy goods and services with crypto by it's users from over millions of marchants because PayPal has been a strong company right from before that do not want to be behind as cryptocurrencies are now used by people for many reasons now.

But, for dealing with crypto, I will not consider PayPal safe, PayPal will only make bitcoin and other crypto that are supposed to be privacy coins not to be, in which the initial purpose of bitcoin can be compromised. If I can not be able to send crypto on PayPal, is that not a deceitful way PayPal is comproming people not to have privacy, they are only storing the bitcoin for their own in which only fiat is is used, or what do you think? Only ignorant people are using PayPal crypto services and they are learning lessons.
7710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Im a newb: I think I have lost bitcoin - Can someone help me? on: December 04, 2020, 01:10:06 AM
It will be good if you can provide:

1. The transaction id of the transaction made on crypto.com
2. Also the address you sent it to on binance, do this by copying the address from binance directly and paste it here.

Likely you have sent your bitcoin to a wrong address, you can check directly yourself by tracing the transaction on blockchain explorer using the txid. Or, if you can not do that, you can provide the txid and the binance btc address you sent it to for us to trace it for you.
7711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading: where to trade? on: December 03, 2020, 09:24:46 PM
I’m using Binance, Bitmex, and HitBTC. Bitmex is a bit difficult according to its UX. Having troubles with Binance, you might try margin trading on HitBTC.
I have traded on HitBTC very often, they supported margin, even you can go 12x for bitcoin and ether now. You can be able to go long or short position as well, is is truly a good platform for margin trading. But as I have heard from many people that their HitBTC account was freezed and were forced to verify their accounts, also is the issue of 0.2% taker fee which has now been increased to 0.25%, although the marker fee is still at 0.1%. Another issue is the withdrawal fee, it is very high, 0.0015 btc for bitcoin, 20 USDt for tether, 6 xrp for ripple and so on.
7712  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best video resources for learning to trade? on: December 03, 2020, 09:05:08 PM
This shows that how this industry really lacks the security of their coins and technically they are not much sound. There could be another reason for him not to list is that there are no referral links for that. He focused on wallets that has referral link this way he could earn some commission.
You are right, it ought to include electrum wallet which is the best bitcoin wallet. There could just be mistakes, and this video has just been the best I can post at the moment is the reason, and to just be a beginners focus trading guild. Although, for not mentioning electrum wallet is a mistake but he emphasized more on hardware wallet if security is the case, I think it is still making good point as he also condemn all online wallets that they are not safe like hardware wallet.
7713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading: where to trade? on: December 03, 2020, 08:31:03 PM
Can you just comment about the problem you are having with margin trading on binance?

Binance might not be user friendly but it is a good exchange platform for margin trading. Or, do you need a platform you will be able to go long and short for margin trading?

Or maybe I should post you a video to understand how margin trading works on binance?
7714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's future on: December 03, 2020, 08:19:17 PM
People that did not invested when bitcoin was $7000 really missed out, because people really commented about it then how bitcoin could increase in price after halving, and bitcoin later increased and now at $19000.

Although, bitcoin is having $20000 resistance but the support at $19000 is stronge as well. This time is very hard to predict where bitcoin is heading to, but it is very possible for the price to fall or to increase, people are even afraid of whales not to sell if bitcoin has passed the $20000 resistance because whales that have moved bitcoin to exchanges now have increased. Whales do not just move bitcoin to exchanges, it is because they want to sell it which can decrease the price of bitcoin abrupthly.

But as of this time, to predict what will happen to bitcoin price, either it will increase the more or decrease is not certain. But I do know over long period of time that the price of bitcoin would have increased.

7716  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be Aware Fake Trezor Mobile Wallet on: December 03, 2020, 12:47:53 PM
This will make users hesitant to use mobile phone for their wallet especially android
Although, after web wallet, mobile wallet is the next most vulnerable to attacks, but that does not mean using mobile wallet is not still safe if you can properly maintain online privacy and safety. There are many legit mobile wallets like electrum, but what we just need is to make sure of never using google for anything, visiting the official site of the wallet for download, you can also be able to even verify the mobile wallet on the official wallet sites.

But the fact remains, we should not leave high amount of bitcoin or other crypto on hot wallets.
7717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best video resources for learning to trade? on: December 03, 2020, 12:38:33 PM
You can try this out for beginners.

https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-trading/

You will be able to also know the don'ts in trading. Trading can be very risky.

If you have learnt this, I will advice you to get binance trading app, from there and register, go to FAQ and you will see a lot to learn from the binance guild with videos included. I recommend binance because of their easy to know guild with articles and videos.

Note: If you are not trading, never leave your bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies on trading platforms for the better safety of your cryptocurrencies, move it back to your noncustodial wallet, hardware wallet preferably.
7718  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be Aware Fake Trezor Mobile Wallet on: December 03, 2020, 11:52:26 AM
Immediately I saw your post, I went to android play store on my phone and I found it to be true.

The scammers had good review for it but scam with over 1000 downloads now. People are just tired of Google play store as many fake apps are listed there every month which some people would have been scammed for such google neglegence means of listing apps on their app store.
