7761  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for founding members for a more anonymous bitcoin. on: May 04, 2021, 08:51:59 AM
Privacy is very important thing for me and I am following any project that can improve Bitcoin privacy, but using some new solutions that are probably centralized and controlled by few people is very risky.
I would however need to read more documentation with explanations, not just one image diagram, and I am willing to participate is testing before making any final conclusions.

Getting back to chain-analysis companies, why do you think they won't be able to use them for your project only because you use some monero forked protocol?
I also checked your post history and I don't think you have the right background and ability to make something big like this, but you can prove me wrong.
7762  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: The server returned an error when broadcasting the transaction. on: May 04, 2021, 08:31:18 AM
Thank you for your response. I've done it however i still can't send the amount. How should i proceed?

There is no way you can send 0.00059 mBTC worth $0.03, and current transactions fees are around 20 sat/vB that is around $1.
You need to have more coins before sending them and you should check out mempool before and adjust fee manually if you want to save on fees.

If you are confused about Bitcoin units you can use this converter made by bitmover, and you will find millibit that is mBTC:
https://bitcoindata.science/bitcoin-units-converter.html
7763  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Network Choice And Different fees on: May 04, 2021, 08:20:07 AM
so does my electrum wallet support all of these

Electrum wallet only supports BTC chain that is real Bitcoin, and when you withdraw it to your wallet you will own it and you will have full control with your keys.
All other chains are centralized and CZ Binance or someone else can decide at any point to block or freeze your coins if they think you or your transactions are suspicious or if they have server overloads.
It is true that fees are much smaller on other chains because CZ is trying to force people to use his bnb coin and pump up the volume and transactions artificially.
One solution is to use bnb chains only temporary, send coins from Binance to FTX exchange, and than withdraw original BTC without paying any fees.
7764  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DIY Bitcoin Blockclock on: May 03, 2021, 08:46:10 PM
One guy made his own DIY version of Blockclock with M5Stack ESP32 device (~$30) and called it Blockclock-Micro, however code is not yet released for public but it should be open source and open for contribution.
It looks almost identical with like original Blockclock-Mini but in smaller package and this means that any ESP32 device with LCD screen could be used for making something like this, and devices like this could have multiple use cases.
Topic will be updated later with more information and links so stay tuned if you are interested.

7765  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Help me to recover funds from 20 word mnemonic phrase on: May 03, 2021, 07:52:07 PM
Don't send your seed words to anyone if you receive private message from someone offering help for solving your problem!
I am not using their web wallet for years, but you can try entering your 20 mnemonic words on blockchain recover wallet page, and if you have correct password you should be able to recover it.
https://login.blockchain.com/wallet/recover-wallet

You can also write about your problem to dedicated Blockchain Twitter support, and they may respond quicker:

7766  Economy / Exchanges / Re: buying bitcoin to buy hard wallet on: May 03, 2021, 06:38:09 PM
I want to buy bitcoin, to buy a Trezor model t hardware wallet. Their site only allows credit cards or bitcoin payments, but my bank stopped the payment because they have a policy against anything bitcoin.

You do understand that you will need to write your name and address for ordering Trezor hardware wallet so ordering with Bitcoin (or Litecoin) will link that with your identity.
Some hardware wallet manufacturers like ledger had multiple leaks of customer private information so I would suggest you should read this Guide for purchasing Hardware Wallet the right way and avoiding some mistakes.
Bisq exchange is also not perfect when you want to buy smaller amount of Bitcoins because they have higher fees, but you can also buy BTC on other p2p websites, or try to find local official Trezor resellers and purchase it there.
7767  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Offline Transaction on a airgapped computer -Transaction process- on: May 03, 2021, 05:02:27 PM
The air-gapped computer needs a lot of knowledge from the average computer user and are definitely not for people who does not want to Geek out to do this. (It is the safest way for people to use their wallets, but the process is horrific for newbies and people with average knowledge on Crypto currencies)

I doubt that many newbies and average users are using air-gapped computers, especially today when people want everything to be chewed and simple, so for that reason people invented hardware wallets like trezor and ledger.
Consider hardware wallets as more simple alternative version for air-gapped computers, and there is nothing wrong is using both paper wallet, hardware wallets and air-gapped computers if you know what you are doing.
I know some people who lost paper wallets, other messed up their air-gapped computers, or forgot passphrase for their hardware wallets, so there is no universal solution for human mistakes.
7768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 03, 2021, 04:22:35 PM
i don't think they call it more secure.

It sounds to me they clearly say that their system with twelve words has equivalent of 135 bits of entropy, compared to regular BIP39 that has 132 bits of entropy.
https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/seedphrase.html?highlight=bip39#security-implications

It is the "industry standard" solely because it is made into a BIP and no one really bothers about it as long as it is secure.

It is industry standard because almost every wallet that exist today is using BIP39 by default or optionally supporting BIP39 like Electrum.
I don't know how many other wallets are supporting Electrum seeds except Electrum.
7769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 03, 2021, 04:01:16 PM
Currently not, but I plan to add Electrum dictionary soon. If you really need it, it will be an extra motivation for me Wink

I prefer to use BIP39 even if it's not perfect but it is industry standard, and Electrum only made more confusion with again inventing their own system and calling it more secure.
However I do like and use Electrum wallet almost every day and I think updating your tool will be useful, so I am motivating you now to continue updating.
7770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 03, 2021, 03:22:23 PM
Hey
I have already solver for the use case like yours: PERMUTATION on https://github.com/PawelGorny/lostword
I will print (save to file) all the possible seeds, you must import them into program.
There is also another solver (PERMUTATION_CHECK) if you know the address.
Let me know if you need any help with running it.

How is your tool any different from btcrecover tool, and can your tool also work with electrum type seed that is not exactly using BIP39 word list?
It does look more simple to use than btcrecover, but would also be nice to run your tool without java installation.

I'm having some trouble using the tool, but I will update.
Considering I have the words, an address and knowing it's the only one, I should be able to recover it!

If you used btcrecover tool then you should watch two good youtube video tutorials that @BitMaxz posted above, and just follow the steps.

7771  Economy / Services / Re: Paying $2000 for fixing C++ bug (Bitcoin/Monero) on: May 03, 2021, 03:14:44 PM
I'll pay you $2000 worth of Bitcoin or Monero if you fix a bug in open-source C++ project on GitHub.

Project is not very advanced and any good programmer should be able to do it.
You have to do some testing to find the actual bug and make a PR to fix it.

I will pay half in advance if you tell me what exactly causes the issue, and rest after you make a PR and fix it.

PM me for details.

I can't send you PM because you are newbie member in forum and you also can't send PM's to many members, but I have developer friend who check out the code for you and try to find and fix any bugs.
You can post the link for your project or add some other way for communication with him, maybe telegram, discord or email address.

7772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 02, 2021, 09:30:48 PM
He's not very comfortable with the English language.
I found a receiving address of the wallet, and I have the 12 words, although not in the correct order.
He created it in Blue Wallet.

Blue wallet provides numbers in front of every word for a good reason, but he can try to follow instructions on their website for importing backup seed and check out list of words, because maybe he made some spelling mistake.
This is one example of how Blue wallet is generating mnemonic words for default bech32 option, it is six horizontally written words in two rows, so you can tell your friend to check his paper and compare it with that:

words shown here are just an example

Because, afaik, bluewallet generates 24 words seeds by default not 12 words!
I can confirm that Bluewallet does generate 12 seed words by default, and you can see that in example above.

Derivation paths:

BIP44
Code:
m/44'/0'/0'
BIP49
Code:
m/49'/0'/0'
BIP84
Code:
m/84'/0'/0'

7773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 02, 2021, 09:02:40 PM
Your friend needs to come to forum and write for himself, because it is not easy to answer this question.
What wallet he exactly used for generating 12 seed words, something like Electrum, some other software or hardware wallet, and what error he receives when he tries to import words?
Order of words is very important but maybe he used different standards that is not compatible with his wallet.
7774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Puzzle from a California professor on: May 02, 2021, 06:19:50 PM
Interesting story for this college professor F is that he was a former Marine Corps and CIA agent that later turned over to the good side after learning about Bitcoin.
He is now giving away almost 0.3 Bitcoins for people who find 12 words seed clues in his book, and that is one of the reasons is I love about Bitcoin community so much.
Overall this is a great idea for advertising and promoting Bitcoin, $14.99 for his paperback book is not much at all and it would be a good idea for him to create digital version alternative.
7775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW and free energy on: May 02, 2021, 05:49:46 PM
You can't really say this is free energy when creating just one of this Nuclear Fusion reactors will cost around $25 Billion and it is still experimental technology that is not proven safe and can go wrong at any time.
This would also need lot of materials like Lithium, Deuterium, Tritium (that is very scarce) and others for fusion reaction, then we need huge amount of high temperature and cold temperature for keeping magnets cool....
you can only imagine what happens if magnets get hot....
Bitcoin mining is unrelated with source of energy, you can mine it from air, wind, sun, coal, nuclear fusion or whatever else is invented in future.

If nuclear fusion is going to be centralized, as it seems for now (look at the ITER), then I think it can be a problem. Nation-state attacks could be feasible.
Most energy sources are more or less centralized and controlled by states and governments, so I don't see anything different with nuclear fusion.
7776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IRS now wants to Hack Hardware Wallets on: May 02, 2021, 05:36:19 PM
I wonder how many companies with closed-source HWs would not sacrifice their clients for millions of bucks coming from IRS. In an open-source world, it is indeed very weird to sell a partially closed-source product. But since authorities have easy access to very large fundings, a $10M secret contract with Ledger might actually sound good enough for them to allow backdoors in their HWs, if they haven't done it already.

It is enough for them to have just one dirty worker in this hardware wallet factory who will add some hidden backdoor and nobody will ever know that something is wrong.
Secure element will not help you in this case, and NDA will prevent them from saying anything about that in public, so they don't need to pay millions of dollars at all.

the irs doesnt need private keys or the seed to achieve their main objective; all the need is a list of addy you control. at that point they have all the info they need as they can then monitor those addys.

Oh but they do need your private keys and passphrases to access your funds and confiscate them whenever they want, because they probably have a bunch of hardware wallets full of treasure just collecting dust in their warehouses.

7777  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Change ASIC Chip of Hashboard to be profitabler on: May 02, 2021, 05:09:22 PM
Hey, i need someone who is familiar with asic chips. I want to change the asic chips from an Antminer S9, what uses BM1387B Asic chip, the new Antminer S19 uses the chip BM1398BB, which is more power efficiency and faster, my question is, is it that easy to change the chips, has anyone tried this successfully?

It is not simple plug and play so you can't replace asic chips on your own if you don't know what you are doing or if you are not familiar with soldering and dealing with electronic equipment.
I did saw some youtube videos with people replacing asic chips, and maybe there are some local repair man who can do this for you, but you still need to order the chips and there are no guarantees your asic miner will work fine after this intervention.
7778  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bisq - Exchange, Decentralized. on: May 02, 2021, 09:31:06 AM
It looks like that Bisq exchange is going to start using Liquid network (centralized federate Bitcoin sidechain) as their base protocol, and regular Bitcoin protocol will be available only as alternative option.
I understand the need to do something and try lowering fees but I don't understand why developers have to use almost dead chain like Liquid that is centralized solution dependent on kyc and limited number of people.
Bisq should be all about privacy and nothing is finally decide and there is Bisq github topic investigating new trading protocol:

Quote
Bisq will work to implement support for Liquid as a base layer and become a Bitcoin Layer 3 Network on top of the Liquid sidechain. For those who wish to keep using Bisq as a Bitcoin Layer 2 Network on top of the base layer Bitcoin blockchain, this option will still be available.

7779  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will crypto debit cards work even in restricted country? on: May 01, 2021, 03:42:07 PM
I am looking for debit card which can be topped with cryptos and to be used in India ATMs and POS.
I checked most debit card providers in crypto space, none offers services to India.
Most services are not accepting India for delivering cards maybe because of issues with tech support scammers but debit cards should operate normally except in cases when card issuer is not allowing that.
Binance or Crypto.com can't deliver card and accept registration from your country but you can check out Crypterium card, last time I checked it was available but please note that Crypterium is custodial service.

Will this work?
I have friends in Singapore/Dubai. If I ask them to get me a crypto.com (or any similar services) card either their name or in my name to be used in India, will that debit card work seamlessly or will I face problems as crypto.com is not offering card services to India.
This card should work without any issues but they can block it anytime if they notice anything suspicious, and maybe you will need to ask your friend to send you his documentation.
You should also think about taxes your friend will have to pay because you are using his account for receiving money.

I read some Europe bank accounts can be opened online with virtual/plastic debit cards.
I have bittrex KYC verified account. Will I be able to withdraw from bittrex to my Europe bank account?
If you have verified account it should work, but why don't you try it yourself first with smaller amount for testing?
