Unfortunately, I've publicly fully doxxed Hammes in this thread. There still may be a connection of sorts, but 99.9% confident he's not BitJohn.

Two days later, Paul Vernon pens the bankruptcy option. http://blog.cryptsy.com/Here are our options:
1. We shut down the website and file bankruptcy, letting users file claims via the bankruptcy process and letting the court make the disbursements. Days later, Paul Vernon goes on the air further espousing the bankruptcy option, all the while knowing that he already filed for bankruptcy on January 11, 2016. I have the feathers. Who has the tar?

Cryptocurrency exchange operator Cryptsy may follow Mt. Gox, once the world's biggest bitcoin exchange, into bankruptcy after it was hacked and millions of dollars of digital assets were raided from customer accounts. "raided" ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Hell, they might as well have used 'blitzkrieged'. Also, perhaps the only reason the author used "biggest" in lieu of 'largest' is that he was in a 'b' cadence state of mind musing of some Badass Babalu, hence biggest bitcoin exchange, into bankruptcy.

owsleybeatsbigcartel = racineraiders = John Hammes
It's just a coincidence that John Hammes' name resembles the pseudonym BitJohn of whom we've yet to identify.
I thought it's Terrik's favorite beer. So did I, till I just learnt that Hammes does not equal Hamms.

1.) Become a serial liar and con artist. 2.) Create a cryptocurrency exchange. 3.) After a couple of years, take your clients money.

do you the think the Gox funds will ever be dispersed?
Search this thread for '800' and read about how one dude was able to get his 800 BTC out of Mt Gox five months after their shutdown. He's the only guy.

Did anyone ever verify that that million dollar house was in fact Pauls? I see no reason not to put a lien on it if it is... as they will have to sell it in the divorce... Just saying...
100% verified, but Florida may have laws on the books disallowing liens on homes due to any event.

Any solution with this hate-thread? I see only colored big letters and funny pictures here. BigVern should be working for us to bringing back our coins and not go to jail. it do not help me if he is in a prison, or on the moon, island or in guantanamo ...
He can't do anything to get your money back. Only thing he seems to be doing is holding existing deposits hostage and buying time after having fled the country. The only way anyone will get anything back is if he's caught and he hasn't blown all his assets in China. Personally, I'd like to see him picked up by the Chinese police. All it takes is one chinese customer with a few thousand lost to the Cryptsy scam. Paul in a Chinese prison would help a lot of his customers sleep better at night and once his prison term is completed, one could expect a swift deportation back to the US. Hey Paul, You do realize that you fled to a country where robbery & embezzlement are capital crimes. Maybe not the smartest move if you happen to have Chinese customers. It's too bad that China stopped harvesting organs from executed prisoners last year. ;( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_offences_in_Chinahttp://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-white-collar-criminals-death-sentence-2013-7#zeng-chengjie-executed-1Even though the harvesting of organs has been banned, who's to say that China's not practicing now the implanting of foreign objects into prisoners to study the affects of whatever, if not merely for shits and giggles so doctors can rack up hours behind a scalpel akin to gaining yoke time in earning a pilot's license.

ATTENTION: IF YOU LIVE IN CHINA AND WERE RIPPED OFF BY PAUL VERNON, PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE CHINESE AUTHORITIES.
If you live in other countries, report his crimes there too. It increases the chance that he'll be picked up at a border somewhere. He won't be able to stay in China forever. F-class visas are only good for 3, 6, and 12 months.
Here is the translation for you... Works better when Chinese can read it. Hope that Google translate thing works I might just be saying stuff about cupping balls for all I know, and that just ain't my cup of tea. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) 注意:如果你住在中国,被扯掉由保罗·弗农,请报告向中国当局。 Zhùyì: Rúguǒ nǐ zhù zài zhōngguó, bèi chě diào yóu bǎoluó·fú nóng, qǐng bàogào xiàng zhōngguó dāngjú. It need a court order or subpoena sent to other exchanges, like poloniex, bittrex, btc-e, to get their wallets informations and maybe more, like trading history coming from some specific coins (ltc, btcd, others from the non-said yet but "stolen" alts). That way, it will be possible to get access to large transactions following the "robbery" date.
This thing above is only possible by Big Vern himself and it's HIS responsability.
releasing bits of informations like right now is a sad comedy from a very low-life man.
I would really like that other exchanges help the best they can. That's not good for crypto.
That's if the rub is not that the majority of the exchanges are in bed with one another. I've seen Cryptsy move huge amounts of coins to various exchanges while others were waiting days and weeks for a fraction of a bitcoin withdraw.

As Karpeles had initially not been formally charged for a crime, authorities could not legally detain him for more than 23 days at a time. so what arrested for few day then went out . ? if u ask to spend few day in jail in exchange of million of dollars i am pretty sure that most people will happily go to jail ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I, for one, would gladly get fucked in the ass by the biggest, baddest black dude while cupping his balls and French kissing Leroy Fodor for a million bucks. Okay, perhaps not cupping balls unless it's for two million dollars. HAHAHAEDIT: Who keeps hijacking my account. HAHAHA Karpeles most certainly was charged. I live in tokyo and it was in the local news. They detained him the first time then charged him with embezzlement which carries a 5 year penalty. Then about 6 weeks later they detained him again and upgraded his charges to a higher embezzlement charge because they found some proof that he spent some of the stolen money on prostitutes and hostesses. In Japan, if you embezzle money and spend it on "social endeavors" the penalty doubles to ten years. And yes in Japan you can be detained for 23 days without charges. However, that doesn't mean sitting quietly in a cell. They won't let you sleep for days, repeatedly interrogate you demanding confessions for 12 hours at a time, use stress position tactics just like guantanamo bay, and even withhold food until you confess. Japan gets a 99% conviction rate for a reason. http://gaijinass.com/2011/01/02/7-brutal-realities-regarding-arrest-in-japan/Ergo, one must be a total retard to get arrested, go through the brutality, got lucky and was released, ONLY to bring attention to himself again for a subsequent arrest to endure further brutality, perhaps to meet back up with some dude desiring the recipe for his signature apple pie.

The majority of customer digital assets (e.g., bitcoin) are held in our offline (i.e., air-gapped) vaulted storage system (“Cold Storage”). Only a small portion of digital assets are held in our online wallet (“Hot Wallet”). ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.intriguing.com%2Fmp%2F_pictures%2Fgrail%2Flarge%2FHolyGrail067.jpg&t=663&c=-o_HlVgXdv2G_A) Paul Vernon: Okay, we just figured out how the Trojan attacked occurred. On July 29, 2014, my wife brought to the office her signature fish sandwiches that's all the rage by the staff. Well, we had to open the door for her to come in to deliver the sandwiches and that's when we believe the Trojan sniffed the off-line cold wallet packet thingies reducing our holdings during the event. To be clear, we were using the stench of Marshall Long so that them packets couldn't be sniffed, but somehow the aroma of the fish sandwiches countered Marshall's stench allowing the event to happen. We promise to be more careful, especially now that it looks like we won't be getting anymore of them delicious fish sandwiches delivered to our office, wherever that may be, due to a divorce, with the stench of Marshall Long remaining in place, the only true defense against ANY attack, as once shown where even Josh Garza backed away from Marshall's advance.

23 days applied to an earlier arrest before he was charged with a crime. Now he's been charged with embezzlement and remains in jail. Given Japan's conviction rates he's likely to spend quite a bit of time there.
hopefully he will seat there for 20 year + . Doing the math, we'll be lucky if Paul Vernon serves a quarter of the time that Trendon Shavers is sentenced to for his four-time larger theft than what occurred at Cryptsy.
