781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my simple way to store bitcoin - is it any good on: November 08, 2020, 12:07:44 AM
If you really wan't to be secure then avoid third parties, at the same time its online , all of the wallet has their own weaknessim pretty sure about that
there should be the main thing that you should do is choose a wallet that if something happens you will have a solution to retrieve it, i will not suggest any wallet, and what you're doing is correct exchange wallet is not the right place to store your coin

That is why we always remember what is uniswap address or web address, I think the newcomers are the most vulnerable to this kind of scam since they don't know what to do they maybe have used this site, I think this scam will never stop as long as there are people to be victimized, we should really , very helpful this should alarm other to be aware of the address before looging in their credentials.

785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your fears in new cryptocurrency? on: November 07, 2020, 12:08:22 PM
most of them are just copied from the old coins, correct me if im wrong but most of us fear of getting scam, imagine giving so much hype for a new saying good features, product, person backing up, and at the end of the ico after a few weeks of waiting the site can't be reach, the token has no value at all, versus when you bought it, what really makes investors keep distance is because of what everyone fears to be scam.

787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: lose money by swapping a fake coin in uniswap on: November 06, 2020, 12:55:44 AM
I think people should read this guild below before swapping on Uniswap, there are many scams taking advantage of listing fake coins on the Dex exchanges like Uniswap. Searching for token or its address on etherscan can get you scammed, you need to link etherscan through coingecko or the projects official site.

It is not only about how to trade on Uniswap that matters, there are mistakes that people can make on the exchange. To know more about Uniswap exchange, this will be helpful https://www.google.com/amp/s/boxmining.com/uniswap-review-tutorial/%3famp.

Fake coins: Anyone can list their tokens on Uniswap, so there are people out there who list fake coins on Uniswap in the hopes of being able to scam people into sending their funds for these coins. So Uniswap users need to be extra careful in this respect- see our section below on identifying and avoiding fake coins on Uniswap which teaches you how to double-check you are sending funds to the correct transaction.

Fake coins on Uniswap: How to identify and avoid them
Because any coin can be added to Uniswap, there are lots of scam or fake coins on the Exchange. Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, so if you accidentally send your funds to buy these scam coins or tokens you will not be refunded. The logo and ticker of these fake coins can look exactly like the real ones, so you need to be careful.

You can verify if the coin or token is real by checking it on Coingecko. To do this, look up the coin or token you want to exchange to on Coingecko, at the bottom of the page find and click on the trading pair for Uniswap (see image on left). You will then automatically be taken back to Uniswap and the token will have been imported (see image on right).

Import token on Uniswap

Another way to verify that the token is genuine is to check it on Etherscan (see below). Again on Coingecko, find the token and click on the etherscan.io explorer. On the Etherscan window, you will be able to see the contract number for the token. Match this contract number with the number in the address bar in your web browser for Uniswap.

Check the token number on Etherscan against the number in your Uniswap browser.

Warning: Do NOT search for the token or its address on Etherscan. Always link to Etherscan via Coingecko or the project’s official website. This is because Etherscan itself lets you search for all tokens and transactions on the blockchain, including the fake ones.

Wallets that are supported for now
Uniswap allows users to connect directly to their Exchange, the following wallets are supported: MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, Fortmatic and Portis. I will prefer Mastermask wallet because it is non-custodail wallet type.

I'm not sure about the contract address but correct me if I'm wrong, but I have read something that they can make it with the same contract address and the coin fails, i don't know how they do it
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / lose money by swapping a fake coin in uniswap on: November 05, 2020, 04:40:53 PM
Have you experience swap a coin and it fails but you pay fees?
this is some of the issues by newbies, also experience this kind of issue which in the start I ignore this one, but realized I waste my money
mostly this is fake coins, from fake airdrops, why I'm telling this, is because we can save a dollar or more by avoiding these mistakes

this will be the error you will encounter but it will be too late because you have already pay the fee's

Things to do :

1. avoid this never trade or swap a coin which you don't know if it's legit
ask the official group or research,  ask friends, or in this forum.
The image shows that its a fake coin:

2. if you don't apply for an airdrop and received something it is a scam, don't trade or swap the coin
note: unless you hold a coin that gives an airdrop, but still verify if it's true on their official site
This is my experience so far, which is if you look at the transaction you pay, without getting something in return
which consider being also a loss, so be very careful when swapping token, don't get excited with the value,
I hope I'll be able to help, by sharing my experience
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why aren't more businesses and investment funds buying Bitcoin? on: November 05, 2020, 07:09:54 AM
bitcoin price doesn't just go up because of lots of buyers, the more company use bitcoin for payment and business heads to cryptocurrency will make the price higher, but it depends, there are other things that are to consider for bitcoin price, small companies can't invest to bitcoin because they are in the different business or not leaning into crypto, what are we waiting for is big companies should use bitcoin as a universal currency that I think will be the reasons might reach another all-time high for bitcoin, again it will depend on how people will react
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 05, 2020, 01:27:33 AM
It's not bad luck or by chance but its really true that losing has a higher chance than winning I think, the gambling operators will not invest a big amount of money if they know they will lose, as you can see, there is only a few wherein people go home with money in their pockets, most of the time banker wins, if you calculate for example in any game there are lots of choices and combinations to choose from which the chances are slim, and only luck will be on your side.
791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let us discuss on hacked exchanges on: November 04, 2020, 11:52:28 PM
Hacking exchanges are almost normal these days
and yes this might be an inside job, but we can't deny how good these hackers
they can scan the web and look for vulnerabilities, they can send file or email
to someone with an attachment or virus that can take down a firewall, and then
pretend to be someone in the network, but the most interesting thing to me is
of all the hacking from the years in the past why are they not improving security
measures, making daily or weekly maintenance, they may lessen the probability
of being hack.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous teams on: November 04, 2020, 05:01:27 PM
they were right investing in unknown team or groups will result in losses, mostly they will disappear after the ico, or when all payment received website down, group deleted, those are types of scams that newcomers encounter trusting them because of sweet promises, instead look for persons who have other projects that are successful and still up until now, peace of advice never listen or attract to 1000x returns it will end badly for you.
793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are using the name of Airdrop to take the wallet's private key. on: November 04, 2020, 03:16:43 AM
Things to remember to be safe in this kind of scheme

Airdrop only needs wallet address - asking for private keys is 100 % scam
Asking fee's to be able to send your token to you are one way to scam
personal message pretending that they are VP or head of the team, no one in the right mind will send personal messages especially if he is the president VP or head of the development.
No website, no team, no projects, remember contract address can be copied and pretends it's their coin, I've seen this in some airdrops after they get what they want they will vanish.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it wise to deposit $ 100 in bitcoin before the united states vote? on: November 03, 2020, 02:22:41 PM
Hello Everyone I'm new here. I did some research about cryptocurrency exchange. I know very little about this topic. What should I do What do you suggest?I thought of investing to bitcoin for $100 to start before vote in usa. What do you guys think?
it is hard to predict what will happen since as we all know bitcoin is volatile sometimes we see an upward trend, are you going to hold bitcoin or are you going to use it to purchase altcoins? What's the reason behind it? purchase at your own risk, remember to spend money you are willing to risk or lose, don't just spend money only because of the elections, there are a lot of things to consider to be careful.
795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How and where invest 500€ on: November 03, 2020, 01:01:14 PM
ask yourself first are you ready for the consequences of investing? I have seen people regrets investing because they made a big mistake of choosing when to invest, I think you need to study first a little bit of cryptocurrency how they behave because we are talking about money,
like everyone said invest money you are willing to lose, choose carefully when investing, don't be emotional when investing or trading

799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Price predictions for Bitcoin over the coming years. on: November 02, 2020, 02:41:34 PM
if we look at the bitcoin chart only we can see the trend is going up from less than a dollar the price now is 13 thousand USD, with PayPal embracing bitcoin, we may be looking for 20 thousand USD, but still, there are lots of blockages that is needed to overcome, but these are moves that we are expecting because others don't totally accept bitcoin because of their personal agenda's, if they change their outlook in bitcoin we may see another all-time high, sooner
